Corene Long, 59, Harrodsburg Road, Washington County, wife of Boyd Long, died Monday Jan. 24, 2005 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1945 in Marion County, she was a daughter of the late George and Lucille Followell Pendergraft.
She had worked in the Plating Department of HallMack, was a member of the Bradfordsville Christian Church, she enjoyed camping, collecting Barbie dolls and loved Poodles.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: one son, Gary D. (Jessi) Long of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Sheila Pendergraft of Whitley City; three sisters, Margaret L. Weston of Indiana, twin sister Irene Murphy of Harrodsburg and Sue Pendergraft of Whitley City; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Pendergraft, and one sister, Virginia Pendergraft.
The funeral was conducted Wednesday, Jan. 26 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Brett Thornton and Irvin Foster officiating. Burial was in Peters Cemetery, in Mackville.
Pallbearers were Ervin Foster , Greg Abell, Michael Murphy, Tim Grubbs, Robin McGuffin and John Yaste.
CECIL MOBLEY
Cecil Mobley, 90, Mayfair Manor, widower of Beatrice Bailey Mobley, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Dec. 6, 1914 in Harrodsburg, he was a son of the late Elic and Nora Devine Mobley.
He was an alumnus of Campbellsville College and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville and was a former minister of several Baptist churches in central Kentucky. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a former member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Tony (Betty) Mobley of Bloomington, IN and Terry (Becky) Mobley of Lexington; one sister, Christine Thomas of Deland, FL; one sister-in-law, Betty Mobley of Lexington; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and five nieces.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Eldred Mobley, and two sisters, Pauline Davis and Evelyn Prosser.
The funeral was held Monday, Jan. 24 at the W.R. Milward Mortuary -- Southland Dr., Lexington with Rev. William K. Simmons officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chris, Derek and Mary Beth Mobley, Steve Stone, Elbert Carpenter and Mark Ross.

MILDRED PHILLIPS
Mildred Evelyn Phillips, 90, W. Shelby St., Junction City, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Aug. 15, 1914 in Shelby City, she was a daughter of the late Henry Clem and Mary Ann Gaston Phillips.
She attended Eastern Kentucky University and graduated from Centre College in 1944. She was a teacher for 31 years at Junction City Elementary School, she was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a member of Lexington Road Church of Christ.
Survivors include: one sister, Geraldine Phillips (Douglas) Brown of Harrodsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Phillips Yates and Ada Marie Phillips Wheeler.
The funeral was held Saturday, Jan. 22 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville with Dr. Steve Wolfgang officiating. Burial was in Junction City Cemetery.

WILLARD PHILLIPS
Willard Phillips, 89, Hogue Hollow Road, Junction City, husband of Louise Price Phillips, died Jan. 20, 2005 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 30, 1915 in Junction City, he was the son of the late Buck and Lillie Broyles Phillips.
He was retired from Caldwell Stone Company and was a charter member of Shelby City Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three daughters, Alice (Alford) Smith of Danville, Lillie Phillips of Junction City and Leona Bryant of Harrodsburg; one son, Eugene Phillips of Junction City; two stepchildren; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Monday, Jan. 24 at Stith Funeral Home in Danville with Rev. Paul McFarland officiating. Burial was in Junction City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stanley Bryant, Cecil Preston, Louis Leffew, Dennis Oaks, Bobby Toadvine and Cecil Hardin.
Honorary pallbearers were Raymond King, Dave Vernon, John Bodner, Marty Warren, Curtis Holeman, James Cochenougher and Josh Fugate.
CARRIE SPRINGATE
Carrie Springate, 90, Talmage-Mayo Road, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born March 9, 1914 in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of the late George and Dessie Norton Springate.
She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, the church choir, the Powell Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart Group.
Survivors include: one sister, Georgia Powell Springate of Harrodsburg, and numerous relatives.
The funeral was conducted Monday, Jan. 17 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bryan Burkhead officiating. Burial was in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Ashford, Mack Compton, Granville Loving, J.H. Whitenack, Elton Johnson and Charles Stratton.
Honorary pallbearers were Cecil Riley, Connie Darland, Don Stiglich and members of the Powell Sunday School Class.
JAMES WHEAT
James T. Wheat, 80, Greensboro, NC, husband of Deborah Collier Wheat, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 in Greensboro.
Born in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wheat Sr.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: five sons, James Wheat and Bruce and Robert Caskineete, all of Syracuse, NY, Gino Wheat of Greensboro, and Darrell Wheat of New Haven, CT; three daughters, Delores Wheat of East Orange, NJ, Stephanie Hardcastle of Heidelberg, Germany, and Sharon Wheat of Syracuse, NY; one nephew, Sam Wheat of Harrodsburg, and several grandchildren and great -grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Woodard Funeral Home in Greensboro. Burial will be in Harrodsburg at a later date.

BRENDA COX
Brenda Rogers Cox, 58, of Tyrone Pike, Versailles, died Wed., January 26, 2005 at the Hospice Care Center.
Born at Salvisa, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Marjorie Rogers and lived much of her early life in Lawrenceburg.
She was a member of the Versailles Baptist Church and a retired 26-year employee of Texas instruments.
Survivors include: her husband of 43 years, John Allen Cox, Versailles; two daughters, Sherry Ann (Wesley) Harrison, Estill County, and Holly Jo Stewart, Versailles; one son, Edward Allen Cox, Lexington; and seven grandchildren.
Three brothers, Bernice Rogers, James Rogers, Bruce Rogers, and a sister, Melinda Faye Rogers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 29 at the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. John Brandon officiating. Burial will follow at the Sand Springs Cemetery, Lawrenceburg.
Pallbearers will be John Praria, Guy Wainscott, Bobby Rogers, David Rogers, Wesley Harrison, and David Harrison.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.

SAMUEL HUTCHENS
Samuel Anthony Crane Hutchens, infant son of Mary Margaret Crane and Boyd Anthony Hutchens, both of Harrodsburg, was stillborn Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville.
In addition to his mother and father, survivors include: one brother, Daniel Joseph Wayne Hutchens of Harrodsburg; grandparents, Bob and Phyllis Crane and Wayne Hutchens, all of Lawrenceburg; Glenda Williams of Lexington; great-grandparents Marion and Mary Blair of Lebanon and Rose Marie Crane of BC Canada, and numerous relatives.
Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 21 at Lawrenceburg Cemetery with Father Charles McDonald officiating.
Pallbearers were Robert J. Crane II and Phillip Crane.
MARGARET RAYBOURNE
Margaret Cull Raybourne, 88, Bardstown Road, Springfield, widow of Jack Raybourne Jr., died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005 at her residence.
Born Nov. 20, 1916 in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Myrtle Watts Cull.
She was a graduate of Harrodsburg High School and of Bethel College. She was retired after serving 20 years as an assistant of the Washington County property valuation administrator, she was interested in the operation of the family farm, she was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Springfield Baptist Church where she served as pianist for 55 years.
Survivors include: two sons, Jack W. “Skeet” Raybourne of Mechanicsville, VA and Kenneth A. Raybourne of Nicholasville; one daughter, Sandra (Howard) Carey of Lebanon; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sara Cull, and four brothers, Horace, Bobby, Brent and Dalton Cull.
The funeral was held Monday, Jan. 31 at the Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Bland Mason officiating. Interment was on Cemetery Hill in Springfield.
Pallbearers were Kelly Raybourne, Kevin Carey, Larry Breunig, Truman Taylor, Mike Myers and Bill Cull.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack and Reed Breunig, Parker Raybourne, Kemper Ancarrow, Drew Sutton, Don Bailey, Mitchell Reynolds, Kenneth Davis, Bob Walker and Len Benedict.
