Alice Ray Phillips Hanks, 90, of Harrodsburg Road, Lawrenceburg, widow of James Melbourne Hanks, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Heritage Hall Care Center in Lawrenceburg.
Born October 31, 1914 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Thurman and Alice Ophelia Birdwhistell Phillips.
She was a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church, and retired from Wild Turkey Distillery after 20 years of service.
Survivors include: two daughters, Louise (J. B.) Stratton, Salvisa, and Carolyn (Davis) McMichael, Lawrenceburg; one son, Jim (Edith) Hanks, Lawrenceburg; one brother, Forest (Edith) Phillips, Lawrenceburg; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, James Robert Stratton; three sisters, Mattie Dee Carter, Beulah Mae Atherton, and Annie Ruth Overstreet, and a brother, C. T. Phillips.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 1, at Gash Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceburg, with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial was in Sand Spring Cemetery.
Pallbearers were George Stratton, Ben Stratton, Eric McMichael, Marty McMichael, Jimmy Marquardt, Brian Franklin, Sean Wallace, and Wayne White.

JANE MILLER
Jane Y. Miller, 70, of Harrodsburg, widow of Joe Miller, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.
Born June 8, 1934 in Wheelwright, she was the daughter of the late Arthur G. and Madge Amburgey Perkins.She was a retired teacher with the Mansfield, Ohio Schools and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Joe William (Regina) Miller, Dayton, OH; one sister, Phyllis Mills, Charlotte, NC; one brother, William C. Perkins, Hindman; twelve nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother; Arthur Gordon Perkins, and a sister; Imogene Streleski.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 2, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dr. Robert DeFoor. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were J. B. Reed, Jim Hogue, Joe Blankenship, Jeffery Blankenship, Allen Monroe, Ed Hudson and Dale Shellhammer.
MARY VORIS
Mary Elizabeth Voris, 70, Harrodsburg, died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born January 15, 1935 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Mason and Margaret C. King Collier.
She was a Wal-Mart sales clerk and former Corning Glass employee.
Survivors include: three sons, Harvey Ray Voris, Burgin, Dale Thomas Voris, Danville, and Michael Edward Voris, Salvisa, eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son; Rick Alan Voris.
Graveside services were held Friday, April 1, in Spring Hill Cemetery by Gary Story.
Pallbearers were Aaron Voris, Bryan Voris, Clinton Voris, Seth Voris, Lee Voris, Johnathon Taylor, Carol Bottom and Alana Robinson.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Mercer County Senior Citizens.
ARTHUR WILSON
Arthur Coleman Wilson, 81, of 350 N. Greenville St., died Monday, April 4, 2005 at his home.
Born March 31, 1924 in Lexington, he was the son of the late William Douglas and Amelia Cole VanMeter Wilson. He was the widower of Joyce Criswold Wilson.
He served during World War II in the U. S. Army. He was a retired IBM supervisor and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church. He was also a member of the VFW Post 3634 and the 274 Armored Division.
Survivors include: three daughters, Marecha (Jon) Wolcott of Bowling Green, Patricia Wilson, Harrodsburg, Kimberly (Mark) Corman, Nicholasville; two sisters: Nannie DeLong, Lexington, Gladys Jerrell, WV; daughter-in-law, Ellen Wilson, Lexington; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Michael Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Don Chase officiating. Burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, with military rites.
Visitation, Thursday, April 7, from 5 - 8 p.m. and Friday prior to service at the chapel.

GRACIE BLACKETER
Gracie Blanche Blacketer, 88, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Monday, April 11, 2005 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Feb. 25, 1917, in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late John and Sarah Carey Sims. She was the widow of George E. Blacketer.
She was a member of Dry Branch Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Polly (Eddie) Hardin, Harrodsburg and Peggy (Leroy) Taylor, Danville; one sister, Ruby Hardin, Harrodsburg; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Blacketer, and two sisters, Beulah Blacketer and Helen Clark.
Services were held Wednesday, April 13, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Junior Fields. Burial was in Battle Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Taylor, Howard Wohner, J. R. Taylor, Ernie Prather, Jeff Gammon and Harrison Hardin. Honorary pallbearers were great- and great-great-grandchildren.
ZELMA COSBY
Zelma Mae Cosby, 85, of McDowell Place, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Monday, April 11, 2005 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.
Born May 15, 1919 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Clint and Ruth Woods Demaree. She was the widow of Maurice Cosby.
She was a seamstress at Cricketeer Manufacturing Company for a number of years and a member of Mt. Hebron Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Geraldene (Melvin) Cheak, Lexington, Ruth Ann (Bill) Conover, Harrodsburg; one son, Ronald (Mary) Maurice Cosby, Muncie, IN; one sister, Sarah Louise Cosby; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday (today), April 14, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Jimmy Owens and Elwood Norton officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ron Cosby II, William Maurice Cheak, Jeff Cheak, Michael Yoder, Cary Fehlinger, and Caleb Conover. Honorary bearers will be Bill Robinson, J. B. Claunch, Davis Burrus, Garland Hoskins and Doc McKinney
Visitation Wednesday, April 13, from 5 to 8 pm. and Thursday prior to service at the funeral chapel.

BENNETT CROUCH
Bennett Lee "Peahead" Crouch, 85, husband of Irene Thacker Crouch, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Born in Somerset, he was the son of the late Arvie Bascom and Nancy Alma Leffew Crouch.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, a self-employed home improvement contractor, and a member of Stonewall Wesleyan Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: his children, Lee (Lois) Crouch, Lexington, Jimmy Crouch, Salvisa, B. B. (Freda) Crouch, Lexington, Libby (Charlie) Kelly, Nicholasville, Butch (Cecil) Crouch, FL, Vicki (Greg) Becknell, Nicholasville, Mike (Faye) Montgomery, Lexington, Larry (Dee) Montgomery, FL; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Hislop, IN.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Crouch, and three brothers, Joe, Dennis, and Johnny Crouch.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 11, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Rev. Chip Monck with burial following in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.

MABEL DEVINE
Mabel Etta Devine, 87, widow of Raymond “Bobby” Devine, died, Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born, May 29, 1917 in Washington County she was the daughter of the late H. B. and Ovie Click Taylor.
She was a Beaumont Inn cook and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, NASCAR and was an avid U.K. football and basketball fan.
Survivors include: two daughters: Glenda (Judd) Barrett, Harrodsburg and Barbara (Herbert) Cox, Harrodsburg; one brother, William Henry Taylor, Melbourne, FL; three sisters, Thenia Bottoms, Stanford, Pauline (Ruel) Walls, Springfield and Joyce (Roland) Fowler, Mayfield; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam and Willard Taylor, one sister, Myrtle Dearing, and one great-grandson, Thomas Leon Cox.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 9, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Geoffry Barrett and Rev. John Watts officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chasitey Kellogg, grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

NORMAN GRAHAM
Norman Bruce Graham, 72, of Danville, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 20, 1932 in Washington County, son of Margie Colvin Graham of Harrodsburg, and the late Hubert Nelson Graham.
He was a retired pilot with American Airlines. He was a naval aviator during the Korean War, a member of the Squadron VF 71, Hells Angels on the USS Intrepid. He graduated from Mackville High School in 1950 and attended University of Kentucky where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
He was an entrepreneur and inventor, being granted a U. S. patent for a hand therapy device, the Max Hand.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Virginia Graham (William) O’Donnell of Chicago, IL; two sons, N. B. “Buck” (Julie) Graham Jr., Danville and William Montrose (Laura) Graham of Mobile, AL; two sisters, Marilyn (Tony) Gray, Harrodsburg, and Dianne (Ken) Thomas, Charleston, SC; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday (today), April 14, at Willisburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville.
