Imogene Claunch Caldwell, 68, Fairview Drive, Campbellsville, wife of Thomas Caldwell, died Monday, May 23, 2005.
Born Nov. 9, 1936 in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Elvin and Martha Logue Claunch.
She was retired from the Central Kentucky News Journal after 27 years of service.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: four sons, Greg (Cindy) Caldwell of Nicholasville and Gordon (Sheila Ann), Tony (Carol) and Joe Caldwell, all of Campbellsville; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild, and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Caldwell, and two sisters, Edna Carpenter and Sissy Russell.
The funeral was held Thursday, May 26 at the Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home
in Campbellsville with Rev. Don Gowin officiating. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Darian Gray, Lilburn Hedgespeth, Allen and Timmy Larimore, Richard Robards, John Seaborne and Doug Vaughn.

EVELYN COLE
Evelyn Royalty Cole of Lawrenceburg died Sunday May 22, 2005 at Heritage Hall Care Center.
Born September 17, 1915 in Mercer County, she was the widow of Allen Carroll Cole and the daughter of the late Phil and Nannie Bell McCoy Royalty.
Retired from the state Department of Revenue, she was a member of Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church and a graduate of Salvisa High School.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Ann H. Baxter of Lawrenceburg; a brother-in-law, Robert B. Cole and his wife, Jenna Louise, of Lexington; two nieces, Jane Ransdell Ross of Lawrenceburg, and Julie Cole Wilson and her husband, Brad, of Lexington; a nephew, Bobby Cole and his wife, Teresa, of Salvisa; and two great-nieces, Erika Ann Royalty of Frankfort and Melissa Beth Royalty of Lexington.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn E. Royalty; and a nephew, Glenn Johnson Royalty.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 25, at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Wells officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul Hanks, James Harley Jr., Klein Perry, Tom Ritchey, Dudley Shryock, John Allen Gash, and Bobby Cole.

MARY EDWARDS
Mary Katherine Overstreet Edwards, 86, formerly of Perryville, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born June 26, 1918, in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse W. and Mary Boling Overstreet.
She was a retired switchboard operator for Danville Youth Development Center and a member of the Perryville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Charlotte Edwards; a son, Billy Edwards; a sister, Helen Lanham, all of Perryville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, at Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville by Rev. Doug Thacker and Rev. Bobby Estes. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary bearers are Scott Routon, Austin and Kelsey Lister.
NORMA McMURRY
Norma Landers McMurry, 68, Salvisa, wife of James E. McMurry Jr., died Monday, May 30, 2005 at her residence.
Born June 26, 1936 in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of the late Grant and Viola Sharp Landers.
She was a homemaker and a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church. She enjoyed making baskets and crocheting.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: three daughters, Myra Morgan of Middleburg, Melony Hisle of Georgetown and Cindy McMurry of Salvisa; one son, James Owen McMurry, also of Salvisa; three brothers, Charles T. Landers of Simpsonville, James Ray Landers of Lyndon and Lucian Landers of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Dixie Logue of Salvisa and Barbara Brown of Burgin, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Bugg.
The funeral was held Wednesday, June 1 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Preston and Rev. John Hockersmith officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Hisle, Lynn Gilkison, David Morgan, Gary Brown, Steve Landers and Mark Darnall. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Brown, Walter L. Logue and Calvin and Tim Darnall.
VERRILL MOORE
Verrill D. “Doc” Moore, 89, Linden Drive, Lawrenceburg, husband of Ruby Robinson Moore, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the Heritage Hall Care Center.
Born March 9, 1916 in Mercer County, he was a son of the late James H. and Amanda Coker Moore.
He was a former carpenter and employee with General Electric in Louisville, he was a member of the Lawrenceburg Church of Christ, and he was an avid antique collector and woodworker.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Carroll D. (Jane) Moore of Brentwood, TN; one daughter, Dixie L. Moore (Bradley) Kiser of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one niece.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Raymond, Cecil, LeRoy and Brent Moore.
The funeral will be today, Thursday, June 2 at 2 p.m. at the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Bro. Glenn Wooters officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Julian Birdwhistell, Larry Stewart, Eugene Corley, Bobby Chowning, Stan Simmons and Raymond Peak.

RUBY PEYTON
Ruby Jane Peyton, 81, Frankfort, widow of Ambros “Doc” Peyton, died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at the Bradford Square Nursing Center in Frankfort.
Born March 14, 1924 in Lexington, she was a daughter of the late Ora and Elizabeth Highlinder Garrison.
She was retired after 32 years as a Webster Electric employee, she was active with the Woodford County Senior Citizens, and she was a member of the West Frankfort Church of God.
Survivors include: one daughter, Janice Wethington of Versailles; two sons, Louis (Carol) Peyton of Spartanburg, SC and Virgil (Opal) Peyton of Harrodsburg; 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
The funeral was held Wednesday, June 1 at Clark Funeral Home, Versailles Road, with Bro. Wade Hughes officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Mike and Steve Butler, Louis Hughes, Kenny Riggs and Carl Gene and Douglas Scott Peyton.

CRAIG SOWDERS
Craig Sowders, 85, of Sowders Street, Stanford, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 in Lexington.
Born April 20, 1920, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late George and Bessie Sowders.
He was a self-employed mechanic, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Bernie Atkins Sowders; a son, Kim Sowders; a daughter, Carolyn McClure; a brother, J. T. Sowders; six sisters, Lois Davidson, Dovie Cummins and Ann Denham, all of Stanford, Imogene Singleton, Danville, Georgie Smalley, Harrodsburg and Bonnie Waddell, Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Fox Funeral Home in Stanford by Johnny Adamson. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Moore, Tony Morgan, Joey Rice, Rodney Doss, Danny Baker and Jeff Davidson.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday.
ELIZABETH BURGIN
Elizabeth D. Burgin, 91, 830 Noel Ave., died Saturday, June 4, 2005 at her home.
Born Oct. 19, 1913 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Dorothy Cummins Dennis and the widow of Truman Elwood Burgin.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, where she taught the five-year-old Sunday School Class for many years.
Survivors include: one son, Joseph E. Burgin of Harrodsburg; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and T. C. Dennis.
The funeral was held Tuesday, June 7 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bobby and Thomas Christerson, Jeff Hawes, Van Wiley, Greg Souder and Roger Snow.

ADA CROUCH
Ada Crouch, 93, College Manor, widow of Addison Crouch, died Sunday, June 5, 2005 at Bradford Square, Frankfort.
Born Sept. 30, 1911 in Rose Hill, she was the daughter of the late James and Omie Henry.
She was a member of Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church, she was a graduate of Rose Hill High School, and her hobbies included growing flowers and landscaping.
Survivors include: one son, Bobby Crouch of Frankfort; two granddaughters; two step-granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Wednesday, June 8 at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Humpert officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donnie White, Chad Hiett, Steve David, Kenneth Crouch, Earl Pinkston and Taylor Thompson.
BILLY CUNNINGHAM
Billy Joe Cunningham, 74, Louisville Road, Salvisa, husband of Virginia Hall Cunningham, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at his residence.
Born Sept. 2, 1930 in Manchester, TN, he was the son of the late James Riley and Anna Vickers Cunningham.
He was a retired sheet metal worker for Homco Mechanical, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Assembly of God, and a member of the St. Johns Masonic Lodge 125 in Salvisa.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three daughters, Carol (Roger) Gregory and Bobbi Jo Cunningham, both of Shelbyville, TN and Trenna Cunningham of Harrodsburg; two step-daughters, Debbie Gunnell of Frankfort and Tresa (Dr. Walter) Logan of Shelbyville; three stepsons, Terry (Barbie) Foley of Sadieville, Timmy (Wanda) Foley of Richmond, and Elmer Burchett Jr. of Salvisa; one sister, Geneva Seagraves of Winchester, TN; 15 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Rugle Cunningham; one sister, Inez Cannon, and one granddaughter, Shree Gregory.
The funeral was conducted Saturday, June 4 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Pete Toth officiating. Burial with Military Honors was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bruce Goodlett, Howard Fallis, James Bell, James Cherolis, Tony Bast and Franklin Cole.
Honorary pallbearers were Rodney Thompson, Bryan and Terrance Ruble, Eric and Trinity Foley and Tim Cunningham.
A Masonic Rites service was held Friday at the funeral home.
RICHARD DRURY
Richard Lurue Drury, 44, 520 Samuels Loop, Cox’s Creek, died Thursday, June 2, 2005 in Lafayette, IN.
Born Dec. 2, 1960 in Mercer County, he was the son of Richard D. Drury and the late Ellen Frances Moore Drury.
Survivors include: one sister, Becky J. (Danny) Jones of Frankfort; two brothers, Gary Lee (Sharon) Drury of Willisburg and Chris Drury of Harrodsburg; a fiancée, Jean Jackson of Bardstown.
The funeral was held Saturday, June 4 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. Lester Tirey officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Danny Jones, Gary and Chris Drury, Josh Jones, Lee Sayers, Terry and Allen Moore and Brian Jackson.
JERRY DRYE
Jerry Willis Drye, 88, of Currens Road, Salvisa, formerly of Danville, He died Thursday, June 2, 2005 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born March 28, 1917, in Middleburg, he was the son of the late George Wetherford and Mary Belle Wesley Drye.
He was a member of Junction City United Methodist Church where he had taught Sunday school. He was an Army veteran of World War II and taught finance at Duke University while in the service. He was the widower of Kathleen Drye.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kathy White, Salvisa; one brother, George Drye, IL; one sister, Annie Merl Watson, Fairfield, OH; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at Junction City United Methodist Church by Joe White. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Stith Funeral Home in Danville and from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Mullins, Marshall Qualls, David Logue, Mark Grigsby, P. D. Lanham and Jerry Watson. Honorary bearers will be the Fidelis Sunday School Class and Don Anderson, Eugene Horton and Ben Reynolds.
