JORG POTTS
Jorg Minot Potts, 50, Calvary Lane, husband of Tammy Dennis Potts, died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at his residence.
He was a son of the late Andrew Shouse and Edna Marie France Potts.
He served as a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army where he was a drill instructor at Ft. Knox, and he received the Meritorious Service Commendation. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, he was a member of the Mercer Church of Christ, and he was a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed being a father and grandfather and serving as the public address announcer for Mercer County sports.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Danny (Bobbie) Potts and Andy Potts, and one daughter; Jeanie (Jason) Sanford, all of Harrodsburg; two brothers; John Gary Potts of Lexington and Thomas S. Potts of Harrodsburg, and one sister; Dona Kendrick, also of Harrodsburg, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Ann Potts, and two brothers-in-law, Dewayne Dennis and David Kendrick.
The funeral was held Sunday, June 12 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Jason Pierce, Mike Justice and Jim Collins officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David, Robert, Brian and Ken Kendrick, Tommy Dennis, Monty McRay, John Warren and Jim Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were James Thomas, Homer Yates, Jeremy Shope, Ritchie Bottoms, Seth Kendrick, Todd Collier and Pete Elliott and the men of the Mercer Church of Christ.
Memorials are suggested to Heritage Hospice or to the Mercer County baseball team.
JORG MINOT POTTS
Jorg Minot Potts age 50, of Calvary Lane, Harrodsburg, died June 9, 2005 at his home. He was the son of the late Andrew Shouse and Edna Marie (France) Potts. Potts and a sister; Dona Kendrick both of Harrodsburg, his Father and Mother-in-law; Tommy and Jean Dennis also of Harrodsburg. He was predeceased by a sister Betty Ann Potts, two brothers-in-law; Dewayne Dennis and David Kendrick whom along with his sister Dona raised Jorg.
Funeral Services will be 2:30 PM Sunday, June 12, 2005, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Jason Pierce, Mike Justice and Jim Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 PM Saturday, June 11, 2005.

BETTY TYLER
Betty Ruth Brock Tyler, 70, Salvisa, widow of Donald “Rat” Tyler, died Thursday, June 9, 2005 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 8, 1934 in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edna Skirvin Brock Sr.
She was a homemaker, she was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church, and she attended Salvisa United Methodist Church where she was a member of C.A.P. She was a quilter, she collected miniature lamps, and she loved flower gardening and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: two daughters, Linda (Bobby) Hardin of Salvisa and Donna (Ernie) Bostic of Anderson County; one son, Donnie (Vicki) Tyler, also of Salvisa; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Dolly Arnold; two brothers, Walter Brock and Leonard Brock, and one grandson, Dwayne Stumph.
The funeral was held Saturday, June 11 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Wiley officiating. Burial was in the Kirkwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike, Rudy, Chuck, Dennis and Johnny Tyler, Larry Devine and Louis Sea. Honorary pallbearers were Angela, Jason and David Tyler and Daniel Stumph.
DICA WARREN
Dica Edwards Warren, 87, of Perryville, died Wednesday in Danville.
Born May 1, 1918, in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Nora Perkins Edwards. She was the widow of Jackson Warren.
She was a member of Doctors Fork Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a former member of Harrodsburg Homemakers, and a former employee of GENESCO.
She also was active in the Forkland Festival where she portrayed her great-great-grandmother, Polly Sparrow Whitehouse, an aunt of President Abraham Lincoln.
Survivors include: one daughter, Nina Bruce Clooney, Augusta; two sons, Jackie Warren, Perryville and Kenneth Warren, OK; three sisters, Etta Bryant and Sadie Simpson, both of Danville, and Dorothy Preston, Mitchellsburg; one brother, Roy Edwards Jr., FL; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at Wilder Funeral Home by the Rev. John David Lane. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

RYAN BROCK
Ryan Alexander Brock, 18, Evansville, IN, died Friday, June 17, 2005, after a long battle with cancer.
Born July 15, 1986 in Cynthiana, he was the son of Ken and Alecia Brock.
He attended Northern Elementary and Scott County Middle Schools in Georgetown, completing his middle school years at Oak Hill Middle School in Evansville, IN. He was a 2004 graduate of North High School, Evansville where his major focus had been automotive technology. His plans were to attend Wyo-Tech University in Blairsville, PA this fall to study street rod fabrication and high performance engines. He had worked briefly with Larry Doss Construction and Adecco. He was an active member of First Southern Baptist Church in Evansville and was involved in numerous activities including participation in the Journey, Judgment House, Upward Basketball, and two trips to Juarez, Mexico with the Mexico Mission Team to help build homes for those less fortunate. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two grandparents, Cleo H. Claunch of Harrodsburg and Kenneth E. Brock of Butler, and one aunt, Barbara Brock Warner of Southgate.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: one brother, Kevin Brock of Evansville, IN; one aunt, Debbie Claunch of Harrodsburg; two grandmothers, Joyce Claunch of Harrodsburg and Reba Brock of Butler; one great-grandmother, Leo Hunt of Worthville, and numerous other relatives and friends.
He also was blessed by wonderful caregivers, including Dr. Brian Carr and Dr. Wallis Marsh of UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA; Dr. Daniel Shirey and Nurse Practitioner, Kelly Dempsey, of Evansville, IN; and VNA Hospice Nurse, Heather Lenn.
A memorial service was held Monday, June 20 at First Southern Baptist Church in Evansville, IN.
The funeral was conducted Wednesday, June 22 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Moore, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church, Evansville, and Rev. Mat McIntosh, pastor of Bellepoint Baptist Church, Frankfort, officiating. Burial and graveside services were in Spring Hill Cemetery.

RYAN ALEXANDER BROCK
Ryan Alexander Brock, 18, beloved son of Ken and Alecia Brock, Evansville, Indiana, completed his earthly journey on Friday, June 17, 2005, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Ryan was born July 15, 1986 in Cynthiana, Ky. Ryan was a quiet individual who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Ryan was fortunate enough to hold short term employment with Larry Doss Construction and Adecco. He truly enjoyed these opportunities to feel active and involved.
Ryan was a son, grandson, nephew, cousin and compassionate friend who shared an immense faith and a gentle smile with all who knew him.
Ryan was preceded in death by two wonderful grandparents, Cleo H. Claunch of Harrodsburg, KY, and Kenneth E. Brock of Butler, KY, as well as a terrific aunt who shared a common bond with him, Barbara Brock Warner of Southgate, KY.
Other than his parents, Ryan is survived by his joyful and loving older brother, Kevin Brock of Evansville, IN; two devoted grandmothers who cared for him during his illness, Joyce Claunch of Harrodsburg, KY, and Reba Brock of Butler, KY; one aunt who always endeavored to bring joy and simple pleasures into his life, Debbie Claunch of Harrodsburg, KY; one great-grandmother, Leo Hunt of Worthville, KY, who helped teach him the true meaning of faith; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and friends who provided love, support, and encouragement along the way.
Ryan was especially blessed to have wonderful Christian friends who shared a love for Christ, who continuously lifted him up in prayer, and who constantly looked for ways to include him in their daily activities. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home, Harrodsburg, KY with the Rev. Nancy Louise Clark, 72, Lexington, widow of Herbert Franklin Clark, died Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie Toney Votaw.
She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three daughters, Debbie (Roy) Stidham, Winchester, Donna (Michael) Lynn, Lexington, Brenda (Mark) Beazley, Salvisa, and Sandra Clark Feeley, Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren, Tamera Whitaker and Emily Beazley; and one sister, Loretta (Jerry) Powell, Fairfield, OH.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Dr. Craig Loscalzo.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until service time.

KENNETH CLEMONS
Kenneth Ray Clemons, 50, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Lexington, passed away Friday, June 17, 2005 at his home.
A retired horseman, Kenny was a son of Bertha M. Coyle Clemons and the late Raymond Clemons.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Betty Perry Clemons of WI, and two sons, Kenneth Lauth of NY, and Jason Clemons of WI; one sister, Darlene (Larry) Sims of Harrodsburg, and three brothers, Russell, Devaughn and Mark Clemons of Lexington.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at Evergreen Memory Gardens in Paris.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at Kerr Brothers, 463 E. Main Street, Lexington.
ELLA FULLER
Ella Frances Spurlock Fuller, 64, wife of Clarence Edward Fuller, of Shun Pike, Nicholasville, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005.
Born January 18, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret Rhorer Spurlock.
She was a member of East Hickman Baptist Church and was a former employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Warehouse.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary (fiancé-Anna Fuqua) Moffett, FL, and Tony (Betty) Moffett, Harrodsburg; three step-sons Kenny (Sandy) Fuller, FL, Paul (Cheryl) Fuller, Lexington, David (Sharon) Fuller, Lexington; one brother, Hugh Elmo (Donna) Spurlock, Nicholasville, one granddaughter and five step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Arnold (Shirley) Spurlock and J. B. Spurlock.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Betts & West Funeral Home, Nicholasville, with Rev. Robbie Stollger officiating. Burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

NICHOLAS HUFF
Nicholas Cox "Nick" Huff, 84, 505 Old Dixville Rd., husband of Mary McCrystal Huff, died Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Oct. 8, 1920 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Herbert and Oma Cox Huff.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He ran the Huff and McCrystal Garage, and he was a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Judy (Paul) Logue of Harrodsburg; one son, Scott Huff, also of Harrodsburg; one granddaughter; one great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lillian Huff, and two brothers, Lawrence and Thomas Huff.
The funeral was conducted Wednesday, June 22 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Muench officating. Burial with military rites was in the St. Nicholas Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers were Rick, Steve and Jeff McCrystal, Kevin Carter, Robbie Brown and Bill Huff.

JEAN JOHNSON
Jean Clark Johnson, 70, of Tyler Avenue, Harrodsburg, formerly of Lancaster, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at her home.
Born Dec. 21, 1934, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil G. and Lillie Mae Yeakey Clark. She was the widow of Porter Johnson.
She was an employee of Hub Frankel and Vend Fresh. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church.
Survivors include several cousins.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18 at Lancaster Cemetery Chapel by Odis Clark.
There will be no visitation.

JEANETTE O’BANION
Jeannette O’Banion, 95, Old Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, widow of James Vernon O’Banion, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005.
Born Oct. 30, 1909 in Green County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Lee and Lula Creal Bridgewater Gaines.
She was a member of Saloma Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, David G. (Charlotte) O’Banion of Campbellsville and James Douglas (Leona Gay) O’Banion of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Trannie Hatchher, Iris Newton and Ruth Rogers, and two brothers, Richard Gaines and Avery Gaines.
The funeral will be held Sunday, June 26 at 2 p.m. at the Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with Rev. Earl Pike, Rev. Danny Pace and Rev. Paul J. Dicken officiating. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gabehart, Kenneth and W. A. Gaines, Mike Hatcher, Harold O’Banion and Damon, Jimmy and Woody Newton.

Mildred D. Osborne, 75, of 630 Miller-Hunt Road, widow of Fred A. Osborne, died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at the Stanton Nursing Center.
A native of Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Esther White Bishop. She was a homemaker and a member of Anderson Christian Church, Lawrenceburg.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Lewis Taylor, Clark County; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James R. and Jean Smith, Anderson County, and Carlton S. Smith, Carrollton; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, at Scobee Funeral Home, Winchester, by Lee Cruse. Burial was in Springhill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.

Frances Pierce, 88, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

Harold D. Smither, 52, of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, June 16, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born Nov. 6, 1952, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Richard and Flossie Bryant Smither.
He retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Toombs Smither; two sons, Daniel Smither, Harrodsburg and Chris Smither, Pineville; five bothers, Burrell Smither, Franklin, IN, Richard Smither Jr. and Steve Smither, both of Liberty, Gary Smither, Lexington and Ronnie Smither, New Port Richey, FL; four sisters, Burrneatha Edwards, Anderson, IN, Velma Walls and Javana Short, both of Liberty, and Wanda Ponder, Harrodsburg; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 19, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, Liberty, by Rev. Jimmy Brown. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery.

Edith Jane Short Southerland, 65, of 206 Linda Drive, died Friday, June 17, 2005 at her home.
Born April 13, 1940, in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Lillie Mae Davis Short of Lancaster and the late Jessie Short.
She was a homemaker and a member of World Harvest Revival Center.
Survivors include: her husband, Jesse Southerland; one daughter, Barbara Southerland Gravitt, Danville; one son, Timothy W. Southerland, Danville; six brothers, James Short, McKinney, Clifford and Johnny Short, both of Harrodsburg, Roy Short, Rowland and David Short and Kenneth Jordan, both of Lancaster; six sisters, Christine Winkler, Richmond, Mary Brussells, Harrodsburg, and Margaret Rousey, Opal Short and Shirley Gilbert, all of Lancaster, and Libby Cress, Stanford; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
