Edna Mae Tate Burchett, 79, of Worldstown Road, Junction City, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at Stanford House nursing home.
Born June 15, 1924, in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Nora Quinn Tate. She was the widow of William D. Burchett.
She was a homemaker, a 50-year member of Worldstown Church of God and attended the church's annual senior citizens retreat in Lexington.
Survivors include: three sons, Robert Burchett, Danville, Johnny Burchett, Perryville and Jimmy Burchett of Johnson City, TN; six daughters, Ann Tate, Connie Warren and Fannie Holt, all of Danville, Wanda Curtsinger, Harrodsburg, Frances Gillis, Lebanon and Betty Mullins, Hustonville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 23, at Worldstown Church of God by Rev. Floying Thompson, Rev. Roger Stevens and Rev. Wendell Douglas. Burial was in Parksville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Troy and Chris Tate, Timothy Mullins, Harvey Mullins Jr., Jeremy and Joshua Wilson and Stuart Warren. Honorary pallbearers were church members.
Memorials may to Worldstown Church of God and American Stroke Association.

BRUCE DEVINE
Bruce Edwin Devine, 68, Paris, France, formerly of Harrodsburg, husband of Nicole Devine, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005 in Paris.
Born April 7, 1937 in Harrodsburg, he was a son of the late Edwin M. and Goldie Devine.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Pratt Whitney Aircraft.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one sister, Shirley Carmickle Slatten of Harrodsburg, and three brothers, C. M. Devine of Danville, Charles Leon Devine of Lexington and Richard Michael Devine of Georgetown.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanetta Lou.
Burial was in Paris.
HAROLD GLASS
Harold S. Glass, 88, Mercer County died Monday July 25, 2005 at his home after an extended illness.
Born in Scott County, Feb. 19, 1917, he was the son of the late Maud and Sherman Glass and widower of Mary G. Glass.
He graduated from Garth High School and attended the University of Kentucky. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. He lived in Lexington for many years and operated restaurants in Kentucky and Ohio.
He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Bradshaw, son-in-law Ted, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at W. R. Milward Mortuary-Southland.
There will be a private family service at the gravesite in the Georgetown Cemetery with Chaplain Gary Story officiating.

RANDALL KIRKLAND
Randall D. Kirkland, 47, Salvisa, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at his residence.
Born Jan. 18, 1958 in Mercer County, he was a son of Kenneth B. and Audrey Cosby Kirkland.
He was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Kentucky. He was a farmer, he enjoyed fishing and reading and loved his dogs, Megan and Jack.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: one brother, Michael (Cynthia) Kirkland of Louisville; two nephews; one great-niece, and his companion, Mona Minter of Salvisa.
The funeral was held Friday, July 22 at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Martin and Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Douglas, Russ Baldani, Bill Flynn, Eddie Combs, Mark Smith, Ken Terry and Kenny Roney.

ROBERT LOWE
Robert Lee “Bob” Lowe, 70, husband of Hope Ann Meredith Lowe, died Sunday, July 24, 2005 at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington after a long illness.
Born Nov. 20, 1934 in Burgin, he was a son of the late L. L. and Leona McGee Lowe.
He had lived in Mercer and Woodford counties. He retired from Kentucky Utilities Company after 39 years and also worked at Firestone in Harrodsburg and Dayton Power and Light in Dayton, OH. He was a member of the Burgin Baptist Church and of the Landmark Masonic Lodge #41 F & AM and of the Order of the Eastern Star 426 in Versailles.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Mildred “Milly” (Greg) Mullins of Lexington; two sons, William L. Lowe of Mansfield, TX and John L. (Cathey) Lowe of Versailles; one sister, Gertrude (John) Milton of Harrodsburg; one granddaughter; one grandson, and three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford L. Lowe and Warren L. Lowe, and one sister; Christine Bowles Baker.
The funeral was conducted Wednesday, July 27 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Reverend Kent Berry officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Pallbearers were Larry and Leland Lowe, Bobby Gene Royalty, Benny Sowder, Michael L. Gregory and Harold Lanham.
Honorary pallbearers were Dennis M. and Alexander R. Allen, Gene Motley, Dr. William McClellan, Doug Kinder and Bobby H. Smith

LEROY PITTMAN
Leroy Pittman, 81, Clarksville, IN, husband of Jean Trower Pittman, died Friday, July 22, 2005 at Riverview Village in Clarksville.
Born Dec. 9, 1923 in Mercer County, he was a son of the late William and Rosa Best Pittman.
He was a retired auto body repairman from Montgomery Chevrolet in Louisville. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Clarksville.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Billy (Teresa) Pittman; two daughters, Beverly (Bob) Jenkins and Deborah Caughan; one brother, Charles (Naomi) Pittman, all of Mercer County; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and many cousins in Mercer County.
The funeral was held Monday, July 25 at Coots Funeral Home in Clarksville. Burial was at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Clarksville.
BROOKLYN SALVIA
Brooklyn Spring Salvia, newborn, died Friday, July 22, 2005 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
She was a daughter of Michael Taylor Salvia and Tabitha Dawn Turner of Harrodsburg.
In addition to her parents, survivors include: one sister, Autumn Celeste Salvia, maternal grandfather Mark (Cindy Griffieth) Turner, maternal grandmother Linda (John) Hall, paternal grandfather Mike Salvia, and paternal grandmother Cheryl Salvia, all of Harrodsburg; paternal great-grandparents Paul and Donna King of Radcliff; paternal great-great-grandmother Persis Wrangler King of New York, and paternal great-great-grandmother Pauline King of Mississippi.
Graveside services were held Monday, July 25 at Spring Hill Cemetery with Rick Snyder officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
JOHN STEVENS
John William Stevens, 85, Lexington, husband of June Vogel Stevens, died Friday, July 22, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born March 22, 1920 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Joe and B. V. Ransdell Stevens.
He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps. He attended the University of Kentucky and the Jefferson Law School. He was an insurance executive for several insurance companies, and he retired from the Independence Life and Accident Company. He was a member of the Grapevine Christian Church.
Graveside services were held Monday, July 25 at the Grapevine Cemetery in Mercer County with Bro. James Walters officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

LAURA SUTTON
Laura Devine Sutton, 92, Willisburg, widow of Joseph M. Sutton, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
Born Dec. 3, 1912 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Annie Long Devine.
She was a 1932 graduate of Willisburg High School. She was a homemaker, and she was a member of the Willisburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Wilma Sims of Springfield; three sons, Harold W. Sutton of Shelbyville, Donald K. Sutton of Simpsonville and Larry Joe Sutton of Willisburg; one brother, R. C. Devine, also of Willisburg; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Lloyd Devine.
The funeral will be today, Thursday, July 28 at 1 p.m. at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. J. W. Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Pallbearers will be M-Ie Sloan, Cheri Davidson, Marsha Henson and Michael, Joseph, Matthew, Bethany and David Sutton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie McIlvoy, John R. and Anna Lee Hardin, Fred Junior and Beaulah Faye Chesser, Billie and Bobby Cheser and Ernest Reed Goff.
PAUL WALDRIDGE
Paul David Waldridge, 65, Mercer County, husband of Wanda Gayle Corn Waldridge, died Thursday, July 21, 2005 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born Oct. 25, 1939 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Arvle and Flossie Scott Waldridge.
He was a farmer and was retired after 30 years as a truck driver for Harrod Ready Mix in Lexington. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church.
In addition to his wife , survivors include: one son, David J. (Kim) Waldridge of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Lisa (Steve) Hardin of Evansville, IN and Jeannie Waldridge of Louisville; four sisters, Oleta Sutherland of Lawrenceburg, Evelyn Casey, Lucille Goodlett, and Anna Ruth Waldridge, all of Taylorsville; one brother, Eugene Waldridge, also of Taylorsville, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, James Curtis, James Henry and Everett Waldridge, and two sisters, Helen and Ellen Waldridge.
The funeral was held Sunday, July 24 at the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Bro. Harry Hebert and Bro. Bill Collins officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

ENID GABHART
Enid Baker Gabhart, 93, Washington, IN, widow of Howard Davis Gabhart, formerly of Mercer County, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005.
Born May 19, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Amy Baker.
She and her husband ran a feed mill for her father in Alfordsville, IN and later built a nursing home in Washington. She was a writer, and she produced poetry and published a book, “Enid A Country Girl.”
Survivors include: nine daughters and four sons; one sister; 51 grandchildren and numerous other relatives in Harrodsburg and Mackville.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
The funeral was held Saturday, July 30 at First Christian Church in Washington, IN. Burial was in the Christian cemetery north of Alfordsville.
DEWAYNE GIBSON SR.
Dewayne, Gibson Sr., 33, Harrodsburg, husband of Theresa Shryock Gibson, died Sunday, July 31, 2005 at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born in Lexington, he was a son of Anita Ridener and the late Willie C. Ridener.
He was a truck driver for Mayflower Moving Service and he served in the Navy during Desert Storm.
Survivors, other than his wife and mother, include: six children, Britney Nicole Gibson, Dewayne Gibson Jr., John Brandon Gibson, Taylor Gibson, Tyler Gibson and Joshua Thomas Gibson; and three brothers, Buddy and Arney Staton and Clifford Ridener.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main Street. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Emiello, Thomas Shryock, Gaines Greene and Wally Staton. Honorary bearers will be Andrew Nicols and Buddy Staton.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
EARL GORMAN
Earl Calvin Gorman, 71, Pinewood Drive, Nicholasville, husband of Beulah Wall Gorman, died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at the VA Hospital in Lexington.
Born Dec. 6, 1933 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Albert and Lillie Pearl Gorman.
He was a retired carpenter and worked at Vogue Rattan for many years.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Betty Sue (Marlin) Carter; one granddaughter, Crystal "Chrissy" Carter. five brothers, Delbert "Deb"(Sue) Gorman, Clyde (Wilma Jean) Gorman, James (Ethel) Gorman, Benny (Jurl) Isaacs and James “Odie” (Linda) Isaacs; one sister, Ruth Bowles of Harrodsburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Atrice Sebastin, and one brother, Buddy Gorman.
The funeral was held Monday, Aug. 1 at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home, Oak Street, Nicholasville. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers were family members.
EDITH HOWARD
Edith Trisler Howard, 89, Louisville, died Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the Carltas Medical Center.
She was born in Mercer County.
She was a member of Kenwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Frank “Lou” Howard; one brother, Frank Trisler of Harrodsburg; one granddaughter, Jennifer Howard; one grandson, Christopher Howard, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Wednesday, Aug. 3 at the Kenwood Baptist Church. An additional service was held Wednesday at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Local arrangements were handled by Ransdell Funeral Chapel.
ELMER JENKINS
Elmer Jenkins, 70, 740 Horse Ridge Rd., Stanford, died Thursday, July 28, 2005 at his residence.
Born Aug. 26, 1934 in Harrodsburg, he was a son of the late Charlie P. and Dovie Hardin Jenkins.
He was a retired farmer and also worked at Gateway of Harrodsburg for many years. He was a member of the Shakertown Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sisters, Edith Nowlin of Danville and Margaret Lester of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Buford Jenkins of Stanford, James Jenkins of Lexington and Earl Jenkins of Versailles, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday, July 30 at Burgin Memorial Garden with Kenneth Whitehouse officiating.
Local arrangements were handled by the Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

EVELYN JOHNSON
Evleyn Cole Johnson, 90, Talmage Mayo Road, widow of Condit B. Johnson, died Thursday, July 28, 2005 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Oct. 30, 1914 in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late James Irvin and Annie Frances Black Cole.
She was a machine operator for 31 years at Cricketeer Manufacturing Company, and she was a member of the Mayo Christian Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Wendell (Joyce) Johnson of Harrodsburg and William Elton Johnson of Lexington; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one great- great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Lloyd Johnson; one brother, Lafon Cole, and two sisters, Blanche Cole Overstreet and Garnie Cole Fields.
The funeral was conducted Saturday, July 30 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Matthew Atha, Elwood Norton and William Elton Johnson II officiating.
Burial was in the Mayo Christian Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wes Johnson, William Elton Johnson II, Darren Ransdell, Mike Goodlett, Nick McKinney and Mack Compton.

ISABELLE MOORE
Isabelle Moore, 89, widow of John R. Moore, died Friday, July 29, 2005.
She was born Jan. 7, 1916 in Lexington.
Survivors include: two daughters, Emilie (Shuck) Tucker and Kathy (Charlie) Wilson, both of Bourbon County; three sisters, Nancy Prather, Mary Ellen (James) Neal and Brenda (Ronnie) Smith; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Aug. 2 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Main Street, Lexington, with the Rev. Bill Ransford officiating. Burial was in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Shuck Tucker Jr., Shuck Tucker III and William Tucker, John Daniel Wilson, Gary Eldridge, Joe Neal, Joe Moore and Michael Hall.
Honorary pallbearers were Janie Eldridge, Anna Montgomery, Melinda Tucker, Jennifer and Olivia Wilson and Loneta Wells.
