Born March 15, 1968 in Danville, he was the son of David Allen Gooch, Stanford and Jackie Snow Gibson, Harrodsburg.
He worked as an electrician for Corning Inc. and was a member of the Flint Glass Workers Union. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He was a National Guardsman.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: his wife, Robin Gooch, Harrodsburg; one son, Nathan Gooch, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Sarah Gooch, Harrodsburg; step father, Ronald Gibson, Harrodsburg; step mother, Rebecca Gooch, Stanford; one brother, Nathan Gooch, Tampa, FL; one sister, Shannette Quellette, Harrodsburg; two step sisters, Anne Carrillo, Los Angeles, CA, and Stacy Paul, Castaic, CA; maternal grandmother, Edith Snow, Greenwood, IN; paternal grandfather, S. D. Gooch, Kings Mountain; paternal grandmother, Freda Gooch, Kings Mountain; maternal great grandmother, Ada Snow, Kings Mountain.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Immanuel Baptist Church, Faulkner Lane in Boyle county, with Randy McPheron and John Dean officiating. Burial will be in the K. P. Hall Cemetery, Kings Mountain, with military rites by local National Guardsmen.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Huffman, Richard Sullivan, Billy Eldridge, Glenn Logue, Darryl Coffman, Steve Butler, David Robinson and Jon Sanders.
Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Baptist Church Youth Program.
Visitation will be at the church after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.

GEORGIA SHARP
Georgia Virginia Pope Sharp, 83, of Mereno Valley, CA, died Monday, June 19, 2000 at her residence.
Born August 26,1916 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Maggie Demaree Pope. She was the widow of Robert Arthur Sharp.
She was a retired food service worker for the LA Unified County School District.
Survivors include a granddaughter with whom she lived.
Graveside services were conducted Friday, June 24, at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. R. J. Gentry officiating. There was no visitation.
Parks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
EVA HODGE
Eva G. Hodge, 84, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Somerset, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000 in Harrodsburg.
Born October 11, 1915 in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Betty Love and Cleveland Harrison Cole. She was the widow of Vernon Hodge.
She was a homemaker, a member of Ferguson Baptist Church and taught a Sunday School primary class for several years.
Survivors include: one son, Bruce (Lori) Hodge, Rock Hill, SC; four daughters, Carol (Ed) Corder, Natchitoches, LA, Betty (Bob) Muse, Charlotte, NC, Linda (Lee) Edwards, Harrodsburg, and Marlene Wallace, Lexington; one sister, Aliene Coomer, Radcliff; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Luther Cole.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 23, at the Chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Vance officiating. Burial was in the Somerset Cemetery.
FANNIE BOTTOM
Fannie Zerilda Bottom, 100, of 750 Buster Pike, Burgin, died Friday, June 23, 2000 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born November 4, 1899 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William and Naomi Frances Watts Horn. She was the widow of Vernice Graves Bottom.
She was a homemaker and a member of Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one niece, Christine Montgomery, Harrodsburg; two nephews, Connie and Billy Horn, both of Mercer County.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 26, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Larry Redding officiating. Burial was in the Bruner’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eddie Horn, Randy Horn, Tim Horn, Keith Horn, Connie Horn and Tommy Nichols. Honorary bearers were Wayne, Justin, Chris, Matt, Luke, Johnathan, Tyler, Jill, Kendra and Lora Horn. Flower girls were Nicki Wilham and Kristina Baker.

Melony Lynn Marie Spurlock, 39, of 1084 New Dixville Road, died Sunday, June 25, 2000 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born August 1, 1960, in Louisville, she was the daughter of A. J. and Mabel Mae Combs Graham.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: three daughters, Nina, Aimee and Holly Ann Day, all of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Davey Graham, Harrodsburg, and Allen Crask, Dayton, OH; one sister, Laurie Stumbo, Danville; her grandparents, Robert and Minnie Graham, Danville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 28, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Danny Broce officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

GENEVIEVE McCANDLESS
Genevieve Elliott McCandless, 81, of 222 South East Street, died Friday, June 23, 2000 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born May 13, 1919 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Price and Mary Catherine Wren Elliott.
She had worked as a clerk for the Gem Drug Store and Lay & Lawson and had been a telephone operator for South Central Bell. She was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Widow to Widow and Modern Woodmen of America.
Survivors include: two sons, Dan McCandless, Lancing, MI and Ben McCandless of MS; two brothers, Lt. Col. Edwin Elliott and Virgil Elliott Sr., both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Eunice Tyler, Danville; three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 25, at the Ransdell Funeral chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

LUCILLE TAYLOR
Lucille Graham Taylor, 88, died Sunday, June 25, 2000 at the home of her daughter in Jeffersontown.
A native of Mercer County, she was a retired seamstress for Enro Shirt Factory and a member of Grapevine Christian Church.
She was the widow of Johnnie Taylor who died in 1952.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Catherine Selby and Margaret Ann Phillips, both of Jeffersontown; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 27, at Foreman Funeral Home in Jeffersontown. A Funeral service was also held Wednesday, June 28, at Grapevine Christian Church. Burial was in Grapevine Cemetery.

Mencie Baxter, 58, of 443 Raven Street, died Saturday, June 24, 2000 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born June 4, 1942 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Tero and Christine Snow Ritchie.
She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Roy Baxter, Harrodsburg; one son, Nathan Baxter, Harrodsburg; one brother, Allen Ritchie, Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Mary Thurman, Ida Morris, and Barbara Hillard, all of Lawrenceburg. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Alisa Baxter.
Private funeral services were held Monday, June 26, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with David Ransdell officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

LOTTIE DEMAREE
Lottie B. Demaree, 85, of 615 Greenwood Drive, died Sunday, June 25, 2000 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born September 30, 1914 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late J. S. and Sarah Blane Reed Shirley. She was the widow of Hollie C. Demaree.
She owned and operated Milady Beauty shop for 50 years, was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, the Glad Hands Sunday School Class, a Sunday School teacher for 25 years, and a choir member.
Survivors include: one son, Glendon (Betty) Demaree, Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Reva Foster, Neva Lay and Wilma Graham; one brother, J. C. Shirley.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 28, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Eddie Russell officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Polie Stratton, Charles Annes, Chester Scott, Robert "Rags" Gritton, Brennan Royalty and Dr. Charles Hatcher. Honorary bearers were members of her Sunday School class.

Cole Douglas Walker Garner, infant son of Gregory Walker and Penney Lee Lewis Garner, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Survivors in addition to his parents, include: one brother, Garryt Younghouse; one sister, Sierra Younghouse; grandmother, Karen McGuire; maternal grandparents, Patricia and Bahman Ossivand; great grandmother, Sue Treadway; great grandfather, James Douglas Wheeler, all of Harrodsburg.

Walter Elliott, age 79, of 714 Elliott Lane, died Monday, June 26, 2000, at his residence.
Born July 22, 1920 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late John and Mary Elizabeth Russell Elliott.
He was a retired custodian of the Mercer County Courthouse, a farmer, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Ida Bottom Elliott, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Joann Elliott Watts, Mercer County; two brothers, Albert Elliott, Mercer County and Roy Leon Elliott, AL; three sisters, Gertie Mae Huffman, Cornishville, Catherine Pankey, Mercer County and Betsy Goodlett, Alton; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, James Paul Elliott and four brothers, Carl, Edgar, Maurice and Johnny Elliott.

Bernice Elizabeth Currens Carr, 79, formerly of 844 Warwick Rd., died Tuesday, June 27, 2000 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born July 16, 1920 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James and Beulah Merryman Currens. She was the widow of Matt Curry Carr.
She was a former employee of the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital and Kentucky State Hospital. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church where she was a former member of the Ladies Circle.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Hester, Stanford, and Mrs. Bonnie (David) Sebastian, Arlington, TX; three brothers, Eldorse Currens, Harrodsburg, Jimmie Currens, Mercer County and Lee Currens, Piedmont, SC; three sisters, Mrs. Gladys (James A.) Lewis, Mrs. Flossie (Dean) Renner and Mrs. Louise (William) Smock, all of Mercer County; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Haskell Currens, Louis Robards Currens and Clarence (Jake) Currens.
