Patsy Jean Noel Carrier, 71, Stanford, wife of Hollis Carrier, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born Aug. 26, 1934 in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Silas and Alpha Beavers Noel.
She was a homemaker, and the she was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: two sons, Troy (Becky) Carrier and Trevor (Theresa) Carrier, both of Stanford; four brothers, Allen Noel and John Noel, both of Springfield, and Lloyd Noel and Jack Noel, both of Willisburg; five sisters, Elizabeth Keen of Elizabethtown, Sue Whitehouse of Nelson County, Annelle Noel of Springfield, Mary Chambers of Danville, and Nancy Mitchell of Indiana; two grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 7 at Fox Funeral Home in Stanford with Bro. Steven Willingham officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tommy Keene Jamie, Kenneth and Aaron Noel, Shane Carrier and Brandon Newton.
Honorary pallbearers were Jarrard and Eric Noel and Kevin and David Keene.
DORIS DENKHOFF
Doris P. Denkhoff, 74, of Greenview Lane, formerly of Louisville, died Monday, September 5, 2005 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
Born May 15, 1931, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Peek Polley. She was the widow of John H. Denkhoff.
She retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company after 27 years of service. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Harrodsburg.
Survivors include: a daughter, Deborah Schmidt of Danville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, September 7, at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Louisville.

JOSEPH FOLEY
Joseph Lee Foley, 59, Lawrenceburg, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2005 in Versailles.
Born Dec. 24, 1945 in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Ivan Lee Foley and Isabelle Hale Foley of Danville.
He was a tree trimmer, having been employed by Asplundh Tree Company and most recently by Bostic Tree Service of Lawrenceburg.
In addition to his mother, survivors include: one son, Joseph Foley Jr. of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Jaime Eldridge of Waynesburg and Sheila Hafley of Junction City; two brothers, Jessie Foley and Billy Foley, both of Danville; one sister, Ruby Morrison of Salem, IN; six grandchildren, and companion Brenda Rakes Foley of Lexington.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Lawrence, Roy and James Foley.
The funeral was held Friday, Sept. 2 at Fox Funeral Home in Stanford with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating. Burial was in Danville Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Mike Hafley, Ricky and Ancil Dykes, Richard Lay, Steve Eldridge, Les Wilson and Roderick J. Shelton II.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy and Jessie Foley.
WILLIAM MARCUM
William Edgar Marcum, 63, 315 Pheasant Dr., husband of Sandra Lee Appleby Marcum, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005.
Born Dec. 20, 1941 in Rose Hill, VA, he was a son of the late Carl Sumpter and Opal Elizabeth Barnes Marcum.
He was a self-employed dry wall finisher.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Kimberly (Jeff) McGaha of Fredrick, MD; one son, James M. Marcum of Martinsburg, WV; three sisters, Betty Hawkins of Mt. Airy, MD, Linda (Jimmy) Williams of Jonesville, VA and Dianne (Bruce) Holland of Sandy Spring, MD; one brother, Ken (Pat) Marcum of Dallas, GA; two stepsons, Matt Kaetzel of Gaithersburg, MD and Tim (Alanna) Kaetzel of Germantown, MD; one stepdaughter, Carrie (Scott) Lasley of Salvisa; 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with James Harley officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill, VA.

MARK OVERTON
Mark Wayne Overton, 43, Mount Sterling, formerly of Nicholasville, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005 in Ohio of an apparent heart attack.
Born March 24, 1962 in Cleveland, OH he was a son of Bob and Mary Overton of Summerfield, FL and formerly of Nicholasville.
He attended Jessamine County High School where he was a member of the class of 1981, he was a former employee of the Ben Franklin Store in Edgewood Plaza in Nicholasville that his family owned, and at the time of his death, he was an employee of the Mount Sterling Kroger and of Keeneland. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats and Kansas City Chiefs fan, and he loved the music of Jimmy Buffet and of the Poptart Monkeys.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: two brothers, Mike Overton of Carrabelle, FL and Brad (Shelly) Overton of Marietta, GA; two nieces; one nephew, and numerous other relatives.
Memorial services will be Saturday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. at the fellowship hall of Edgewood Baptist Church, 717 South Main St., Nicholasville.
Visitation Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Nicholasville Rotary Club Scholarship Fund.
Arrangements are being handled by Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.
FRANCES SAMES
Frances Sames, 66, Harrodsburg, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born Sept. 7, 1938 in Lawrenceburg, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Temperance Peyton Drury.
She was a private nurse, and she was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Emily D. Sames of Campbellsville; two sons, Raymond L. Sames of Versailles and Machael A. Sames of Florida; three sisters, Alice and Judy Drury of Harrodsburg and Jean Kelly of Danville; three brothers, Fred Drury of Harrodsburg and Homer L. Drury and Oliver Drury, both of Knoxville, TN, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Calvin Drury.
A graveside service was conducted Sunday, Sept. 4 at the Spring Hill Cemetery.

WILLIAM BOTTOMS
William Bottoms, 52, Harrodsburg, husband of Peggy Bottoms, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born May 10, 1953 in DeKalb, IL, he was a son of the late Aaron L. Bottoms and Nina Burns Bottoms of Mercer County.
He was a Harrodsburg High School custodian, a former member of the Kentucky National Guard and of Deep Creek Baptist Church. He was a University of Kentucky and NASCAR fan, and he enjoyed fishing and western movies.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Timothy Bottoms and Eric Bottoms, both of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Michael “Bo” Bottoms of Mercer County and Kenny Bottoms of Harrodsburg; one sister, Linda (Wayne) Hager, also of Harrodsburg, and numerous relatives.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 14 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bobby Logue, Bro. Lewis Walters and Chaplain Gary Story officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tobo Moore, Jerry Arnold, Charles Curtsinger, Junior Tatum, Jimmy Carmickle and Steve Tyler.

IRENE CRUM
Irene Crum, 82, Louisville, widow of Haskell Crum, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005 at Baptist Village Care Center in Erlanger.
Born June 28, 1923 in Bondville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence O. and Emma Phillips Crum.
She worked in the accounting department for Belknap Hardware and was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church.
Survivors include: six brothers, Wayne Morris of Colonial Heights, VA, Lawrence Morris of Harrodsburg, Ralph Morris and Garret Morris of Salvisa, James R. Morris of Florence and Carroll Morris of New Carlisle, OH, and one sister, Shelby Morris of Crestview Hills.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Aubrey Morris and Bennett Morris, and one sister, Joyce Niederlehner.
The funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 10 at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home in Louisville. Burial was in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville.

WILLIAM LONG
William "Bill" Long, 75, widower of Frances Hughes Long, died Friday, September 9, 2005 at the Samaritan Hospital.
Born in Bourbon County to the late Chester and Martha Stigall Long, he grew up in North Middletown.
He loved to fish, was a member of Revival Tabernacle Church, and worked as a leatherman for Albright and Barkley for over 30 years.
Survivors include: two brothers, Roy (Mary) Long, Paris and Stanley (Rita) Long, Harrodsburg; two sisters, Dorothy (Dickie) Osborne and Mary Emma Shelley, both of North Middletown; a granddaughter Davina (Brian) Dodge of Lexington; and a grandson, Donnie Brown, Jr.; a great-grandchild, Brianna Dodge and a daughter-in-law Brenda (Donnie) Brown of Lexington; fifteen nieces and nephews and several good friends.
He was preceded in death by two sons Dallas and David Ginter, three brothers, Kenneth, Donald, and Sterling Long.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday, September 13, at Kerr Brothers, E. Main, Lexington, by Rev. John Jessup. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Mike, Stanley, Jim, and Roy Long, Dan Bundy.
Honorary bearers will be Donnie Brown Sr., Shawn Long and Donnie Brown Jr.
PHYLLIS MEDLEY
Phyllis Ellen Medley, 59, Harrodsburg, widow of Robert Medley Sr., died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Oct. 17, 1945 at Shakertown, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Ray and Flonnie Godbey Byrd.
She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church and was a former employee of Stone Manor Motel. She enjoyed her grandchildren and loved her pets and animals.
Survivors include: two sons, Charles (Cindi) Boswell and Robert Medley, both of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Dennia Loudin and Amy Wagers, both of Seymour, IN; three brothers, Joseph Byrd, Jerry Byrd and David Byrd, all of Harrodsburg; one sister, Janice (James) Turner of Danville; 13 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Scott Allen Medley, and one brother, Dennis Beryl Byrd.
The funeral was conducted Monday, Sept. 12 at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Susie Merriman, 65, Burgin, wife of Wilmer “Buck” Merriman, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Helen Roberts, 77, of Versailles, died Sunday September 11, 2005 in Lawrenceburg.
Born Feb. 22, 1928, in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Eaves Roberts.
Survivors include: two sisters, Mary King, Harrodsburg, and Corinne Duvall, Bowling Green; and two brothers, George Robert, Lawrenceburg, and Owen Roberts, Versailles.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, at Glen's Creek Baptist Church in Versailles by Rev. David Fee. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

JOSEPH KEEBORTZ
Joseph W. "Buddy" Keebortz, 82, husband of Marilyn Ernestine Reed Keebortz, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Ctr.
Born March 21, 1923 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Arthur Brown and Matilda Etta (Dennis) Keebortz.
He served in the Air Force. He was a retired factory employee and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and a former member of the Harrodsburg Lions Club.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: one sister, Shirley Keebortz, Harrodsburg; and one brother, Eulice W. (Geraldine) Keebortz, Lexington.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, September 23, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. Don Chase. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers will be Tim Ellis, Chad Ellis, Myron Ellis, Michael Keebortz, Douglas Keebortz, Timothy Keebortz, Carey Keebortz and Brad Abney.

William Webb Baker, 31, Chimney Rock Road, Herrington Woods, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 9, 1974 in Lexington, he was the son of Mary Linda King of Pine Island, FL and the late Fred Rodger Baker Jr.
He served in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserves. He was a member of Southside Christian Church.
Survivors include: one sister, Kathryn Manning Baker of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Rodger Baker Sr. of Lexington; two aunts, Barbara King English of Bowling Green and Sally King Luby of Charlotte, NC, and numerous other relatives.
The funeral was conducted Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Sam Stow officiating. Burial was in the Lexington Cemetery.

Evelyn Darland Carey, 88, Mackville Road, Springfield, widow of John William “Dick” Carey, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005 at her home.
Born Feb. 27, 1917 in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Amanda Ellen Moore Darland.
She was a homemaker, and she was a member of Mackville Church of Christ.
Survivors include: two sons, William Loyd “Pete” (Peggy) Carey and Jack Allen (Anna Helen) Carey, both of Springfield; one sister, Lorraine Pinkston of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Sutton and Rayma Boblitt; three brothers, Reatha Darland Sr., Shannon Darland and Marvin Darland.
The funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 21 at Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Frank Preston, minister of the Mackville Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
