Anna Belle Sims Fallis, 93, of Salvisa, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born July 24, 1912 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin L. and Nellie Gibson Sims and the widow of Howard Fallis Sr.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Salvisa Christian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Salvisa Homemakers Club and an avid reader.
Survivors include: one daughter, Geraldine S. (W. C.) Green of Versailles; one son, Howard Mitchell (Charlotte) Fallis Jr. of Salvisa; one sister, Christine Broughton of Ohio; six grandchildren, Mark Green, Kevin Green, Sean Green, Wendy Runnion, Mitzi Fallis, and Kirk Fallis; seven great-grandchildren, one cousin and two nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bill Mounts and Vicki Ray officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark Green, Kevin Green, Sean Green, Kirk Fallis, Mark Runnion, Wayne Broughton and Kenneth Taylor.

MARY GIFFORD
Mary Grigsby Gifford, 88, of Agusta, GA, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005 at St. Joseph Hospice Center in Agusta, GA.
Born April 26, 1917 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Noe Forsythe Finnell III.
She was a seamstress for many years and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Harrodsburg.
Survivors include: one son, John W. (Becky) Grigsby III of Martinez, GA; two grandsons, John W. (Pauline) Grigsby IV and Shaun Allin (Christie) Grigsby; one granddaughter, Mari-Helen Elizabeth Grigsby, and one great-granddaughter, Riley Charlotte Grigsby.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, Dec. 21 at Spring Hill Cemetery by Dr. Joe Tarry.
CORA KIRK
Cora Mayfield Kirk, 84, of Owensboro, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005 at the Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owensboro.
Born Feb. 6, 1921 in Daviess County, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Katie Yeiser Mayfield and the widow of Kenneth O. Kirk.
She had worked for General Electric (Ken-Rad) and was an active member of Buena Vista Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She was past president of the PTA at Longfellow, was and active volunteer in the community and was involved in Scouts.
Survivors include: three sons, Thomas M. (Patti) Kirk of Harrodsburg, David O. (Jean) Kirk and Larry R. (Jeanne) Kirk, both of Owensboro; one daughter, Judith A. Kirk of Bloomington, IN; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 21 at the James H. Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Owensboro. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro.

NANCY PROCTOR
Nancy Mayes Proctor, 43, of 371 Cornishville St., died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005 at her home.
Born Sept. 2, 1962 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Mayes and Vergie Phillips Dean and the wife of Hobert Proctor.
She worked in quality control at Trim Masters, Inc. in Harrodsburg and was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church in Waynesburg. She had a great love for horses and old cars.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: her mother-in-law, Margaret Votaw Proctor of Mercer County; one brother, Carl Chris Watts of Lexington; three sisters, Aileen Withered of Moores Hill, IN, Charlene Steele Timms of Wisconsin and Mary Watts Ross of Harrodsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Humphrey, Jessie Dean, Bobby Gray, Sonny Thompson, Benny Ross and Ronnie Compton.

BARBARA SHEARER
Barbara Olds Shearer, 62, of Gwinn Island Road, Danville, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Martha Jane McDonald Olds.
She was a homemaker, a member of Burgin Homemakers and Peaks Mill Christian Church.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, December 16, at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel in Frankfort by the Rev. Ron McKinney. Burial will be in Peaks Mill Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Charles R. Shearer; two sons, Anthony C. Shearer, Danville, and Gregory A. Shearer, Harrodsburg; one sister, Wanda Sue Curtis, Danville; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steven, Corey and Jacob Vincent, Chad and Levi Shearer and David Mason.

PATRICIA BOTTOMS
Patricia Gayle Tingle Bottoms, 53, of Springfield, died Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
Born July 19, 1952 in Marion County, she was the daughter of the late Randall and Lola Goodlett Tingle and was the wife of Dale Bottoms.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: one son, Carl Bottoms of Springfield; one daughter, Christina Lynn Poynter of Harrodsburg; one brother, David (Janice) Tingle of Springfield; two sisters, Carol Sue (David) Miller and Barbara Coffey, both of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sunday, July 2 at the Carey and Sons Funeral Home in Springfield with the Rev. John Watts, pastor of the Thompsonville Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Peter Cemetery in Mackville.
Pallbearers were Tony and Dale Tingle, David Randall Tingle II, Donnie Miller, Gary Sanford and Bud Miller.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike and Jeff Tingle.
JAMES DEAN JR.
James L. Dean Jr., 68, of Delanco, NJ, died July 3, 2006 at his home.
Born in Salvisa, he was the husband of Ethel M. Butler Dean.
He served in the U.S. Army as a chief warrant officer, and he worked as a purchasing agent for Townsend Machine Company in Wrightstown, NJ, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Dobbins Memorial United Methodist Church in Delanco.
Survivors include: three daughters, Krystine (Thelton) Lee of Delanco, Kimberly Miller and Kaylee (Robert) Krogulski, both of Mt. Laurel, NJ; one son, Kenneth Dean, and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 7 at the Sweeney Funeral Home in Riverside, NJ.

MARVIN ELDRIDGE
Marvin Wade Eldridge, 42, of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, June 29, 2006.
Born July 19, 1963 in Lexington, he was the son of Donald Joseph Sr. and Joyce Marie Allen Eldridge of Palm Beach Garden, FL.
He was a brick mason and former employee of Willie Turpin Masonry Company.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: two sons, Tyler Scott Eldridge and Marvin Wade Eldridge Jr., both of Salvisa; one brother, Donald (Pam) J. Eldridge Jr. of Palm Beach Garden, FL; one niece, and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 5 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Cleo Cox officiating. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery in Lexington.
Pallbearers were Tyler Eldridge, Marvin Eldridge Jr., Derek Williams, Brandon Reed, Donald Eldridge Jr. and Keith Helton.
MARVIN ELDRIDGE
Local Man Dies After Hit By Truck
A Harrodsburg man suffered fatal injuries early last Thursday morning when he was struck by a vehicle on U.S. 127 North 2.5 miles north of Harrodsburg near the Twin Hills Drive-In Theater.
Marvin W. Eldridge, 42, was walking in the right northbound lane of the highway at 5:18 a.m. when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by Alfred T. Fisher, 61, of Harrodsburg.
Eldridge was pronounced dead at the scene by Mercer County Deputy Coroner Scott Moseley. Eldridge suffered multiple head and torso injuries, according to Mercer County Coroner Sonny Ransdell.
Kentucky State Trooper Brandon Curlis investigated the accident and said alcohol was not suspected to be a contributing factor on the part of Fisher.
Harrodsburg Police Chief Ernie Kelty said a call came into the police department that someone was walking on the highway and Ptl. O. C. Jones was sent to investigate, but Eldridge was struck by the truck before Jones arrived at the scene.
The Mercer County EMS also responded to the scene.
Eldridge was an employee of Willie turpin Masonry Company. He is survived by his parents, Joyce and Donald Eldridge Sr. of Palm Beach Garden, FL, and two sons, Tyler S. Eldridge and Marvin W. Eldridge Jr., both of Salvisa.
NOVELLA SEBASTIAN
Novella Clark Johnson Sebastian, 91, formerly of Winchester, died Friday, June 30, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
She was the widow of William Johnson and Elmer Sebastian Sr.
Survivors include: one daughter, Lois Johnson Moore of Harrodsburg.
Services were held Monday, July 3 at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home in Winchester.

JODIE TANNER
Jodie Tanner, 92, of Bowling Green, formerly of Richmond, died Friday, June 30, 2006 at his home.
A native of Rockfield, he was the son of the late Alexander and Blanch Watwood Tanner and was the husband of Alene Brown Tanner.
He was employed by Beatrice Foods as a manager for Meadow Gold Ice Cream in Richmond for 23 years. Upon retirement, he became involved in raising beef cattle at Middle Fork Farms.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, holding the rank of Seaman First Class. He was a member of the Lehman Avenue Church of Christ, the Warren County Beef Cattle Association and was a Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Dr. James Tanner (Dr. Bonnie Tanner) of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Vicky Jane Thurman of Bowling Green; two grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Phillips.
Services were held Monday, July 3 at the Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
MILDRED ANDERSON
Mildred Jewell Anderson, 68, of New Dixville Road, died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born May 20, 1938 in Perryville, she was the daughter of the late William and Ocell Jones Fuell.
She was a retired supervisor for Cricketeer Manufacturing Company.
Survivors include: two sons, Marty Dale (Elizabeth) Thornton of Florida and William Ronnie (Diane) Thornton of Harrodsburg, and four grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, July 12 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steve Carrier, Dale Tingle, J.D. Fuell, David Whittinghill, Jerard Carrier and William T. Devine.

LLOYD ANDERSON
William Lloyd Anderson, 66, of Danville, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Oct. 21, 1939 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Gentry and Katherine Upton Anderson.
He was a self-employed maintenance worker. He had worked at Bright’s Bottled Gas and Shakertown, and most recently had managed the Keene Lodge Motor Inn in Versailles. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and making people laugh.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kelly Anderson of Stanford; one brother, Morris Anderson of Alexandria; one granddaughter, Victoria Rose Lunsford; one grandson, Caleb Lunsford; two nieces, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by one son, Anthony “Bill” Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
