Virginia “Jenny” Lee Osborne Collins, 63, of Salvisa, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 8, 1943 in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Fred A. and Dorothy Ellen Hollifield Osborne and was the wife of William E. Collins Jr.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Anderson Christian Church and a graduate of LaFayette High School in Lexington. She enjoyed crafts, antiques, dolls and cooking.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: three sons, William A. (Chris) Collins of Walton, IN, Glenn A. Collins and Mark B. (Cindy) Collins, both of Lawrenceburg; two sisters, Helen (Carter) Duer of Georgetown and Becky Bruhn of Austin, TX, and nine grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, July 10 at the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Bro. Vernon Huber officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

MARILYN DENNY
Marilyn M. Denny, 67, of Perryville Road, died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born May 7, 1939 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Margie Mae Carter McGlone and was the wife of Claude Thomas “Tom” Denny.
She was a registered nurse at Northpoint Training Center and a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: one sister, Noreta (Bill) Royalty of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Bill (Linda) McGlone, Jim (Rita) McGlone and Bernie (Leticia) McGlone, all of Harrodsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, July 11 at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Fathers Frank Osburg, Joe Muench, Danny Schwendeman and Stanley Osbourne officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dale Heise, Bobby Reister, Kevin Horn, Bill Royalty, Doc McKinney and Jesse Gilpin.
Honorary pallbearers were Woody Wilson, Tom Baker, Clay McGlone, Tommy McGlone, John Royalty, Tandy Quisenberry, Erich Ruehs, Alex Bentley, Martin Feamster, Bill Huff and members of American Legion Post #48 of Danville.
AL HOOD
William Alfred “Al” Hood, 89, of Louisville, formerly of Mercer County, died Saturday, July 8, 2006.
A native of Pulaski County, he was born Jan. 14, 1917. He was the son of the late Charles H. and Cora Lee Irvine Hood and was the widower of Frances Britton Hood.
He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and was an Army veteran. He was a retired vice-president of the Louisville Gas and Electric Company where he worked 41 years. He was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church in Louisville.
Survivors include: two daughters, Ann Britton (Frank) Brooks and Laura Jill (Jim) Soder, both of Louisville; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 13 at 2:30 p.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 14 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2800 Frankfort Ave. in Louisville.
Visitation will be at the church Friday after 10:30 a.m.

DR. JOE TARRY
Dr. Joe E. Tarry III, 68, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Rockcastle Hospital and Respiratory Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
Born Jan. 31, 1938 in Murray, he was the son of Roberta Puckett Tarry of Paducah and the late Joe E. Tarry and was the husband of Elaine Tarry.
He was the minister of the United Presbyterian Church in Harrodsburg. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Rotary Club, a director of the Ragged Edge Community Theatre and a member of the Harrodsburg Historical Society. He was a 1961 graduate of Murray State University where he earned a bachelor of music education, a 1963 graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a bachelor of church music, a 1966 graduate of George Peabody College for Teachers with a master¹s of music, and a 1971 Florida State University graduate with a Ph.D. in music. He was a retired professor of music from Cumberland College where he also served as the head of the music department.
After retiring, he attended Lexington Theological Seminary to further his studies in ministry. He was a minister in Hyden, KY, before coming to Harrodsburg.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include: one son, Joe E. Tarry IV of Murray; one daughter, Elizabeth (John) Crowe of Ann Arbor, MI; one brother, Charles Tarry of Paducah; two step-sons, Wayne (Sharon) Perkins and Dr. Eddie Perkins, both of Williamsburg; three grandchildren, one nephew and one niece.
Services were held Monday, July 10 at the United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charles Dupier, Rollin Tarter and the Rev. Jackie Linberg officiating. Burial was Tuesday in Murray City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Saxon, Stephen Tarry, Wayne Perkins, Eddie Perkins, Ralph Lynch and Dr. Jim Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Jackson, Bill Lively, David Taylor, Pete Chiericozzi, Dr. Robert DeFoor, Father Joe Muench, the Rev. Steven Hall, and members of The Session of the United Presbyterian Church: Jane Adrian, Pam Baughman, Jim Baxter, David Berry, Patricia Davis, Douglas Ferguson, Margaret Knapp, David Lynn, Leslie Mattacola, Mary Nicholson, Patricia Rockas and David Weber.

LILLIAN TYLER
Lillian Hunter Collier Tyler, 72, of Burgin, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 17, 1934 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Brack and Zannar McGinnis Collier and was the widow of Curtis Tyler.
She was a former glass inspector at Corning Glass of Harrodsburg. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and the Kentucky Right to Life chapter.
Survivors include: three sons, Dennis (Sharon) Tyler, Chuck (Darlene) Tyler and John David (Bobbi) Tyler, all of Mercer County; one sister, Elizabeth Scott of Temperance, MI; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Belve Collier, and three sisters, Lee Ora Tyler, Alma Isham and Violet Steele.
Services were held Monday, July 10 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial was in Kirkwood Baptist Church Cemetery.
FUDD BEGLEY
Elmer “Fudd” Begley Jr., 53, of Richmond, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospice Care in Lexington.
Born in Lexington, he was the son of the late Elmer and Barbara Hall Begley.
He was a drywaller all his life and loved to meet new people.
Survivors include: two sons, Brian Begley of Harrodsburg and Ben Begley; one daughter, Gina Begley; one brother, Thomas (Gerri) Begley; three sisters, Sharon Jamison, Patricia Clark and Pamela (Junior) Perkins, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Dale Begley.
Services were held Wednesday, July 19 at the Oldham, Roberts and Powell Funeral Home in Richmond with Leonard Plowman officiating. Burial was in Ashcraft Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul White, David Evans, Gary Evans, George Moore, James Northern, Shannon Kirby, Colton Clark and David Lemoine.

JEANETTE BURKE
Jeanette “Judy” Burke, 81, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, July 17, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Sept. 1, 1924 in Wise County, VA, she was the daughter of the late George and Callie Steele Jackson and was the widow of Babe Ruth Burke.
She was a retired manager of department stores and a member of the Millville Avenue Church of God in Ohio. She was also a member of the Mercer Concerned Citizens and a volunteer at the Christian Life Center.
Survivors include: one daughter, Patricia Y. Burke of Harrodsburg, and three brothers, Bill Burke of Norton, VA, Charles Burke of Kingsport, TN, and Wayne Burke of Phoenix, AZ.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hamilton, OH.
Visitation Wednesday, July 19 from 5-7 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel in Harrodsburg.

PHYLLIS CROMER
Phyllis Jean Muncie Cromer, age 66 of Eubank, died Friday, July 14, 2006 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
She was born May 16, 1940 in Crab Orchard, to the late Frank and Lucy Smith Muncie.
She was a member of Watts Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: five daughters, Ann Marie (Allen) Collins, Betty (Ronnie) Taylor, Beth (Keith) Caudill, Shannon Cromer, and Linda (Kelvin) Johnson, all of Crab Orchard; one son, Virgil Ray Comer, Crab Orchard; three sisters, Simonetta (John) Britton, Burgin, Lena Rivers Wilson, Stanford, and Sherrie (Johnny) Garner, Crab Orchard; one brother, Curtis Muncie, Danville; a companion, Dean Reynolds, Eubank, and his sons, Danny and Kelly Reynolds; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Richard Muncie, and a sister, Sandra Lee Muncie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, at the McKnight Funeral Home Chapel in Crab Orchard with Bro. Shelby Reynolds, Bro Dan. Gutenson and Bro. Rick Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Crab Orchard Cemetery.

Ellen Teater Hurt, 92, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.

ROBERT ISAAC
Robert E. Isaac, 77, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Born April 24, 1929 in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Clyde and Nannie Gill Isaac and was the husband of Rita Wells Isaac.
He was a retired water hauler and former construction worker and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Melissa Anne (Chris) Gullett and Bobbie Frances (Daniel) Potts, both of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Ray Isaac and Bruce Mastin, both of Nicholasville; two sisters, Cindy Huff of Nicholasville and Juanita Fredricks of Florida; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Reed and Lena Bruner.
Services were held Wednesday, July 19 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Raymond Isaac officiating. Burial was in Grapevine Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Satterly, Jeff Lanham, Scott Cornish, Eddie Burton, Larry Wagner and Ronnie Wells.
DOUGLAS ISHAM
Douglas Wayne Isham, 48, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at his home.
Born April 3, 1958 in Mercer County, he was the son of Waldon C. “Connie” and Donna Dearinger Isham of Harrodsburg and was the husband of Leslie Sue Stephens Isham.
He was a truck driver for Bunzl Distribution in Louisville and was a member of Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church. He also attended Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include: one stepson, Larry J. Standiford II of Lexington; two sisters, Paula Renee (Rory) Click and Sheila Jo (Kenny) Caudill, both of Mercer County, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21 at 2 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Derek Baker officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve McIntosh, Bobby Reister, Jimmy Ellis, Dale Halcomb, Chuck Estes and Nick Yeast.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Allen, Boo Royalty, and Kenneth Robinson.

Guster Jenkins Jr., 77, of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born April 18, 1929 he was the son of the late Cordie Belle Carr Jenkins and Guster Jenkins Sr. and was the husband of Geneva Kirkland Jenkins.
He was a retired tile contractor and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church where he was a senior deacon. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Pamela (Brad) Jenkins-Sanford of Nashville, TN, and Susan (James) Wysong of Danville; two brothers, Stanley (Joyce) Jenkins of Harrodsburg and James (Helen) Jenkins of Lexington; two sisters, Eva (Buford) Stine of Harrodsburg and Dorothy (Oscar) Drury of Lexington; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, July 21 at 2 p.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Kirkland, Carroll Sanford, Buford Noel, Norman Drury, Marshall Drury, Kevin Kirkland, Jimmy Noel and Glenn Reynolds.

Shirley Raider, 59, of Orlando, KY, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at her home.
Born Feb. 9, 1947 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Minnie Clark Hurst and was the wife of Ronald Raider.
She was a former nurse’s aid and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Harrodsburg.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: three daughters, Tracy Davis of Eubank, and Terri Durham and Amanda Raider, both of Orlando; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Jason Glenn Raider; one daughter, Rhonda Nicole Raider, and three brothers, J.W., Kenneth and Garnett Hurst.
Services were held Wednesday, July 19 at the Maple Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Burton officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
