RALPH CHAMPION

Ralph Omar Champion, 65, of Lawrenceburg, died Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of the late Jessie Baxter and Charles Earldy Champion.

He was born March 5, 1941 in Wayne County.

He was a graduate of Western Anderson High School and a member of Shiloh Christian Church. He was a former employee of the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Survivors include: his wife, Roxie Bond Champion; two daughters, Jan Cammack (Jay) Brown, Mercer County, Brenna Champion (David) Keller, Frankfort; two granddaughters, Nichole Cammack, Louisville, and Stephany Keller Rice, Frankfort; a great-granddaughter, Ana Sophia Keller, Frankfort; two brothers, Robert (Norma) Champion, Lawrenceburg and William Carson Buck, Greenfield, IN; three sisters, Aileen (Leonard C.) Beasley, Houston, TX, Leona Blake, Lewisville, IN, and Jessie Mae (Frank) Drury, Lawrenceburg.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Hahn, Hazel Miller and Nellie Dishman Edwards.

He will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Assoc., 1941 Bishop Lane, Suite 110, Louisville, KY 40218.

The Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, is in charge of arrangements.

JAMES GOODLETT
James Preston Goodlett, 55, of Talmage-Mayo Road, Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

Born Jan. 24, 1951 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Cora Gritton and Charles T. Goodlett Sr., and was the husband of Betty Ann McCroskey Goodlett.

He was a self-employed dairy farmer and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Chris (Jennifer) Goodlett of Mercer County; four sisters, Barbara Jean Blackburn, Linda Ann Rost and Elizabeth Goodlett, all of Louisville, and Brenda Joyce Drury of Bardstown; eight brothers, Leon Goodlett and Donald Goodlett, both of Nicholasville, John Alvin Goodlett, Joe Martin Goodlett, Tommy Lee Goodlett and Jerry Wayne Goodlett, all of Mercer County, Cleo Goodlett of Barbourville and Michael Ray Goodlett of Harrodsburg, and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles T. Goodlett Jr.

Services will be held Thursday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Cleo Goodlett, John David Lane and Brian Burkehead officiating. Burial will be on the James Goodlett Farm.

Pallbearers will be Paul Wilson, Donald Sexton, Brent Hazelwood, Curt Ransdell, Mark Burberry, Darrell Edgington, Daniel Garcia and Glenn Devine.

Visitation at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel Wednesday after 5 p.m., and at the church Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

AUBREY GREEN
William Aubrey Green, 91, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.

Born June 2, 1915 in Fayette County, he was the son of the late William and Ola Scott Green, and was the widower of Marjorie Dotson Green.

He was a retired farmer and was an employee of Kroger for several years.

Survivors include: four daughters, Dorothy G. (Darrell) Brock and Lois (Tommy) Logue, both of Mercer County, Betty Ann (Jack) Royalty of Fayette County and Patty Green of Danville; three sons, Donald M. (Mary Ann) Green of Mercer County, C. Wayne (Linda) Green of Fayette County and Frank W. (Deloris) Green of Anderson County; one sister, Anna McFarland of Fayette County; one brother, William M. Green of Fayette County; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Wise and Myrtle Newman.

Services were held Monday, Aug. 14 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with David Green and John Hockersmith III officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Danny Brock, Kevin Royalty, Monty McRay, Larry Phillips, Bobby Turner and Steve Sims.

Honorary pallbearers were Louis Sea, Anthony Hamlin, Robert and Lee Prather and Bill Rawlings.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvisa Methodist Church, Salvisa, KY 40372.

ONA HALL
Ona Lou Taylor Hall, 93, of Franks Court, Harrodsburg, died Aug. 10, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born June 11, 1913 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Sarah Jane Mullinix Taylor, and was the widow of James Clarence Hall.

She was a former laundry worker and homemaker, and was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. She was active with the Mercer County Senior Citizens and was involved with the Widow to Widow group.

Survivors include: two sons, James Everett Hall of Harrodsburg and George Harrison Hall of Nicholasville; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Jerry Thomas, David Russell and Charles Kenneth Hall, five brothers and five sisters.

Services were held Monday, Aug. 14 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rick Snyder and Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Peters Cemetery in Mackville.

Pallbearers were Christopher David Hall, Mike Hall, Doug Hall, Rickey Hall, Keith Hall, Josh Brummett and Logan Hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mercer County Senior Citizens, 1475 Louisville Rd., Harrodsburg, KY 40330, or to the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, P.O. Box 286, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.

BUDDY REECHER
Buddy Leon Reecher, 22, of Danville, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006. He was the son of Richard and Gayle Ashford Reecher of Danville.

Services will be held Friday, Aug. 18 at 2:30 p.m. at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Danville with Harold Best and Steve Owens officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.

JOYCE ROBINSON
Joyce Ann Byrd Robinson, of Lexington, died Sunday, August 13, 2006.

Born in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Nora Johnson Sims of Harrodsburg and Wilson Byrd of Danville, and was the wife of Dale Robinson.

In addition to her husband and parents, survivors include: four sons, Tommy, James, Ryan and Chris Robinson; one daughter, Lauren Robinson; two sisters, Barbara James and Flossie Garland; five grandchildren, Jayden, Jason, Leigha, T. J. and Samantha, and special niece and nephew, Alicia Broughton and Robert Michael Sanders.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Byrd.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 16 at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery.

ADAM STEVENS
Adam L. Stevens, 21, of Buckeye Road, Lancaster, died Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Born Aug. 12, 1984, in Illinois, he was the son of Dennis Ray and Sandra Baum Stevens of Lancaster.

He was a carpenter, wrestler for USWF Wrestling Federation and member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church.

Survivors include: one son, Brett M. Stevens, Stanford; two brothers, Phillip Stevens, Harrodsburg, and Jason R. Stevens, St. Louis.

Services for will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 14, at the Spurlin Funeral Home, Lancaster, by Rev. David Shoot. Burial will be Lancaster Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bradley, Aron and Justin Stevens, Brandon Wilson, Tom Wing and Josh Jones.

Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may go to The Adam Stevens' Memorial Fund, Community Trust Bank, P.O. Box 1560, Hustonville Road, Danville, Ky. 40423.

WILLIAM WATTS
William T. Watts, 75, of Harrodsburg, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006 at his home.

Born March 3, 1931 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Strother and Gertrude Maddox Watts, and was the widower of Christine Claunch Watts.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retiring after 30 years of service.

Survivors include: one son, Richard Watts of Harrodsburg; one sister, Jane Watts of Harrodsburg, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Lewis and Donald Watts; one sister, Lottie Marie Watts; one half-brother, Nelson Watts, and three half-sisters, Nellie Watts, Georgia Bottoms and Myrtle Louallen.

Services were held Monday Aug. 14 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Matthew Atha officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gary Watts, Joe Russell, Carl T. Watts, Lawrence Watts, Wayne Russell, Raymond Watts Jr., Kenny Watts, Lonnie Griffin, and Mark Watts.

Honorary pallbearers were Brent Watts and Tommy Estes.

RANDALL WORLEY
Randall Lee Worley, 43, of Clovis, CA, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006 at the Hinds Hospice House in Fresno, CA.

Born Oct. 25, 1962 in Niles, MI, he was the son of Fred Worley of Mercer County and Nancy Lyons of Michigan, and was the husband of Penny Worley.

In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include: three daughters, Vanessa and Jennifer Worley, both of Clovis, and Stephanie Worley of Fort Wayne, IN; one sister, Dianna Heck of Orange County, CA, and one brother, Rick Worley of Lexington.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 26 in Clovis.

ELIZABETH BLACKBURN
Elizabeth Ann McClain Blackburn, 74, widow of R. T. Blackburn, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006.

Survivors include: two sons, Phillip Taylor (Rhonda) Blackburn of Frankfort and Anthony Wayne “Tony” Blackburn of Hustonville; two daughters, Regina Jo (Dickie) Caldwell of Lawrenceburg and Susan Lynn Blackburn of Lexington; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, Aug. 23 at the Betts and West Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Henry officiating. Burial was in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Tony, Scott and Bradley Blackburn, Jason and Phillip Caldwell and Ryan Blackburn.

Honorary pallbearers were Kelli Noftsger, Heather Bivens, Brandy Smith, Heather Long and Ashlee Blackburn.

PAUL DEVINE
Paul Andrew Devine, 20, of Owensboro, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006 at the Wendell Foster’s Campus For Developmental Disabilities.

Born Dec. 12, 1985 in Warren County, he was the son of Donald and Susan Phelps Devine of Bowling Green.

He was a member of the Burton Memorial Baptist Church in Bowling Green.

In addition to his parents, survivors include: one sister, Katherine Devine of Bowling Green; maternal grandparents, Joan and Raleigh Phelphs of Bowling Green; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and the Wendell Foster’s family in Owenboro.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Paul and Louise Devine.

Services were held Monday, Aug. 21 at the J.C. Kirby and Son Funeral Chapel in Bowling Green. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery 2.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wendell Foster’s Campus for Developmental Disabilities, 815 E. Triplett, Owensboro, KY 42303.

BUDDY REECHER
Buddy Reecher, 22, of Danville, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born Feb. 24, 1984 in Cheverly, MD, he was the son of Richard Edwin and Gayle Ashford Reecher of Danville.

He was a Kroger employee and personal caregiver, and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Danville.

Survivors include: one sister, Rebecca Lynn (Lee) Baker of Danville; one step-brother, Steven Holland of Bealeton, VA; four step-sisters, Kim (Steve) Owens of Danville, Debbie (Chuck) Butler of Harrodsburg, Pam (Sam) Hannah of Rochester, NY, and Bonnie (Freddy) Davidson of Culpepper, VA, and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Friday, Aug. 18 at the Immanuel Baptist Church with Harold Best and Steve Owens officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kevin Butler, Keaton Henderson, Matt Holland, Jason Emerson, Clinton Owens and Joshua Owens.

Honorary pallbearers were Kalynn Vanoy, Sylvia Wheeler, Samantha Wheeler, Bethany Owens, John Wheeler, Lee Baker and Cameron Owens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church, Faulkner Ln., Danville, KY 40422. Ransdell Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

ROSE WALTON

Rose Phelps Walton, 60, of 109 Sable Avenue, Versailles, wife of Lewis R. Walton died Sunday, August 20, 2006.

Born May 6, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Arvil C. and Sarah Margaret Cotton Phelps.

A retired 22 year employee of Texas Instruments, she was a member of the Versailles Pentecostal Church of God.

In addition to her husband of 42 years, she is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Gail (Scott) Franklin, Georgetown, Lou Ann Abner, Versailles; one son, Thomas L. (Tracy) Walton, Versailles; four sisters, Christine Sharp and Geraldine White, both of Georgetown, Mary Elizabeth Robinson, Lexington, Julie Ballard, Dayton, OH; four brothers, Arvil Phelps Jr. and Robert Phelps, both of Versailles, Ray Phelps, Oklahoma, James Phelps, Harrodsburg, and six grandchildren, Jesse Abner, Michelle Callahan, Josh Preston, Ronnie Callahan, Thomas Abner, and Samantha Walton.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, at the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, Versailles, with Rev. Jim Smith and James Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Rose Crest Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pentecostal Church of God, 278 Depot St., Versailles, KY 40383
