Randall Lewis, 81, of Gaither Avenue, Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born April 22, 1925, he was the son of the late Goldie and Minnie Robinson Lewis, and was the husband of Betty Middleton.
He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Dry Branch Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Haldon Lewis of Harrodsburg and Randy Lewis of Big Hill; five daughters, Brenda Baxter, Debbie Peavler, and Anna Mae, Irene and Kathleen Lewis, all of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Goldie Lewis of Lawrenceburg, and Goodloe and Marvin Lewis, both of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cleo, James, and Marshall Lewis.
Services will be held Friday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. Donnie Releford officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral chapel Friday after 11 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Shewmaker, Bobby Oneill, Kevin and Bobby Lewis, Timothy and Eric Bottoms, and Joe Middleton.
Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
SARA MCGEE
Sara Virginia Rankin McGee, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2006, three days before her 85th birthday.
Born September 17, 1921 in Harrodsburg, KY, she was the daughter of the late C. E. and Bess Bolton Rankin.
A graduate of Harrodsburg High School, she was on the debate team, was president and Valedictorian of her class. She was a Business School graduate and was employed as a Legal Secretary and court reporter.
An active life long member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church, she also served her community as president of the Harrodsburg Woman’s Club, the Parent Teachers Association and Band Parents.
She was known as an excellent bridge player and enthusiastic reader and enjoyed flower gardening and swimming.
Survivors include: a daughter, Elizabeth M. (James) Allison; a son, James A. (Linda) McGee III; a granddaughter, Leigh Allison (Fred) Schaefer; three grandsons, Richard B. Allison, James A. (Dawn) McGee IV, and Christopher A. McGee. Also surviving are a great-granddaughter and three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Rankin McGee.
Funeral services at 1:30 p.m. September 18 at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Reverend Jackie Linberg with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Rick Allison, James and Chris McGee, Fred Schaefer, Ron Reed and David Taylor.
ADAM SEWELL
Robert Adam Sewell, 31, of Sparr, FL, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006.
He was the son of Lewis and Cecilia Ann Parker Crosier of Anthony, FL. His mother is a native of Harrodsburg.
He was a Catholic, a certified welder, and he loved scuba diving.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: one sister, Stephanie (Steve) Perry of Jacksonville, FL; grandmother, Myrtle Crosier of Louisville; one aunt, Bonnie (Gary) Moore of Burgin; one uncle, Ken Parker II of Petaluma, CA; one niece, Sasha Perry of Jacksonville, FL, and several cousins.
A visitation was held in Ocala, FL Sept. 4. A funeral mass will be held at a later date with interment at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church columbarium.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
EMMA TEATER
Emma McRay Teater, 88, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006 at the Charleston Health Care Center in Danville.
Born Jan. 7, 1918 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Amanda (Black) McCray, and was the widow of Cohen Teater,
She was a retired hairdresser.
Survivors include: one daughter, Gloria Teater Jennings of Lexington; one sister, Naomi Anderson of Columbus, IN, and one brother, Emmerson McCray of Harrodsburg.
Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dann Masden officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral chapel Thursday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
MARGIE VOORHIES
Margie Marie Voorhies, age 78, died Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center, Harrodsburg, KY.
Born February 25, 1928 in Stanford, KY, she was the daughter of the late James and Della (Carey) Coffman and widow of Maurice E. Voorhies.
She was a retired seamstress at Cricketeer Mfg. Co. and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include: one daughter: Sue (Stevie) Carol Simpson of Harrodsburg, KY; and one son: Maurice Douglas Voorhies of Lawrenceburg, KY; three sisters: Ruby West of Danville, KY, Helen (Dudley) Long of Harrodsburg, KY, Mable (Hanley) Watts of Harrodsburg, KY; three grandchildren: Jane E. McCoy; William Douglas Voorhies; Joshua (Amanda) Andrew McCoy; two great grandchildren: Jonathon Wayne McCoy, and Thomas Ray McCoy; two step great grandchild, Stevie Clay Simpson, and Zachary Simpson.
She was predeceased by a daughter-in law: Patricia Morris Voorhies; a sister: Dorothy Coffman, and two brothers: Cecil and Lewis Coffman.
Funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Dann Masden, with burial in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers are: Dennis Voorhies, John Bohman, Paul Bohman, Mark Bowman, William Voorhies, Joshua McCoy.

SALLY WILLHOITE
Sally Letitia Willhoite, 67, of Harrodswood Dr., Frankfort, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at her residence following a long illness.
Born on January 22, 1939, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Ethel King Kirkpatrick. She was the widow of Willis Edgar Willhoite.
She was formerly a private caregiver. She was a member of New Life Worship Center.
She is survived by: three daughters, Phyllis Darnell, Marilynn Hellard and Jamie Lewis, all of Frankfort; two brothers, Ted Kirkpatrick and Connie Kirkpatrick, both of Harrodsburg; five sisters, Dora Holt, Harrodsburg, Jackie Purcell, CA, Ida Peavler, Dayton, OH, Eunice Deaton, Harlan, and JoAnn Price, Goldsboro, NC, six grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, and a close companion, Willie Carrier, Frankfort.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Luster.
Memorial Services were conducted Thursday, September 14, at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel, Frankfort. Pastor Jeff Eaton officiated.
SAYDEE YEAST
Saydee Renee Yeast, 7 weeks old, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington.
Born July 21, 2006 in Lexington, she was the daughter of Julius Alexander Yeast and Erica Lynch, both of Lexington.
In addition to her parents, survivors include: three brothers, Markel Alexander, Isaiah Tyrique and Bryson Jamal Yeast, all of Lexington; maternal grandmother, Michele Lynch of Danville; maternal grandfather, Hugh Lynch of Danville; maternal great-grandparents, Norman and Dorothy Green of Danville; paternal grandparents, Larry and Cequela Yeast of Harrodsburg; paternal grandmother, Vicki Stigall of Lexington, and paternal great-grandmother, Geneva Penman of Harrodsburg.
Services were held Friday, Sept. 15 at the Centennial Baptist Church with Elder J.D. Short III and Bro. Donald Wayne Smith officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery in Danville.
The Parks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
MILITARY RITES
Douglas Laws Post #52, American Legion, Post #6935, V.F.W. and D.A.V. Post #54 conducted military rites for Tony Gray at Spring Hill Cemetery Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006.
Those attending were Joe Harlow, Curtis Sherrow, Tom Rappleye, Lucian Landers, Allen Teele, J.L Devine, Floyd Shirley and Howard H. Howells Sr.
Bugler was Zenah Teater III.

LONNIE BOSWELL
Lonnie D. Boswell, 73, of Springfield, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
Born April 1, 1933 in Washington County, he was the son of the late M.A. and Viva Taylor Boswell, and was the husband of Linda Kay Isham Boswell.
He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church, a member of the Springfield Masonic Lodge #50 F.&A.M. where he was currently serving as Master, and a member of the Springfield Lions Club. He served in the National Guard and for 18 years held the office of Washington County jailor. Afterwards, he served as deputy jailor for six years and retired in January 2005.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons, Jeff Boswell of Detroit, MI, Larry (Debbie) Boswell of Salvisa and Andy (Melynda) Matherly of Springfield; four daughters, Charlotte Hale of Georgetown, and Shari (Eddie) Blanford, Kim (Steve) Kelty and Lana (Ray) Kelty, all of Springfield; two sisters, Mattie B. Mattingly of Springfield and Grace Black of Frankfort, and 19 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Loraine, Carl M., Bruce and James Boswell; five sisters, Nellie Florence Boswell, Golden Boswell, Elizabeth Curtsinger, Mary Kate Darland and Gladys Rose; one daughter-in-law, Terri Morrison, and one granddaughter, Erica Kelty.
Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield with the Rev. John McDaniel, pastor of the Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Rose, Donald Darland, Carl Curtsinger, Glen Bottoms, Brennan Boswell and Lennie Mattingly.
Honorary pallbearers were Steve Hardin, Robert Osbourne, Donnie Carrico, Bobby Bradshaw, Tommy Bartley, John Kirsch, Billy Stine and George Graves.
Masonic services were conducted Monday, Sept. 25 at the Carey and Son Funeral Home with Billy Riggs delivering the eulogy.
DAVID BRYANT
David Earl Bryant, 80, of Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006.
Born Aug. 29, 1926 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Charles and Ethel Simpson Bryant.
He was a retired truck driver for Chevron Oil, a WWII Navy veteran, member of the Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church, former member of the Lawrenceburg American Legion, Alton Ruritan Club and Anderson County Sportsman Club.
He is survived: by his wife, Doris Robinson Bryant; two daughters, Debra (Grant) Buntain and Donna (Scotie) Drury, all of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, David G. (Jennifer) Buntain, Versailles, Todd M. Drury and Ashley S. Drury, both of Lawrenceburg; three brothers, William Norris Bryant, Versailles, Prentice Bryant, Lawrenceburg, and Richard Bryant, Santa Fe, TX.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, J. B., Harold, Carlton, Forrest and Sherman Bryant.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 22, at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, with Dr. Bob Ehr officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. till time of service Friday.

BUFORD CLOYD
Buford Cloyd, 86, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 in Fort Myers, FL.
Born Sept. 7, 1920 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Earl and Ora Huff Cloyd, and was the husband of Eva Jane Baker Cloyd.
He moved to Fort Myers in 1968. He was a Kentucky Colonel and an avid Kentucky sports fan.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons, Thomas Earl Cloyd of Blackwood, NJ, James Michael Cloyd of Odenton, MD, and Stephen Douglas Cloyd of Temple Hills, MD; one daughter, Barbara Frazier of Florida, and one sister, Anna Sue Biernacki of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Bernard Earl, Gilbert Dewey, James Tilford “T. J.”, William and Robert Cloyd.
Services were held Sunday, Sept. 24 at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
CHARLES COLE
Charles Cole, 87, husband of 60 years to Frances Snowden Cole, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006 at Hospice Care Center, Lexington.
He was a retired wholesale liquor salesman, born in Harrodsburg, grew up in Woodford County, he was the son of the late Joseph William and Anna Lee Nicholas Cole.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and he served with the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Franklin County, conducted by Rev. Dennis McCardle.
There will be no visitation.
The W. R. Milward Mortuary-Southland, Lexington, is in charge of arrangements.

DOUG CURRY
Frank D. “Doug” Curry III, 71, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, Sept, 20, 2006 at his home.
He was the widower of Clona Christerson Curry, a native of Harrodsburg.
He was a former broadcaster with WHAS radio and television, the human resources manager for American Air Filter, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and Presbyterian by faith.
Survivors include: one son, Doug (Paula) Curry; two daughters, Karen (Jim) Hudgins and Liz Harmon; one brother, Bill (Larrie) Curry; one brother-in-law, Kenneth (Jo) Christerson of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 24 at the Arch L. Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home in LaGrange.

GRACE DEVINE
Grace Margaret Devine, 88, of Mooreland Avenue, Harrodsburg, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Oct. 12, 1917 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Roach and Elsie Lester Farney, and was the widow of Clell Curtsinger and C.H. Devine.
She was a retired supervisor for Mercer Dress Corp. and a member of the Berea Christian Church. She was also the first runner-up in the Miss Harrodsburg Health Care pageant this June.
Survivors include: one son, Gene (Beverly) Curtsinger of Harrodsburg; one sister, Leona “Boots” Bradley of Harrodsburg; one step-son, Glenn (Jenny) Devine of Springfield; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, Sept. 25 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Gary Allen officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shawn Curtsinger, Mark Curtsinger, Clint Harmon, Tommy Reynolds, Ronnie Allen and Carlos Lester.

LAURA DRURY
Laura Alice Drury, 74, of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Aug. 19, 1932 in Lawrenceburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry Anderson and Temperance Peyton Drury.
She had been a waitress at Howard Johnson in Lexington and also the Redwood Restaurant in Harrodsburg for several years. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and attended the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sisters, Emma Jean Kelly of Danville and Juliet Drury of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Homer “Buster” Drury and Oliver Drury, both of Knoxville, TN, and Fred Drury of Harrodsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Medley and Frances Sames, and two brothers, James and Calvin Drury.
Services were held Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Larry Camic officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald, Ronnie and David Drury, Charlie Mingo, Thorn Hauk and Clinton Medley.
