Ray Hendren, 98, of Mackville, died Monday Nov. 20, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
A native of Washington County, he was the son of the late Irvin and Addie Bruner Hendren, and was the widower of Beulah Isham Hendren.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ and a retired farmer.
Survivors include: one daughter, Joyce (Buddy) Smith of Harrodsburg; one daughter-in-law, Linda Hendren of Willisburg; one sister, Mayme Baber of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Reid Hendren and Gene Hendren, both of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, J. W. and Billy Hendren; two daughters, Flora Mae and Wanda Lee Hendren; four brothers, Ezra, Earl, Tom and Golden Hendren, and three sisters, Hattie Moberly, Katie Lee Milton Bailey and Lillie Freeman.
Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. James Hahn officiating. Burial will be in Battle Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Hendren, Brandon Mitchell, Matthew Stumph, Tony Smith, Tim Smith and Mark Smith.
MIGNON JOHNSON
Mignon Johnson, 92, of Salvisa, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006 at her home.
Born Oct. 29, 1914 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Vege and Elizabeth Gregory Hendren, and was the widow of Wilbur N. Johnson.
She was a retired secretary for the Harrodsburg Vocational School and the North Mercer Water District. She was a member of the Salvisa Baptist Church, where she taught the Gill Reapers Sunday School class and was a choir member. She was also a member of Prayer Warriors and Salvisa Concerned Citizens.
Survivors include: two daughters-in-law, Shirley Johnson and Sharon Bowman; five grandchildren, John Mark Johnson, Roni Beth Johnson Crouch, Chris Johnson, Jennifer Johnson and Michelle Hanlin, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie Lee and Michael D. Johnson.
Services were held Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Salvisa Baptist Church with Jason Clark and Larry Koch officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Johnny Jordan, David Pennington, Rusty Johnson, Troy Stratton, Joe Morris, Jerry Kayes, Kent Sparrow, Larry Boswell and Paul Hughes.
The deacons of the Salvisa Baptist Church and the teachers and staff of the Harrodsburg Vocational School served as honorary pallbearers.

Thomas C. McMaine
, 85, of Lexington, husband of Lillian Higdon McMaine
, died Tuesday, November 14, 2006.
A native of Madison County, he was a WW II and Korean War Navy veteran, and the owner of Culligan Water Conditioning in Paris from 1948-1967. After retirement, he farmed in Hawesville, KY and after moving to Lexington, sold on the Lexington Farmer's Market.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Virginia Sue McMaine

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at W.R. Milward Mortuary-Southland, conducted by Glenn Gasser, Shane Brown, and Charlie Kerr. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

MARGARET PATTERSON
Margaret Louise Patterson, 89, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Lottie Weed Stanley, and was the widow of Thomas Joseph “Pat” Patterson.
She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and was a youth leader. She was a Girl Scout leader and an avid golfer who won many golf championships in Central Kentucky.
Survivors include: one daughter, Jo Patterson (Louis) Kerrick of Harrodsburg; one sister, Minnie Alice (Harry) Ward of Bardwell; two grandchildren, Patrick Kerrick of Elizabethtown and Doug (Traci) Kerrick of Richmond, and one great granddaughter.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 20 at the Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Dr. W. Robert DeFoor and Dr. Rachel Marshall officiating. Burial was in Bardwell City Cemetery.

Lucy Jane Mullins Rousey, 80, of Stanford, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 at her home.
Born Aug. 28, 1926 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Lula Mullins, and was the wife of William Staton Rousey.
She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: one son, William “Bill” (Donna Gail) Rousey of Lexington; two daughters, Janice (Bill) Randolph of Harrodsburg and Diana Sue (John) King of Stanford; two sisters, Ila Carey of Moreland and Isa Nutgrass of Illinois; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Gary Rousey, and one grandson, David Randolph.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 20 at the W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland with the Rev. Johnny Adamson and Chaplain Gary Story officiating. Burial was in Hustonville Cemetery.

Thelma White, 73, of Danville, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born June 19, 1933 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Martin Wray, and was the widow of Giles White Sr.
Survivors include: two sons, Giles (Loretta) White Jr. of Stanford and Maurice White of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Barbara Burchette of Danville and Judy (Mark) Whittaker of Lawrenceburg; two sisters, Faye Wray White of Harrodsburg and Nancy Wray Stamper of Danville; 10 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Thelma Irene Wren; one sister, Elma Wray, and three brothers, Benny Wray, Billy Wray Jr. and James Allen Wray.
Services were held Friday, Nov. 17 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. J. R. Fields officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

EVERETT WHITENACK
Everett E. Whitenack, 83, of Bruner’s Chapel Road, Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born May 22, 1923 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late John H. and Grace Chilton Whitenack, and was the widower of Beatrice “Bea” Settles Whitenack.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a farmer and a long time member of the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church, where he was in the Senior Citizen Sunday School class. He was also a member of the VFW and the Chapel Hill Quartet.
Survivors include: four daughters, Rachel Anne (Kevin) Byers of Winter Park, FL, Debra (Brent) Steele, Judy Carol (Gayle) Johnson and Teresa Gale (Albert) Million, all of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Martha Sue Mayes and Ann Sims, both of Harrodsburg, and Wyonna Chew of California; one brother, J. H. Whitenack of Harrodsburg; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin Whitenack, and two sisters, Caroline Whitenack and Glendon Whitenack.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Nov. 18 at Spring Hill Cemetery with Don Reed and Eddie Ray Horn officiating.
Pallbearers were Allen Whitenack, Alex Whitenack, David Whitenack, Donnie Tyler, Eddie Horn, Darren Jaggers, and Wayne and Dennis Mayes.

Margaret Elder Young, 95, of Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 at the Heritage Hall Care Center in Lawrenceburg.
Born April 15, 1911 in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late Leda Sides and Chester Elder, and was the widow of Louis B. Young.
She was a retired cafeteria worker with the Anderson County Board of Education for 33 years, having worked at Saffell Street Elementary School and Lawrenceburg City High School. She was a member of the Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church, the Pricilla Sunday School class, and was an American Red Cross Blood Drive volunteer.
Survivors include: two sons, Larry B. (Georgia) Young of Lawrenceburg and Terry E. (Lexie) Young of Harrodsburg; one sister, Martha Selby of Danville; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elgetha Logue.
Services were held Friday, Nov. 17 at the Ritchie and Peach Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg with Dr. Bob Ehr and Bro. Paul Barrick officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

JOHN BAUGHMAN
John S. Baughman III, 74, of Beaumont Avenue, Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Feb. 27, 1932 in Stanford, he was the son of the late J. S. and Dora Hill Baughman Jr., and was the husband of Barbara McGlone Baughman.
He was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church, the Mercer Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the McDowell Home Health Board and the Mercer County Fair Board. He attended Washington and Lee University and Centre College, and was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He practiced family medicine in the Mercer County area for 46 years.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: four sons, Tom Rankin Baughman, Robert “Bob” Eaton Baughman, William “Bill” Montgomery Baughman and John “Pete” Samuel Baughman IV, all of Harrodsburg; one step-son, Brent Newby of Harrodsburg; one step-daughter, Lessa Schwarz of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Katherine Brower of Lancaster, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Hill Baughman.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 27 at the Harrodsburg Christian Church with James Baughman officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Hazel Shanahan Boswell, 83, of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 11, 1922 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Myrtle Northcutt Shanahan, and was the widow of Edwin Boswell,
She was retired from Cricketeer Manufacturing after 30 years. She was a member of the Berea Christian Church, had cared for children in her home for 20 years and enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include: two daughters, Diana Hilvers of Bradenton, FL, and Donna (Larry) Stinnett of Harrodsburg; one sister, Annabel Shanahan Miller of Louisville; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas L. Shanahan.

Lowell Wayne Broughton, 59, of Burgin, formerly of Crab Orchard, died Friday November 24, 2006 at his home.
Born Dec. 17, 1946, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Cecil and Clara Reynolds Broughton.
He was a cemetery maintenance worker for McKnight Funeral Home and a member of Ottawa Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran who earned a national defense service medal.
Survivors include: three daughters, Pam Monroe, Burgin, Kim Broughton, Danville and Tina Woodward, Harrodsburg; six brothers, Kenneth Broughton, Hebron, Robert and Bill Broughton, both of Brodhead, Ben Broughton, Columbus, IN, and Noah and Charles Broughton, both of Crab Orchard; a sister, Helen Petrey, Lancaster; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, at the Liberty Baptist Church, Ky. 328 , Pulaski County. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Ray A. Davis, 88, formerly of Springfield, OH, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
He was the widower of Gladys Davis.
He was a World War II Army Corps veteran, and was formerly employed by the William Bailey Company, Speco Corporation and Service Master.
Survivors include: two sons, John Max (Vickey) Davis of Harrodsburg and James Ray (Gloria) Davis of Virginia Beach, VA; two daughters, Betty Jane (Chris) Hansen of Tucson, AZ, and Janet Louise Schaffer of Akron, OH; five sisters, Blanche Heath, Beatrice Lemaster, Alice Hyatt, Jane Hanks and Vista Bell Miller; three brothers, Rex, Sam and Oid Davis; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Carlettia Mae Francis, 60, of Cornishville Road, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006.
Born Oct. 16, 1946 in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Hazel Radcliff Dunn, and was the wife of Troy Francis.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed working with pottery, ceramics and flowers.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: four sons, Victor Leon (Martha) Francis of Versailles, and Mark Douglas (Tonya) Francis, John Keith Francis and Joey Francis, all of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Mary Lee (Matthew) McGinnis of Harrodsburg; four brothers, Junior (June) Dunn of Harrodsburg, and Donnie, Ronald and Roger Dunn, all of Middletown, OH; eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Miller, Minnie Channey and Brenda Morton, and one brother, Bobby Dunn.
Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 28 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Harley Humfleet officiating. Burial was in the Reed Family Cemetery in Magoffin County.
