Bonnie Lois May Fowler, 81, of Washington County, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 at her home.
Born March 9, 1925 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Sarah “Sadie” Wilkerson Fowler, and was the widow of Lee Fowler.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mackville Christian Church.
Survivors include: one son, Jerry (Tammy) Fowler of Springfield; five daughters, Bonnie (Danny) Yaste of Willisburg, Loraine (Billy Joe) Mattingly of Mackville, Margaret (Eddie) Pittman of Washington County, and Cindy (Cliff) Murphy and Darlene (Kenneth) Robinson, both of Harrodsburg; 17 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ina Settles and Veneta Spaulding, and six brothers, Jimmy, Loraine, Pod, Marshall, Barnett and Rod May.
Services were held Thursday, Dec. 21 at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield with the Rev. George Hourigan, pastor of the New Beginnings Community Church, officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry T. Fowler, Terry Fowler, Brandon Mattingly, Charles Fowler, Nathan Black and Austin Robinson.
EVELYN GORDON
Evelyn Bond Gordon, 93, of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Nov. 25, 1913 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Otha and Georgia Poulter Bond, and was the widow of Hansel T. Mullins and Yeuell Gordon.
She was a 1932 graduate of Salvisa High School. She was former co-owner of the Little Shoppe and a former clerk with the Fashion Shop in Lawrenceburg. She was a member of the Salvisa Christian Church and Evening Circle, and the North Mercer Concerned Citizens.
Survivors include: one niece, Connie Mullins (Warren) Mitchell of Frankfort, and two cousins, Mary Frances (Larry) Trisler and William A. “Sonny” (Bonnie) Poulter, both of Salvisa.
Services were held Saturday, Dec. 23 at the Gash Memorial Chapel in Lawrenceburg with Pastor Vicki Ray officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chad Trisler, Alex Poulter, Jay Hackett, Micah Goff, Tim Wells and Pete Mitchell.

SARA GRAVITT
Sara Jane Smith Cardwell Gravitt, 88, of Hannah Place, died Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
A native of Franklin County, She was the daughter of the late George H. and Jennie M. Wilson Smith. She was the widow of William Edgar Cardwell Sr. and Eugene Gravitt.
She was retired from the Department of Parks and Recreation for Kentucky State Government. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 4075 and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by: two sons, Aaron Nash Cardwell, Frankfort, and Wallace Bruce Cardwell, Lawrenceburg; one daughter, Mrs. Georgenia Thacker, Frankfort; a step-daughter, Mrs. Pam Gravitt, Harrodsburg; one brother, Duard “Shorty” Smith, Lawrenceburg; one sister, Hettie Irene Stacy, Frankfort; 17 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, William Edgar Cardwell Jr. and a daughter, Pricilla Frances Bray.
Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, Frankfort. Rev. Bob Litton will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Woodford Co.
Bearers will be Ashley Cardwell, Wally Cardwell, Edgar A. Thacker, Robbie and Rebecca Barnes, and Thomas Wideman. Honorary bearers will be her granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel.
JEWELL PHILLIPS
Jewell Ann Phillips, 55, of Burgin, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born June 17, 1951 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Ruth Price White, and was the wife of Ivan Phillips.
She had been a 23-year Cricketeer employee and most recently had worked at Matsushita for two years. She was a member of the Shakertown Baptist Church. She enjoyed soap operas and taking care of her Chihuahua dog.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: step-mother, Gertie White of Hopkinsville; three daughters, Jo Ann Tapscot and Rebecca Craig, both of Harrodsburg, and Christy (Patrick) Thurman of Belvidere, TN; one brother, Jamie Joe (Regina) White of Hopkinsville; three sisters, Charlene (Bobby) Gibson, Mary (Marcus) Durham and Regina (James) Murray, all of Harrodsburg, and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by twin children, Donna and Donnie Phillips; another daughter, Mary Ann Phillips; one sister, Regina White, and one grandson, James Mitchell.
Services were held Friday, Dec. 22 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bros. Joe Smith and Harold Best officiating. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chris Worthington, Chad Worthington, Scottie Gibson, Jacob Durham, Roger Durham and Dereck Lane.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary King, Sam Robinson, Billy Price, David Price, Donnie Sims and Ronnie Sims.

CORA ROYALTY
Cora Martin Royalty, 97 of Danville, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born March 24, 1909 in Perryville, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Johnson Martin, and was the widow of G. Marshall Royalty.
She was a graduate of Harrodsburg High School and attended Hamilton College, an affiliate of Transylvania University. She was a homemaker and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church where she was a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include: one son, James Price (Polly) Royalty of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Jane Marshall (James M.) Gilbert of Livingston, TX, and Vivian Craig of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Phil Williams and Dann Masden officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren Jay Royalty, Anne Royalty Lane, Jedaiah Lane, Laura Gilbert Duhamel, Lisa Gilbert and Mike Shea.
Honorary pallbearers are her late grandchildren, Maggie Craig Villaflor, Will Craig and Susannah Craig.
Visitation will be at the funeral chapel Saturday, Dec. 30 from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

ELWYN VAUGHT
Elwyn “Peanut” Vaught, 66, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born May 12, 1940 in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Oliver Martin and Lois Grubbs Vaught, and was the husband of Dorothy “Dottie” Grigsby Vaught.
He was retired from construction having worked as a framer, and he was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Denise (Mark) Edwards of Harrodsburg; two sons, David (Vicki) Vaught of Casey County and Dennis Vaught of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Helen (Eldred) Taylor of Louisville and Joan Cooper of Lexington; three brothers, Gene (Jo Ann) Vaught of California, Paul (Linda) Vaught of Somerset and Jere (Lois Ann) Vaught of Harrodsburg, and five grandchildren.
Services will be held today, Thursday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Bro. Harold Best officiating. Burial will be in Junction City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tucker Vaught, Oliver Kyle Vaught, Paul Vaught, Jere Vaught, Dennis Vaught and David Vaught.
Honorary pallbearers will be George and Sue Buchanan, Mark Edwards, Vickie Vaught, Traci Vaught, Kelsey Edwards, Avery Edwards, Emily Vaught and nieces and nephews.

CARL ANDERSON
Carl H. “Pappy” Anderson, 82, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007.
Born July 3, 1924 in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Richard and Minnie Thompson Anderson, and was the husband of Margaret Devers Anderson.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from I.B.M. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Mount Vernon Lodge #14 F&AM, Oleika Shrine Temple in Lexington, Royal Springs Shrine Club, Scottish Rite, American Legion and the V.F.W. He was district deputy of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, he ran an upholstery shop specializing in Jeepsters, and he was a Kentucky Colonel.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Virgil “Bud” Edwards of Georgetown; four brothers, Garnett (Naomi) Anderson of Columbus, IN, Marion (Mary) Anderson of Hope, IN, Gene (Jane) Anderson of Logansport, IN, and Cape (Louise) Anderson of Lexington; two sisters, Dorothy Nichols of Lawrenceburg and Bonnie (Sonny) Poulter of Salvisa; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Edwards Tipton.
Services were held Friday, June 29 at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home in Georgetown with the Rev. Huey Davis and Pastor Jeff Gibson officiating. Burial with military rites was in Georgetown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul Hackney, Steve Fitch, Ernie Styler, Mark Perry, Terry Devers, Juball Dawes, Eddie Nichols, Alec Poulter and Bobby Jo Young.

HENRIETTA BROUGHTON
Henrietta Cole Broughton, 69, of Bardstown, died Friday, June 22, 2007 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Grace Cole, and was the wife of Edmond Broughton.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bardstown Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband survivors include: one son, Ernie Ray Broughton of Sardinia, OH; one daughter, Janice White of Bardstown; four brothers, Kenneth Cole of Harrodsburg, Jasper Cole of Newark, DE, and Franklin Cole and Rollin Cole, both of Lawrenceburg; four sisters, Pearl Leathers of Campbellsville, Pauline Freeman of Lawrenceburg, Maxine Hahn of Bardstown and Imogene Drury of Lexington; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, C. T. Cole and Jessie Cole, and one sister, Rose Stratton.
Services were held Monday, June 25 at the Bardstown Baptist Church with the Revs. David Stokes and Gary McCammon officiating. Burial was in Bardstown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bardstown Baptist Church “Together We Will Build” fund.

LYNN COTTRELL
Lynn Cottrell, 38, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Jan. 7, 1969 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Mary Dearing Bush of Harrodsburg and the late James Carman Peerce.
She was a former employee of Kerr Manufacturing in Bowling Green, and she enjoyed her children and collecting bears.
In addition to her mother, survivors include: two daughters, Brittanie Cottrell and Heather Lynn Cottrell, both of Harrodsburg; three brothers: Billy Wayne (Barbara) Peerce of West Virginia, and James Carman (Leigh) Peerce and Gary Wayne (Karen) Peerce, both of Bowling Green, and several aunts and uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jonathan Chase Cottrell.
Services will be held Friday July 6 at 2 p.m. at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jack Anderson, Joe Byrd, Marvin Dearing, Gary Wayne Dearing, Darrell Dearing and James Raymond Drury.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Dearing, Omer Ray Drury, William Dearing Jr., Keith Albright, Stanley Drury and Ron Black.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, 5-8 p.m., and Friday after 7 a.m.
DOROTHY FOSTER
Dorothy Foster, 83, of Danville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at her home.
Born Sept. 3, 1924 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Rome and Dora Votaw Peavler, and was the wife of George T. Foster.
She was a homemaker and a long-time active member of the Lexington Avenue Baptist Church, where she was on the communion committee and various other church committees. She was also a member of the homemaker’s club.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: one daughter-in-law, Margie Foster of Lexington; one granddaughter, Michelle Foster of Lexington; special caregiver, Bobbie White of Harrodsburg, and one nephew, Tommy (Martha Faye) Foster of Danville.
She was preceded in death by one son, Keith Anthony Foster.
Services were held Saturday, June 30 at the Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home in Danville with the Rev. Ernest Martin and Kathleen Brewsaugh officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Earl Steinhauer, George White, Calvin Whitt, Bob Rankin, Edward Clark, Tommy Case, Gentry Akin Jr., and E.G. Plummer.

GEORGE GRAMZA
George J. Gramza, 57, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Central Baptist Hospital of Lexington.
Born June 12, 1950 in Birmingham, England, he was the son of Halina Krajewska Gramza and the late Chester Gramza, and was the husband of Lynne E. Czerney Gramza.
He was a retired Chicago police officer and an avid horseman. He was a member of the American Trakehner Association, the Fraternal Order of Police and the Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include: one brother, Victor (Melissa) Gramza of Safety Harbor, FL; two nieces, Aleksandra Gramza and Tiffany Stevens, and three nephews, Jason Gramza, Andrew Gramza and Justin Stevens.
Services were held Friday, July 6 at the Malec and Son’s Funeral Home in Chicago, IL.

BILLY HORN
William A. “Billy” Horn, 80, of Danville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Charleston Health Care Center in Danville.
Born Oct. 8, 1926 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Lloyd Becham and Mable Vivian Lester Horn, and was the husband of Elizabeth Ann “Jackie” Osborne Horn.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was former owner of Boyle Stockyards, a farmer and livestock dealer. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, the Lake Village Water Board and the Farm Bureau.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three daughters, Donna (Steve) Fegenbush, Phyllis (Jim) Campbell and Jane (Steve) Anderson, all of Danville; one sister, Christine Montgomery of Mercer County; one brother, Connie B. Horn of Mercer County; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold J. Horn.
Services were held Saturday, June 30 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Ernest Martin and Doug Wesley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

CURTIS RANSDELL
Curtis Dale Ransdell, 73, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at his home.
Born Jan. 12, 1934 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Curtis Nelson and Edith Allen Ransdell, and was the husband of Anita Isham Ransdell.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from the maintenance department at Corning Glass Works. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, was involved in real estate and auctioneering, and was a member of the Gideon’s, the Masonic Lodge 777 F&AM, and was vice president of the American Flint Glass Workers Union.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Tina (Brian) Murphy of Harrodsburg; one son, Curt (Cindy) Ransdell of Harrodsburg; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon, Lewis and Kenneth Ransdell, and two grandsons, Dale and Austin Goodpaster.
Services were held Monday, July 2 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rollin Tarter and Derek Baker officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David-Curtis Ransdell, Shannon Dean, Heather Ransdell, Darren Ransdell, Jordan Goodpaster, Hillary Ransdell, Brooke Murphy, Bradley Murphy and Steve Ransdell.
