George Alonzo “Lonnie” Hayden, 57, died Sunday, Sept. 30, at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1950 in Paducah, he was the son of the late James William Sr. and Elizabeth Julia Gibbons Hayden, and was the husband of Joan Ann Preston Hayden.
He served in the Marine Corps Reserves and was a former L&N Railroad employee. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sisters, Julia Frances Cecil of Louisville and Mary Joan Azinger of Oregon, and one brother, Leonard Agustus Hayden of Jacksonville, FL.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Thomas Hayden, and two brothers, James William Jr. and Joseph Herbert Hayden.
Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 3 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Father Danny Schwendeman officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Salvisa.

PERRY HOWARD
Perry W. Howard, 56, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, Sept. 30, at The Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born March 10, 1951 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Harney “Red” and Pauline McCoun Howard Jr., and the husband of Freida Combs Howard.
He was a retired shipping clerk from Trane and a member of the Ebenezer Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Scott (Cheryl) Howard of Harrodsburg and Chad (Staci) Howard of Walton; two brothers, Jimmy (Yvonnia) Howard and Steven Lynn Howard, both of Harrodsburg; mother-in-law, Leola Combs and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Sue Howard.
Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with John Kesel and Terry Morrison officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Salvisa.
Pallbearers were Troy Howard, Lee Darland, Johnny Halderman, Tom Gullion, Hobert Cheatham and Larry Petyon.
Honorary bearers were Dr. George Noe, J.C. Sawyers, Michael Bates, Bobby Ross, Michael Buchanan and Lindon Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Hospice, or to the Ebenezer Cemetery Fund.
KATHERINE LUCAS
Katherine Lucille Lucas, 70, died Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Jan. 29, 1937 in Casey County, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Laura Bell Stafford Johnson, and the widow of Lowell King and James Walker Lucas.
She attended Shawnee Run Baptist Church and enjoyed singing with the gospel group, Witness and quilting.
Survivors include: two sons, Dennis King of Lancaster and James Shannon Lucas of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Debbi Campbell of Harrodsburg and Vivian McCarty of Somerset; three brothers, Estill Johnson of Liberty, Jerald Johnson of Rose Lawn IN and Jimmy Johnson of Indiana; three sisters, Judy Daniels and Fern Johnson, both of Casey County and Dee Johnson of Indiana; 15 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and her special friend Alice Herman.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Johnson and one sister, Irene Harness.
Services were held Tuesday, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Neal officiating.
Burial was in Burgin Memorial Gardens with Brian Wingard, Jeremy McCarty, Justin King, Nicholas King, Christian Campbell and Chad Beasley serving as pallbearers.
SAMUEL LEE
Samuel David Lee II, 34, of Nicholasville, formerly of Lawrenceburg, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 26, 2007.
He was the son of Brenda Bailey Robinson, and her husband, Ricky, Lawrenceburg, and Samuel David Lee, and his wife, Linda, of Lexington.
He was a 1992 graduate of Anderson County High School, a member of Southland Christian Church where he served on the First Touch Ministries, and a member of the Wild Turkey Federation. He was a 10 year veteran in the shipping department at Hitachi Automotive Products in Harrodsburg.
Besides his mother and father, he is survived by: a brother, Grant Taylor Robinson; step grandmother, Elsie Robinson, both of Lawrenceburg; half-sister, Suzanne Nicole Lee, Lexington; two step-sisters, Michelle Shipley, Shelbyville, and Monica Becherer, Cumming, GA.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mattie Brandenburg and Chester H. Bailey, and Noah and Irene Sams Lee.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 29, at the Southland Christian Church chapel in Nicholasville. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

JOHN MCNERNEY
John Kevin McNerney, 58, of Parksville, died Thursday, September 27, 2007, at the Haggin Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 31, 1949, in Philadelphia, son of the late Frances Claywell and Madelyn Agnes Skinner McNerney.
He was the minister of Parksville Christian Church and a graduate of the School of Biblical Studies of Louisville.
Survivors include: his wife, Sheila McNerney; one daughter, Christy (Tony) Piro of Antioch, TN; one son, John Kevin (Christin) McNerney II of Lebanon, TN; three sisters, Mary Deann Cox of Llano, CA, Wynne Florence (Jack) San Felice of Mason, AZ, and Karen Sue (Roland) Blandford of Brandy Wine, MD; three brothers, F. Clay (Michelle) McNerney of Pittsburg, Michael Thomas (Betty) McNerney of Clearbrook, VA, and Mark Edmond McNerney of Llano, CA; and grandchildren, David Anthony Piro, Jennifer Kristin Piro, Samuel Conrad Piro, Elijah James McNerney, Joshua Caine McNerney, Charles Tyler Blittle and Dani Maryann McNerney.
Service was held at Wednesday, October 3, at the Parksville Christian Church with Rev. Julius Hovan officiating. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Randy Blittle, Johnny Cox, Steve Cox, Charles Coward, Bobby Abbott, Robbie Mattingly and Bernard Montgomery.
Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the Parksville Christian Church.
The family requests donations be made to the Parksville Christian Church Building Fund and Gideons International.

BOBBY MOORE
Bobby Moore, 58, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 in Lexington.
Born Aug. 4, 1949 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Jewell Rae Hatchel Moore, and was the husband of Catherine Byrd Moore.
He was a truck driver.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Bobby Moore Jr. of Harrodsburg; one stepson, Curtis Berryman of Lawrenceburg; one stepdaughter, Robin Ellis of Somerset; one half-sister, Betty Shear of Versailles; two half-brothers, Cash Ray Moore of Harrodsburg and David Moore of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.
Visitation at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. No services will be held.
TODD NEVIUS
Floyd Cornelius “Todd” Nevius, 94, of Junction City, died Saturday at his residence.
Survivors include: three children, Dessie (Otis) Rigney of Alum Springs, Davis Nevius of Danville and Barbara Cox of Danville; eight step-children, Floyd (Anna) Hellard of Danville, Betsy (Jack) Bennett of Lexington, Jannie (Gary) Blair of Somerset, Kathy (Rodney) Fain of Lexington, Lawrence (Elizabeth) Hellard of Harrodsburg, David (Brenda) Hellard of Richmond, Kenny (Brenda) Hellard of Parksville and Bobby Hellard of Indiana; six brothers and sisters, Ronnie Nevius, Renee (David) Hammons, Donna (Bill) Springer and Brenda Nevius (George) Boyd, Carroll Myatt all of Junction City and Kenneth (Peggy) Montgomery of Noblesville, IN; 18 grandchildren, 25 step-grandchildren, including Floyd Hellard whom he raised as a son, 28 great-grandchildren, 45 step-great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the Stith Funeral Home in Junction City with Rev. Keith Willoughby officiating. Burial was in Parksville Cemetery.

ANN ROBBINS
Ann G. Robbins, 65, of Hazard, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007 in Little Rock, AR.
Born Feb. 20, 1942 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late William Conrad and Alice June Fuller Gibson, and was the widow of Mason Robbins.
She was a registered nurse.
Survivors include: two stepsons, Shawn Curtsinger and Mark Curtsinger of Harrodsburg; one stepdaughter, Shea Harmon, of Harrodsburg; one sister, Martha Duff of Hazard; one grandson, William Conrad “Bo” Curtsinger of Fayetteville, AR, and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Richard “Dickie” Curtsinger; one sister, Alice Shepperson, and one brother, John Thomas “Jack” Gibson.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The Ransdell Funeral Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
JOYCE SANDERS
Joyce H. Sanders, 73, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, Oct. 1, at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born July 5, 1934 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late James and Virginia Thomas Houchins, and was the widow of Billy Dean Sanders.
She was a retired American Greetings employee and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Virginia (Thomas) Helbling of Lexington and Joy (Eugene) Myatt of Mt. Hermon; one son, James Dean (Lora Ann) Sanders of Harrodsburg; five sisters, Betty Shaw, Scotty Newby, Frances Caton, Patty Hill and Billie Camic, all of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Harvey and Mayme Green, who reared her as a daughter.
Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Brad King officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Russ Sanders, Heather Sanders, Jason Sanders, Jessica Helbling, DeDee O’Hara, Brendan O’Hara, Adam Myatt and Justin Myatt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Sanders and Cameron Sanders.

LETTIE SMITH
Lettie Mae Smith, 97, widow of Goble Smith, formerly of New Dixville Road, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Manor.
Born May 7, 1909 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Molly Coslow Carrier. She was a homemaker, and a member of Benton Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sadie Smock of Mercer County and Helen McCoy of Dixville; one sister, Mary Roberts of Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Violet Brown, five brothers, Russell, Garnett, Marvin, Elwood, and Raymond Carrier, two sisters, Beulah Smith and Geneva Phillips and five infant children.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 28, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Patterson Cemetery.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
ROSALYN WHITENACK
Rosalyn G. Whitenack, 77, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Crecia Stratton Gritton, and was the wife of J. H. Whitenack Jr.
She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, where she taught the Ladies Sunday School class.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: three sons, John H. Whitnack III of Denver, CO, and Alex and David Whitenack, both of Harrodsburg, and five grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Brian Burkhead and John H. Whitenack IV officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
Visitation at the church Wednesday, 5-8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be David Stratton, Allen Whitenack, Dennis Mayes, Paul Wilson, Don Stiglich and Donald Wayne Royalty.
Ransdell Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Douglas Laws Post #52, American Legion, Post #6935, V.F.W. and D.A.V. Post #54 conducted military rites for Donald Barnes at Spring Hill Cemetery Sept. 28, 2007.
Those attending were Howard H. Howell Sr., Joe Harlow, Earl Sherrow, Lucian Landers, Floyd Shirley, Allan Teele and James Tewmey.
Zenah Teater III served as bugler.
Navy representatives from Louisville, were LCdr Todd Wright, CS1 Rovert Phillips, and MA3 April Decker.
VIOLA BAUGH
Viola Katherine Baugh, 88, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.
Born July 2, 1919 in Liberty, she was the daughter of the late Joel Samuel and Emily Alice Gribbons Taylor and was widow of Luther Roosevelt Baugh.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three daughters, Ilene Jenkins of Harrodsburg, Linda Jenkins of Junction City, and Charlotte Baker of Burgin, three sons, Roy Melvin Baugh, Paul Baugh and Ronald Lynn Baugh all of Harrodsburg; 24 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, James S. Baugh and two daughters, Martha Adams & Carol Jenkins.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Danny Broce officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.

JOSEPH BOWMAN
Joseph "Andy" Andrew Bowman, 60, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at his residence.
Born Nov. 11, 1946 in Louisville, he was the son of the late Mary Lilly Bowman Ashlock and the husband of Anita Craig Bowman.
He was a former employee of Hitachi.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three brothers, Larry (Glenda) Ashlock of Princeton, Gary Ashlock of Dawson Springs and Damon Ashlock of Louisville; three sisters, Katy and Peggy Ashlock of Louisville and Judy Ashlock of Lexington, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Monday, Oct. 8 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with John David Lane officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tony Rosenberger, Chris Byrd, Darren Ward, Chester Craig, Jr., Mitch Cocanougher and Shaun Parker.
CARL DAILEY JR.
Carl Dailey Jr., 82, of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Medical Care in Lexington.
Born Aug. 27, 1925 in Madison County, he was the son of the late Carl and Mary Alice Pruitt Dailey, and the widower of Violet Carey Dailey.
He served our country in the Navy during WWII on the European Front. He was a farmer and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Pioneer Saddle Club for several years, and owned and raised many outstanding Tennessee Walking Horses.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sharlene (Darrell) Young; two sons, Ronnie (Leniece) Dailey and Terry (Brenda) Dailey, all of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Emma Barlow of Dayton, OH, and Ann Lamachy of Daytona, FL; one brother, John Dailey of Dakota City, NE; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held on Friday, Oct. 5 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Harley Humfleet officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Tim Dailey, Neal Prather, Frankie Prather, Carl Lamb, Kenny Lamb and Billy Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were Amy Riley, Jennifer Benge, Jamie Benge, Emily Daniels, Angela Dailey, and Allison Dailey.
