Helen Josephine Wray, 65, of Bowen Road, Moreland, widow of Leonard Wray, died Saturday November 25,2007.
Born July 10, 1941, in Casey County, she was the daughter of Chilcie Turpin of Harrodsburg and the late Sam Turpin.
Survivors are: two sons David and Leonard T. Wray Jr., both of Bowen; three daughters Donna Daugherty of Hustonville, Brenda Banta of Nonco, LA, and Carol Buchanan of Bowen; a sister, Marlene Smith of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a grandchild.
Services were held Tuesday, November 27, at the W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday.
BOBBY WORTHINGTON
Bobby Worthington, 66, of Junction City, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Oct. 26, 1941 in Danville, he was the son of the late Obie O. and Betty Jane (Montgomery) Worthington, Sr. and was the husband of Jessie Lee Anness Worthington.
He was self employed and was a member of Alum Springs first Church of God.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Cathy (Keith) Cloud of Danville and Teresa W. Adams of Junction City; two sons, Dennis (Dena) Worthington of Harrodsburg and Donnie (Debbie) Worthington of Springfield; a brother, Irvin Worthington: four sisters, Imogene Hart, Mary Elizabeth Langford, Anna Wilma Coffman and Betty Lou Derringer; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Douglas, three brothers, Obie Jr., James and Walter Worthington, and a grandson, Dustin Worthington.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Don Drake, Kenny Hooper and Jeffrey Hart officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Christopher and Kody Cloud, Jared Worthington, Henry Anness Jr., Frankie Price, Travis and Kenny Mann, Willie Gilpin, Tanner Perry, and Jayce Matherly.
Honorary pallbearers were Henry Anness Sr., Gary Wayne Worthington, Warren Cox, Franklin Anness, Bob Foster, Glen Devine, Otis Rigney, and Donnie Lawson.

WESS BROWN
Wess Brown, 94, of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.
Born Jan. 16, 1911 in Mercer County, he was son of the late Otha Ridgeway and Elizabeth Ann Thompson Brown and the widower of Louise Porter Brown.
He owned and operated Brown Auto Sales for a number of years and was a member of the Harrodsburg Church of Christ.
Survivors include: several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Dutch and Walter Brown and two sisters, Rosa Reynolds and Lena Keenon.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 31 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Mike Estes officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

FAITH COLE
Faith Miller Cole, 52, of Lexington, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Sherman Eugene and Fannie Herman Miller and the wife of John William Cole, a native of Mercer County.
She was a graduate of Boston University and received her Masters of Arts in Communication from the University of Kentucky.
She was retired from Kentucky Utilities as director of corporate communications. She was a member of Temple Adath Israel and a former member of the United Way of the Bluegrass Research and Development Committee. She was awarded the 1996 Outstanding Woman of Achievement Award by Lexington Business and Professional Women.
She served as director of communications for The Pritchard Committee and the Kentucky Democratic party, was vice president of the Wenz-Neely Company, was press aide to Sen. Walter Huddleston, was public information director of the Public Protection and Regulation Cabinet and others.
She served on the board of the Lexington Cemetery and the Council on Economic Education. She served on the Communications Committee of Lexington Catholic school.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: two daughters, Catherine Rachel Cole of New York, NY and Aaron Cole Johnson of Chicago, IL; one son, John Hart Cole of Lexington; one brother, Joseph Herman Miller of Lexington, and two sisters, Samye Miller Stith and Freda Grace Miller, both of Lexington.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Temple Adath Israel with Rabbi Marc Kline officiating. Burial was in Lexington Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Marc Lerner, Neil Lerner, John Hart Cole, Aaron Johnson, David Friebert and Stephen A. Miller.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike Whitley, Bob Hewett, Bill Glazer, Bob Osborne and Warren Rosenthal.

JOHNNY CURTSINGER
Johnny R. Curtsinger, 67, of the Cardwell Community of Washington County, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005 at the home of his daughter in Mercer County.
Born May 4, 1938 in Washington County, he was the son of the late B.F. and Amelia Chesser Curtsinger and the widower of Delcia Southerland Curtsinger.
He was a member of the Crossroad Christian Church, a retired employee of the General Electric Company in Louisville and a farmer.
Survivors include: three daughters, Margaret (Ronnie) Britton of Mercer County, Shirley (Donnie) Gibson of Bronston and Beth Spalding of Cardwell; two sons, Lonnie Curtsinger of Harrodsburg and Robert Curtsinger of Willisburg; one brother, Billy Curtsinger of Louisville; five sisters, Jane Settles and Helen Cammack, both of Willisburg, Nancy Campbell and Betty McIntyre, both of Louisville and Bessie Yates of Springfield, and ten grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and David Curtsinger; a sister, Mattie Hill; two brothers, R.C. and Charlie Curtsinger, and a grandson, Kenneth Curtsinger Jr.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 29 at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Curtis Sims, minister of the Crossroad Christian Church, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Willisburg.
Pallbearers were Timmy Hill, Terry Yates, Clay Curtsinger, Junior Taylor, Joe Joe Campbell and Benjamin Settles.
Honorary pallbearers were J. T. Brothers, Mickey Springate and John Barnett.
NANCY FISTER
Nancy Jo Hostetter Fister, widow of Deacon Louis "Spanky" Fister, died Friday, December 30, 2005.
She was born September 1, 1938 in Danville, the youngest daughter of Minnie Lally and John Hostetter.
She was a giftorian of her graduating class at Burgin High School in 1956. In 1959 she graduated from the Nazareth School of Nursing in Lexington, KY, where she was the class secretary during her freshman and sophomore years. She married Louis "Spanky" Fister in February of 1960 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Lexington.
Nancy worked for many years in the health care profession. Beginning with Dr. James Freedman where she cared for many mothers and babies in the Lexington area. In 1976 she and her husband Spanky began a new business called, The Office House, Inc. She returned to nursing at the Kentucky Clinic South working for Dr. Steve Wrightson. Most recently "Nurse Nancy" cared for patients at the Bluegrass Medical Group with Dr. Michelle Wrightson.
Survivors include two siblings, a sister Patsy (Bill) May, Indiana and a brother, John William (Ann) Hostetter, Lexington. Additional survivors include Joan and Jack Liddle, VA, Tommy and Rhoda Fister, OH, Dick and Isabel Fister and Abbe Dodd, KY, and Ann Fister, TX. Nancy and Spanky celebrated 45 years of marriage together before Spanky died eight months ago on April 30th, 2005. They were blessed with three sons and twin daughters and eight grandchildren; Louis Edward, Jr. [Jean] Fister and their sons Brian and Ben, Kimberly Fister-Mesch [Daryl] and their four daughters, Sarah, Shelby, Serena and Sophia, Karen Denise Fister, Paul Richard [Rhonda] Fister and their children Chaz, Blake and Rachel and Greg Fister all of Lexington, Kentucky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Noon Tuesday, January 3, at St. Paul's Catholic Church conducted by The Most Reverend Ronald W. Gainer, Rev. Dan Noll and Deacon Bill Wakefield with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hostetter, David Hostetter, Andy Walker, John Carrico, Kevin Fox and David Liddle. Honorary bearers will be: Jon Liddle, Michael Liddle, Mike Ballart, Terry Rich, Ron Howell and Bill Osterhout, Joseph Fister, Richard Fister and John Fister.
Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Monday at the W. R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway with a Prayer Vigil at 7:30 pm and visitation from 11 am to noon Tues. at the church.

CHRISTINE FOSTER
Christine Foster, 92, of Greenville, SC, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, SC.
Born July 10, 1913 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Claude Andrew and Nettie Patterson Britton and the widow of Clyde “Brownie” Foster.
She was an elementary school teacher in Harrodsburg and Cornishville and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church. She was also a former Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher and a Girls In Action leader. She was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include: one daughter, Jane (Dr. Frank) Powell III of Seneca, SC; one granddaughter, Alison Powell; one grandson, Frank M. Powell IV, and three great-grandchildren, Austin Tyler Powell, Henry Grady Ballard III and Leona Camille Ballard.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Shewmaker, Chris Short, Jerry Freeman, John Harlow, Danny Yates and Bill Randolph.
Honorary pallbearers were Greg Souder, Jack Robertson, Tommy Hurst, Charlie Ison, Sleet Leonard, Bob Baughman, Joe Hood and members of the Welcome Sunday School class.

RUTH MILLER
Ruth Bryant Miller, 86, of Lexington, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
Born in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Nora Bryant and the wife of E. B. Miller Jr.
She graduated from Henry Clay High School and attended the University of Kentucky where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, survivors include: one daughter, Norma Burrus Miller of Lexington.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, Jan. 5 at 12:30 p.m. at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road in Lexington with Dr. Craig Loscalzo officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home prior to the funeral from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetary.
Pallbearers will be Robert A. Gritton, Marshall Gritton, Bruce Goodlett, Genie Sims, Howard M. Fallis, David Taylor and Orville Birch.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Seekers Sunday School class.

MARY PITTMAN
Mary Helen Brown Pittman, 74, of Lynn Drive, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005 at the University of Kentucky Hosp-ital in Lexington.
Born Dec. 7, 1931 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ross L. and Mattie Rayborne Brown and the widow of William G. Pittman.
She was a retired teacher with the Danville Independent School District having taught many years at Hogsett Elementary School. She was a member of the St. Peter African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Survivors include: two nieces, Adeline McClamb of Harrodsburg and Ann Sullivan of Baltimore, MD; one great-niece, Mary Ann Dussent of Baltimore; one great-great-niece, Kayla Dussent of Baltimore, and one great-great-nephew, Kyle Dussent of Baltimore.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Cecil Sullivan.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 2 at the St. Peter AME Church with Pastor Ralph Smith officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Freddie Brown, Sterling and Jimmy Brown, James Bryant, Andy Harris, George Hudson, Jim Pittman and Bennie Yeast.

AIMEE WILLMOTT
Aimée Murray Willmott, 85, of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Edward J. Murray and the widow of Curtis S. Willmott III.
She was a retired licensed practical nurse of The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital and a bookkeeper for the Mercer County Tobacco Market. She served as a secretary of the Mercer County Fair and Horse Show and was a longstanding member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She was active in the hospital Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors include: three daughters, Michelle (Frank) Watts, Lisa Hisle and Jennifer (Michael) Keller; two sons, Curtis (Lesa) Willmott IV and Mark (Susan) Willmott; 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Aimée “Missy” Willmott Chapman and one brother, Dr. Menard Murray.
A Memorial Mass was held Monday Jan. 2 at St. Andrew Catholic Church.
Honorary pallbearers were Mark and Curt Willmott, Lee Heathman, Jeff Chapman, and Michael and Cole Keller.

THELMA BENNETT
Thelma D. Bennett, 86, of Chestnut Street, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Nov. 14, 1919 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Lettie Click Divine.
She was a beautician early in her working career and retired as an administrative assistant for Warsaw Insurance Company.
Survivors include: one sister, Jean Mayes of Harrodsburg; one brother, Donald Divine of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Ransdell Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
