Ben F. Edwards, 76, of Meadowbrook Lane, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born Feb. 17, 1930 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Ben F. Edwards Sr. and Wilmetta Dailey Edwards.
He was a retired employee of Corning Glass and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Beverly Wainscott of Florida; three sons, Chris Edwards of Harrodsburg, Larry Edwards of Arizona and Bill Edwards of Falmouth; one niece, Debbie Richmond; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and best friend, Timothy Riddle.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Woodie, Hollis and Pete Edwards, and one sister, Evelyn E. Savedge.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31 at 2 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Riddle, Jerry Carney, Brandon Carney, Clayton Carney, Clint Edwards, Josh Edwards and Charlie Parks.
Visitation will be at the funeral chapel Thursday from 5-9 p.m. and Friday prior to the service.

SHERMAN HOGUE
Sherman Hogue, 82, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 15, 1923 in Boyle County, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Laura Jane Goode Hogue and the husband of Dorothy Louise Franklin Hogue.
He was a salesman of farm implements for Shewmaker, Davenport, Saufley and Farmers Supply. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and belonged to the Masonic Lodge #777 F&AM.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Donna G. Hogue Raider of Harrodsburg; one son, Sherman Douglas "Doug" Hogue of Merrimack, NH; one sister, Ruby Fisher of Austin, TX; one brother, Jesse Hogue of Danville; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 25 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Phil Williams officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association.
BILLIE MILLER
Dr. Billie Lynn Ballard Miller, 71, of Gainesville, FL, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at her home.
Born in Harrodsburg in 1934, she grew up on a farm outside of Richmond. She was a motorcycle enthusiast as a young woman and rode her Harley-Davidson each day to high school and college. She also rode with the Motor Maids of America. She earned her undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky State College and her medical degree from the University of Chicago. From 1958 to 1962, she trained in pediatric and adult cardiology in London, England. From England she moved to Mexico City where she conducted research at the Instituto National de Cardiologia. In 1965, she moved to Gainesville, FL, to join the pediatric cardiology faculty at the University of Florida, where she worked for many years before entering private practice in Williston, FL. She practiced cardiovascular medicine, served as medical director of the ICU, rotated in the position of chief of staff and served on the board of directors at Williston Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include: husband J. T. Miller of Gainesville, FL; one daughter, Jeni Miller of Berkeley, CA; one son, Randy Miller of Gainesville, FL, and five grandchildren.
EFFIE MILLER
Effie Elizabeth Miller, 79, Lexington, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Hospice Care Center.
Born in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late William Frank Miller and Lillie Mae Medley Pergham.
She was a retired security guard with Buckram Oak Farm, and she was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include: two daughters; Judy Mae (Tom) Clark and Phyllis Jean (Bill) Shaw, both of Lexington; one son, Preston Thomas (Laura) Moberly, Harrodsburg; and five grandchildren; Monica Kennedy, Anessa Moberly, Traci Kramer, Andy Moberly and Ben Moberly, and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bennie Moberly, and a brother, John Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 27, at the W. R. Milward Mortuary- Southland conducted by Chaplain Duane Smith with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 3-5 pm, Sunday.

DAVID RAWLINGS
David Rawlings, 66, of Mercer County, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at his home.
Born April 19, 1939 in Bradfordsville, he was the son of the late Robert William and Alieen Spurling Rawlings and the husband of Glenda Belcher Rawlings.
He was a former owner of Rawlings Contractors, Inc., a member of God's Landmark Community Christian Church and was a musician and bandleader.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three sons, Jeffrey Lee (Mary Ann) Rawlings and Hunter Zane Rawlings, both of Harrodsburg, and David Scott Rawlings of Pennsylvania; five daughters, Jo Ann (Mike) McCoy, Patti (David) Harris and Jo Von (Willie) Pennington, all of Harrodsburg, Janice (Freddie) Spears of Perryville and Margie Shangraw of Lincoln County; one step-son, Gary Glenn Woods of Lebanon; three brothers, Rodney (Debbie) Rawlings of Harrodsburg, Thomas Alvin Rawlings of Indiana, and the Rev. Robert D. (Coryie) Rawlings of Nicholas-ville; nine sisters, Shirley Preston of Harrodsburg, Edith Carol (John) Hunsenburger and Ruth Cesa, both of Bardstown; Bonnie Mee (Bill) Campbell, Marie (Terry) Mattingly and Nelia Louise Mattingly, all of Marion County, Linda Sue (Donnie) Rogers of Parksville, Rosemary (Leo) Leal of Indiana and Martha (Scott) Shook of Colorado; 23 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John Rawlings, and one grandson, Ryan Shangraw.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 27 at God's Landmark Community Christian Church with the Rev. Robert D. Rawlings officiating. Burial was in Elder Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Woody McCoy, Coy Rawlings, William Harris, Patrick Harris, Jacob Spears, Gary Glenn Woods, Willie Pennington and Eddie Harris.
The Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
WILLIAM SIMS
William "Bill" Gordon Brantley Sims, 67, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.
Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late Claude Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Brantley Sims and the husband of Carol L. Reed Sims.
He was the former owner and operator of Thoroughbred Helicopter Service, and he owned and operated Sims Mid-Lake Marina for 17 years. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Gregory (Betty) Sims; one daughter, Melissa (David) Ramey; one sister, Sue Ellen (John) Dixon, and five grandchildren, Tyler and Travis Sims and Hailey, Ellie and Kylie Ramey.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, March 29 at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington with Bro. Don Frye officiating.

LOUISE TATUM
Louise Pendegrist Tatum, 84, of Bowling Green, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.
Born April 25, 1921 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late John and Lena Roney Pendegrist and the widow of Willie E. Tatum.
She was a retired employee of the Mercer County National Bank and a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include: eight grandchildren, Mary Tatum Reed, Elizabeth Tatum Schamp, Deidra Tatum Hill, Spencer Craig Tatum, Vincent Seawood Tatum, Stanley Martin Tatum, Virginia Tatum Donis and Marc Tatum, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, William Bruce Tatum and Norman Dale Tatum.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 28 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Don Blackmore officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stephen Reed, Kirk Schamp, Travis Hill, Spencer Tatum, Vincent Tatum and Stanley Tatum. Memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of one's choice.
RUTH TRISLER
Ruth Trisler, 81, of Harrodsburg, died Friday, March 24, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 1, 1924 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Laura Keightley Shirley and the widow of Calvin Trisler.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Cri (Tim) Conley of Portsmouth, OH, and Ann (David) Taylor of Harrodsburg; one son, Gary (Michele) Harris of Lexington; one sister, Wanda Lane of Harrodsburg; two half-brothers, Buddy Shirley of Harrodsburg and David Shirley of Louisville; two half-sisters, Brenda McCrystal of Corbin and Fannie Pinkston of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Tish Hyde; two sons, Craig Harris and Kevin Trisler, and step-mother, Willa Lewis Shirley.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 27 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with John David Lane officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John David Taylor, Chuck Taylor, Harold Baker, Mike Humphrey, Bill Conley, Bentley Lane and Larry Lane.

AMANDA WARNER
Amanda Lillian Royalty Robinson Warner, 85, of Hopkinsville, died Friday, March 24, 2006 in Hopkinsville.
Born Dec. 20, 1920 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Gobel and Maggie Jane Coker Royalty.
She was a former Corning Inc. employee and was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, William Marvin (Bonnie) Robinson and Donald Eugene Robinson, both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Lois (Charles) Merchant of Frankfort; two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 28 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Walter and Dr. Kenneth Whitehouse officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
JENNY ALVERSON
Jenny Pitman Alverson, 58, of Ringgold, GA, died Monday, April 3, 2006.
She was the daughter of Tom Pitman of Danville and the late Dorothy Pitman and the wife of Jeff Alverson.
She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Rossville, GA. She and her husband were missionaries to the American military for the last 21 years through Baptist International Missions, Inc. They also ministered for more than 20 years in various churches throughout Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
Survivors include: one daughter, Anita Alverson Kelly of Meridian, MS; one son, Jonathan Alverson of Rossville, GA; two sisters, Kathy Brogli of Lancaster and Linda Matsushima of Hawaii; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 7 at 11 a.m. at the Victory Baptist Church with Dr. Ernest Groce officiating.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, SC.
Visitation will be at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Oglethorpe, GA, Thursday after 5 p.m. and Friday prior to the service, and also at the Gateway Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, SC, from noon until the time of service.

HENRY BLACK
Henry Black, 87, of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.
Born Nov. 3, 1918 in Bohon, he was the son of the late William Clay and Maude Johnson Black and the husband of Alma Darland Black.
He was a retired dry wall contractor, a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II, and a member of the Pioneer Baptist Church where he was a deacon and sang with the Pioneer Quartet. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a staff member of the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Donna Black (Ray) Bell; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Gayle Black and Shirley Horn, and one grandson, Harold Dewayne Horn.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 4 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Walter officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Keith McDonald, Ross Bell, Marion Howard, John Stomberger, Bryan Horn and Ronnie Black.
Honorary pallbearers were James Merchant, Bryant Merchant, John Gumm, James Grimes, Ed Hudson and Harry Harmon.
GLENNA DEATHERAGE
Glenna Imogene Watts Deatherage, 68, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born March 16, 1938 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Florence P. Divine Watts and the widow of Don Deatherage.
She was a member of the Magnolia Street Christian Church and enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and serving as president of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include: one daughter, Donna Brett of Mena, AR; two sons, Kenny Deatherage of Lexington and Jamie Deatherage of Mena, AR; one brother, Sam Thomas Watts of Mercer County; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Bruce Deatherage; one sister, Louise Watts; three brothers, Orville Lee, Kenneth and Billy Watts, and one great-grandson, Max Philhower.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 2 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. George Dye officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lynn Grimes, Buford Watts, Bobby Watts, Jimmy Gibson and Billy Thompson.
MILLARD GRAHAM
Millard Henry Graham, 63, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 17, 1942 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Luther and Susie Mason Graham and the husband of Mary Devine Graham.
He had worked at HallMack for 19 years and Kentucky Utilities for 16 years, was involved in Mercer County Little League for a number of years and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Bryantsville Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons, Curtis Graham and Bradley Graham, both of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Ray Graham and Charles Graham, both of Garrard County; six sisters, Geneva Woodard, Jean Snapp and Iona Gowins, all of Garrard County, Omie Bates of Louisville, Carol McKnight of Stanford and Minnie Katherine Arnold of Nicholasville; seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Sammy Graham.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 1 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Mark Williams officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Hardin, William Sallee, Kevin Hale, Billy Gowins, David McKnight and Donnie Gowins.

RETTA GRITTON
Retta Mae Gritton, 95, of West Office Street, died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 5, 1911 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late A.D. and Dora Coovert Springate and the widow of Howard Gritton.
She was a retired practical nurse, a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, and she loved to fish.
Survivors include: one daughter, Georgia Deshazer of Harrodsburg, three grandchildren, David, John and Rita; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Yocum, and Katherine and Roina Springate, and five brothers, Bob, Charlie, El, Clark and Hugh Springate.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 3 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with James Harley and Roc Moore officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
