Rudolph “Rudy” Harlow, 74, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Born May 28, 1931 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Jim and Ida Harlow.
Survivors include: one brother, Carl Harlow of Virginia; one step-sister, Blanche Lykins of Ohio; special friend, Karen Baker of Harrodsburg, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 9 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jon Hall officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
RICKY JONES
Ricky Gale Jones, 49, of Stoner Street, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born June 1, 1956 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late John Henry Caldwell and Helen Jones Cheanault.
He was a 1975 graduate of Harrodsburg High School where he played football. He was a former employee for the Daylight Horse Stables in Harrodsburg, a former employee of Signet Systems, and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Shawntae Baker of Lexington; three daughters, Whitney Johnson, Charity Gale Johnson and Chasity Laynette Johnson, all of Lexington; five sisters, Joyce Marlene Gerton of Elizabethtown, Donna Johnson of Harrodsburg, Lana Caldwell and Johnnie Cobbs, both of Lexington, and Iris Franklin of Louisville; one grandchild, Jayden Cole Baker of Lexington; special companion, Patricia Johnson of Harrodsburg, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 10 at the First Baptist Church with Bros. Virgil Hill and Phillip A. Yates officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary and Jimmy Brown, Gary Johnson, William Key, John Linton, James Lyons, Richard Reilly, and Mark Stigall.
Honorary pallbearers were Michael Brown, John Bryant Jr., Gary Mays, Harry Napier, Shane Sallee, David Yates and Eric Wofford.
Parks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
ROY MILLER
Roy Lee "Doc" Miller, 63, of Junction City, died Friday, May 5, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born July 7, 1942, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Katherine Turner and O. D. Miller Sr.
He was an auto mechanic and a Baptist.
Survivors include: his wife, Margie Coffman Miller; one daughter, Lisa Emerson, Perryville; one son, Roy Miller, Junction City; four brothers, O. D. Miller Jr. and Earnest Miller, both of Junction City, James Miller, Moreland, and John Miller, Stanford; six sisters, Peggy Crowe, Danville, and Connie Asbury, Judy Brown, Diane Thomas, Rita Gilbert and Betty Howard, all of Junction City; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bradley and Lawrence Emerson, Anthony Paternoster, Mike and Michael Howard, John Miller, Eddie Curtsinger and Jimmy Coffman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 8, at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland by the Rev. J. R. Fields. Burial will be in Hustonville Cemetery.
Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Friday.
LUCY NOEL
Lucy Ellen Hayes Noel, 93, of Mackville, died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at The James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 9, 1912 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late James and Dora Bell Gardner Hayes and the widow of Frank Noel.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mackville Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three nephews, Freddie (Linda) Bottom and Jerry (Janice) Bottom, both of Mackville, and Kenneth (Patty) Brown Jr. of Harrodsburg; four nieces, Kathy (Clayton) Tyler of Harrodsburg, Judy (Billy) Cloyd of Mackville, and Maxine (Larry) Fenwick and Roxie (Todd) Kelty, both of Springfield, and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Arlie Hayes, and two sisters, Annetta Bottom and Lorene Brown.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6 at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield with the Rev. Paul Readnour, former pastor of the Mackville Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Willisburg.
Pallbearers were Freddie and Jerry Bottom, Billy Cloyd, Clayton Tyler, Larry Fenwick and Todd Kelty.
KENNETH PRESTON
Kenneth James Preston, 74, of Dunn Lane, died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Nov. 19, 1931 in Lexington, he was the son of the late John and Ella Marie Purvis Preston and the husband of Sarah Janice Wood Preston.
He was the minister of the Bohon Church of Christ and had served several area churches over the past 51 years. He was also a retired employee of IBM.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: three daughters, Janis R. (David) Spicer of Liberty, Karen (David) Meadows of Louisville and Annette Marie Preston of Harrodsburg; one son, Michael A. (Teresa) Preston of Fort Knox; one brother, John A. Preston of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Everett and Harold Preston.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 8 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Julius Hovah and David Tapp officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Salvisa.
Nephews served as pallbearers.

ALFRED RUSSELL
Alfred Lee Russell, 71, of Bradley Lane, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at his home.
Born Sept. 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Berry Henry and Edna Black Russell and the husband of Fayrene Logue Russell.
He was a retired E.W. Brown Plant employee and was a member of Eller’s Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son, Gary Kent Russell of Harrodsburg; one brother, Donald Russell of Harrodsburg; one grandchild, Clayton Kyle Russell, and one step-grandchild, Casey Lawson.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Joni Dale and Jamie Sue Russell, and one grandchild, Amanda Page Russell.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 5 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Kenneth Whitehouse and Ron Sharp officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

FRANCES SHERROW
Frances Mae Sherrow, 87, Versailles, the widow of Marion B. Sherrow, died Saturday, April 29, 2006 in Florida.
Born July 15 1918 in Mercer County, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Hettie Simpson Beatley.
She was a retired employee of Texas Instruments. A member of the Versailles United Methodist Church, she was a long time former member of the Mt. Edwin United Methodist Church, and had attended the Wayside Baptist Church in Lake Wales, FL.
Survivors include: one daughter, Wilberta "Bert" (Ralph) Centers, Versailles; one son, Marion "Buddy" (Betty Jo) Sherrow, Nicholasville; four grandchildren, and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 5, at the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, Versailles, with Rev. Alex Hershey officiating. Burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m.. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
ROSCOE STEWART
Roscoe Davis Stewart, 79, Lexington, husband of Amanda Keith Stewart, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital.
Born in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Al and Mary Stewart.
Mr. Stewart was a retired truck driver for Consolidated Freight Lines, a member of the Teamster's Union, and Revival Tabernacle.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: a son, Michael Wayne (Uicha) Stewart, Nicholasville; two stepdaughters, Betty Crain, Lexington, and Evelyn Robinson, Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, Michael Davis Stewart and Stephen Wayne Stewart; a sister, Goldie Cummins, Lawrenceburg; and a niece, Lena McKenny.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, at the Revival Tabernacle by Bro. Byron Jessup, Bro. John Jessup, and Bro. Gene Young. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m., Tuesday, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road and 9 a.m., Wednesday at the church until service time.

Douglas Laws Post #52, American Legion, Post #6935, V.F.W. and D.A.V. Post #54 conducted Military Rites for Kenneth J. Preston at Ebenezer Cemetery May 8, 2006.
Those attending were Howard H. Howells Sr., Tom Rappleye, Joe Harlow, Curtis and Earl Sherrow, Allan Teele and Floyd Shirley.
Bugler was David Best.
Army representatives from Fort Knox were SFC James Denny and Sgt. Joshua Bowden.
ISRAEL ANDERSON
Israel Ray Anderson, infant, died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Born May 10, 2006 at St. Joseph East in Lexington, he was the son of Charles Russell Anderson II and Amanda Casey Wheeler Anderson of Nicholasville.
In addition to his parents, survivors include: maternal grandmother, Terry Celia Wheeler of Burgin; paternal grandparents, Charles and Diane Anderson of Nicholasville; maternal great-grandparents, Harold and Hazel Hulette and Morgan and Ida Jean Wheeler; paternal great-grandmothers, Frances Merrell and Wilma Jean Svenson; one uncle, Christopher Anderson of Lexington; one aunt, Jamie (Steven) Baker of Harrodsburg; one cousin, Tyler Baker, and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 15 at the Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home in Nicholasville with the Rev. Bill Nipp officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
RUTH ANDERSON
Ruth M. Anderson, 82, of Harrodsburg and Cincinnati, OH, died Thursday, May 11, 2006 in Cincinnati.
She was the wife of Ralph G. Anderson.
Survivors include: one daughter, Candace (Michael) McCaw of Cincinnati, OH, and three grandchildren, Jason, Matthew and Amanda McCaw.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 17 at the Harrodsburg Baptist Church with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Jason Alan Bodner, 28, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Junction City, died Sunday, May 14, 2006 at his home.
Born Nov. 27, 1977 in Danville, he was the son of Dale Alan and Belva Bodner of Junction City and Pansy Ann Bowman and Wally Rounsifer of Nicholasville, and he was the husband of Tracey Ann Johnson Bodner.
He was a 1997 graduate of Boyle County High School, a hunter and an outdoorsman. He was a carpenter who often worked in Mercer County and formerly built log homes for KLH Log Homes.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include: two sons, Austin Cole Bodner of Junction City and Cameron Hayden Bodner of Lawrenceburg; one daughter, Alexis Skye Bodner of Lawrenceburg; grandparents, Howard and Bea Bodner and Elizabeth Yates, all of Junction City; nine brothers, Travis Lee Bodner of Moreland, Jeremy Dale Bodner of Junction City, Coty Howard Bodner, Aaron and Justin Stallard and Adam Confer, all of Danville, Jack, Gary and Shane Rounsifer, all of Lancaster; three sisters, Melissa Shay Preston of Nicholasville, and Katie Elizabeth Preston and Tina Clymer, all of Danville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20 at 2 p.m. at the Stith Funeral Home and Family Center in Junction City (formerly the First Baptist Church).

Lyndsey Danielle Browning, 22, of Central City, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Born Nov. 1, 1983 in Hopkinsville, she was the daughter of Kenny Ammons and Lisa Poole Crick.
She was a clerk at Fastway Food Market in Central City.
In addition to her parents, survivors include: one daughter, Ambria Danielle Browning; one son, Dakota Rydell Browning; three sisters, Kayla Ross and Keera Roy of Harrodsburg and Maghan Wagner of Central City; five brothers, Kenneth Ammons II of Stanford, Ryan Eldridge and Walter Ammons, both of Harrodsburg, Christopher Hawkins and Colden Wagner, both of Central City; paternal grandmother, Waldine Gray; maternal grandmother, Helen Poole; maternal grandfather, Bill Poole, and step-grandparents, Walt and Patsy Young.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Brian Ross.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 18 at 1 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Sam Stow and Brackie Willoughby officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery in Salvisa.

Coy Lee Deaton, 63, of Burgin, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born June 19, 1942 in Mt. Vernon, he was the son of the late Arther Lee and Nona Garrett Deaton and the widower of Mary Lynn Sims Deaton.
He was retired from Deaton Grave Services and was a member of Eller’s Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include: five daughters, Sandra Lawson of Richmond, Annetta Elizabeth Deaton and Angela Deaton, both of Burgin, Charlotte Sims of Hart County and Michelle Coker of Marion County; three sons, Coy Lee Deaton Jr. of Richmond, and Christopher and David Deaton, both of Burgin; two sisters, Lois Petry of Ohio and Loretta Sizemore of Manchester; five brothers, Vernon Deaton of Somerset, Ernie Ray and Jimmy Deaton, both of Harrodsburg, Jack Deaton of Charleston, SC, and Bobby Deaton of Salvisa, and special companion, Linda Watts of Harrodsburg.

DELMAR GASKIN
Delmar “Doty” Gaskin, 87, of Lancaster, died Friday, May 12, 2006 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born Dec. 10, 1918 in Casey County, he was the son of the late Owen and Nettie Withers Gaskin and the widower of Ann Engle Gaskin.
He was the owner and operator of the former Gaskin IGA Grocery and was a member of the Lancaster Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had been a prisoner of war.
Survivors include: two sons, Cary Gaskin of Nancy, KY, and Chris Gaskin of Stanford; two daughters, Clair Gaskin of Lancaster and Candice Ann Richardson of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters, Jane Schauberger of Kentucky and Winnie Quisenberry of Illinois; 13 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 16 at the Lancaster Baptist Church with the Revs. Zach Terry and Owen Thomas officiating.
