Patricia Ann Christian, 65, of Lexington died Saturday, June 3, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
Born in Lexington, she was the daughter of Louise Dulin and the late James Dulin and the late Jake Stivers.
In addition to her mother survivors include her husband, Leonard Christian; three sons, Scott and Robbin Elliott, both of Lexington and Michael Christian, China Grove, NC, formerly of Lancaster; two brothers, Charles Stivers and James Dulin, both of Lexington; three sisters, Linda Pennington, Harrodsburg, Sandra Stacy and Pam Shook, both of Lexington, seven grandchildren, including Travis, Justin and Stephanie Christian, one great-grandchildren, Trevor Christian and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Main Street, Lexington, officiated by Pastor Tommy Howard. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
GLADYS HILBERT
Gladys H. Hilbert, 88, of Upper Nazareth Township, PA, formerly of Bangor, PA, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Gracedale, Northampton County Home in Upper Nazareth Township.
Born May 24, 1918 in Delaware Water Gap, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Bertha Lambert Starner and the widow of Kehl F. Hilbert.
She had worked as a waitress and was a member of the former Salem United Methodist Church in Bangor. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Bangor Elks Lodge.
Survivors include: two sons, Fred Hilbert of Harrodsburg and Richard Hilbert of Bangor, PA; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William Snyder.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 6 at the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home in Bangor. Burial was in Cedar Hill Atrium Chapel Mausoleum in Allentown, PA.

JOHN NAPIER SR.
John Campbell Napier Sr., 34, of Lexington, died Saturday, June 3, 2006. A native of Lexington, he was the son of Sue Alexander of Lexington and Delmer G. Napier of Anniston, AL, and the husband of Christina Lee Napier.
He was employed in the parts department at Freedom Dodge and had attended Henry Clay High School. He was a long-time member of the Camp Nelson Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: one daughter, Bethany Rhiannon Napier of Lexington; one son, John Campbell “Jack” Napier Jr. of Lexington; one sister, Rebecca (Dale) Sweet of Lexington; one nephew, Dillon Sweet of Lexington; mother-in-law, Darlene Weyandt of Nicholasville; father-in-law, Don (Juanita) Weyandt of Nicholasville, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Alexander, formerly of Harrodsburg.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 6 at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Lexington.

LUCILE PENNINGTON
Lucile Thornton Pennington, 84, of Countryside Estates Drive, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Born Dec. 15, 1921 in St. Georges Parish, Barbados, West Indies, she was the daughter of the late Johnathan M. and Edith Brown Thornton and the wife of Luther B. Pennington. Her parents served as Missionaries in the British West Indies.
She was a retired registered nurse who obtained her BSN in 1948 from Union University School of Nursing in Albany, NY, where she began her career as an instructor in medical and surgical nursing and was a member of the Cadet Nursing Corp. She was a member of the Harvieland United Methodist Church in Frankfort and enjoyed sewing, reading, genealogy research and working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her husband, survivors include: two daughters: the Rev. Karen (Tom) Stigall of Louisville, former assistant minister of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church, and Sandra (Don) Burch of West Des Moines, IA; three sisters, Mildred Martin of Middletown, NY, Marion Cummings of Houghton, NY, and Esther May Hollenbach of Ames, IA; two granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, John Pennington, and one brother, Jonathan Thornton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10 at the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church with Dr. Kenneth Cummins officiating.

MARY RICH
Mary Louise Godbey Rich, 91, of Perryville, formerly of Mercer County, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 in Danville.
Born Aug. 10, 1914 in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Duke M. Godbey Sr. and Katherine Walker Godbey.
She was a former employee of the accounting department at the Macon Hospital in Macon, GA, and she was a Methodist.
Survivors include: one sister, Saradele Foster of Covington; three nieces, Cynthia Godbey of Bardstown, Kay Botkins of Georgetown and Norma Foster of Covington, and three nephews, Jackson Godbey II of Danville, Alex Godbey of Evansville, IN, and Richard Foster of Cincinnati, OH.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 15 at 1 p.m. at the Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville with the Rev. Daniel Bunn officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Perryville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
EVELYN ROGERS
Evelyn Elizabeth Rogers, 89, died Friday, June 9, 2006 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 7, 1917,
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila (Henry) Johnson, Harrodsburg and Elaine (Tom) Plank, St. Louis, MO; two sons, Seth ( Jean) Rogers, Richmond, and Marshall (Martha) Rogers, Versailles.
A service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 404 Bohon Rd. in Harrodsburg. The speaker will be Richard Thompson .

MICHAEL SANDERS
Michael Thomas Sanders, 35, of Georgetown, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006.
Born Sept. 20, 1970 in Lexington, he was the son of John David Sanders of Harrodsburg, and Judy Naumann of Danville, and was the husband of Heather Leigh Barron.
He was a member and youth minister of Faith Baptist Church in Georgetown.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include: step-mother, Susanne Sanders of Harrodsburg; step-father, Frank Naumann of Danville; two sisters, Jennifer Prewitt and Rebecca Sanders; three step-brothers, Britt Craddock, and Greg and Eric Naumann, and maternal grandmother, Betty Watts of Harrodsburg.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10 at the Harrodsburg Baptist Church with Bob Baker and Bob Fox officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Colliver, Michael D. Baker, Cody Davidson, David Karsner, Kevin Jasper, John Huang, Bud Ratliff and Danny Russell.

GARRY SNIPES
Garry Layne Snipes, age 44, of Nevins Station Road, Lawrenceburg, died Monday, June 12, 2006 at his residence.
Born January 9, 1962 in Carlisle, he was the son of Anna Faye Hicks Snipes, and the late Albert Chandler Snipes.
He was a member of Ninevah Christian Church, and a truck driver for the Anderson County Road Department.
He is survived by: his wife, Rhonda Lee Snipes; a son, Lee Chandler Snipes; a daughter, Rachel Lynn (Matthew) Simpson, all of Lawrenceburg; three brothers, William “Bud” (Connie) Snipes, Larry Snipes, and Timmy Snipes, all of Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Joyce (Wayne) Shoemaker, Harrodsburg, Teresa Gray, Nicholasville, and Brenda (Ron) Sizemore, Melton, OH; two grandchildren, Taylor Lane Toll and Kyle Avery Simpson, both of Lawrenceburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-8 P.M. Tuesday, and after 8 A.M. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Simpson, Eric Bickers, Matthew Snipes, Chris Snipes, Bud Snipes, and Timmy Snipes. Honorary bearers will be Lee Snipes, Joshua Gray, and Bobby Gray.
NELLIE STIPE
Nellie B. Stipe, 100, widow of Raymond R. Stipe of East Brown Street in Nicholasville died Monday, June 5, 2006.
She was born March 15, 1906, daughter of Len and Betty Corman Goss.
She was a retired employee of Canada Dry Distillery, enjoyed quilting and was a piano player in a band that performed in central Kentucky named the "BushWackers."
She is survived by two sons, Billy Howard Stipe, and Ray and Ida K. Stipe, both of Nicholasville; six grandchildren and their spouses, Sandy and Brian Hundley and Kelly and Jay Boyd, both of Danville, Elizabeth Ann and Les Watts of Nicholasville, Darlene and Chuck Tyler of Harrodsburg, Linda Cloud and Jimmy and Tammy Stipe of Danville; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Thomas Stipe.
Services were held Thursday, June 8, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Sparks and Brother Bryce McCulley officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brian and Ryan Hundley, Sam Corman, Larry Teague, Shaun Boyd and Elgan W. Bruner.
Honorary bearers were Ricky Corman, Dallas Knight, Sherman Dean, Kenneth Watts, Johnny Walker, Don Carter and Dr. Stephen Royse.
ROSALYN TRAVIS
Rosalyn Sims Travis, 76, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born July 30, 1929 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Holly and Margaret “Maggie” Taylor Sims and the widow of Thomas L. Travis.
She was retired from the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company and was a member of the Crossroads Christian Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Terry Wafford of Lexington and Linda (Reed) Arnett of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marsdon and Haldon Sims.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Curtis Sims and Ronnie Ping officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memory Gardens in Paris.
Pallbearers were Donald Eugene Taylor, Kenny, Donnie, Larry and Gary Sims, and Benny Hager.
Honorary pallbearers were Barry Taylor and Keith Britton.
BETTY WATSON
Betty “Dottie” Joyce Moore Watson, 70, of Perryville Street, died Monday, June 12, 2006 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Dec. 29, 1935 in Woodford County, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Ica Buffin Moore and the widow of Walter Leonard Watson.
She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, retired from Cricketeer, and had most recently worked in the lobby at McDonald’s. She enjoyed her flowers and garden and being around people.
Survivors include: three sisters, Marie (Roy) Pulliam and Jean (Mac) Cecil, both of Harrodsburg, and Agnes (Bill) Driscoll of Salvisa; one brother, Marion Thomas (Delores) Moore of Danville; five nieces, six nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 14 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with John Hockersmith officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roy Lee Pulliam Jr., Jimmy and Charlie Cecil, Keith and Guy Driscoll, Dr. Paul Moore and Logan Steele.

KATHERYN BALLINGER
Katheryn Mae Reynolds Ballinger, 80, of Lexington, died Sunday, June 11, at Hospice Care Center.
She was born June 23, 1925, in Kokomo, Ind., to the late Thomas and Ethel Reynolds. She was a manager at McAlpins and a member of First Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin Paul Ballinger; one daughter, Mrs. Paula and James Todd of Nicholasville; a granddaughter, Mrs. Tara and Ross Cairns of Harrodsburg; two great-grandsons, Creed and Croix Cairns, both of Harrodsburg; and one nephew, Dan Reynolds of Lexington.
Services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., June 14, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road in Lexington by Minister Ronnie Hupp.
Active pallbearers were Dan Reynolds, Walt Barbour, James Todd, Ross Cairns, Barry Newcombe and Ken Kelley.
The honorary pallbearer was Earl Ballinger.
Burial was at Bluegrass Cemetery.

Sarah Elizabeth Snowden Carrier, 61, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at the Hospice Care Center, Lexington.
Born in Estill County, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Bertha Lee Stamper Snowden.
She was a school cafeteria manager for the Woodford County Board of Education.
Survivors include: one daughter, Donna (Don) Southers, Nicholasville; four sons, Albert (Barbara) Foley, Garrard County, Joey (Missy) Foley, Mooresville, NC, Laura (Aimee) Foley, Wilmore, and Larry Ryan Carrier, Nicholasville; grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah Foley, Mooresville, NC, James Mason Foley, Wilmore, Kristin, Aaron, and Brytni Southers, and Steven and Matthew, Nicholasville; three brothers, Barb (Louise) Snowden, Mesa, AZ, Herbie (Sherry) Snowden, Williamstown, and Robin (Missy) Snowden, Garrard County; five sisters, Margaret (Willard) Webster, Nicholasville, Brenda Horn and Margie (Gary) Wells, all of Wilmore, Peggy (Warren) Stratton, Harrodsburg, and Debbie Centers, Garrard County; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Wayne Snowden.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 22, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, by Rev. Jeff Lytle. Burial will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m., Wednesday.
LOIS DEAN
Lois Francis “Baldy” Dean, 72, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, June 19, 2006 at his home.
Born Dec. 1, 1933 in Salvisa, he was the son of the late Granville Elmore and Gladys Earl Crossfield Dean and was the widower of Ruby Baker Dean.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired millwright for Ducan Machinery in Lexington. He was a member of the Ebenezer Church of Christ.
Survivors include: six sisters, Doris Reece, Janice ( I. C.) Phillips and Maxine (Billy) Taylor, all of Harrodsburg, Rita (Richard) Carrato of Alaclua, FL, Bruce Lee Dunn of Lexington and Joyce Sturgeon of Louisville; one brother, Robert (Easter) Dean of Lakewood, CA; one step-daughter, Ann C. Robinson of Danville; one step-son, Terry Campbell of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Garnett and Harold Dean, and four sisters, Imogene Crawford, Ina Cornish, Arlene Walkup and Donnis Dean.
Services were held Wednesday, June 21 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with John David Lane officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery in Salvisa.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Dean, Larry Purvis, Larry Phillips, Bentley Lane, Tim Lake, Keith Robinson, Marty Robinson, Greg Conley, I. C. Phillips and Tim Robinson.
