James Seibert Isham, 90, of Battle Road, Mackville, died Monday, September 4, 2000 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born October 17, 1909 in Washington County, he was the son of the late James Nelson and Lillie Parrott Isham.
He was a retired farmer and former employee of Corning Glass Inc.
He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife, Sally Voorhies Isham, Mackville; three sons, Carl Isham, Harrodsburg, and Charles and Jeffrey Isham, both of Mackville; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Votaw, one brother, Leslie Isham and five sisters, Ethel McMillin, Mary Darland, Lettie Pinkston, Virgie Roberts and Lillian Cooksey.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 6, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Kelly Baker officiating. Burial was in the Battle Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Troy Ihsam, Darrell Baker, Bruce Sims, Truman Cornish, Loraine McMillin and Jimmy Cooksey.
GRACE CLAUNCH
Grace Vandivier Claunch, 75, of 470 West Office Street, died Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Born September 2, 1925 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Maggie Peavler Vandivier and the widow of Colie C. Claunch.
She had been a sewing machine operator for Mercer Dress and Cricketeer and was a piece quilter for the Old Fort Harrod State Park.
She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she belonged to the Ready Workers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include: one son, Ronnie (Doris) Claunch, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Mrs. James (Shirley) Bechtel, Mrs. Donald (Colleen) Burns, and Mrs. Stuart (Cathie) Holt, all of Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one step grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 16, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren: Stephan Bechtel, Lee Claunch, Angela Stewart, Sherry Horn, Amy Claunch, LaShannon Stratton and Jami Langham. Honorary bearers will be Carla Higginbotham, Kevin Stewart, Jerry Stratton, Andy Langham, Chad Horn, Kim Bechtel and John Cochran.

OVIE GAINES
Ovie Gaines, 79, formerly of Mercer County, died Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at the Charleston Health Care Center in Danville.
Born July 5, 1921 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Willie J. Peavler and Omie Camden Logue.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Ellers Memorial Baptist Church and the Mercer County Senior citizens.
Survivors include: four sons, Donald Peavler, Harrodsburg, Thomas C. Gaines II and Kenneth Wayne Gaines, both of Louisville, and Grover Phillips of Danville; three daughters, Gracie Smith, Danville, Alice Dupont, Riverside, OH and Sheree Thompson, Ashland; two brothers, J. T. Peavler, Lexington, MO and Marshall Peavler, Garland, TX; one sister, Jewell Anderson, Danville, 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Lee Peavler and Condit B. Peavler, and one sister, Ella Sallee.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 8, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Whitehouse officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Peavler, Clint Smith, Marty Smith, Mike Sinkhorn, Timmy Devine and Kenny Gaines II. Honorary bearers were Robert Peavler, Monty Anderson, James Kenneth Peavler and Jimmy Devine.
JAMES SNOWDEN
James Arthur Snowden, 84, of 413 W. Lexington Avenue, Winchester, died Monday, September 11, 2000 at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.
A native of Clark County, he was the son of the late James William and Ella Bell Sidwell Snowden. He was the widower of Orpha Martin Snowden.
He was a retired farmer, a Kentucky Colonel and an honorary member of Boys' Town.
He was a member of Shakertown Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday School teacher and song leader.
Survivors include: two daughters, Betty Jo (Joe) Harris, Winchester, and Carolyn (Gerald) Turner, Knoxville, TN; one sister, Mildred Snowden Sullivan; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Scobee Funeral Home, West Lexington Avenue, Winchester with Rev. Jim Harris officiating. Burial was in the Winchester Cemetery.
NANCY JONES
Nancy Dawson Jones, 89, of East Grundy Avenue, Springfield, died Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at Hospice of the Bluegrass Care Center in Lexington.
A native of Anderson County, she was born August 26, 1911 to the late Allen and Fannie Short Dawson.
She was a member of the Springfield United Methodist Church for 61 years, a 1930 graduate of Kavanaugh High School in Lawrenceburg and an employee of the former Cunningham's Store in Springfield for over 40 years.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Don (Frances) Buckley of Maysville; two brothers, Lillard Dawson, Lawrenceburg and Coleman Dawson of Atlanta, GA; two sisters-in-law, Lena J. Harmon and Louise J. Ashford, both of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jack Jones, two brothers, J. W. Dawson and Charles Dawson, and a sister, Allie Moore.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 2, at Carey and Son funeral Home with Rev. Hal Hall officiating. Burial was on Cemetery Hill.
Pallbearers were James D. Best, Alton G. Best, Joe Davis, Don Bonzo, Mike Tyler and Morris Sweazy.
MILITARY RITES
Douglas Laws Post #52, American Legion, Post #6935, VFW and DAV Post #54 conducted Military Rites for William Andy Carey at Spring Hill Cemetery on September 7, 2000.
Those attending were: David Bruner, Donald Stumph, Gene Conley, Joe Harlow, Henry Pulliam, Marion Mershon, DeWitt Sims and Roy Freeman.
Sgt. Parker and SPC Francis from fort Knox presented the U. S. Flag.
WILLIAM CINNAMON
William Bernice Cinnamon, 79, of 334 Talmage-Mayo Road, died Friday September 8, 2000 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born October 21, 1920 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Thomas Albert and Mary Lee Crossfield Cinnamon.
He was a farmer and a member of the Harrodsburg Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Flossie Cinnamon, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Mary Ruth (Bob) Epple, Ft. Wayne, IN, Barbara Jean (Lewis) Gash, Harrodsburg; one brother, Garnett Cinnamon, Harrodsburg; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Leon Cinnamon.
Funeral services were held Sunday, September 10, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rob Harbison, Tracy Prater and James Hahn officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa.
Pallbearers were David Cinnamon, Dale Cinnamon, Skip Stocker, Chris Freeman, Mike Ellis, Jerry Wilson, Todd Thompson, Dean Anness, Gary Anness and Doug Bivins.

YOSHIKO LAWSON
Yoshiko Lawson, 77, of 200 Harvest Street, Albany, died Saturday September 9, 2000 at the home of the Yoshi Tanaka family in Danville.
Born June 3, 1923 in Japan, she was the daughter of the late Manao and Haruno Sonoda. She was the widow of James Earl Lawson.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Tenrikyo religion, and a missionary with Tenrikyo.
Survivors include many friends, including Mrs. Martha Heist of Albany and Mr. and Mrs. Yoshi Tanaka of Danville.
A memorial service was held Monday evening, September 11, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.
HENRY BOHON
Henry Magoffin Bohon, 85, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Monday, September 12, 2000 in Florida South Hospital, Orlando, FL.
He was born July 8, 1915 in Mercer County,
He served as Staff Sergeant in the Coast Artillery during World War II and received the American Defense Medal, Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He had worked at the Mercer County National Bank for 40 years and retired as Executive Vice President, July 1980. He also served as treasurer for the Harrodsburg Christian Church, Harrodsburg Board of Education, Harrodsburg Historical Society and Mercer County Fair and Horse Show.
He was treasurer of the R. C. Elliott Corporation for 40 years and received a Certificate of Merit from the Harrodsburg Board of Education for 22 years of service. He was given a U. S. Treasury Department Award for US Savings Bonds Program at the Mercer County National Bank.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Bohon; one son, James Bohon.
A memorial service will be in Harrodsburg at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mercer County Humane Society.
INA GOODIN
Ina Kathryn (Kitty) Goodin, 68, of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, September 13, 2000 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
A native of Marion County, she was born December 29, 1931, daughter of Goebel Mayo of Harrodsburg and the late Gladys Bennett Mayo. She was the widow of George Raymond (Ray) Goodin.
She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse.
Survivors, in addition to her father, include: five brothers, Robert H. (Bob) Mayo, Anchorage, G. L. Mayo, Lebanon, Frank (Sonny) Mayo, Bardstown, Marshall Mayo, Bowling Green, and Leon Mayo, Harrodsburg.
A Funeral Mass was held Saturday, September 16, at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Muench and Fr. Irvin Mouser officiating. Burial was in St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery in Lebanon.
Pallbearers were Jim Bob Moore, Larry Lowe, David Mayo, Jr., Chris Mayo, David Beams and Michael Brodarick.

LAWRENCE WATTS Sr.
Lawrence Allan Watts, Sr., 65, of 551 Midland Avenue, died Friday, September 15, 2000 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born December 5, 1934 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Watts and Easter Patrick Watts.
He served in the US Army, was a service man for Watts and Durr Oil Co. for 22 years, a former employee of Brownie Foster's Service Station and a former employee of Harrodsburg Ready Mix.
He was a member of Ellers Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Anita Jane Watts, Harrodsburg; two sons, Keith Edward Watts and Lawrence Allan Watts, Jr., both of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Janet Renaee Watts, Harrodsburg; four brothers, Joe Watts and Bill Watts, both of Harrodsburg, Leslie Watts, Walton, and David Watts, Lawrenceburg; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Lewis, Mrs. Virgie Peavler and Mrs. Patricia Phillips, all of Harrodsburg; five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Murphy, and two brothers, Frank and Morris Watts.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 18, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. James Harley, Raymond Watts and Bro. Kenneth Watts officiating. Burial was in the New Providence Cemetery, McAfee.
Pallbearers were Shelby McWhorter, Hubert Peavler, Carl T. Watts, Bobby Thompson, Granville Sherrow and Mark Durham.
