Born February 20, 1953 in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Jesse Dyer Smith.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Owen's Chevrolet in Danville and was a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Steven Stratton, Salvisa; one son, A. Maurice Stratton, Lexington; one daughter, Susan Marie Stratton, Lexington; three brothers, Richard Smith, Billy Ray Smith and Bruce Smith, all of Corbin; one sister, Jeannie (Darryl) Gross, CA; her mother-in-law, Alice Carolyn Stratton, Harrodsburg.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Mike Conover officiating. Burial will be in the Kirkwood Cemetery, Salvisa.
Pallbearers will be Delbert Reynolds, William Statham, Chris Stratton, Daniel Stratton, Walter Hopkins and James Merrideth.
Memorials are suggested to the Kirkwood Baptist cemetery Fund.
Visitation will be at the chapel after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, and after 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

PRISCILLA STRATTON
Priscilla Jane Riley Stratton, 94, of Lexington, formerly of Anderson County, died Sunday, March 4, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
She was a native of Mercer County, daughter of the late John McClellan and Betty Milburn Riley, a homemaker, and a member of the Willisburg Church or God of Prophecy.
Survivors include: one daughter, Eloise Whitehouse, Salvisa; one son, Halton Stratton, Lexington; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Annette Smith and Betty Allen, and two sons, William Haston Stratton, and William Byrd Stratton Jr., and three brothers, Seabert Riley, John Riley, and W. C. "Dub" Riley.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Byron Jessup and Bro. Barry R. Moore officiating. Burial was in Sand Spring cemetery in Anderson County.
Pallbearers were Rodney Milburn, Joseph Darnell, Sonny Brinegar, Dwayne Smith, Jackie Smith, and Jim Turner.

VIRGINIA VANDIVIER
Virginia Leonard Vandivier, 79, of 591 Johnson Road, died Sunday, March 4, 2001 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born June 1, 1921 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Ansel and Ethel Carey Leonard. She was the widow of Loyd Vandivier.
She had worked as an employee of the Gem Drug Store.
She was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years at Harrodsburg Baptist and Bruner's Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Dr. Dan Vandivier, Louisville; one daughter, Gayle Horn, Mercer County; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Lawrence Leonard; one sister, Louise Jackson.
Funeral services were held March 6, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor, Eddie Russell and Mark Baldauff officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steve Horn, Chris Horn, Ben Vandivier, Lauren Vandivier, Ronnie Sims and Billy Simpson. Honorary bearers were Joe Ruby, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Carter, Joe Davis and Kenneth Davis.
Memorials are suggested to the Mercer Baptist Association Building Fund.

RUTH WRIGHT
Ruth Doty Wright, 88, of Lynnwood Drive, Lancaster, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at her residence.
Born February 9, 1913 in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late A. B. Doty and Mattie Frances Arnold Doty. She was the widow of William Burdette Wright.
She was a homemaker, member of Fairview Christian Church, member of the Golden Age Club, "The Support Group" and the AARP.
Survivors include: one brother, John Doty, Paint Lick, one sister, Mary Elizabeth Eudaly, Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Doty, and a sister, Alice Palmer.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 2, at Ramsey Funeral Home, Lancaster, with Rev. William Morrow officiating.
Pallbearers were Dickie Arnold, Bud Mulcahy, Beverly Miller, George Ralph Arnold, and Cecil Arnold. Honorary bearers were Gladys Nave, Mary Ray, Jo Ann Grow, Carrie Dennis, Rose Lawson and Mildred Stamper.

DELBERT GIBSON
Delbert Paul Gibson, 56, of 742 Alford Road, died Friday, March 2, 2001 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born August 15, 1944 in Clay County, he was the son of the late Lige and Axie Gibson.
Survivors include: his wife, Kathleen Henson Gibson, Mercer County; three sons, Russell and Charles Gibson and Michael Gibson, all of Salvisa; one daughter, Deborah Gibson Currens, Salvisa; eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lane Gibson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Manchester, with Sill Lee, George David Blair and Carl Henson officiating. Burial was in the Gibson Cemetery, Garrard County.
Pallbearers were Hiram Gibson, Lonnie Wagers, Greg Henson, Don Henson, Mark Henson, Ed Henson and Jeff Currens.
Britton Funeral Home in Manchester was in charge of arrangements.

JOSEPH GRAHAM
Joseph Graham, 67, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Leestown Road, Lexington.
Born October 19, 1933 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Everett and Mayme Alford Graham.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the Mercer County DAV and American Legion.
Survivors include; three nephews, Herman Gordon Graham, Marietta, GA, David Webb, Georgetown and Ronald Webb, Columbia; two nieces, Norma Sue Hall, Richmond and Nancy Webb-Shafer, Mill Valley, CA.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Geurin officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

JAMES HUDGINS
James T. Hudgins, 70, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Harrison County, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born in Scott County September 17, 1930, he was the son of the late John Dickey and Julie Harrington Hudgins.
He was a retired Trane Company employee, a Korean Conflict army veteran and a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Richie Hudgins, Harrodsburg; one son, David Hudgins, Junction City; one daughter, Theresa Nowlin, Harrodsburg; a brother, George Hudgins, Cynthiana; two grandsons.
A Mass of Christian burial was conducted Friday, March 9, at the St. Edward Catholic Church by Father Louis Brinker. Burial was in St. Edward Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Dunn, Gary Dunn, Jody Dunn, Robbie Dunn, Paul Howard, Harold Dunn, Garnett Lucky and Donald Richie.

JUANITA JAMES
Juanita James, 83, of 120 Ballard Street, died Friday, March 9, 2001 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 11, 1917 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Iona Gray Scott.
She was a homemaker and a member of Joseph Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Henry Scott James, Harrodsburg; a sister-in-law, Wilma James, Harrodsburg; three granddaughters, Carol Taylor, Bentonville, AR, Christie James and Beverly James, both of Lexington. She was preceded in death by a son, Harry Scott James.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 11, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Frank Pennington officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ralph Morris, Larry Short, Lonnie Jenkins, Larry Taylor, Danny Murphy and Jim McGlone. Honorary bearers were Paul Devine, Lonnie Harley, Frank Trisler and Charlie Bugg.

DOROTHY KIMBALL
Dorothy Kimball, 82, of 114 Savannah Way, Danville, died Monday, March 12, 2001 at her residence.
Born April 9, 1918 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late William Benjamin and Agnes Buckley Ball.
She was a retired clerk for General Motors, Delco Products Division and a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert L. Kimball, Danville; one brother, Delbert Ball, Burgin; one sister, Thelma Bowden, Salvisa. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Louis Ball.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Chaplain Gary Story officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris McGuire, David Lester, James Sewelll, Sonny Chapman, Jack Brogle and Horace Lester.
