PATRICK TEETS

Patrick Eldon Teets, 49, of Midway, died Sunday, March 11, 2001 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Tennessee. His son, Aaron John Teets and two of his grandchildren, John Patrick Teets and Samuel David Teets, also died in the accident.

Born in Brown City, MI, August 23, 1951, he was the son of Mary Elizabeth Teets of Lenoir City, TN and the late Fredrick Clair Teets.

He was the owner and operator of Reliance Refrigeration Inc. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War Era.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Linda Barrett Teets, Midway; one son, David (Debra) Teets, Harrodsburg; one daughter-in-law, Jennifer Niles Teets, Georgetown; two sisters, Sanda Teets and Mary Ann (Tim) Lee, both of TN; two brothers, Mark (Faye) Teets, TN and Tim (Laurie) Teets, of MI; two sisters-in-law, Joyce (James) Joseph, of MI and Janice McKieran of AZ; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Gail) Barrett, WI and Gerald(Nancy) Barret, MI; two grandchildren.

Joint funeral services were held Friday, March 16, at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel in Versailles with Bro. Claude Waldridge officiating. Burial was in Midway Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chad Metzger, Will Robinson, Joe Quire, Eddie Cartwright and Jason Teets.

Memorials are suggested to the Woodford County Humane Society, PO Box 44, Versailles, KY 40383 or Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, 489 E. Main St., Lexington, KY 40507.

Aaron John Teets, 26, John Patrick Teets, 2, and Samuel David Teets, nine months, of Georgetown, husband and children of Jennifer Niles Teets, died Sunday March 11, 2001 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Tennessee.

Aaron Teets was born in Saginaw, MI April 24, 1974.

He was a Kentucky Horse Park Mounted Police Officer and was in the Navy Reserve where he served as a Seabee. He was also a member of the NRA.

John was born in Fayette County, June 12, 1998 and Samuel was born in Fayette County, May 18, 2000.

In relationship to Aaron Teets, survivors include: his mother, Linda Barrett Teets, Midway; one brother, David Patrick (Debra) Teets, Harrodsburg; mother and father-in-law, David B. and Deborah Niles, Jersey Shore, PA; paternal grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Teets, Lenoir City, TN; his children’s maternal great grandmother, Phyllis Niles Farver, McKeane, PA. His father, Patrick Eldon Teets, also died in the accident.

Joint funeral services were held Friday, March 16, at the Duell-Clark Funeral Chapel in Versailles with Bro. Claude Waldridge officiating. Burial was in Midway Cemetery.

Pallbearers were members of the Kentucky Horse Park Mounted Police.

MARY THACKER

Mary Jane Seal Thacker, 50, of Mooreland Avenue, died Saturday, March 17, 2001 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born October 16, 1950 in Richmond, IN, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Grace E. O’Conner Seal.

She was retired from the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department.

Survivors include: her husband, Rufus Thacker, Harrodsburg; two brothers, John and Jim Seal; one sister, Shirley Tisdale, all of Richmond, IN.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 20, at the Booneville Funeral Home, with Rev. J. Jamison Brunk officiating. Burial was in Beatyplace Cemetery, Beattyville, KY.

MARGARET WOODARD

Margaret Gordon Woodard, 86, of Lakeview Point, died Saturday, March 17, 2001 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born February 9, 1915 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Morris Daniel and Maude Smart Gordon.

She had been a member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church for 50 years and was a life member of the Mercer County Homemakers.

She was a graduate of Fugazzi Business College, a member of the Tuesday Morning Bowling League, and was a retired medical records librarian for the State of Kentucky.

Survivors include: three daughters, Sara W. Sims, Harrodsburg; Patty W. Boyd, Danville, Margaret W. Fenton, Galena, OH; three sons, Morris Gordon Woodard, Clinton S. Woodard, and Harry S. Woodard, all of Mercer County; two sisters, Lois G. Edger, Louisville; Sara G. Conway, Mercer County; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 20, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. John Contini officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Harry D. Sims, Thomas G. Sims, Robert K. Sims, Phillip M. Woodard, Edward Scott Taylor, and Christopher A. Boyd. Honorary bearers were granddaughters, Stephanie Lynn Duff, Suzanne W. Voll, Leah Patterson Rond, Margaret Rae Woodard, Lisa S. Boyd, Misty W. Gammon, Ashley Lynn Woodard, Jamie Allen Woodard and Courtney Sims Woodard.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church, 326 S. Main St., Harrodsburg, KY 40330, and/or The American Heart Association, PO Box 198, Harrodsburg, KY 40330.

JUDY CONN

Judy Clark Conn, age 81, widow of Hardin H. Conn Jr., of Nashville, TN, died Sunday, March 25, 2001 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.

She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years.

Survivors include: one son, William Clark Conn, Nashville, TN; one brother, Marshall Clark, Lexington; one sister, Jesta Clark Arnold, Harrodsburg.

Burial will be in Springfield, TN.

MABLE HALE

Mable Hale, 79, of 117 Old Wilmore Road, Nicholasville, died Saturday, March 24, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born January 14, 1922 in Estill County, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Provey Spivey Noland. She was the widow of James "Jim" Hale.

She was a homemaker and a member of the True Gospel Tabernacle Church in Nicholasville.

Survivors include: two sons, Raymond J. Hale, Lexington, Lewis Hale, Nicholasville; two daughters, Carrie Mae Benson and Lorena Pearl Shofner, both of Nicholasville; three brothers, Earl Noland, Shelbyville, Buford Noland and Harold Noland, both of Batavia, OH; ten grandchildren, including Brian Hale, Harrodsburg, 19 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lorena Fields, Frances Fox and Lucille Noland; one brother, Ray Noland, one grandchild.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 27, at the Brookside Baptist Church in Nicholasville with Bro. Paul Huff officiating. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Nicholasville.

Pallbearers were Brian Hale, Lewis Edward Hale, Ricky Walling, Jeff Walling, Royce Withers, Michael Walling, Walter Baker and Curtis Grimes.

Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

FLORENCE HENSLEY

Florence Belle Hensley, 64, of Hebron, died Friday, March 23, 2001 at St. Luke’s Hospital West in Florence.

Born April 13, 1936 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Ansle and Margie Harmon Divine.

She was retired from Kenner’s Toys in Cincinnati, OH.

Survivors include: her husband, Boone Hensley, Hebron; one daughter, Sherry Hensley, Cincinnati, OH; one son, Wayne Hensley, Hebron; two sisters, Lillian Long and Norma Keesecker, both of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Sam and Billy Divine, Harrodsburg. She was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Dale Divine and four sisters and one brother.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 26, at the Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home in Hebron with Rev. James R. Armstrong officiating.

Burial was in Hebron Lutheran cemetery in Hebron.

JANIE PINKSTON

Janie Pinkston, 79, of 232 N. College Street, died Monday, March 26, 2001 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born September 19, 1921 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James and Sara Elizabeth Leonard Drury. She was the widow of James Edward Pinkston.

She was a homemaker and a member of Shawnee Run Baptist Church.

Survivors include: three sons, Johnny Pinkston, Burgin, Ralph Pinkston, Harrodsburg, and J. L. Pinkston, Danville; one daughter, Shirley Crews, Harrodsburg; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ada Maddox, Mayme Sims, Glenda Watts and Mary Claunch, and one grandson, Terry Pinkston.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Readnour officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Duck Collier, Kenny Keith Pinkston, Wally Bottoms, Jimmy Corman and Junior Watts.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. .Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

ETTA REED

Etta Mae Reed, 90, of Manchester Center, VT, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at her residence.

Born October 17, 1910 in East Dorset, VT, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lura McWain Smith. She was the widow of Ernest S. Reed.

She received her education in area schools at Sunderland, Manchester, Pownal, Berlin, NY and was formerly employed by the Toll Road Motel in Manchester, VT.

Survivors include: one son, Ernest S. Reed, Manchester Center, VT; three grandchildren, including Teresa R. Wilcher, Harrodsburg; three step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, including Greg Wilcher, Harrodsburg, Harold Wilcher, Louisville; nine step great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, three step great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 23, at Brewster Funeral Home in Manchester, VT, with Rev. Betty Wright Riggins officiating. Committal services will be held later in the spring.

Memorials are suggested to the Manchester Rescue Squad or the Second Chance Animal Shelter, c/o Brewster Funeral Service, PO Box 885, Manchester Center, VT 05255.

ELIZABETH TURNER

Elizabeth Elinor Turner, 73, of 918 Ridgeway Drive, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.

Born April 8, 1927 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Hopper Patterson and the late James T. Patterson, Sr.

She had worked as a caregiver, was a graduate of Centre College and a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: two daughters, Kimberly (Scott) Campbell, Brocksville, OH; Pamela Graybruck, Houston, TX; one son, James Patterson Wolfe, Dallas, TX; one brother, James Patterson, Jr., Harrodsburg; one sister, Mary Relaford, Harrodsburg; four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bettie Guthrie.

Graveside services were held Friday, March 23, at the Spring Hill Cemetery, with Rev. James Owens officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Scott Campbell, James T. Patterson, Jr., James T. Patterson, III, George Woolcott, Tom Guthrie and Brad Guthrie.

Memorials are suggested to Harrodsburg United Methodist Church or the charity of one's choice.
