Orbrin Paul "Orb" Leathers, age 76, of 405 East Court Street, Lawrenceburg, died Thursday, April 12, 2001 at his residence.
Born June 26, 1924 in Nelson County, he was the son of the late Shelby and Sarah Catherine McMichael Leathers.
He worked in maintenance and janitorial services and was a member of the Fairview Christian Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Margaret Grace Wilham Drury Leathers, Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Judy Pulliam, Harrodsburg, Jean (Ray) Caldwell, Lawrenceburg; one son, Garland (Norma) Leathers, Salvisa; two step daughters, Mary Jewell (Roy) Carter and Shirley (G. W.) Jenkins, both of Lawrenceburg; one brother, Harlon Leathers, Radcliff; 20 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson, William Oscar Drury; two brothers, Vernon and Garland Leathers; and three sisters, Margie Robinson, Verlie Waldridge and Elvie Jewell Leathers.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 14, at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home with Bro. George Martin officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Freddy Carter, Buddy Chilton, Ashley Chilton, David Price, Cody Pulliam, Daniel Derringer, Jason Leathers and James Hagen. Honorary bearers were Jeffery Byrd, Junior Robinson, Daniel Preston, Donnie Waldridge, G. W. Waldridge, Truman Barnett, Swope Peyton and Marvin Grace.

LOUISE MAY
Louise Gaines May, 83, formerly of Perryville, died Saturday, April 14, 2001 at Charleston Health Care Facility in Danville.
Born August 14, 1917 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Gay Broyles Pipes. She was the widow of William May.
Survivors include: one daughter, Gayle Parr; one son, Tommy May, and one sister, Mattie Powell. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 17, at 2:00 p.m. at the Perryville United Methodist Church with Tony Campbell officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest cemetery in Perryville.
Memorials are suggested to the Perryville Methodist Church Building Fund.
Wilder Funeral Home in Perryville was in charge of arrangements.

JOSEPH MEREDITH
Joseph Shelton "Shelly" Meredith, 67, of Lexington, died Monday, April 16, 2001 at Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital.
He was born in New York City, but his father’s family was from Mercer County. He was a nephew of the late Dr. T. O. Meredith and cousin of Bill Meredith.
He attended Centre College and served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn S. Meredith, Lexington; five children and three sisters.
A memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 24, at St. Paul Catholic Church.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital.
W. R. Milward Mortuary-Broadway, Lexington, was in charge of arrangements.

CATHY MERRIMAN
Cathy Sallee Merriman, 49, of Cornishville Road, died Monday, April 16, 2001 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born November 26, 1951 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late James Lewis and Dorothy Steele Sallee.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Bohon Christian Church and an animal lover who was particularly fond of dogs, cats and ferrets.
Survivors include: her husband, Gary Andrew Merriman, Mercer County; one son, Clint James Merriman, Georgia; one daughter, Casey Corrinna Merriman, Harrodsburg; one sister, Linda Banks, Lakeland, FL. She was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Lewis Sallee and one sister, Teresa Baxter.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Owens officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Sallee, Larry Merriman, James Merriman, Mark Merriman, Ricky Rice and Stephen Miller.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

ADA PEAVLER
Ada Elizabeth Royalty Peavler, 69, of 8508 Cheffield Drive, Louisville, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Friday, April 13, 2001 at the Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.
Born November 18, 1931 in Willisburg, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Rae Keeling Royalty. She was the widow of Chalres "Chuck" Peavler.
She was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church, and attended Lyndon Christian Church in Louisville.
She was a retired Corning Glass Works employee and an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan.
Survivors include: her sister and brother-in-law, Vernon Carroll and Betsy Coulter, Louisville; one niece, Carrie Coulter (John) Nelson, Louisville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 17, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home. Burial was in the Willisburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Keeling, Russell Denny, John Nelson, Wendell Griffey, Bobby Trisler and Jerry Royalty.

ALLEN PINKSTON
Albert Allen Pinkston, 73, of Springdale Apartments, Springfield, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at his home.
Born June 6, 1927 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Albert Taylor "A. T." and Della Pinkston.
He was a member of the Thompsonville Baptist Church and was known to many people in the community as the "Candyman."
Survivors include: one son, Thomas Allen Pinkston, Nicholasville; three daughters, Mrs. Joe (Patricia) Hardin, Springfield, Mrs. Bruce (Vickie) Dean of Harrodsburg and Mrs. John (Denise) Jordan, Lexington; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, J. D. Pinkston and Russell Pinkson, and a half sister, Jane Pinkston.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home with Rev. David Collier and Rev. Bobby Cheser, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery at Willisburg.
Pallbearers were Dorchester Hardin, John R. Hardin, Al Stevens, Bobby Cheser, R. C. Devine and Dixie Pinkston.

Arah Elizabeth Wright, 70, of 1801 Danville Road, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cleva Routt Langford.
She was co-owner of the Pin Oak Driving Range and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Robert F. Wright, Harrodsburg; four sons, Bobby Wright, Escondido, CA, Chris Wright, Harrodsburg, Harvey (Tracey) Wright, Lexington, and Joe (Sheri) Wright, Harrodsburg; one brother, Robert Langford, Harrodsburg; three sisters, Bettie Hager, Harrodsburg, Mrs. Foster (Anna) Hooker, Danville, Viola Dreon, KY; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Langford.
Funeral services were held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy McPheron and Rev. Barry Jeffries officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Louise Gabhart Headen, 79, of 213 Gatewood Avenue, Lawrenceburg, died Monday, April 23, 2001 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort.
Born February 4, 1922 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Effie Davenport Gabhart.
She was a retired cashier at Model Market in Lawrenceburg for 20 years and a housewife. She was a member of the Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church and the New Hope Sunday School Class.
Survivors include: her husband, Clarence A. Headen; one son, Billy (Belinda) Headen, Salvisa; two daughters, Rachel (Raymond) Peak, Brenda (Carroll) Sutherland, both of Anderson County; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Gabhart.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 25, at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Gene Koons and Dr. Greg Burton officiating. Burial was in Mt. Vernon cemetery in Shelby County.
Pallbearers were Larry Peak, Craig Jenkins, Berry Young, Michael Sutherland, Rusty Waldridge, Curt Carlton, Arnold Headen, and Alfred Headen. Honorary bearers were members of the New Hope Sunday School Class.
