Thomas Monroe Hourigan, age 90, of Shortline Road, Springfield, died Friday, April 20, 2001 at the Federal Hill Manor in Bardstown.
A native of Mercer County, he was born September 13, 1910 to the late James Robert and Fannie Alma May Hourigan. He was the widower of Amanda Black Hourigan.
He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, a retired farmer and a retired State Law Enforcement Officer for the Kentucky Department of Transportation.
He also served one term as state representative for Washington and Mercer counties.
Survivors include: one son, Robert M. (Sheila) "Buck" Hourigan, Springfield; one brother, Horace Hourigan, Harrodsburg; one sister, Mary Helen Zeliff, Harrodsburg; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his step mother, Clydia Bell Rexrote Hourigan, three brothers, Kenneth Hourigan, Stanley Hourigan and David Hourigan, three sisters, Evelyn Rexrote, Ruth Hourigan Sims and Josephine Hourigan Powell.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 23, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Shannon and Rev. J. T. Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Thomas Joseph Hourigan, Scott Abbott Hourigan, Robert Michael Hourigan, Robert Arnold, Donnie Hatchett and J. B. Carrico. Honorary bearers were Rev. Oliver Hawkins, Denny Goode and Jackie Arnold.
Carey and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

IRMA ROGERS
Irma K. Rogers, 86, of Cottonwood Street, died Saturday, April 21, 2001 at her residence.
Born August 28, 1914 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of the late John and Hilda Krause.
She privately taught writing and was affiliated with the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include: her husband, Elkanah "Kenny" Rogers, Harrodsburg; one brother, Jack Krause, St. Louis, MO.
Graveside services were held Monday, April 23, at the Richmond Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Terry, Mike and Jack Krause, Cecil Riley, John Henderson and Bill David Rogers.

IRENE SEBASTIAN
Irene Coldiron Carr Sebastian, age 83, of 1022 Butler Drive, Danville, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at the Danville Centre for Heath and Rehabilitation.
Born June 18, 1918 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Robert P. and Anna M. Pollard Coldiron. She was the widow of Oneal Sebastian.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse, having been one of the first graduates of Danville School of Practical Nursing. She had worked as an industrial nurse at Palm Beach, and in the emergency room of Garrard County Hospital.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was affiliated with Carpenters Christian Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara (Bob) King, Danville; Penny (William E.) Johnson, Lexington; one sister, Carrie M. Farmer, Danville; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 20, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Don Hill officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bob King, Rob King, Robbie Johnson, Benny Foley, Danny Galdberry and Johnny Emerson. Honorary bearers were William Johnson, Joe Burnside and Buddy Johnson.

MORRIS SEMONES
Morris Semones, 62, of 324 Barr St., died Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at his residence.
Born April 11, 1939 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Garnett and Hattie Pearl Bailey Semones.
He had worked as an auto dealer for a number of years and was a member of Bethel Cumberland #1 Presbyterian Church.
He served in the U. S. Army from 1962 to 1968.
Survivors include: his wife, Edith Anna Krappann Semones, Harrodsburg; two sons, Kevin Semones and Mike Semones, both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Garnetta Webb, Harrodsburg; one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Semones.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 21, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Byrd officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Ray Semones, Rusty Webb, Billy Price, Tony Gray, Roy Lee Norvell and Carroll Semones. Honorary bearers were Bruce Patterson, Danny and Bobby Bailey.
Memorials are suggested to the Bethel Cumberland #1 Presbyterian Church.

TIMOTHY SINKHORN
Timothy Chase Sinkhorn, 38, of the Garrard Convalescent Home in Covington, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at St. Luke East Hospital in Ft. Thomas.
Born April 18, 1962 in Winchester, he was the son of Shirley Brown Sherwood of Lawrenceburg and William C. Sinkhorn, Mercer County.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: one sister, Valencia Bass, London.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 21, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Father Michael Ramler officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort.

ALMA WALKER
Alma Goodlett Walker, 82, of 101 Hawkins Street, Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington.
Born May 6, 1918 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Abner and Mary Anna McKinney Goodlett. She was the widow of Presley H. Walker.
She was a retired inspector for Rand McNally Co. in Versailles, and a member of the Lawrenceburg First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one sister, Gertrude Pinkston, Willisburg, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mary Will Goodlett and Lillian Cunningham; two brothers, Onis Goodlett and Charlie Goodlett.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bob C. Jones and Bro. Cleo Goodlett officiating. Burial will be in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 8:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.

FOREST ALSIP
Forest J. Alsip, 83, of 1025 Riverside Drive, died Saturday, April 28, 2001 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born January 22, 1918 in Williamsburg, he was the son of the late John and Naomi Laudermilk Alsip.
He retired after 26 years as a skilled buffer for Newtone. He was a former member of the Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Covington, where he was a deacon for 25 years, a member of the Keystone Sunday School Class and Senior Citizens Bible Study class. He was a member of the Burner's Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Blanche Newby Alsip, Harrodsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Lela Crain, Campbellsville; Mrs. Marie Lackey, Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Alsip and Charles Alsip, one sister, Hazel Wilkerson.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Redding officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Crain, Len Crain, Ronnie Patton, Ed Alsip, Jerry Newby and David Lackey.

JEAN CARR
Jean Dewey Carr, 86, of 101 Mooreland Ave., formerly of Lakewood, OH, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at her residence.
Born April 4, 1915 in Bennington, VT, she was the daughter of the late Edward Walling "Bee" and Janet Shurtleff Dewey.
She attended a Montessori teacher's college in New York City and taught many years with students with special needs. She was named Teacher of the Year in Lakewood for her dedication to her students and her contributions to the school district. She retired in 1980 after teaching 18 years at Roosevelt Elementary School and continued substitute teaching for several years.
She was also a volunteer at Lakewood Hospital, for Meals on Wheels, and for St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Donald J. Carr, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Cynthia Carr, Harrodsburg, Janet "Dale" Carr, Napa, CA; one son, Robert Carr, Albany, OH; one brother, Bob (Dottie) Dewey of Bennington, VT; three grandchildren, including Jenni Wayland Devine, Perryville and Brad Wayland, Lebanon; six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2001 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 18002 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, OH with Rev. Carol Cole Flannigan officiating.

MATTHEW CARTER
Matthew Phillip Carter, 22, of Mac Street, Lawrenceburg, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, in Lawrenceburg.
Born August 30, 1978 in Warren County, he was the son of Ann Votaw of Lawrenceburg and Phillip Carter of Bowling Green.
He was a 1996 graduate of Anderson County High School, a carpenter and a member of the Corinth Christian Church.
Survivors include: his mother an step father, Anne and Steve Votaw of Lawrenceburg; father and step mother, Phillip and Sandra Carter, Bowling Green; one sister, Lindsey Carter, Lawrenceburg; two step brothers, Patrick and Derek Votaw, both of Lawrenceburg; grandparents, Patsy Carter, Bowling Green and Bob and Suzie Bowling of Lawrenceburg; step grandparents, Paul and Bessie Votaw, Harrodsburg and Thelma Geralds, Bowling Green; great grandmother, Hattie Pillow, Bowling Green. He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Curtis M. Carter, and grandmother, Eva Bowling.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 29, at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home in Lawrenceburg, with Bro. Terry Cooper officiating. Burial was in the Corinth cemetery in Anderson County.
Pallbearers were Daril Ulery, Larry Peak, Greg Scott, David Casey, Rex Burkhead, Ken Evans, Daryl Woods and Davin Jones.
