Stanley Parker, 91, of Xenia, OH, formerly of Lancaster and Falmouth, died Monday, April 30, 2001 at the home of his granddaughter, Kathy Jackson.
Born November 30, 1909 in Pendleton County, he was the son of the late Cecil Francis and Hallie Newton Aulick Parker. He was the widower of Viola Browning Parker who was formerly from Harrodsburg.
He had worked for four years with the Cincinnati Enquirer, taught at New Zion, Demossville, and McKennesyburg schools in Kentucky, worked with Newport Steel Company, Newport and as terminal manager in the Cincinnati Division of Sims Motor Transport Line, out of Riverdale, IL, for 20 years before retiring in 1970.
He was a member of the Blanket Creek Baptist Church, Pendelton County, a member of the Silver Grove Lodge #612 F&AM, and a 32nd degree member of the Indra Consistory Scottish Rite in Covington.
Survivors include: four granddaughters, Kathy Lee Jackson, Xenia, Oh, Tamara Joe Hedger and Nancy Sue Moore, Harrison County, Brenda K. Westwood, Alexandria; one brother, W. F. Parker, Richwood; 10 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce Lee King and Nancy Westwood.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

WILLIAM PRICE
William Howard Price, 71, of 213 S. College St., died Thursday, April 26, 2001 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born March 1, 1930 in Burgin, he was the son of the late Willie and Eva Lener Carmickle Price.
He had worked as a carpenter and was a member of Shawnee Run Baptist church.
Survivors include: one son, William A. Price, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Pam Bugg, Harrodsburg; one brother, LeRoy Price, Cincinnati, OH; four sisters, Rose Peavler, Burgin, Helen Foster and Marie Willis, both of Harrodsburg, Irene Robinson, Salvisa; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and J. B. Price; one sister, Lucille Sanders.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 28, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Barry Jeffries officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chris Price, Brandon Price, Greg Price, Nikki Bugg, Daryl Watts and Keith Wilham.
Memorials are suggested to Heritage Hospice.

CLEO PROCTOR
Cleo Proctor, 62, of 4461 Cornishville Road, died Monday, April 30, at his residence.
Born January 6, 1939 in Mercer County, he was the son of Jewell Russell Proctor of Stanford and the late Marvin Proctor.
He was a former employee of Mercer Tire, Inc., a member of the Berea Christian Church and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Margaret Ann Votaw Proctor; two sons, Roy Lee Proctor, Mercer County, Hobert (Nancy) Proctor, Harrodsburg; one brother, Bill (Jane) Proctor, Millington, TN; three sisters, Gale Salyers, Lexington, Peggy Lynn Travillian, Mercer County, Vivian Jo (Cecil) Cummins of Lincoln County.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Littrel and Rev. B. J. Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daryl Gray, Bobby Perkins, Gary Buntain, Gene Curtsinger, Hughes Coslow, and David Driscol. Honorary bearers will be Robert Hardin, R. C. Mobley, R. C. Lester, Jewell Mobley, and Donnie Riley.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

ELIZABETH SALE
Elizabeth V. Sale, 90, of 520 Beaumont Avenue, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born January 3, 1911 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Condit B. and Sadie Carter VanArsdall Sr. She was the widow of Forest "Aggie" Sale.
She had been a teacher and had taught in Harrodsburg, Mercer and Boyle County schools.
She was a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church and had been a Sunday School teacher for a number of years.
She was a member of the Harrodsburg Historical Society, DAR, Harrodsburg Woman's Club, and the Mercer County Library Board. She was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Women's College.
Survivors include: one daughter, Elizabeth (Betsy) Sale, Harrodsburg; one brother, Dr. T. Carter VanArsdall. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Condit B. VanArsdall, Jr. and Dr. Charles A. VanArsdall.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 27, at the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church with Dr. David Ross officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold Davis, Van Underwood, Dr. John VanArsdall, Jack Morris, Bruce Springate and John Moffit. Honorary bearers were Harold Kitchen, T. C. "Bud" Dedman and Jeff Brother.

There will be a memorial service and interment of ashes, for John Clinton "Pistol" Woodard, Jr., at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2001 at Camp Nelson National cemetery in Jessamine County.
He died Sunday, November 26, 2000 in Florida.

BRUCE CATLETT
Dr. Bruce Nield Catlett, 67, of Louisville, died Sunday, May 6, 2001 at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville.
He was a native of Mercer County.
He was a US Marine Corps veteran, a veterinarian and founded St. Matthews Animal Clinic in Louisville.
He was a former president of the Jefferson County and Kentucky Veterinary Societies, a member of Cumberland College, UK and Auburn University alumni associations. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 400, the Scottish Rite, Kosair Shrine Temple, and the Hurstbourne Country Club.
Survivors include: his wife, Frances Hooks Catlett; three sons, Bruce Nield II, Brent Nevin and Brook Nolan Catlett; one sister, Janet Reed, Harrodsburg; two brothers, James Catlett, Hopkinsville, and Daryl Catlett, Harrodsburg; two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 9, at the St. Matthews Baptist Church in Louisville.
Memorials are suggested to St. Matthews Baptist Church or the Kentucky Humane Society in Louisville.

WILMA DUNCAN
Wilma Ileen Duncan, 72, of King Arthur Drive, Georgetown, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, May 6, 2001 at the Georgetown Community Hospital. She was the widow of Ivan Lee Duncan
Born in Shelby County, IL, August 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Elza H. and Hazel Pfieffer Cater.
She was a retired employee of McAlpins Department Stores, a member of Mt. Calvery Lutheran Church in Decatur, IL and was a member of the DAV Auxiliary.
Survivors, include: one daughter, Denise Duncan Pierce Merriman, Georgetown; two sons, Carl Ivan Duncan and Alan Lee Duncan, both of Lexington; three sisters, Dollie Doldo, Watertown, NY, Jean Barber and Paulette Carter, both of Decatur, IL; three brothers, Elza Cater Jr. and Dwight Cater, both of Lexington, Wilbur Cater, Joshua, TX; seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Cater.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Elam officiating. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Seth Pierce, Christopher Duncan, Patrick McMahon, Roger Pierce, Michael Merriman and David Collins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 9, form 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Georgetown.

JOSEPH HURT
Joseph Hurt, 66, of Grundy Road, Somerset, died Saturday, May 5, 2001 at the Golden Years Nursing Home in Monticello.
Born May 22, 1934 in Ashland, he was the son of the late Martha Riggens and Joe Hurt.
He was a corn salesman and a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a member of American Legion, Post #38 and graduated from UK in 1957, with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science.
He attended Barnesburg Baptist Church and was a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his step mother, Ellen Cunningham Hurt, Harrodsburg; his wife, Mildred Toby Hurt, Somerset; one step son, John (Eva) Toby, Somerset; one daughter, Martha Tobin, Danville; one step daughter, Doris (Rex) Eggers, Somerset; two brothers, James Hurt, Champaign, IL and David Hurt, Frankfort; one sister, Martha Ann Fraley, Washington DC; two grandchildren, six step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 9, at the Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Dr. John Mark Toby and Bro. Harold Harris officiating. Burial was in Mill Springs National Cemetery.

PAUL JENKINS
Paul Mac Jenkins, 68, of 575 Arden Avenue, died Monday, May 7, 2001 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born May 28, 1932 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late William Murphy and Sallie Jenkins.
He had attended the Harrodsburg Church of Christ.
Survivors include: four sisters, Carolyn Stephens, Ruby Coslow, Nellie Ward and Marie Jenkins, all of Harrodsburg. He was preceded in death by one sister, Lizzie Rae Beasley, four brothers, Estle, William, Fred and Harvey Jenkins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 9, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donnie Releford officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
