Irene Evaline Griswold Cornish, 75, of 827 Hamilton Springs Road, Lancaster, died Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
She was a native of Dryden, MI, and daughter of the late Ralph S. and Eva May Griswold. She was the widow of Fred Larue Cornish.
She was a retired surgical technician at Woodford Memorial Hospital in Versailles and Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville.
She was former owner of B and B Family Restaurant in Harrodsburg, an avid hunter and fisherman and a 1943 graduate of Wilmore High School.
Survivors include: one son, Joe Stallard, Danville; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Nancye) Bailey, Lancaster, and Bobbie Sparks, Lexington; two brothers, Ralph Griswold, Burgin, Edwin Griswold, Paris; two sisters, Gladys Wheat, Lexington, Geraldine Hughes, Wilmore; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Saxon and Joyce Wilson.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 29, at Gash Memorial Chapel with Dr. David Hartman officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass in Lexington, or Heritage Hospice in Danville.
MARGARET ROYALTY
Margaret V. Royalty, 78, of 358 Bonny Lynn Drive, died Thursday, September 28,2000 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born July 6, 1922 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Willie Mae Knight Isham Jordan.
She and her husband owned Royalty's Florist and Gifts from 1958 to 1971.
She was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church and an active community volunteer.
Survivors include: her husband, Huntley Royalty, Harrodsburg; two sons, Mike (Cindy) Royalty and Larry (Beverly) Royalty, all of Harrodsburg; one brother, J. W. Isham, Bowling Green; one sister, Laura Breeding, Harrodsburg; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 30, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. David Hartman officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tommy Breeding, Kelly Breeding, Stephen Bailey, Tom Cox, John Markel and Boots Miller. Honorary bearers were James (Jakie) Claunch and Billy Gilvin.

ALFRED SHELLEY
Alfred Rowlette Shelley, 64, of Linden Lane, Nicholasville, died Saturday, September 30, 2000.
A native of Sparta, he was the son of the late Harold Rowlette and Ruth Mae Duncan Shelley.
He was a graduate of the Nicholasville High School class of 1955, co-owner of George's Drive-In Restaurant from 1959-60 and was employed by CMI Corporation for 33 years where he was Manager of Technical Training and served as Senior Product Support Representative.
He was a charter member of Edgewood Baptist Church and past president of the Jessamine County Little League Baseball program from 1979-1985.
Survivors include: his wife, Joyce Hall Shelley, Nicholasville; four children, Karen (Steve) Butler, Harrodsburg, Becky Sewell, Wilmore, Randy (Ann Marie) Shelley, Nicholasville, Stacy Koening, Wilmore; one brother, Harold "Butch" (Jandiara) Shelley, Nicholasville; two sisters, Rita (Donald) Carter, Nicholasville, Nancye (Bill) Wagoner, Waco; mother-in-law, Hettie Manley Hall, Wimore; six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 4, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin H. Lee officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Nicholasville.
Pallbearers were Virgil "Poochie" Burton, Steve Butler, Donald Carter, Julian Cunningham, Bronnie Fisher, Benjamin Hall, Lonnie Myers and Chris Shelley. Honorary bearers were CMI Corporation, Product Support Division.
JAMES TODD
James Milton Todd, 90, 395 Redding Road, Lexington, died Saturday, September 30, 2000 at the Hospice Care Center of St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
Born September 12, 1910 in Shelbyville, he was a son of the late O. D. Todd and Elizabeth Graves Crapster Todd.
He was a member of the Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church where he had served as elder and trustee. He was a former member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.
He was past vice president of the Shelbyville Rotary Club, former president of the Harrodsburg Rotary club where he was a Rotarian of the Year. He served as president of the Harrodsburg Chamber of Commerce and vice president of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce.
He retired from Kentucky Utilities in 1975 with 40 years service after serving as District Manager in Shelbyville and manager in Harrodsburg and Eminence. He was a Kentucky Colonel.
Survivors include: one daughter, Pat Todd Duncan, Lexington; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were held Wednesday, October 4, at Grove Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, with Bill McCarthy officiating.

VIOLA McGUIRE
Viola Horn McGuire, 74, of Wilmore, died Saturday, September 30, 2000 at the Lexington Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born November 18, 1925 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Jo Ada Winkle Horn, and the widow of Wilson McGuire.
Survivors include: one daughter, Anna Wilson McGuire, Evansville, IN; one grandson, Brian Wilson McGuire, Wilmore, and one great granddaughter, Madeline Marie McGuire;
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 3, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Reed officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harry Ashcraft, Roger Belcher, Dale Perdue, Bobby Horn, Leroy Sanborn and Kenneth Holt.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
DONALD REYNOLDS
Donald "Butch" Reynolds, 47, of 1642 Woodlawn, Shel-byville, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Friday, September 29, 2000 in Shelbyville.
Born January 13, 1953 in Shelby County, he was the son of the late James William and Louise McDonald Reynolds.
He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Army Reserves.
Survivors include: his wife, Cecilia Reynolds; one daughter, Lori Lail, Frankfort; three brothers, Marvin Reynolds, Irving, TX, James Reynolds, Elizabethtown, Anthony Reynolds, Shelbyville; six sisters, Shelia Raisor and Bonita Chesher, both of Shelbyville, Betty Lisby, Louisville, Tina Tracy, Waddy, Susan Reynolds, Radcliffe and Hanna Cordes, Seymour, IN; two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.

CONNIE YEAST
Connie Yeast, 74, of 441 Linden Avenue, died Sunday, October 1, 2000 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born March 7, 1926, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late John and Cordie Darland Yeast.
He was a retired truck driver, an army veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW.
Survivors include: his wife, Vivian Gabhart Yeast, Harrodsburg; one son, Roy Lee Yeast, Perryville; one step daughter, Donnetta Wheeler, Clinton, IL; two brothers, Chester Yeast, Portland, OR and Warren Yeast, Albuquerque, NM; one grandchild, three step grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Glenn, Willard, Claude and Harvey Yeast; two sisters, Nona Blacketer and Hazel White; one half-sister, Effie Shewmaker.
Graveside services, with military rites, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, at Bruner’s Chapel Cemetery with Carlos B. Lester officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

MARQUETTA HALE
Marquetta Ann Rice "Sissy" Hale, 40, of 3600 Bohon Road, died Wednesday, October 4, at her home of an apparent heart attack.
Born March 13, 1960 in Woodford County, she was the daughter of David and Ada McKinney Rice of Mercer County.
She was an employee of Kroger in Harrodsburg.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: two daughters, Jennifer May Hale, and Sherry (Joseph) Sanders; three sisters, Jamie Riley, Rebecca Tingle and Rubena Searcy; three brothers, David Rice Jr., Justus Rice and Patrick Ellis Rice, all of Mercer County.
Funeral services were held, October 7, at the Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home, 161 Broadway, Versailles, with Bro. Jack Guerin officiating. Burial was in Rose Crest Cemetery in Woodford County.
Pallbearers were David Rice, Justus Rice, Patrick Rice, Anthony Rice, Joseph Sanders and Mitchell Searcy.
TISH HYDE
Tish Trisler Hyde, 37, of 9370 Indian Springs Road, Roswell, GA, died Monday, October 2, 2000 at her residence.
Born January 19, 1963 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of Ruth Shirley Trisler of Harrodsburg and the late Calvin Trisler.
She was a housewife and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: her husband, David Hyde, Roswell, GA; two step sons, Jeff and Nicholas Hyde, GA; two step daughters, Susanna Shewan and Vanessa Hyde, GA; one half brother, Gary Harris, Lexington; one sister, Ann Taylor, Harrodsburg; one half sister, Cri Connley, Portsmouth, OH.
Funeral services were held October 8, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Chuck McKinney, John David Taylor, Chuckie Taylor, Sonny Ransdell, Brent Combs, Billy Russell, Marty Walker and Tim Humber. Honorary bearers were Becky McKinney, Melissa Cutter and Jackie Doughty.

NANCY THOMAS
Nancy Thomas, 88, of 320 South Main, Salvisa, died Saturday, October 7, 2000 at her residence.
Born March 21, 1912 in Salvisa, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Mary Howard Booth.
She was co-owner and operator of The Old Barn, a former teacher at Fugazzi Business College and was a nurse for the American Red Cross during World War II, at the 82nd General Hospital in England and the 100th General Hospital in France.
She was a member of the Salvisa Methodist Church and Salvisa Senior Citizens.
Survivors include: her husband, Jesse Thomas, Salvisa; one son, Joe Thomas, Key Largo, FL; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held October 9, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tony Antonelli and Rev. Frank Pennington officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cliff Kidwell, Don Taylor, Wayne Yeager, Bobbie Hardin, Nelson Collins and John Gessinger. Honorary bearers were Clyde Booth, Ralph Booth, Charles Gorham, Louis Sea and Franklin Renfroe.
