William "Willy" Moberly, 37, Lexington, died Sunday, December 30, 2001 at his residence.
A native of Lexington, he attended Calvary Nazarene Church and was a member of NRA.
Survivors include: a son, Joseph William Moberly of Williamsburg; his mother, Sylvia Jean Moberly Romano of Lexington; his wife, Lucinda Moberly of Williamsburg; two sisters, Sandra Kabaugh of Waco and Sheila Kay Mondelli of Lexington, and several aunts including Louise Woods of Harrodsburg.
Funeral services were held January 3 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home with the Revs. Gary Henry and David Young officiating. Burial was in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Charles Williams Jr., Ricky Moberly, Richard Johnson, Billy Mondelli, Jason Mondelli, David Walje and Melvin Carrington. David Moore was an honorary pallbearer.

VERLEE STEEN
Verlee Steen, 68, of Belle, MO, died Saturday, January 5, 2002 at her home.
Born November 17, 1933 in Jefferson City, MO, she was the daughter of Dorthy Walker Cook of Belle and the late George Cook.
She was retired from Kingsford Charcoal. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Belle, MO.
In addition to her mother, survivors include three sons, Doug Steen of Seattle, Washington, Chris Steen of Rolla, MO, and Tim Steen of Tipton; two daughters, Sherri Cox of Harrodsburg and Vicki Walz of Belle; four brothers, Bob Cook of Wyoming, Billy Cook of Belle, Roger Cook of Alton, MO, and Greg Cook of Belle; three sisters, Cora Steen of Belle, Barbara Hollingsworth of Owensville, MO, and Brenda Martin of Belle, and 13 grandchildren. Steen was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Cook and Delmer Cook, and two grandchildren, Tommy Cox and Jessica Steen.
Funeral services were held on January 8 at Sassman's Chapel in Belle. Bro. Doug Lane officiated.

ROBERT THOMAS SR.
Robert Manuel Thomas Sr., 69, of Kennedy Bridge Road in Mercer County died Monday, January 14, 2002 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born June 8, 1932 in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Ed Thomas and Rubin Ruth Brown Thomas and was the husband of Nancy Murphy Thomas.
He was a truck driver for Consolidated Freight, where he worked for 31 years. He had attended Faith Baptist Church Lexington and was a member of Local Teamsters 651 in Lexington. He was also a Hot Wheels collector, loved exotic birds and his Jack Russell Terriers.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two sons,: Robert Thomas Jr. of Junction City and Billy Thomas of Mercer County; three daughters, Sharon Barnes of Nicholasville, Donna Thomas of Lexington and Jackie Thomas Conrad of Lexington; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Newland officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gentry Sizemore, Bill Carr, Clarence Caudill, Eddie Dunaway, Malcum Butcher and Phillip Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Burton and Sharon Risden.
Visitation was from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.

Douglas Laws Post #52, American Legion Post #6935, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans Post #54 conducted military rites for Ray McGinnis on January 3, 2002 at Spring Hill Cemetery. Those attending were: Joe Harlow, Preston Burgin, Lucian Landers, James L. Tewmey, Howard Howells, Roy Freeman and Tom Denny.

J. T. DAVENPORT
J. T. Daven-port, 71, of Paxton Road, Lawrence-burg, died Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at the VA Medical Center, Leestown Road, Lexington.
Born June 11, 1930 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Doran Kavanaugh and Bertha McCoy Davenport.
He was a farmer, a member of the Lawrenceburg First United Methodist Church, a lifelong member of VFW Post #4075, Frankfort, and the DAV. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include: two sons, Dudley (Minnie) Davenport, Luther (Ann) Davenport, both of Lawrenceburg; two sisters, Elgeather (Clarence) Sharp, Mary Anna Drury, both of Lawrenceburg; one brother, Cecil (Marie) Davenport, Salvisa; 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Aubrey Davenport.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 18, at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mark Gibbons and Bro. Robert Logue officiating. Burial was in Hebron cemetery in Anderson County.
Pallbearers were Allen Davenport, Jimmy Dean Durr, John Davenport, Wesley Sharp, Donald Dotson, Bobby Hyatt, Ricky Davenport, and Doran Davenport. ROY FREEMAN
Willie Roy Freeman, 70, of 255 Davenport Road, died Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
Born September 5, 1931 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Gabe and Margaret Hurst Freeman.
He was a retired farmer and Mercer County School bus driver. He was a member of the Ebenezer Church of Christ.
He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include: his wife, Eula J. Downey Freeman, Harrodsburg; one son, Roy Lynn Freeman, Mercer County; two brothers, Marvin Freeman, Mercer County, and Leon Freeman, Louisville; one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2002 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Terry Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National cemetery in Nicholasville with military rites.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Bryant, Hal Bryant, Harold Lusby, "Baldy" Dean, Kenny Deana nd Tony Price. Honorary bearers will be mebvers of the VFW and Amerian Legion.
Visitation will be at the chapel from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

IMOGENE JONES
Imogene Taulbee Jones, 85, formerly of Seattle Drive, Lexington, died Monday, January 21, 2002 in the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Frankfort.
Born in Weston, MO, she was the daughter of the late W. D. and Ora Shrout Taulbee.
She was a retired private duty registered nurse after 50 years and a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Robert Willis (Ruth) Jones, Harrodsburg; one sister, Ina Murray, Barrington, NJ; one brother, William D. Taulbee, Headland, AL; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Julian Allan and Pearlie Lee Jones, three sisters, Mary Cynthia Shrout, Mamie Conklin and Maxine Herrington, and a great grandson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, at Broadway Baptist Church with Rev. C. Hoge Hockensmith officiating. Burial will be in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Jessamine County.
Pallbearers will be Delynn Jones, Darin Jones, Dathan Jones, Aaron Jones, Ronald Gene Jones, Billy Carroll and Wendell Morris.

HELEN LEATHERS
Helen Louise Hungate Leathers, 83, of Beech Grove, IN, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born December 23, 1918 in IL, she was the daughter of the late Davis and Gertrude Gabhart Hungate. She was the widow of Charles A. Leathers, Sr.
She was a piano teacher and homemaker. She was a member of Southwood Baptist Church in Beech Grove, and was church organist and pianist for 38 years. She was a member of the Beech Grove Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include: two sons, Thomas Leathers, Beech Grove, IN; Charles A. Leathers, Jr., Germany; three daughters, Norma Catherine Donlon, Nancy Louise Winters, Betty Jane Stringer; one brother, Claude Hungate; 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 20, at the Little & Sons Beech Grove Chapel. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville, KY on Tuesday, January 22.

J. BRUCE LOANE
Jack Bruce Loane, 89, formerly of Bellows Mill Road, died Saturday, December 22, 2001 at the Ozark Regional Health Care Center in Crane, MO.
Born May 17, 1912 in New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of the late Robert and Beatrice Maude Dibblee Loane. He was the widower of Orphea Lucille Anguish.
He was a retired shipping clerk for General Electric Corp and attended Immanuel Baptist Church, Faulkner Lane, Danville.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Loane, Cape Fair, MO; four grandchildren, Jeff Loane, Jr., Burgin, Christi Phillips, Harrodsburg, Cynthia Sheldon, Hutchinson, KS and Martin Loane, Cape Fair, MO; five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Allen Loane.
A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26.
