Jeanette (Hager) Curd, 62, of Herrington Woods, died Monday, February 4, 2002 at her home.
Born December 14, 1938 in Prestonsburg, she was the daughter of Eugene and Mildred Blevins Hager.
She was founder and former owner of Char-Net Maid Service in Harrodsburg.
Survivors include: her husband, Charles Curd, Mercer County, one son, Gene (Tami) Laferty, Perryville; three step sons, Chuck (Jennifer) Curd, Mike (Jana) Curd and Mitch Curd, all of Lexington; two sisters, Jonel Burchett and Mrs. John (Eula) DeBoard, both of Wabash, IN; six step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step daughter, Brenda Curd and a sister, Joyce Knaverhase.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2002 at the McDonald Funeral Home, Eddingfield Chapel, Wabash, IN with Pastor Steve Parks officiating.
Memorials are suggested to Heritage Hospice, PO Box 1213, Danville, KY 40423 or to the Lexington Clinic Foundation for Cancer Education, Lexington, KY.
Visitation will be at the chapel from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Falls Cemetery, Wabash.

JAMES GRAHAM
James D. Graham, 84, of Ellicott City, MD, died Thursday, November 8, 2001 in Columbia, MD.
Born September 8, 1917 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth McCrosky Graham.
He was educated in the Harrodsburg city schools and received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Kentucky.
He had worked for the USC&GS (NOS) and was an army veteran, retiring with the rank of Lt. Col., after seven years of active duty and 16 years in the reserves.
He retired from the General Electric Co. in 1982.
He was a member of the US Power Squadron and received his full certificate in 1985. He was elected to the Bridge in 1985 and served as Commander in 1986. He served on the Rules Committee, the Mark 5 Publication and was a member of the National Publications Committee.
He enjoyed sailing, teaching, reading and his computer. He was known affectionately as "Mr. Squadron" by the members.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, November 17, at the Church of the Resurrection in Ellicott City, MD.
Interment of ashes and committal services will be held in Spring Hill cemetery on Monday, May 6.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a local chapter of the American Diabetes Association.

Luda Humfleet, 94, of 325 Adams Lane, mother of Rev. Harley Humfleet, died Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at her residence.
Arrangements are incomplete at the Shumate Funeral Home in Middlesboro.

DANIEL MILLS
Daniel E. Mills, 83, of Austin, TX, died Saturday, February 2, 2002.
A native of Harrodsburg, he was a retired industrial engineer with General Electric and Tracor Aerospace. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include: his wife, Martha J. Mills, Austin, TX; three daughters, Susan E. (Donald), Jones, Garland, TX, Marjorie (Stephen) Sabino, Birmingham, AL, Jeanne Johns, Mansfield, TX; three sons, Daniel S. (Leslie) Mills, The Woodlands, TX; Douglas Mills, San Antonio, TX and Robert Mills, Austin, TX; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Burial will be in Ft. Sam National cemetery in San Antonio, TX at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of one's choice.

WILLIAM PEAVLER
William "Bill" Peavler, 58, of Louisville, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002.
Born April 6, 1943 in Mercer County, he was the son of Janice Henry Peavler and the late Condit B. Peavler.
He was a sales representative for Caudill Seed Company, a member of the River City Street Rods and an avid bowler.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: one daughter, Debra Broady, Scottsburg, IN; one brother, Jim Peavler, Louisville; three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 2, at the Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home, 4109 Taylorsville Road, Louisville with burial in Pennsylvania Run Cemetery.

JOYCE PEEL
Joyce May Peel, 71, of Pleasant Hill Drive, Burgin, died Thursday, January 31, 2002 at her residence.
Born May 6, 1930 in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late William and Cannie East May. She was the widow of William Peel.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Shawnee Run Baptist Church, was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.
Survivors include: two sons, Bill (Janet) Peel, Harrodsburg, Steve Peel, Burgin; two daughters, Barbara (Richard) Lyons, Burgin, Patricia (Johnnie) Mattingly, Lebanon; one brother, Elmer May, Lancaster; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 2, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Smith officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lee Lyons, Richard Lyons, Bill Lyons, Tony Bailey, Ronnie Hungate and Earl Hungate, Jr.

GEORGIA SETTLES
Georgia Chloe Lanham Settles, 70, of Perryville Road, Springfield, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at her residence.
Born August 6, 1931 in Washington County, she was a daughter of the late William L., Sr. and Mayme Alice Pope Lanham. She was the widow of Donald Settles.
She was a Baptist and a retired school bus driver for the Washington County School System.
Survivors include: two daughters, Gayle (Bill) Bottoms, Willisburg, Donna Hawkins, Harrodsburg; three sons, Terry (Debra) Settles, Webster, Randy (Frances) Settles, Springfield, Ricky (Jennifer) Settles, Willisburg; one sister, Mrs. Porter (Mattie Frances) Hatchett, Springfield; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyne, Coyle and W. L. Lanham.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 1, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield, with Rev. Bobby Chester and Bro Robert E. Jones officiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery at Willisburg.
Pallbearers were Stacy Bottoms, Michael Settles, Donnie Settles, Bradley Campbell, Jerry Hatchett and Larry Lanham.

JOHN TINGLE
John Robert Tingle, 69, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Springfield died Wednesday, January 30, 2002 at the VA Hospital in Lexington.
Born August 29, 1932 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Herbert and Minnie Harlow Tingle.
He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and a Marine veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include: two sons, Johnnie Dale (Sheila) Tingle, Gravel Switch; Tony Allen (Donna) Tingle, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Kathy (Gary) Sanford, Debbie (Steve) Elliott, both of Harrodsburg, and Johnya (Billy) Bottoms, Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. R. C. (Martha) Offutt and Mrs. Ruby Noel, both of Springfield; two brothers, Billy Tingle, Springfield and Leroy Tingle, Louisville; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Douglas Tingle, and a brother, Randall Tingle.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 2, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home, Springfield, with Rev. David Simpson officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steve Tingle, Greg Tingle, Mike Tingle, Jeff Tingle, Ronnie Thornton and Billy Bottoms. Honorary bearers were grandchildren, Kara Tingle, Travis Tingle, Jordan Bottoms, Mike Sanford, Jason Sanford, Kelli Tingle Cooper, Nikki Elliott and Stevie Elliott.

WALLACE WHITE
Wallace Donald White, 74, of 330 Barr Street, died Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
Born July 31, 1927 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Charles Gordon and Lillie Doyle White. He was the widower of Christine B. Crawford White.
He had worked as a tool and die technician for Universal Fastener. He was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, VFW and served in the US Navy during World War II.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Jo Lawson and Margaret Ann (Randy) Grider, both of Harrodsburg; two sons, Charles D. White, Harrodsburg and David G. White, Porter, IN; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Sam Stow and Lester Tirey officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
