Delphia Marie Whitlock Reeves Dees, 82, of 590 Skyline Drive, Stanford, died Saturday, May 25, 2002 at her residence.
Born July 5, 1919 in Minors Branch, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Gertie King Mills. She was the widow of Donald Dees.
She was a retired fabric cutter at Palm Beach in Danville and a member of Blue Lick Baptist Church.
She enjoyed quilting, crafts, music and CB radio.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Whitlock, Danville; three daughters, Pauline Douglas, Danville, Faye Chapman, Harrodsburg and Joyce Nevius, Stanford; one stepdaughter, Gwen Sizemore, Covington; two brothers, Delbert (Doc) Mills, Frankfort, Oatley Mills, Gravel Switch; two sisters, Myrtle Waits, Danville and Edith Daugherty, Forkland; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sylvester and Lowell Mills, and one daughter, Anna Lois Dees.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 29 at Fox Funeral Home in Stanford with Bro. Steven Owens and Bro. Wayne Stephens officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Stanford.
Memorials are suggested to Heritage Hospice of Danville.

BERNICE HARRIS
Bernice Louise VanDyke Harris, 70, of West Factory Street, died Monday, May 27, 2002 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born December 23, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Eddie VanDyke and Lucy May Smith VanDyke Edwards.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Earl Wayne Harris Sr., Harrodsburg; one son, Earl Wayne (Lois) Harris; two sisters, Loraine Bell, Lexington and Mary E. (Rev. Herman) Bradshaw; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the Centennial Baptist Church with Bro. John D. Short III and Elder Ward officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Maurice Harris, Todd Harris, Andy Harris, Robert Harris, Tilton Bradshaw and Cecil Smith.
Visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

KASTEN HAWKINS
Kasten Blake Hawkins, infant son of David Keith and Shashana Louise Coleman Hawkins of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, May 25, 2002 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
Survivors, in addition to the parents, include: a sister, Keygan Nichole Hawkins, Harrodsburg, maternal grandparents, Larry and Jennifer Coleman, Danville, paternal grandmother, Dianne (Brad) Poole, Lawrenceburg; paternal grandfather, Edwin Keith (Faye) Hawkins, Frankfort; maternal great grandmother, Nancy Coleman, Dayton, OH and Paternal great grandmother, Mary Lois Hawkins, Bloomfield.
Graveside services were held. Monday, May 27, at Spring Hill cemetery with Bro. Chris Akins officiating.

MARIA HURTIZ
Maria Sara Hurtiz, 81, of 216 Terrace Court, Danville, died Thursday, May 23, 2002 at the home of her daughter in Harrodsburg.
Born November 27, 1920 in Monterrey, Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Esau and Sara Zambrano and was the widow of Dr. H. R. Hurtiz.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall, Danville.
Survivors include: three daughters, Leticia (Bernie) McGlone, Harrodsburg; Corelia (Larry) Teague, Danville and Belinda Ballard, Junction City.
Funeral services were heldTuesday, May 28, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Gary Story officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.
Pallbearers were Alex Bentley, Adam and Aaron Ballard, Chris Lowe, Jerod Dishman and Dennis Wheeler.

ADA NORVELL
Ada C. Norvell, 76, of N. East Street, died Friday, May 24, 2002 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born August 21, 1925 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Martha Patterson Claunch. She was the widow of Gilbert Norvell.
She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Jimmy Norvell, Harrodsburg, and Ricky Norvell, NY; one daughter, Bonnie Jean Hawkins, Lawrenceburg; one sister, Marie Sanders, Lexington; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 27, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Harley officiating. Burial was in the Bruner's Chapel Cemetery.

Doris Bryant Rue, 79, of Lexington, formerly of Somerset and Harrodsburg, died May 22, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
A native of Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Myrtie Combest Bryant. She was the widow of Insco Williams Rue Jr.
She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, a former member of Harrodsburg Baptist and First Baptist Church in Somerset.
Survivors include: two daughters, Rebecca J. Rue, Lexington; Sharon Rue (Tom) Cheak, Danville; one son, Insco Williams (Judy) Rue III, Danville; one sister, June Roberson, Chattanooga, TN; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Friday, May 24 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington.

HARMON SHEWMAKER
Harmon Shewmaker, 93, of Mackville, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born December 10, 1908 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Durwood and Myrtle Harmon Shewmaker. He was the widower of Blanche Royalty Shewmaker.
He was a member of the Mackville United Methodist Church and Magnolia Masonic Lodge 201.
He was a retired farmer and a farm machinery dealer. He was a 1927 graduate of Mackville High School.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 24, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield, with Rev. Randy Hawkins, Rev. Barry Harmon and Rev Greg Bowen officiating. Burial was in the Peter Cemetery, Mackville.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
Memorials are suggested to the Mackville Community Development Center or New Harmony Baptist Church building fund.

BERRY SIMS
Berry L. Sims, 74, of 507 Pleasant Hill Drive, Burgin, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born November 21, 1927 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Garland W. and Letha Poulter Sims.
He worked as a systems supervisor for Kentucky Utilities and attended Burgin Baptist Church.
He served in the army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include: his wife, Patsy S. Sims, Burgin; two sons, John (Joyce) Sims and Jeff (JoAnn) Sims, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, Wesley Sims, Stanford; two sisters, Georgia Hoover and Anna Lee Manning, both of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 25, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Hamby officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kevin Sims, Kurt Sims, Cary Howard, Hal Satterly, Mike Watts and Al Hart. Honorary bearers were Curtis Bailey, Bill Bradshaw and Bob Williams.
