Sheri Nell Gilvin, 41, of Paris, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002.
A native of Georgetown, she was the daughter of Eugene Burns and Betty Tincher Gilvin.
She was a self-employed daycare worker and a graduate of Scott County High School and Georgetown College.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: five sons, Phil, Michael, Josh, John and Jake Gilvin; one daughter-in-law, Crimson; two sisters, Marchel (Gene) Kirk, Versailles, and Ronda (Phillip) McClain, Harrodsburg; maternal grandmother, Lena Tincher; and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Eugene Gilvin.
Funeral services were Saturday, June 15, at Johnson's Funeral Home, Georgetown, by Dr. Michael Gibbons. Burial was in Georgetown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gene Kirk, Phillip, Eugene and Jeremy McLain, Steve Linville, Tom Hendrix, Chris Vanarsdall and Brad Walls.

HATTIE REED
Hattie Elizabeth Reed, 78, of 419 Carrigan Drive, Danville, died Friday, June 14, 2002 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born February 20, 1924 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles Parker and Dovie Hardin Jenkins and was the widow of James Reed.
She was a retired Corning Glass employee and was a member of Indian Hills Christian Church in Danville.
Survivors include: two sisters, Margaret (Russell) Lester and Edith Nowlin, both of Harrodsburg; four brothers, James (Connie) Jenkins, Lexington, Buford (Deanie) Jenkins, and Elmer Jenkins, both of Lincoln County, and Earl (Grace) Jenkins, Versailles.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 17, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Odis Clark and Rev. Lance Ladd officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were nieces and nephews.

DAVID PHILLIPS
David W. Phillips, 81, of 415 Harrods Court, died Monday, June 17, 2002 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born June 27, 1920 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late David William and Mattie Kurtz Phillips. He was the widower of Jewell Harlow Phillips.
He was a former Harrodsburg policeman, employee of Housing Authority and Coleman's Lumber Company for several years. He attended the Bohon Baptist church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Shirley Wheeler, Harrodsburg; three sons, Ivan and David Phillips Jr., both of Burgin, and Clarence Phillips, Harrodsburg; three brothers, Stanley Phillips, Lawrenceburg, Carl Phillips, Lexington, and Raymond Phillips, MI; two sisters, Lena Sims, Harrodsburg, and Ruth Grider, Lexington; a special companion, Nellie Phillippe; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son, James Phillips, one brother, Albert Phillips, and one sister, Sarah Hall.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Logue officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Grider Jr., John B. Phillips, Ronnie and Donnie Sims, Sonny Driskell, David Devine, Tim Phillips and C. D. Wheeler.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of one's choice.
Visitation will be at the chapel form 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and prior to services on Thursday.

CHARLOTTE ANDERSON
Charlotte Dale Brackett Anderson, 52, of 530 Bellows Mill Road, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 25, 1950 in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late John Gale and Thelma Patterson Brackett.
She had worked for 26 years as a senior clerk typist for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department of Human Resources and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was a graduate of Somerset Vocational School and a member of the Trace Fork Separate Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Howard 'Jack' Anderson, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Jaclyn Dale Baker, Mercer County; one son, Phillip Anderson, Harrodsburg; one sister, Rebecca Gail Mathews, Russell Springs; one brother, Rickey John Brackett, Lancaster, three grandsons, Joshua Anderson, Scott County, Jacob and Andrew Baker, Mercer County.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Jerel Coffey and James Holloman officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dallon Mathews, Tommy Mathews, Terry Baker, David Odgen, James Holloman and Daryl Lewis.

JESSIE BARNETT
Jessie B. Barnett, 20, of 1696 Bellows Mill Road, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002 in a water tower accident in Mortons Gap.
Born August 27, 1981 in Danville, he was the son of Kirtley Kendall and Lisa G. Cochran Barnett.
He worked as a painter for Currens Co. Tank and Tower. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: one sister, Tara (Logan) Andre, Harrodsburg; paternal grandmother, Lou Will Barnett, Mercer County; his fiancée, Holly Jo Sowder, Harrodsburg. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Liberty Cochran and paternal grandfather, Bernice Barnett.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 21, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, 1280 Faulkner Lane, Danville, with Rev. Harold Best and Rev. Barry Jeffries officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lynn Cochran, Jarrod Elam, Nathan Cochran, Callee Elam, Willis Barnett and Casee Barnett. Honorary bearer was Josh Horn.

MARSHALL CARMICKLE
Marshall Walter Carmickle, 71, of Cap Bottom Lane, died Friday, June 21, 2002 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born April 2, 1931 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Jake and Loretta Helen Smith Carmickle.
He was a self employed stone mason and was a farmer. He was a Baptist and he enjoyed trapping and collecting guns and knives.
Survivors include: one son, Walter Julian Carmickle, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Pam Carmickle, Harrodsburg; one brother, Jack Carmickle, Harrodsburg; three sisters, Ruby Willoughby, Bowling Green, Pauline Garcia, Cincinnati, OH, and Frances Carmickle, Harrodsburg; two grandchildren, Sean Gregory and Natasha Carmickle.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 24, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Smith officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville.
Pallbearers were L. D. Nickles, Wayne Carmickle, Ezra Hopper, Bill Ward, Kenny Willoughby, Connie Kirkpatrick, Ronnie Carmickle and Bowen Edward Carmickle.

ERIC DAVIS
Eric Buren Davis, 29, McAfee Lane, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born April 7, 1973 in Lexington, he was the son of Ron and Pat Coffey Davis of Mercer County.
He was an environmental field specialist for Haworth, Meyer and Bolen in Frankfort. He was a graduate of Mercer County High School, Eastern Kentucky University, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church, a Nascar fan, and loved fishing, movies, hunting and reading.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: his wife, Samantha Akers Davis, Mercer County; one brother, Eddie (Lori) Davis, Lawrenceburg; one sister, Sheri Lynn Davis, Mercer County; his god-brother, Billy Beasley; mother- and father-in-law, Patty and Sammy Akers, Salvisa.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Catlett, Sean Baker, Troy Cheak, Jeff Moon, Ed Devine, Brian Briscoe, Mike Rigney, Billy Jack Fredrick, Billy Beasley, Eddie Davis, Rick Akers, Jarrod Sharp and Brian Arnold.

GARNETT DEVINE
Garnett Lee Devine, 61, of Rogers Court, died Saturday, June 22, 2002 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born September 23, 1940 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Otha and Viola Royalty Devine.
He was retired, having worked in construction and at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, enjoyed rooster fighting, knife collecting and horse-back riding.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary Wayne Devine and Allan Lee Devine, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, Donald J. Devine, Harrodsburg; three sisters, Helen Devine Black, St. Petersburg, FL, Loretta B. Casey and Jenny Burton, both of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Wayne Devine.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 25, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Chaplain Gary Story and Bro. Harold Best officiating. Burial was in Patterson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jess (Toby) Farmer, Salvador (Sal) Pardise, James Jackson, Don Smith, Scott Garrison, Donald French and Bobby Royalty.

HELEN ELLIOTT
Helen Ruth Elliott, 69, of 982 Perryville Road, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born November 12, 1932 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of Roach and Margie Green Farney.
She was a retired inspector for Corning, Inc. and was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors, include: her husband, William Albert Elliott, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Linda G. Elliott, Danville, and Kathy Smalley, Garrard County; two sisters, Grace Devine and Leona Bradley, both of Harrodsburg; one grandson, Chris Farthing; two granddaughters, Sharon Farthing and Kellie Smalley; one great-grandchild, Jordan Farthing. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lee Elliott, and three brothers, Buddy, Tinker and Condit Farney.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 21, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Smith and Larry Reed officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
