David Michael Stratton, 59, of Lexington, formerly of Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, October 21, 2000 in Lawrenceburg.
Born in Anderson County, April 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Obed and Madge Holt Stratton.
He was a former employee of Texas Instruments, a 1959 graduate of Western Anderson High School and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. David (Rhonda) Anderson, Danville and Mrs. Tim (Jennifer) Nichols, Harrodsburg; four sisters, Lenora Drummond, Mrs. Charles (Janice) Peach and Mrs. Winston (Geraldine) Drury, all of Lawrenceburg and Mrs. Ernest (Jane) Wood of Georgetown; three brothers, Billy (Joyce) Stratton and Kenneth "Bud" (Jo) Stratton, all of Lawrenceburg, and Silas Stratton of Frankfort; seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 23, at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Redding officiating. Burial was in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
DORIS ROGERS
Doris Jean Benham Rogers, age 57, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Washington County, died Saturday, October 14, 2000 at the Hospice of the Bluegrass Center in Lexington.
Born August 4, 1943 in Marion County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Hazel Sagracy Benham.
Survivors include: her husband, Marvin E. Rogers, Harrodsburg; one son, Robert E. Rogers, Bullhead, AZ; one brother, James Benham, Harrodsburg; and one sister, Linda Settles, Harrodsburg. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Benham.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 18, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. John McDaniel officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Willisburg.
Pallbearers were Jamie Benham, Chris Benham, Leon Benham, Glen Allen Settles, Dale Stumph and Greg Britton. Honorary bearers were Robbie Dye, Sam Rasnake and Ronnie Baker.
ROSALIE SUTTON
Rosalie Vivian Matheny Barnes Sutton, 83, of Pathfork, KY, died Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at her residence.
Born April 23, 1917 in Charleston WV, she was the daughter of the late E. J. and Ura Helen Weeks Matheny.
She was a member of the Onsell Baptist Church.
Survivors include: four sons, James Barnes, Pathfork, Earnest (Vivian) Barnes, Pathfork, Keith (Norma) Barns, Pathfork, Paul (Theresa) Barnes, Rio Vista; three daughters, Mary Barnes (Monroe) Ealy, Pathfork, Glenna Barnes (Joe) Brooks, Bulls Gap, TN, Barbara Barnes (Lester) Tirey, Harrodsburg; one brother, Harry Matheny, Berea; 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by: three brothers, Paul, Ralph, and Charles Matheny; one sister, Beulah Matheny; one son, Charles Barnes.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 21, at the Pathfork Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Green and Rev. John Ledger officiating. Burial was in the Saylor Cemetery, Pathfork.
Pallbearers were friends of the family.
JOHN TRISLER
John C. Trisler, 85, of 591 Boswell Street, died Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born June 26, 1915 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late John and Lucy Barer Trisler.
He had worked as a tobacco grader for the U. S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church for 72 years and the Glad Hand Sunday School class.
Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Jackson Trisler, Harrodsburg; two sons, John D. (Kay) Trisler and Larry T. (Mary Frances) Trisler, both of Harrodsburg; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 21, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Whitehouse and Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gerald Sheperson, Harold Ballard, Tony Pinkston, Paul Devine, John Markel and Lee Dean. Honorary bearers were members of the Glad Hand Sunday School class.

WALTER FOSTER
Walter Foster, 95, of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, October 24, 2000 at the James B. Haggin Hospital Extended Care.
Born March 4, 1905 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Elias and Esther Sanders Foster. He was the widower of Hazel D. Sanders Foster.
He was a member of the Cornishville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and he had many occupations including farming, carpentry, handyman and an employee of Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill.
Survivors include: one son, Robert L. Foster, Versailles; one daughter, Elizabeth A. Foster, Miami, FL; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 26, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Readnour officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Burke, Billy Grider, George Hendrix, Aubrey J. McMullin, Marty McMullin, Greg Brown, Royce Cornish, and Garland Hoskins.
Visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service.
BEN HURST
Ben C. Hurst, Jr., 86, of 478 Cornishville Street, died Saturday, October 21, 2000 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born January 16, 1914 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Ben C., Sr. and Sallie Brummett Hurst.
He was a retired truck driver and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Blanche Hurst; three sons, Joe (Ruby) Hurst, Martin (Peggy) Hurst, and Condit (Judy) Hurst, all of Harrodsburg; one sister, Mary Rose Blacketer, Harrodsburg; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Brack, Millard and Jim Hurst, and two sisters, Viola Votaw and Nannie Darnell.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 24, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Harley and Edwin Freeman officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brandon Hurst, Scott Hurst, Brad Hurst, Brian Hurst, Marty Hurst and Bruce Patterson. Honorary bearers were Dr. John S. Baughman, Vince Kinder, Bugs Kinder, J. C. Patterson, Larry Patterson and Tommy Hurst.

RUTH ROBINS
Ruth Belle Robins, 88, of 235 E. Main St., Burgin, died Tuesday, October 24, 2000 at her residence.
Born July 25, 1912 in Wilson, OK, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Beulah Emerson Brown. She was the widow of Charlie Robins.
She was a retired nurse’s aide for Kentucky State Hospital, a member of the Burgin Baptist Church and the Mercer County Senior Citizens.
Survivors include: three sons, C. H., Alan and Donnie Robins, all of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Twylia Anderson, Knoxville, TN; one brother, H. B. Brown, Wilson, OK; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers: A. B. and R. B. Brown; two sisters, Ethel Williams and Jewell Wells; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 27, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Al Gisler officiating. Burial will be in Burgin Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gibson, Russell Denney, Lawrence Crouch, Tommy Freeman, Rodney Stine and Barry Brumfield.

ODESSA WINN
Odessa Elizabeth Williams Winn, age 42, of 735 Perryville Road, died Monday, October 23, 2000 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born March 18, 1958 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of James Franklin Williams and Lillian Hayden Williams.
She was a self-employed Nanny and a member of the Centennial Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: her husband, Charles Richard Winn, Harrodsburg; two sons, Charles Winn, Jr., and Mandric Winn, both of Lexington; two daughters, Marthenia Winn, Georgetown and Montoyia Winn, Lexington; three brothers, James Williams, Jr., Winfield and Caravan Williams, all of Harrodsburg; maternal grandmother, Lillian E. Cunningham, Harrodsburg; two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, one brother, Scotland Williams and two sisters, Shannon Williams Ryan and Leslie Williams.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, October 27, at the Centennial Baptist Church with Rev. J. D. Short III officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memory Gardens in Bourbon County.
Pallbearers were Dennis and Derek Johnson, Fred Bottoms, Carl Bartleson, Larry Andrews and Bentley Jones. Honorary bearers were Don Smith, Greg Smith and Mike Evans.
OLLIE PERKINS
Ollie Mae Perkins, 84, of Harrodsburg Health Care Center, formerly of Burgin, died Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born June 12, 1916 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Smith V. and Grace Phillips Perkins.
She was a member of the Burgin Christian Church, an avid reader and a former postal service volunteer.
Survivors include: one sister-in-law, Margot Perkins, Mercer County; two nephews, Smith Perkins III, Mercer County, and Kevin R. Perkins, FL. She was preceded in death by a brother, Smith V. Perkins, Jr. and a niece, Grace Ann Perkins Bailey.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 27, at Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Gearhart officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ruel Hardin, Charles Goodlett, Bud Vanarsdall and Pat Lear. Honorary bearers were Stephen Bailey and Billy Phillips.

ANNA CHILTON
Anna June Chilton, 92, died Tuesday, October 24, 2000 at Health and Living Community in Indianapolis.
Born July 25, 1908 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Francis McElbiney Reynolds. She was the widow of Boyce W. Chilton, formerly of Harrodsburg.
She was employed for 15 years by William H. Block, having retired in 1973.
She was a long time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and had been active in the Delta Sigma Sorority. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Survivors include: a son, Alan Chilton, Greenwood, IN; one daughter, Kay Constable, Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step sister.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, October 28, at the Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Road 135 Chapel. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

SHIRLEY HACKER
Shirley A. Hacker, 59, of Salvisa, died Saturday, October 28, 2000 at her residence.
Born in Cincinnati, OH, she was a daughter of Elise Wallin Abel of Lexington and the late Clifton Abel.
A member of Rosemont Baptist Church, she was a former bookkeeper for Kelley Dairies and a member of TOPS.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: her husband, Bobby Ray Hacker, Sr., Salvisa; two sons, Bobby Ray (Teri) Hacker, Jr., and Daniel Ray Hacker, both of Salvisa; one brother, Bill Abel, Lexington; one sister, Phyllis (Guy) Cappiccie, Lexington.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 1, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington, with Bro. Byron Jessup officiating. Burial was in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Jessamine County.
