Anthony Oscar Hill, 33, of Danville died Wednesdays December 23, 2009.
Born in Lexington, on January 17, 1976, he is a son of Oscar and Carolyn Goodlet Hill.
He was a construction worker and a graduate of Danville High School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by: two sons, Cameron Alan Hill and Anthony Dylan Hill, both of Danville; two sisters, Cindy Stephens of Nicholasville and Patricia Russell of Lexington; five brothers, Michael Hawkins of Danville, Grady Matt Hawkins of Nicholasville, Brady Ray Hawkins of Bladenburg, Ohio, Timmy Russell of Harrodsburg, and Billy Joe Russell of Nicholasville; and a special aunt, Debora ( Kal) Elayyan of Chicago, Ill..
The funeral service will be conducted at 12 noon Tuesday, December 29, at the Danville Church of God with Bro. Andy Turner officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Wilmore Cemetery.
Stith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
JAMES JACKSON
Dr. James A. Jackson Jr., UK animal science associate professor, died Monday December 28, 2009.
Born Jan. 17, 1950, in Hopkinsville, he was the son of Edith Jackson and the late James A. Jackson Sr.
Survivors include: his wife, Elda Gruner Jackson; four sons, Josh, Justin, Joey and Jerry Jackson; grandson, Isaiah Dumas; and four sisters, Susie Riley, Brenda Todd, Donna Bailey and Renee Moyd.
He was owner/operator of Dividing Ridge Farm.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 9, at the Salvisa Baptist Church.

PATRICIA MARTIN
Patricia Watlington Martin, 76, a retired college professor, widow of Jack Cornelius Martin, died Tuesday, December. 29 at her home in Salvisa.
Born in Hardinsburg, she was a daughter of the late John Russell and Claudine Peggs Watlington.
Pat was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and had earned a PhD from Yale University in 1964. A member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Versailles, she also attended St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church in Harrodsburg.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 2, at the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Versailles with Fr. Jay Pierce officiating. A reception will follow services at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John’s Episcopal Church in Versailles or to St. Philips Episcopal Church in Harrodsburg.

VIVIEN MCMURRY
June Vivien Scott McMurry, 89, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 in Louisville.
Born Feb. 8, 1920 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Anne Mitchell (Carter) Scott. She was a retired office manager and had held church memberships both in the Carrollton Christian and Harrodsburg Christian Church.
She is survived by: two sons, Gorden T. McMurry of Louisville and Gene McMurry of Carrollton; two half brothers, Ben Scott of Versailles and Clarence Scott of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gorden Felix McMurry; a half sister, Eudora Dygert and one grandson, Ken McMurry.
Funeral Services were conducted Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Greg Hood, Jimmy Music, Clarence Scott, Ben Scott, Ricky Allen, Carter, Jr and Barry McMurry.

BARBARA PARTIN
Barbara Ann Partin, 72, of Owens Hollow, died Dec. 23, 2009 at her home.
Born Dec. 8, 1937 in Cornishville, she was a daughter of the late Marion and Mable Bugg Britton
She was a homemaker and a member of the East Barbourville Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Grey Chapter #580 and was a past Worthy Matron. Together she and her husband owned and operated The Store.
Survivors include: her husband, Carl “Hob” Partin of Owens Hollow; two children, Pamela Kay (Jimmie) Devine of Springfield and Carlene Yates of Owens Hollow; four sisters, Doris June Britton, Sarah (Lawrence) Johnson and Donna (Wayne) Stratton, all of Harrodsburg and Nancy (Ron) Belcher of Danville; four brothers, Billy (Joyce) Britton, Archie (Betty) Britton, Jerry (Alice) Britton and Keith (Sheryl) Britton, all of Harrodsburg; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Dec. 27 in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home in Barbourville with Rev. James Vandy officiating. Burial followed in the Lynn Camp Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carmon Yates, John Carney, Quinn Burns, Brady Burns, Dave Wyatt, Wayne Stratton and Ron Belcher.

MARY PEACH
Mary Peach, 61, of Lawrenceburg died December 27, 2009.
Born March 21, 1948 in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late John Jeans and Ethel Lee Gibson Mitchell.
She worked as a nurse, as Director of Peach’s Preschool Learning Center and was a teacher’s assistant in the Anderson County School System for nearly 20 years.
Survivors include: her husband, Al peach; two sons, Mark (Julie) Peach and Tim Peach; four brothers; Nick (Charlotte) Folchi of Harrodsburg, John (Kris) Mitchell of Louisville, David (Adelaida) Mitchell of Bluffton, SC, Paul (Jackie) Mitchell, Jacksonville, IL; and a sister, Ruth Ann (Jason) Booth of Frankfort and two grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service was held Dec. 30 at Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Elgin Emmons and Rev. Mark Gibbons officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nick Folchi, John Mitchell, David Mitchell, Paul Mitchell, Alex Mitchell, Bryan Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, and Jason Mitchell.
Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army or Gideon’s International.

JACKIE SIMMONS SR.
Jackie Ray Simmons Sr. of Kings Mountain died Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Harrodsburg. He was 73.
Born on Jan. 12, 1936 in Vincenness, IN, he was a son of the late Rex Levie and Althea Hawkins Simmons.
He was a self-employed businessman and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include: his wife, Merida Derringer Simmons; four sons, Jack Simmons Jr., Allen Lee Fowler, Jeffrey Simmons and Michael Simmons; four daughters, Kathie Simmons, Elizabeth Pike, Jacqueline Strong and Jessica Patterson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Jerry Simmons.
McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty was in charge of arrangements.
PATRICIA YOUNG
Patricia Sue “Patsy” Robinson Young, 66, of Harrodsburg, died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.
She was the daughter of Martha Cottrell Robinson of Lawrenceburg, and the late Eugene Robinson. She was a graduate of Anderson County High School, and a retired Food Service Manager.
She is survived by husband, Walter Young; daughter, Kelli Chapman Ammones, both of Harrodsburg; sisters, Doris (Clarence) Goodpaster, of Harrodsburg, Betty Thompson, and Edith (Jimmy) Hanks, both of Lawrenceburg; brother, Larry (Ramona) Robinson, of Lawrenceburg; a sister-in-law, Melinda Daughterly of Louisville; two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her father she was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Robinson; a sister, Pam Robinson and a grandson, Brian Ross.
Funeral services were conducted Dec. 7 at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. John Hockersmith officiating. Burial was at Ebenezer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Smalley, Adam Browning, Clarence Goodpaster, Jimmy Hanks, Larry Robinson, and Kurt Meyer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
