Albert Meaux, 64, of 530 Ashley Drive, died Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born May 23, 1936 in Mayo, he was the son of the late Gus and Clarice Singleton Meaux.
He was a retired employee of Trim Master's Inc., had worked for Hallmack-Nutone and enjoyed farming.
He was an active member of Silver Cord Lodge #23 and a member of the Dividing Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Maitha Taylor Meaux, Harrodsburg; one son, Tommy Meaux, Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Sheila Meaux, Lexington, Vicki Meaux, Harrodsburg; one sister, Mae Thelma Parks, Harrodsburg; one brother, Alonzo Meaux, Harrodsburg; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Taylor Harris and Alma Burris Meaux, both of Harrodsburg and Clairene Taylor, Bowling Green; four brothers-in-law; Walter Taylor, William Harris and William H. Parks, all of Harrodsburg, and Timothy Taylor, Panama City, FL; two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 2, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Boris Carter officiating. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Members of Silver Cord Lodge #23 served as pallbearers.
SYLVIA BUTLER
Sylvia Elizabeth Butler, 70, of 116 Onstott Drive, Danville, died Friday December 1, 2000 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born January 16, 1930 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Ida Suthard Forsyth.
She had worked as a manager for Super 29 Drive-In for 30 years, was a member of Salt River Baptist Church, Boyle County Senior Citizens, and was a former Senior Companion.
Survivors include: one son, Charles Butler, Jr., Harrodsburg; one daughter, Tammy Graves, Front Royal, VA; two brothers, Richard Forsyth, Edinsburg, VA and Frank Forsyth, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one sister, Florence Ferree, Manassas Park, VA; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 4, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bob Bausum officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kevin Butler, John Wheeler, Josh Owens, Buddy Reecher, Don Keck and Joe Judkins.
Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Memorial Bible Fund or Boyle County Senior Citizens.
THOMAS VAUGHN Jr.
Thomas Lincoln Vaughn, Jr., age 64, of 737 Stoner Street, died Sunday, December 3, 2000 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born February 12, 1936 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Thomas Vaughn, Sr. and Lala Sue Bartleson Vaughn.
He was a maintenance supervisor for the Harrodsburg Housing Authority, attended West Side High School and was a member of the Centennial Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Ann Dean Vaughn, Harrodsburg; five sons, Thomas and Deron Jones, Josh, Craig and Chad Vaughn, all of Harrodsburg; four step sons, Sylvester Young, Louisville, James Ellery, Larry and Wayne Andrews, all of Harrodsburg; four daughters, Sabrina Richardson, Danville, Kim Jones, Indianapolis, Beverly Harrison and Gelonda Zipper, Lexington; one step daughter, Juanita Hays, Danville; three sisters, Ethel Lay and Bessie Lyons, both of Harrodsburg, and Mae Thomas, Lawrenceburg; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Zelma Yeast and Minnie Bottoms.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 6, at the Centennial Baptist Church with Rev. J. D. Short III officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Fred Bottoms, Willie Bottoms, James Bryant, Jerry Snow, Leon Steel and Benny Yeast.
Parks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
THEODORE NOWLIN
Theodore Earl Nowlin, 71, of 2361 Bohon Road, died Friday, December 1, 2000 at his residence.
Born April 6, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN, he was a son of the late Jerome and Marie Welch Nowlin.
He was a handyman and had attended the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include: five sons, Desi Nowlin, Leslie Nowlin, Glenn Nowlin, Steven Nowlin, all of Harrodsburg, and Michael Nowlin of Danville; four daughters, Debra Dearing, Alice Stratton and Kimberly Matherly, all of Harrodsburg, and Charlotte Deatherage, Burgin; one sister, Barbara Johnson, Indianapolis, IN; 25 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Cassidy and a brother, Robert Nowlin.
A family memorial service will be held at a later day.

JOSEPH MUDD
Joseph Sidney Mudd, 64, of 7685 Bardstown Road, Fredericktown, died Thursday, November 30, 2000 at the Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
Born September 30, 1936 in Washington County, he was a son of the late Everett and Mary Gertrude Cusick Mudd.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Rose Construction Co., Hidden Hollow Construction Co., and Haydon Brothers. He was a US Army veteran.
Survivors include: four sons, Joey Mudd, Versailles, Larry Mudd, Springfield, Jerry Mudd, Bardstown, and Parker Mudd, Louisville; two daughters, Melanie Ann Smith and Margaret Eller Taylor, both of Springfield; one brother, Arvie Mudd, Harrodsburg; six sisters, Juanita Reed and Frances Hamilton, both of Springfield, Josephine Adams, Louisville, Waseka Luckett and Mary Blandford, both of Bardstown, and Mary Alice Higdon, Lebanon; 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Rudd Mudd; two brothers, Forrest and Everett Mudd Jr.; and one sister, Betty Ann Barber.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 4, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fredericktown. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery with Rev. Chris Allegra officiating.
Pallbearers were Arvie Mudd, Ronnie Vault, Marvin Dotson, Nacho Rocha, Jimmy Mudd, Bev Wimsett, Jo Jo Ballard and Jimmy Hamilton. Honorary bearers were Wayne Medley, Dale Spaulding, Edwin Hamilton and Freddie Taylor.
Prayer services were held December 3 at the Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield.
JOHN WILLHITE
John Earl Willhite, 79, of 177 Old Carmen Road, Campbellsburg, died Monday, December 4, 2000 at the Tri-County Baptist Hospital in LaGrange.
Born December 12, 1920 in Henry County, he was the son of the late Earl and Ruth Ethington Willhite.
He was retired from the Kentucky State Reformatory, was a member of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church and past member of the Campbellsburg Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: his wife, Roberta Chapman Willhite, Campbellsburg; one son, Douglas Earl Willhite, Campbellsburg; one daughter, Patricia Springate, Harrodsburg; three sisters, Dorothy Williams, Princeton, Ann Brewer, Louisville and Sue Hargrove, Shelbyville; two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 6, at the Ransdell Funeral Home, Campbellsburg.
BOBBY COYLE
Bobby Maurice Coyle, 72, of Gravel Switch, died Monday, December 4, 2000 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born June 7, 1928 in Gravel Switch, he was the son of the late Helen Coyle Harmon.
He was a self employed farmer.
Survivors include: his wife, Evelyn Gibson Lester Coyle, Gravel Switch; two sons, Bruce and Andy Coyle, both of Perryville; two daughters, Eulaine Coyle and Tish Coyle Shupe, both of Lexington; one brother, Johnny Harmon, Springfield; two sisters, Mary Lou Graves and Robbie Masters, both of Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7, at the Wilder Funeral Home, Perryville, with Rev. Jimmy Owens and Rev. Tony Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Gray, Jeff Gray, Bertice Riley, Ersel Blevins, Addison Cocanougher and Monte Elliott.

ROBERT BAKER
Robert Lee Baker, 88, of Mooreland Avenue, formerly of Mackville, died Tuesday, December 5, 2000 at his residence.
A native of Washington County, he was born October 2, 1912, son of the late Andy and Grace Humes Baker. He was the widower of Naomi Byrd Baker.
He was a member of the Brush Grove Baptist Church at Willisburg and was a retired farmer.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. James (Mary Lois) Carney, Willisburg, Mrs. Wanda Mann, Louisville; three sons, Rudolph Baker, Lawrenceburg, Leroy Baker, Harrodsburg, Bobby Baker, Burgin; one brother, Orville Baker, Mt. Washington; four sisters, Mrs. Gilbert (Betty) Mitchell and Mrs. Nettie Cooksey, both of Louisville; Mrs. J. W. (Merty) Scott, Willisburg and Mrs. Quentin (Sue) Bishop, Springfield; 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Baker and Gilbert J. Baker.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 8, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home, Springfield, with Rev. Donnie Irvin and Rev. Arlis Luttrell officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Willisburg.
Pallbearers were John Cooley, Randy Sims, Tom Mann, Jonathan Mann, Ricky Baker, Chris Baker and Jeff Baker.
GWEN CARTER
Gwen Royalty Carter, 55, of 711 Moberly Road, died Wednesday, December 6, 2000 at her residence.
Born March 3, 1945 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Owsley Champion and Irene Baker Royalty.
She was formerly employed at Hitachi and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Tammy Carter (Robert) Sallee, Harrodsburg; one brother, G. B. "Boo" Royalty, Mercer County; three sisters, Etta Henderson, Harrodsburg, Janice Sharp, Garrard County, and Colleen Horn, Harrodsburg; two grandsons. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lynn "Bub" Carter, and a brother, Gerald Wayne Royalty.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 10, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. James Harley and Bro. Jerel Coffey officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

WILLIAM STEELE
William Roy Steele, 73, of 5352 Bohon Road, died Thursday, December 7, 2000 at his residence.
Born October 1, 1927 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Roy and Dora B. Gritton Steele.
He was a self-employed farmer, a member of the American Legion and a life member of Modern Woodmen of America. He served in the Army Air corps from 1945 to 1947.
Survivors include: his wife, Alma Steele, Harrodsburg; two sons, Terry and Brent Steele, both of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Judy McPherson, Harrodsburg; one brother, Bobby Steele, Harrodsburg; one sister, Mary Ann Royalty, Versailles; one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Steele.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 10, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack Guerin, John McDaniel and David Kelly officiating. Burial was in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites.
Pallbearers were Garvey Barnett, Kirtley Barnett, Lee Howard Releford, James E. Hawthorne, Michael Darland and Kenneth Sanders. Honorary bearers were Jerry Royalty, Charles Walker Sims, Billy Steele, Garnett Collier, Kenneth Benge, Charles Isham and Mike Robinson.

EARLE GRANT
Earl B. Grant, 71, of Harrodsburg, died Satur-day, December 2, 2000 in Boston, MA.
Born February 8, 1929 in Glenn NH, he was the son of the late William and Hattie Grant.
He graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1951 and served in the Korean War until 1953. He held several positions as a civil servant with the US government and retired in 1988.
He was an active member of Southside Christian Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Susan Grant, Harrodsburg; one son, George Grant, Salt Lake City, UT; one daughter, Sharon Moran, Mink Creek, ID; one brother, Merle Grant, Danville; one grandson. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ervin Grant and Edward Grant.
A memorial service was held at Southside Christian Church December 8.
