William Coleman Grigsby, 71, of 169 Castle Heights, died Saturday, December 23, 2000 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born January 17, 1929 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Charles and Grace Huffman Grigsby.
He worked as a maintenance tech for Cricketeer and for the City of Harrodsburg. He was a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School teacher.
He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Mercer Lodge #777 F&AM, Order of Eastern Star and Oleika Shrine Temple.
He served in the Army National Guard for 20 years, from 1948 to 1968.
Survivors include: his wife, Viatta Mae Durr Grigsby, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Dawn R. Grigsby, Harrodsburg; three sisters, Glenn Ellen Frederick, Flemingsburg, Dottie Vaught, Harrodsburg, Grace Logston, Harrodsburg; three brothers, Robert Grigsby, Harrodsburg, David Grigsby of OH, and Bud Grigsby of NC.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 27, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial with military rites was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Curtis Devine, Robert McFatridge, Joe Harlow, David Quinn, Garnett Fowler, Bill Cooper, Marvin Claunch, John Sparrow and Ed Robertson.
Memorials are suggested to the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
JAMES WOMACK
James Paul Womack, 72, of Stanford House, Stanford, died Saturday, December 23, 2000 at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
Born February 13, 1928 in Bremon, IN, he was the son of the late Filmore and Jenny Lee Pace Womack.
Survivors include: one brother, William Thomas Womack, Middletown; one sister, Winifred Louise Tucker, Middletown; several nieces and nephews, including Sherri (Jim) Williams of Harrodsburg.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 26, at the Evergreen Cemetery Normandy Chapel, Louisville, with Rev. E. H Roy officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Louisville.
There was no visitation.
Ransdell Funeral Chapel, Harrodsburg, was in charge of arrangements.
LEISHA BAKER
Leisha Faye Baker, 38, of 480 Irish Ridge Road, died Sunday, December 24, 2000 at her residence.
Born June 25, 1962 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Lula Mae Preston Lister.
She was a homemaker and attended Perryville Church of God.
She was also an avid fisherman and musician.
Survivors include: three sons, Rickey Lynn (Rhonda) Baker, Burgin, Jeffrey Allen Baker and Bradley Lee Baker, both of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Mrs. Charlie (Cynthia) Lawson, Harrodsburg; two brothers, Gerald Lister, Mercer County, Dennis Lister, Burgin; two sisters, Mrs. Junior (Sandy) Whitis, Harrodsburg, Mrs. Robert (Edie) Warner, Mercer County, four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marsha Baker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Buddy Turpin and Bro. Joe Smith officiating. Burial will be in Parksville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joey Turpin, Todd Collier, Jason Smith, Lee Lancaster, Scottie Bottoms, and Travis Robinson. Nephews will serve as honorary bearers.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
ROBERT CLOYD
Robert H. Cloyd, 66, of Englewood, OH, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Sunday, December 17, 2000.
Born February 6, 1936 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late James Earl and Ora Huff Cloyd.
He was a salesman for Liberal Markets for 20 years, a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a member of K of C Post 3754.
He was a US Army veteran.
Survivors include: his wife, Charlotte L. Thoma Cloyd; three daughters, Catherine (James) Ly, Butler Twp., OH; Amy Adams, Vandalia, OH, and Jeanne (Jeff) Batten of Englewood, OH; three sons, Christopher Cloyd, Dayton, OH, Andrew Cloyd, Columbus, OH and Douglas Cloyd, New Madison, OH; one sister, Ann (John) Biernacki, Huber Heights, OH; one brother, Buford (Eva Jane) Cloyd, Ft. Myers, FL; nine grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, December 21, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Englewood, with Rev. Todd O. Grogan officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, OH.
Contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.

EMILY BRADEN
Emily Braden, 94, of 304 Richmond Avenue, Nicholasville, died Monday, July 2, 2001 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born October 2, 1906 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Abe and Ara Comingo Adams.
She was a retired teacher and principal for Mercer area schools. She was a member of Nicholasville United Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a number of cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 4, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack Emerick officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Thomas Lynn, Logan Lynn, George Braden, Jackie Wells, Jerry Mobley and Robert Lear.
ROXIE DRISKELL
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home for Roxie Louise Driskell, with Bro. Jerry Dedman officiating.
She died June 17, 2001 in Inyokern, CA, age 59.
Friends may call from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
LEROY MILLS
Leroy Mills, 55, of 509 Keenon Road, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001.
Born April 3, 1946 in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of Elsie Sizemore Mills, Pineville, and the late Robert Mills.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, a farmer, and loved horses.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Mills, Harrodsburg; maternal grandmother, Fannie Sizemore, Pineville; one son, Leroy Andrew Jackson Mills, Mercer County; two daughters, Teresa (Ronnie) Lynn Mills Hall and Sonya Ranae Mills, both of Mercer County; three brothers, Charles Mills, SC, Denver Mills, Harrodsburg, Robert Mills, Barbourville; four sisters, Alice Meadows and Barbara Crawford, both of Corbin, Patricia Aquado, MT, and Priscilla Howell, SC; six grandchildren; one son-in-law, Joseph Humphrey. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Elbert Mills, and one brother, Daniel Mills.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Readnour officiating. Burial was in the Mills Family Cemetery.

LOUISE RICE
Louise Rice, 78, of Summerfield Manor Nursing Home, Louisville, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, June 28, 2001 at Caritas Medical Center in Louisville.
Born January 31, 1923 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Archie T. and Bertha Noland Woods.
She was a retired accountant for KPMG Peat Marwick and was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church in Louisville.
Survivors include one sister, Nancy Woods Hatfield, Lexington.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 3, at Spring Hill Cemetery with Melissa Head officiating.

ALFORD VANARSDALL
Alford Willard VanArsdall, 81, of 251 Palomino Drive, died Friday, June 29, 2001 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 12, 1920 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Alford and Delilah Vandivier Van-Arsdall.
He was a retired farmer and employee of the former Cudahy Cheese Plant.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and an army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Darnell VanArsdall, Harrodsburg; one son, Alford H. (Kathy) VanArsdall, Mercer County; three daughters, Trudy (Carroll) Montgomery, Rita (Gary) Herring, and Vickie (Ricky) Lester, all of Mercer County; two brothers, Paul and A. D. VanArsdall, both of Mercer County; two sisters, Isavena League and Viola Rose, both of Mercer County; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter VanArsdall, and a granddaughter, Debbie Ann Goodpaster.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 1, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Terry Montgomery, Johnny Montgomery, Michael Montgomery, Mark VanArsdall, David Herring and Tim Lester.
SANDRA BUGG
Sandra Jo Bugg, 56, of Kennesaw, GA, died Monday, July 9, 2001.
A native of Kentucky, she moved to Kennesaw, GA in 1968. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kennesaw First Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband Dannie Bugg, Kennesaw, GA; two daughters, Danette Mack, Kennesaw, GA, Denise Rickman, Powder Springs, GA; one sister, Norma Hendren, Lexington; six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonja Dawn Bugg.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Kennesaw First Baptist Church with Rev. David Huggins and Rev. Bob Noffsinger officiating. Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw was in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday in Spring Hill Cemetery.
