Claude Lester, 90, Mackville Road, died Monday, August 6, 2001 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born September 2, 1910 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Andrew and Sarah Mayes Lester.
He was a member of Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church where he belonged to the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class, was a farmer and a long time resident of the Rose Hill Community.
Survivors include: his wife, Prilia Hungate Lester, Harrodsburg; one son, Roger Lester, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Helen Claunch, Boyle County; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 8, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Don Reed and Rev. Larry Redding officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were J. W. Logue, Kermit Logue, Tom Nichols, Llewellin Peavler, Sam Devine, Ezra Tatum, Jr., and Eugene Mayes.

FLORA PITTMAN
Flora Singleton Pittman, 90, died Saturday, August 4, 2001 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born January 3, 1911 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Combs Singleton and Tera Demaree Singleton. She was the widow of Hobart Pittman.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include: one sister, Cora McCowan, Danville. Four brothers, Cleve, John L., Leslie, and George Singleton, and two sisters, Collie Patton and Clara Singleton, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 7, at the Parks Funeral Home with Bro. J. D. Short III, officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
RUTH VANDYKE
Ruth “Boots” Ison VanDyke, 69, of Totten Avenue, Lancaster, died Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at the Garrard County Memorial Hospital.
Born July 30, 1932 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Willie Lee Ison and Adella Humber Ison. She was the widow of Paul VanDyke.
She was a homemaker, member of the St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church and a member of the St. Paul Women’s Club.
Survivors include: three daughters, Penny (Davey) Logan, Midge (William) Ison, and Beatrice Perkins, all of Lancaster; four sons, Paul (Margaret) VanDyke, Curt Ison, Butch Ison, all of Lancaster, and Melvin (Liz) Ison of Harrodsburg; one brother, Anderson Ison, Lancaster; two brothers-in-law, Allen (Jackie) VanDyke, San Jose, CA, and Jean (Audrey) VanDyke, Seattle, WA; seven sisters-in-law, Jeanette Ison, Lancaster, Lilly Berry, Gloria Bowman, Dessie Brown, Mary Owens, Geneva Penman, Arnetta Bottoms, all of Harrodsburg.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 4, at St. Paul Predestinarian Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Bowman officiating. Burial was in Lancaster (Duncantown) Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cedric Leavell, Brunell West, Simon Norris, Cecil Dunn, James Franklin Warren and Taylor Leavel. Honorary bearers were William Hocker, Willie Mitchell, John Penman, Michael Logan and James Buford.
Ramsey Funeral Home, Lancaster, was in charge of arrangements.
RICKY VORIS
Ricky Allen Voris, 42, of 11460 Springfield Road in Perryville, died Monday, August 6, 2001 at his residence.
Born in Morocco April 20, 1959, he was the son of Mary Elizabeth Collier Voris of Harrodsburg and the late Stanley Edward Voris.
He was a self-employed finishing carpenter and a member of the Perryville United Methodist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Robin Hafley Voris, Perryville; one daughter, Alana Robinson, London; one son, Lee Voris, London; three brothers, Harvey and Dale Voris, both of Harrodsburg and Mike Voris, Lexington, one grandchild.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 8, at the Perryville United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Owens and Gerald Gaddis officiating.
Pallbearers were Zack and Josh Hafley, Drew Reynolds, Stephen and Joey Lester and Vance Webb. Honorary bearer was Danny Cooper.
Wilder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

CAMERON CASSRIEL
Cameron Weisenberger Cassriel, 37, of Orinda, CA, died Sunday, July 22, 2001 at her residence.
Born January 29, 1964 in Louisville, she was the daughter of Sara Davis Hellard, Versailles, and the late Richard G. Weisenberger.
She attended Williams College where she earned a BA in English and Wheelock college in Boston, where she earned a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education.
She co-founded Room for Children, a child development center in Boston, MA and was a member of the Orinda Junior Women’s Club.
She attended St. Stephens’s Episcopal Church in Orinda, CA.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: her husband, Steve Cassriel; one daughter, Haley; two sons, Henry and Will, all of Orinda, CA; her mother and step father, Sara and George Hellard, Versailles, one sister, Paige Weisenberger (Joe) McClellan, Houston, TX; one brother, Clay Weisenberger; her step-mother Phyllis L. Weisenberger, both of Mayfield.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Versailles.

LOUISE LISTER
Louise Ann King Lister, 76, of Pine Hill Drive, Danville, died Friday, August 10, 2001 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born March 9, 1925 in Parksville, she was a daughter of the late Virgil Lee and Viola Johnson King. She was the widow of Raymond Lister.
She was retired from Eastern State and Kentucky State hospitals, where she worked as a licensed practical nurse.
She was a member of Parksville Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Ray (Julie) Lister, Harrodsburg; one brother, Kenneth D. King, Harrodsburg; one sister, Patricia Reeves, Lexington; one grandchild and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Maxene Lister.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 13, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home in Danville. Burial was in the Parksville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kenny King, Kevin Montgomery, Scott Denson, David Denson, Steve Brown and Duane Lister.

HENRY LONG
Henry C. Long, 94, of Louisville, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, August 8, 2001 at his residence.
He was a production worker for General Electric and a member of the Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church.
He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Plum Masonic Lodge #862, Hiram Grand Council of Kentucky #70, and Eureka Chapter #101.
Survivors include: his wife, Ann Parrott Long, Louisville; one daughter, Barbara Hendren, Harrodsburg; two sisters, Mary Gaddis and Juanita Baxter; one brother, Bradley Long; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, 2001 at the Arch L. Heady and Son Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd., Louisville. Burial was in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.

WILLIAM McGINNIS
William Forrest McGinnis, 86, Perryville Road, died Monday, August 13, 2001 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born February 24, 1915 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Elmer and Matilda Semones McGinnis. He was the widower of Bernice McGinnis.
He was a farmer and a member of Bethel #1 Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include: one son, Bill McGinnis, Los Fresnos, TX and one grandson, Robert Allen McGinnis, TX; and a half brother, Ray McGinnis. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren and Daniel McGinnis and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 16, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. James Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Daughtery, Charlie McGinnis, Bobby Burchett, David Taylor and Bob VanArsdall.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 7:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

BEATRICE MOBLEY
Beatrice Bailey Mobley, 86, of Mayfair Village, Lexington, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Wednesday, August 8, 2001 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born October 9, 1914 in Harrodsburg, she was a daughter of the late Page and Pearl Leonard Bailey.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a former member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Cecil Mobley; two sons, Tony (Betty) Mobley, Bloomington, IN; Terry (Becky) Mobley, Lexington; one brother, Paul (Mildred) Bailey, Harrodsburg; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 11, at the W. R. Milward Mortuary-Southland, Lexington, with Dr. Criag Loscalzo officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg.
Pallbearers were Jack Bailey, Mike Butcher, Chris Mobley, Derek Mobley, Mary Beth Mobley and Steve Stone.

WILLIAM ZODY
William Thurman “Bill” Zody, 65, of 4111 Boones Grove Way, Jeffersontown, died Friday, August 10, 2001 at his residence.
Born January 6, 1936 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Hazel Keightley Zody, Jeffersontown, and the late Jack Montgomery Zody.
He was a retired accountant, a graduate of Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Mary Lou Lyons Zody, Jeffersontown; one daughter, Karen Zody Waiz, Louisville; two sons, Michael M. Zody, Sellersburg, IN and G. Mark Zody, Jeffersontown; seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 13, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bob Goettel, Ed Robertson, Gene Cocanougher, Michael Jacoby, Sam Woods and Doug VanDiver.
