Bonnie Sue Warren Brown Travers, 52, of 1718 Versailles Road, Lexington, died Sunday, July 28, 2002 at the home of her daughter in Lexington.
Born December 14, 1949 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of Geneva VanDyke Penman of Harrodsburg and the late William Davis Warren.
She attended Harrodsburg High School and was employed at Corning Glass Works for 17 years and was a member of the Centennial Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include: one son, Gary (Juanelle) Brown, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Elanda (Charles) Slappy, Terry Lynn Brown and Chaka Davina Travers, all of Lexington; four brothers, James Wheat, Syracuse, NY, William (Roberta) Warren, Danville, Doc Warren and Jeff Burnside, both of Lancaster; two sisters, Janice Stigall and Martha Buster, both of Harrodsburg; a special friend Ruben P. Mitchell of Lexington; 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, at the Centennial Baptist Church with Bro. J. D. Short III officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Buster, Mario Buster, Lamar Stigall, Mark Stigall, Ahntoan Warren and Julius Yeast.
Visitation from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church and from 8:30 a.m. until the hour of services.

ADA ALLENDER
Ada Rachel Walters Allender, 82, West Court Street, Burgin, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born April 15, 1920 in Whitley County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lettie Sutton Walters. She was the widow of Charles E. Allender.
She was a former employee of Sportleigh Hall, was a member of Burgin Christian Church, a novice photographer, gardener and was a retired farmer’s wife.
Survivors include: one son, Gary Wiley, a daughter, Glenda Blevins, and a brother, Delbert Walters, all of Danville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Kenny Speakes. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christian Wiley, Dane Wiley, John Morgan, David Moore and Jessica Crain.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 7:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
LUCILLE ANDERSON
Lucille Anderson, 87, of Shakertown Road, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at the James. B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 15, 1915 in Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Renaker and Minnie Stewart Florian Honican. She was the widow of Ernest Lee Anderson.
She was a homemaker, an avid fisherman and loved flowers and birds.
She was a member of Shawnee Run Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Scottie Lee (Connie) Anderson, Harrodsburg; two daughters, Mrs. Betty (William Clarence) Fain, Harrodsburg, and Connie Elaine Anderson, Nicholasville; two brothers, Arthur David Honican, Versailles, and Richard Burdett Honican, Perryville; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 3, at the Shawnee Run Baptist Church with Bro. Lester Tirey officiating. Burial was in Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mark McCray, Wil James, Jeff Anderson, Mike Anderson, Blake Doyle, Corey Carpenter, Wesley McCray, Chris Sepko, Mitch Doyle and Trey Coyle.

GLADYS BENTLEY
Gladys D. Fleming Bentley, 77, of 1020 Virginia Avenue, Anderson County, died Friday, August 2, 2002 at Heritage Hall Care Center in Lawrenceburg.
Born January 19, 1925 in Dorton, KY, she was the daughter of the late Creed Fleming and Isabelle Johnson Fleming. She was the widow of Oscar Bentley.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kimberly Bentley, Lawrenceburg, Ann (Jay) St. James, Webster, NY; seven sons, F. M. Maurice (Glenda) Bentley, Louisville, Terry (Gwen) Bentley, Virgie, Eddie (Joyce) Bentley, Randy (Rose) Bentley, and Rick (Helene) Bentley, all of Rochester, NY; Kerwin (Rita) Bentley, Harrodsburg and Michael Bentley, TX; two sisters, Joyce Newsome, Rochester, NY and June Anderson, Dorton; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 4, at the Ritchie-Peach-Todd Funeral Home with Hospice Chaplain David Hilton officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.

GEORGE BOTTOMS
George Bottoms, 101, of Harrodsburg Health Care Manor died Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at his residence.
Born March 29, 1901 in Cornishville, he was the son of the late Henry I. Bottoms and Mary Jane Yeast Bottoms.
He was a retired farmer and member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include: three nephews, Fred and Willie “Jack Rabbit” Bottoms, both of Harrodsburg, and R. C. Bottoms, Lexington; one niece, Mary Georgia Moore, Lexington, and a companion, Lucille Hayden, Harrodsburg.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 3, at the Centennial Baptist Church with Elder J. D. Short III officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Bryant, Andy Harris, Albert Mitchell, James R. Payne, Kendall Patton, Chris Short and Benny Yeast.

IMOGENE CRAWFORD
Imogene D. Crawford, 80, of 150 Fairlawn Drive, Columbus, OH, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Wetstone Care Center in Columbus.
Born August, 24, 1921 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Elmore and Gladys Crossfield Dean. She was the widow of William E. (Bill) Crawford.
She was a retired private duty nurse and a member of the Magnolia Street Christian Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Barbara R. Selby, Columbus, OH; three brothers, Lois “Baldy” Dean, Salvisa, Garnett Dean, Nicholasville, and Robert Dean, CA; seven sisters, Doris Reece, Janice Phillips and Maxine Taylor, all of Harrodsburg; Arlene Walkup and Joyce Sturgeon, both of Louisville, Rita Jo Cerrato, Alaclua, FL, and Bruce Lee Dunn, Lexington; one grandson, Will Selby, one granddaughter, Kathy Selby Garlen and four great grandchildren, Hagan, Hunter, Brittany and Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with John David Lane and Terry Morrison officiating. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Salvisa.

ANNA NOEL
Anna Pearl Noel, 91, of Warwick Road, died Thursday, August 1, 2002 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born September 22, 1910 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Henry C. and Laura Tyler Devine. She was the widow of Walter Lee Noel.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Benton Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Judy (Kenny) Powell, Harrodsburg; two sons, Buford (Betty) Noel and Bruce (Glenda) Noel, both of Harrodsburg; one brother, Jewell Devine, Harrodsburg; one sister, Madeline Collard, Louisville; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Cecil Devine, and two sisters, Josie Lou Kirkland and Ocie Kirkland.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 3, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Wesley and Greg Warren officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

CHRISTOPHER TEWMEY
Christopher Dewayne Tewmey, 17, of 258 High Street, died Sunday, August 4, 2002 at a house on Cornishville Street.
Born January 9, 1985 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Mike Tewmey and Lesha Chester Curtsinger.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: one brother, Michael Tewmey, Harrodsburg; one sister, Stephanie Nichole Tewmey, Harrodsburg; one sister-in-law, Amber Alford, Harrodsburg; paternal grandparents, James “Tip-Toe” and Flo Tewmey, Harrodsburg; maternal grandparents, David and Pat Miller, Harrodsburg, and maternal great-grandparents. J. B. and Lucille Chester, Danville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 7, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul Readnouer and Bro. Gary Bagwell officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

CHRISTOPHER TEWMEY
Local Teen’s Death Under Investigation
The weekend death of a 17-year-old Harrodsburg teenager is under investigation by the Harrodsburg Police Department.
Chris Tewmey was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m. Sunday be Deputy Coroner Scott Moseley. The teenager’s body was found at a friend’s residence on Cornishville street.
The cause of death is pending toxicology results from the Frankfort lab, said Mercer Coroner Sonny Ransdell. The report will reveal what was in Tewmey’s system at the time of his death.
Ransdell said the report will take several weeks the next few weeks. The report will establish the manner of death.
Tewmey is the son of Mike Tewmey and Lesha Chester Curtsinger.
EVERETT TRAINOR
Rev. Everett Lee Trainor, 94, of Cincinnati Pike, Georgetown, died Sunday, August 4, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital East in Lexington.
Born January 4, 1908 in Greencastle, IN, he was the son of the late Lee and Easie Patterson Trainor.
He had worked with W. T. Young and was a supervisor of frozen foods.
He was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church and was a retired Baptist minister of churches in IN and KY.
Survivors include: his wife, Nannie Elizabeth Watters Trainor, Georgetown; two sons, David “Sam” (Kathy) Trainor, Frankfort, and William “Bill” (Juanita) Trainor, Lexington; seven daughters, Mary Helen Noel, Ada Watts, Phyllis (Ronnie) Sallee and Ruth Trainor, all of Lexington, Nancy Trainor, Frances (Kenneth) Watts, and Delores (Roy) Wood, all of Georgetown; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lavina (Cotton) Gushi, and two sons, Irvin Lee and George Walter Trainor.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 6, at the Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor. Kenneth Watts, Rev. Wayne Brickner and Rev. George Dye officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stephen Huffman, Todd Huffman, Joey Gushi, Ricky Gushi, James E. Pigg, Ken Douglas Watts, Ryan Sallee, Kevin Wood and Brian Wood. Honorary bearers were Samuel Trainer, Jennifer Pigg and Dr. Timothy Scott.
