Rodolfo Angel Gutierrez Cortes, infant son of Francisco and Jessica Neal Cortes, Marimon Avenue, died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Survivors, in addition to his parents include: one sister, Alexia Cortes, Harrodsburg; maternal grandmother, Anna Neal Bays, Harrodsburg; paternal grandfather, Bardomiano Gutierrez Salaza, Harrodsburg; paternal grandmother, Reyna Cortes Reyes, Mexico; maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Neal, Salvisa; paternal great grandfather, Evaristo Cortes, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tommy Neal.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 27, at Spring Hill Cemetery with Brackey Willoughby officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
HOWARD CRADDOCK
Howard James Craddock, 70, of Riverside Drive, died Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born July 8, 1932 in Parkersburg, WV, he was the son of the late Earl Craddock and Mozelle Chappel Craddock Perkins.
He served in the US Army and US Air Force and was a retired shift captain for LaGrange where he worked for 20 years.
He was a member of the Methodist church in Nebo, was an avid reader of Louis L’Amour, a gun and coin collector and a bird lover.
Survivors include: his wife, Sarah Jane Craddock, Harrodsburg; two sons, William Edward Pierce and Howard James Craddock Jr., both of Harrodsburg; five brothers, George, Eugene, Allen, Douglas and James Perkins, all of Madisonville; four sisters, Pauline Boyd, St. Charles, Iva Foster, Erlington, Francis Marks and Dorothy Marks, both of Madisonville; one grandchild, Heather Craddock.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 9, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Readnour officiating. Burial was in the Cerulean Cemetery in Cadiz.
MARY FREEMAN
Mary Helen Freeman, 82, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday, August 10, 2002 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born October 7, 1919 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ivo and Pearl Berry Thompson. She was the widow of Dudley Freeman.
She was a retired regional secretary for Cudahy Company and was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
Survivors include: two sons, William D. “Bill” (Marlene) Freeman and Arthur L. “Art” (Laura) Freeman, both of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Doris Carey, Lexington; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Resurrection was held Tuesday, August 13, at the St. Andrew Catholic Church and a prayer service at Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Father Joseph Muench officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Will Freeman, Tim Ellis, Donnie Edwards, Freeman Edwards, Tommy Freeman and Gerald Freeman.

DONALD GASH
Donald Moore Gash, 83, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Lafayette Place in Lexington.
Born in Louisville, he was a son of the late Ernest M. and Verna Whitehouse Gash.
He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Owensboro, a member of Lexington Lodge #1 F&AM, and had served in the US Army Air Corps in World War II.
Survivors include: his wife, Adeline Phillips Gash, Lexington; two sons, Dr. Don M. (Sharon) Gash, Lexington, and James L. (Debra) Gash, Owenton; two brothers, Robert R. Gash, Little Rock, AR and Rev. Samuel C. Gash, Memphis, TN; one sister, Mrs. Paul (Louise) Devine, Harrodsburg; four grandchildren, Clelland Robert Gash, Sheryl McGill and Erin and Dylan Gash.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 9, at the W. R. Milward Mortuary-Southland, with Rev. Jerry Johns officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Don Marshall Gash, Clelland Robert Gash, Dylan Gash, Curtis McGill, Kenneth Kurtz and William Graves. Honorary bearers were James Lewis Gash, Robert R. Gash, Samuel C. Gash, Paul Devine and Robert Caswell.

MARTHA HARLOW
Martha Louise Harlow, 84, of 365 College Manor, died Saturday, August 10, 2002.
Born November 30, 1917 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jeanetta Hillard Sims. She was the widow of Vernice Edwin Harlow.
She was a retired Corning Inc. employee and was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Patsy Combs, Harrodsburg; two sisters, DeEtte Darland and Bernice Matherly, both of Harrodsburg; three grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 13, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harley Humfleet and Don Chase officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eddie Combs, Chip Combs, Brent Combs, Mike Matherly, Brad Matherly and Bennie Matherly. Honorary bearers were great grandsons, Zachary, Dylan and Tanner.

EULA LUZOVEC
Eula D. Powell Luzovec, 93, of Willard, WI, died July 1, 2002 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, WI.
Born January 2, 1909 in Jenkinsville, she was the daughter of Charles and Theresa Black Powell. She was the widow of Earnie Harlow and John Luzovec.
She was a graduate of Mackville High School and attended beauty school in Chicago. She, with her husband were co-owners of a grocery store in the late ‘30s and for several years owned a Chevrolet dealership in Greenwood, WI.
She retired in 1948 from American Motors after 18 years of employment.
She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church and the Rock Dam Rod and Gun Club. She enjoyed ceramics, bowling, bingo, playing cards, gardening and volunteer work.
Survivors include: a daughter, Jean (Glenn) Struss, Willard, WI; one son, Buddy (Nancy) Harlow, Milwaukee, WI; one sister, Madelyn McGlone, Harrodsburg; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah and Alene and three brothers, Julius, J. D. and Benny.
Funeral services were held July 5 at Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, WI, with Rev. David Sommerfield officiating. Burial was in Willisburg Cemetery near Willisburg, KY.
MATTIE POWELL
Mattie Mae Powell, 88, of Eminence Avenue, died Thursday, August 8, 2002 at her residence.
Born August 18, 1913 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late T. C. and Ida Mae Robinson Gaines. She was the widow of William Dunn Powell.
She was retired from the dietary department at Kentucky State Hospital, a member of the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church and was active in the Mercer County Senior Citizens.
Survivors include nieces and nephews and a special friend, Rita Johnson.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 11, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Owens officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were nephews.

MILDRED ANDERSON
Mildred Howard Anderson, 83, of 912 E. Lexington Street, died Sunday, August 18, 2002 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born August 6, 1919 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late John and Ella Carrico Mattingly. She was the widow of Fred Anderson Sr.
She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include: two daughters, Margaret (Jimmy) Currens and Alma Harmon, both of Harrodsburg; one son, Fred Anderson Jr., Harrodsburg; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by one son, Louis Robb Anderson;, four brothers, James, John “Jocko,” Onis Howard and Thomas Mattingly, and four sisters, Mary Richardson, Margaret Philips, Louise Taylor and Mae Anderson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 20 at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Harley officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Terry Currens, Keith Currens, Doug Anderson, Brent Harmon, Louis Anderson Jr. and Greg Anderson. Honorary bearers were Harlen Nowlin, Tom Elliott, Leonard Elliott, Mike Ellis, Bob Baughman, Dr. J. S. Baughman, Jeff Hildebrandt and great-grandsons.

BRUCE ABRAMS
Charles Bruce Abrams, 48, of Perry-ville Road, died Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born April 17, 1954 in Connersville, IN, he was the son of Zora Dunn Abrams of Harrodsburg and the late Charles Edgar Abrams.
He had served in the U. S. Navy and was a self-employed contractor.
He attended Battle Baptist Church in Washington County. He was an avid Nascar fan, enjoyed hunting, camping and restoring classic cars.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Denise Williams Abrams, Harrodsburg; two sons, Shane (Amy) Abrams and Matthew Scot Abrams, both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Sue Abrams, Harrodsburg; two brothers, Ronnie (Cindi) Abrams and David (Patricia) Abrams, both of Harrodsburg, and three grandchildren, Chayse, Ty and Hayleigh Abrams. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Ernest Abrams;, maternal grandparents, Raymond and Myrtle Miller, and paternal grandparents Cordell and Fannie Lakes.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Williams officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Daryl Catlett, Bobby Gray, Joe Johnson, Tommy Brummett, Tommy Barnett, Brad Gilven, Brandon Reed and Leslie Williams. Honorary bearers were Aaron Mobley, Tebbs Moore, N. B. Stratton, Jack Coleman and Mark Wilkerson.
GENE BUTLER
Gene Butler, 66, of Billy Horn Lane, died Thursday, August 15, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
He was a retired self-employed painting contractor.
Survivors include: his wife, Brenda Hendren Butler, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Chasity Butler, Harrodsburg; two brothers, William J. Butler, Perryville, and Warren Lee Butler, Harrodsburg, and two sisters, Shirley Gregory and Wanda Isham, both of Harrodsburg. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Butler Carter; two brothers, Allen and Durwood Butler, and two sisters, Virginia Robinson and Thelma Weldon.
Graveside services were held Saturday, August 17, at Burgin Memorial Gardens with John Anthony Kendall officiating. Pallbearers were Troy Isham, Keith Taylor and Wayne Taylor.

JACK CLARK
Jack Wilson Clark, 70, of 110 Amy Court, New Albany, IN died Monday, August 12, 2002 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.
Born July 7, 1932 in Winchester, he was the son of the late Claude W. and Leona Christman Clark.
He had worked as a metallurgical engineer for General Electric and Westinghouse.
Survivors include: his wife, Peggy Winston Clark, New Albany, IN; two sons, Douglas W. Clark, Chapel Hill, NC, and David M. Clark, Durham, NC; one daughter, Linda Clark Uhl, Memphis, IN; one sister, Anne Thacker, Mt. Washington, and seven grandchildren, Devon Clark, Rhiannon Clark, Bronwen Clark, Griffin Uhl, Natalie Uhl, Taylor Clark and Eryn Clark.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 17, at the Ransdell Funeral chapel with Rev. Jimmy Owens officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Albert Curd, William Glass, Gene Lawson, Howard Sallee, Ralph Ross and Billy Sallee.
