Blonetta Russell, 66, of 602 N. Main Street, died Friday, February 4, 2000 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born February 14, 1933 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Gladys Thompson Sims. She was the widow of Marvin Russell.
She was co-owner of Russell Painting Contractors, a former employee of Eaton Corporation and Stone Manor Restaurant, and a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Rex Russell, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Marilyn Tuggle, Harrodsburg; one brother, Eddie Sims, Willisburg; two sisters, Anna Hardin, Springfield, and Beulah Chesser, Washington County; five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 7, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Larry Redding officiating. Burial was in Deep Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steve Hardin, Glenn Hardin, Randy Sims, Troy Chesser, Terry McIlvoy, James Yaste and Tim McIlvoy.
BERLIN FRYMAN
Berlin Fryman, 80, 428 W. Pleasant St., Cynthiana, died Sunday February 6, 2000 at the Edgemont Manor Nursing and Convalescent Home.
He was born in Harrison County, a son of the late Goebel and Mamie Fryman.
He was a member of the Wagoner’s Chapel United Methodist Church, a retired meat cuter for A&P after 35 years of service, a volunteer fireman in Cynthiana for 38 years, and was an avid fisherman.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in Africa, Italy and Sicily.
Survivors include: his wife, of 51 years, Lorene Estes Fryman; two sons, John Michael (Bettina Jo) Fryman, Robert Allen (Margaret Ann) Fryman; one sister, Thaddues Brown, all of Cynthiana; one sister-in-law, Ruth Clark, Harrodsburg; three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Fryman.
Funeral services were Wednesday, February 9, at the Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, Cynthiana, with Rev. Jerry Watkins and Rev. Wayne Spivey officiating. Burial was in the Battle Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Allen Fryman, Michael Allen Fryman, Jerry Wallace Brown, Rick G. Fryman, Steve J. Fryman and Jeff Estes. Honorary bearers were Garnett Lucky, Ronnie Burden, Brian Dargavell, Gerald Turner, Jack Parker Estes, Jerry Price, Harold Eads and Kenny Young.
Memorials may be made to the Wagoner’s Chapel Church Cemetery Fund.
DAVID FREDERICK
David Frederick, 78, of 584 Graham Avenue, died Sunday, February 6, 2000 at the Lexington Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born January 19, 1922 in Christian County, he was the son of the late Clyde and Ruby Harris Frederick.
He retired after 40 years being self-employed in the plumbing and heating business.
He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II, a member of the Harrodsburg Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include: his wife of 55 years, Lois Taylor Frederick; one son, Brent Frederick, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Diane Shewmaker, China Grove, NC; three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 9, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Releford and Bro. Hilary Claypool officiating. Burial with Military Rites were held in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Hurst, Bill Pinkston, Ezra Tatum Jr., Paul Devine, Harold Montgomery and Garnett Fowler.

DANIEL KIDD
Daniel Lee (Dan) Kidd, 47, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Morehead and Harrodsburg, died Monday, January 24, 2000 at his residence.
Born August 19, 1952 in Lexington, he was the son of Ida Juanita Carter Kidd Crawford, of Morehead, and the late Claude Kidd.
He was former Executive Director of the Mercer County Chamber of Commerce, was a former administrative assistant with Harrodsburg First and was a former Heritage Tourism Coordinator for the Kentucky Department of Travel.
He was employed by the North Carolina Department of Tourism, a graduate of Rowan County High School and Morehead State University and received his masters degree from the University of Georgia.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his step father, Marlin Crawford, Morehead; one sister, Kathy Hinton, Morehead; maternal grandmother, Thelma Beair Carter, Morehead.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, January 30, at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tim Rhodes officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Joe Crawford, Anthony Williams, Greg Cole, Shawn Johnson, Willard Calvert Jr., Tom Calvert and Jim Engle.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12 at the Christ Church Cathedral, 166 Market Street, Lexington.
LUCILE FREELAND
Lucile Marie Freeland, 86, of 4311 Statton Rd., Louisville, died Sunday, February 6, 2000 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation, Danville.
Born July 22, 1913 in Dowagiac, MI, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Cleveland and Eva Henwood Paul.
She was a homemaker and a member of Meadowview Presbyterian Church, Louisville.
Survivors include: her husband, Norval O. Freeland, Louisville; one son, Thomas (Maribeth) Freeland, Harrodsburg; one sister, Marion Wicks, Dowagiac, MI; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. James Baughman officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Dowgiac, MI.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 10, at the Riverside Cemetery in Dowgiac, MI.

Douglas Laws Post #52, American Legion, Post #6935, VFW and DAV Post #54 conducted Military Rites for Phillip Eads at Kirkwood Cemetery on February 3, 2000.
Those attending were: Roy Freeman, Marion Mershon, Howard Howells, Henry Pulliam, James Carey, James L. Tewmey and Joe Harlow.
Zenah Teater served as bugler.
FINLEY CUNNINGHAM
Finley Cunningham, 97, of West Office Street, died Monday, January 31, 2000 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born March 12, 1902 in Salvisa, he was the son of the late James and Florence McAfee Cunningham.
He was a self-employed mechanic and the owner of Cunningham's Garage in Salvisa. He was a member of Craig Chapel AME Church and the Silver Cord Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Smith Cunningham, Harrodsburg; one son, Prof. Wayman Cunningham, Columbia, MD; one daughter, Florence Logan, Montclair, NJ; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi C. Thompson and a brother, James Cunningham.
Funeral services were Friday, February 4, at the St. Peters AME Church with Rev. Everhart Walker and Rev. Mary White officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Masonic brothers of Silver Cord Lodge.
Ransdell Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
QUENTON McMURRY
Quenton Taylor McMurry, 9 days old, of Clay Avenue, died Tuesday, February 8, 2000 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.
Born January 30, 2000 in Fayette County he was the infant son of Katrina Nicole McMurry.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: maternal grandmother, Pamela McMurry; god mother, Vicki McRay; two uncles, Raymond Medley and Thomas McRay; one aunt, Sandy Medley.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, February 9, at the Spring Hill Cemetery with Sam Stow officiating.

DOUGLAS CUNNINGHAM
Douglas Cunningham, 66, of 164 Freeman Lane, Salvisa, died Thursday, February 10, 2000 at the Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born January 1, 1934 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Helen Rea Cunningham.
He was self-employed and was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Perryville.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include: his wife, Leonora Cunningham, Salvisa; two sons, Roscoe (Vicky Merriman) Cunningham, Harrodsburg, George (LaDeanna) Cunningham, Liberty; one daughter, Terri (Mike) Ott, Lexington, Kimberly (Chris Bolner) Cunningham, Lexington; one brother, Harold (Floradell) Cunningham, Lawrenceburg; one sister, Stella Mae Bledsoe, Louisville; four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Bro. John Hockersmith III officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
MAY COURSEY
May E. Coursey, 85, of 363 Dry Branch Road, formerly of Chicopee, MA, died Saturday, February 12, 2000 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born May 29, 1914 in Middlebury, VT, she was the daughter of the late Rolla and Bertha Place Hallock.
She was a retired department supervisor at Forbes & Wallace Stores.
She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chicopee, MA and was the widow of Earl Richard "Dick" Coursey.
Survivors include: two daughters, Joan E. Evon, Chicopee, MA and Ann Tanhauser, Harrodsburg; one niece, Ruth Butler, Middlebury, VT; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard H. Coursey and a sister, Frances Pierce.
Funeral mass was held Tuesday, February 15, at St. Andrews Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Muench officiating. Burial was in St. Nicholas Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Norris (Chigger) Flynn, Hershel Votaw, Earl Moore, Bill Darland, Richard Tanhauser Jr., and Richard VanDonger Jr.

RANDOLPH HOLT
Randolph Bronston Holt, 80, of 429 North Main Street, died Sunday, February 13, 2000 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born July 17, 1919 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Silas Daniel and Molley Florence Harley Holt. He was the widower of Jennette Paige (Bailey) Holt.
He was a self-employed auto mechanic and a member of Bethel Baptist church.
Survivors include: one son, Bronston Holt, Boyle County; two brothers, Franklin and Kenneth Holt, both of Lawrenceburg; two sisters, Mable Stratton, Lawrenceburg, Janie Disponnette, Frankfort. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Madge Stratton and Mattie Peyton.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 16, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack Geurin and Don Wells officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Buford Disponnette, Robert Eugene Holt, William D. Stratton, Kenneth Stratton, Robert L. Holt, David L. Holt. Honorary bearers were Kenneth Benge, Wilson Pinkston, Tommy Pinkston, Wilbur Britton, Curtis Sherrow, Bobby Grider, Bobby Christerson, Ron Dailey and Jackie Griffey.
