Marie Terhune, 96, formerly of Belmont Circle, died Saturday, October 26, 2002 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
Born March 1, 1906 in Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and May Chumley Peavler. She was the widow of Warren Terhune.
She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was very active. She loved to bake and make candy, especially at Christmas.
Survivors include: one brother-in-law, Earl (Sue) Terhune, Harrodsburg; one half-brother, one half-sister and two nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 29, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Caldwell officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Willie B. Horn, J. L. Walker, Bob Richmond, Bob VanDiver, Cecil VanDiver, Garnett Ruble, Don Horn and Kenny Baker. Honorary bearers were members of the Sun Sunday School Class of Calvary Baptist Church.
JOANNE BAUGHMAN
Joanne Montgomery Baughman, 67, of Beaumont Avenue, died Monday, November 4, 2002 at her residence.
Born November 26, 1934 in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Rankin Eaton and Loraine Ransdell Montgomery.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Dr. John S. Baughman III, Harrodsburg; four sons, Tom Rankin Baughman, Robert Eaton Baughman and William Montgomery Baughman, all of Harrodsburg; and John Samuel Baughman IV, Williamsburg; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 8, at the Harrodsburg Christian Church with James Baughman officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nick Dedman, Chuck Dedman, Tom Dedman, Sean Brown, George “Bud” VanArsdall, W. L. Rouse Jr., John “Skeeter” Reed and Gary Houchin.
Visitation will be at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 7:30-11:00 a.m. Friday, and at the church from 12 noon until the time for service.
Memorials are suggested to Haggin Memorial Hospital.
SANDIDGE BODKIN
Sandidge Wilson Bodkin, of Versailles, formerly of 331 N. Greenville St., Harrodsburg, died Sunday, November 3, 2002 at her residence.
Born October 21, 1924 in Hart County, she was the daughter of the late Ed Wilson and Grace Wilson Bishop.
She was retired from Western Kentucky Gas Company and was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Eddie Bodkin, FL; one daughter, Judy Yeaste, Versailles; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, November 6, in Spring Hill Cemetery. There was no visitation.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Foundation.
WILLIAM CALDWELL
Rev. William Thomas Caldwell, age 88, of Louisville, died Monday, November 4, 2002, at Jewish Hospital.
Father Caldwell was a native of Lebanon, and was an ordained Catholic priest, having been ordained April 26,1944.
Father Caldwell's assignments included: St George, St. Denis, and Sacred Heart Churches, Louisville; St. Theresa at Andyville; St. Andrew, Harrodsburg; St. Lawrence, Lawrenceburg; St. Polycarp and St. Patrick's, Louisville; and St. Francis Xavier at Raywick, from where he retired.
Since his retirement, Father filled in at St. Augustine at Lebanon, and served the Carmelite Sisters in Louisville at their weekday masses for several years.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday November 8, at St. Augustine Church in Lebanon, with burial following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ratterman's, 3800 Bardstown Road; 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Carmelite Monastery, 1740 Newburg Road; and from 5:00-9:00 p.m.. Thursday at Bosley's, Lebanon.
Memorials may be made in memory of Father Caldwell to the Carmelite Monastery.
JERRY HALL
Jerry Thomas Hall, 57, of 304 Cypress Hills, died Thursday, October 31, 2002 at his residence.
Born October 30, 1945 in Lebanon, he was the son of Ona Lou Taylor Hall and the late James Clarence Hall.
He worked as a sales clerk in retail sales.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: one daughter, Tina H. Cocanougher, Harrodsburg; two brothers, James Hall, Harrodsburg, and George Hall, Nicholasville; two grandchildren, Lauren Marie and William Easton Cocanougher. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles K. and David R. Hall.
Funeral services were held, Sunday, November 3, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert DeFoor officiating. Burial was in the Peter Cemetery, Mackville.
Pallbearers were Billy Sanders, Junior Brummett, Jerry Bugg, Sean Baker, A. D. Peavler and Wayne Steel.
JAMES MOORE
James Harvey Moore, 93, of McAfee, died October 30, 2002.
Born August 14, 1909 in Pleasant Grove, Washington County, he was the son of the late George Washington and Ollie Shewmaker Moore.
He attended Mrs. Rue’s private grammar school, graduated from Harrodsburg High School in 1927 and attended the University of Kentucky. He was a member of the Block and Bridle Club in the School of Agriculture and an avid supporter of University of Kentucky football and basketball.
He was a tobacco farmer and cattleman, and owned and operated feedlots and farms in Mercer and Anderson counties.
He was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Vivian Smith Moore, Harrodsburg; one son, Tebbs (Martha Jane Phillips) Moore, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Marie (Dr. Guy Nelson Jr.) Copeland, and Dr. Dixie Moore, both of Lexington, and Jamie Moore VanArsdall, Anacortes, WA; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Condit Brewer VanArsdall IV.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 2, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Chase and Rev. Phil Williams officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Goodlett, Jim Paterson, Terry Greathouse, Don Horn, Miller Horn and C. M. Shewmaker.

JAMES MOORE
Man Fatally Injured In U. S. 127 S Accident
James H. Moore, 93, of 393 Hudson Road was fatally injured in an accident on U. S. 127 four miles north of Harrodsburg at 1 p.m. Oct. 30.
According to a report filed by Kentucky State Police, Moore was attempting to make a left turn from the northbound lane of U. S. 127 onto Hudson Road and failed to yield right-of-way to an oncoming freightliner truck driven by Vance D. Pinkston, 59, of 1680 Louisville Road.
The truck stuck Moore’s vehicle on the passenger side and both vehicles came to a final rest on the southbound shoulder of the road.
Moore was pronounced dead at the scene by Mercer County Coroner Sonny Ransdell. Ransdell said Moore sustained multiple injuries.
The Moore vehicle was totaled and there was severe damage to the front of the Pinkston truck.
Moore was not wearing a seat belt. Pinkston was wearing a seat belt.
Moore is survived by his wife, Vivian Smith Moore; a son, Tebbs Moore of Mercer County and three daughters, Marie Copeland and Dr. Dixie Moore, both of Lexington and Jamie Moore VanArsdall of Washington.
WILLIE PARHAM
Willie Mae Parham, 84, died Sunday, November 3, 2002 at Pickens County Medical Center, AL.
She was a member of Carrollton Baptist Church, the Garden Club and taught China Painting to many in the community. She worked for DCH for 29 years before retiring.
Survivors include: three grandsons, David (Teresa) Parham, Carrollton, formerly of Harrodsburg, Bobbie (Rena) Parham, Tuscaloosa, and Robbie Parham, Northport; two granddaughters, Teresa A. Parham, Danville, formerly of Harrodsburg, and Kim Parham, Northport; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Audie Freeman Parham and Clayton McDaniel, and one son, Jimmy David Parham Sr.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 6, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel, Reform, AL. Burial was in Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
GLADYS SEXTON
Gladys Pearl Sexton, 90, of Wildwood Road, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born June 16, 1912 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Winfield and Eliza Belle Freeman Nave. She was the widow of Fred L. Sexton.
She was a lifetime member of the Burgin Christian Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include: one son, Donald L. "Bud" Sexton Sr., Danville; one daughter, Wilma Jean (Leonard) Wills, Lancaster; five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 4, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Jeannette Lucas officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald Sexton Jr., Donald Sexton III, Brian Michael Sexton, Phillip Wills, David Wills, Robert Wills and Joseph Costanzo.

EDITH BOGIE
Edith Pearl Bogie, 95, of Frankfort, died Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at her residence.
Born in Cornishville she was the daughter of the late William H. and Retta Sallee Long. She
was the widow of Mark Bogie and Chester Lee Pevlor.
She was a retired seamstress and a retired employee of the General Shoe Corporation.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Frankfort.
Survivors include: one brother, Nooe G. Long, and one sister, Martha Yates, both of Harrodsburg; one son-in-law, John R. Johnson Jr., Granite Bay, CA; one stepson, Donald Bogie, Wetumpka, AL; one brother-in-law, Horace Hourigan, Harrodsburg; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lou Avah Johnson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 9, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jackson Brewer officiating. Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John R. Johnson Jr., John R. Johnson III, Nick Goodwin-Self, Larry Shearer, David E. Burch and Donald Bogie.
