Grace Carpenter, 85, Harrodsburg Road, Lawrenceburg, died Saturday, November 9, 2002. Born April 7, 1917 in Mooreland, she was the daughter of the late George and Jennie Hughes
Johnson. She was the widow of Pleas Carpenter.
She was a retired Rand McNally employee and was a Methodist.
Survivors include: one daughter: Barbara Limle, Frankfort; one sister: Aileen Vanover, Mooreland; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Ray Carpenter.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 11, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hammerick officiating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Seyberth, Ronnie Crabb, Matt Limle, Jerry Hoffield, Vincent Hanover, Mike Seyberth, Ben Seyberth and Kyle Seyberth.
JOYCE CURTSINGER
Joyce White Curtsinger, 64, of Willisburg, died Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at the Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home in Lebanon.
Born in Washington County, June 25, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Thomas "Tom" and Pauline Charley White.
She was a member of the Willisburg Christian Church and a graduate of Mackville High School.
Survivors include: one daughter, Debbie (Steve) Tyler, Harrodsburg; three sons, Danny (Clara) Curtsinger, and Richie (Stephanie) Curtsinger, both of Willisburg, and Waylon Curtsinger, Springfield; two brothers, Billy White, Willisburg, and Perry White, Mackville; three sisters, Louise Bland, Campbellsville, Mrs. Tom (Jean) Cundiff and Gaye Terrell, both of Springfield; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 9, at the Willisburg Baptist Church with Rev. J. W. Hatfield officiating. Burial was in Peter Cemetery at Mackville.
Pallbearers were Jody Curtsinger, Tommy Bland, David White, Mark Terrell, Tommy and Darnell White. Honorary bearers were Joe Terrell, Glen Lawson, Denny Lawson, Reid White, Austin Curtsinger and Kyle Curtsinger.
Carey and Son Funeral Home, Springfield, was in charge of arrangements.
JOHN GRIGGS
John Griggs, 71, Shakertown Road, died Sunday, November 10, 2002 at his residence.
Born December 8, 1930 in Morris, Illinois he was the son of the late George and Catherine Crick Griggs.
He was retired after thirty six years with the A. P. Green Refractories Company in Morris, Illinois and a former Red Wing employee. He was a member of Parksville Baptist Church and enjoyed old westerns.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley Cook Egbert Griggs, Harrodsburg; two daughters: Ann J. Petty, Mississippi and Patricia Marie Shannon, Norris, TN; two step-daughters, Angela Lynn Devine and Bonnie Jo Egbert, both of Mercer County; one step-son, Ronnie Joe Egbert, Mercer County; one sister, JoAnn Griggs, Tennessee; two grandchildren, and twelve step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Rhonda Monroe.
Funeral services will be at I p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2002 at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Tirey officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Church of Christ Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Shannon, Thomas Shannon, Ronnie Devine, Johnathan Devine, Kenny Devine and Andrew Devine.
Visitation will be after 12 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
CAROLE JENKINS
Carole Ann Baugh Jenkins, 57, Marimon Avenue, died Sunday, November 10, 2002 at her residence.
Born January 3, 1945 in Boyle County, she was the daughter of Viola Taylor Baugh, Harrodsburg, and the late Luther Baugh.
She was a homemaker and a member of Mayo Christian Church. She collected dolls and liked to read and travel.
Survivors include: her husband, Amos Jenkins, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Tracey Phillips and Amanda Kirkpatrick, Harrodsburg, and Melissa Williams, TX; two sons, Amos Jenkins Jr. and Michael Jenkins, both of Harrodsburg; three sisters, Ileen Jenkins and Linda Jenkins, both of Harrodsburg, and Charlotte Baker, Burgin; four brothers: Frankie Baugh, South Carolina; Ronald Baugh, Melvin Baugh and Paul Baugh, all of Harrodsburg; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Jeffery Jenkins and one sister, Martha Adams.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 13, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Perry officiating. Burial was in New Providence Cemetery in McAfee.
Pallbearers were Charles Jenkins Jr., John Jenkins, Mark Jenkins, James Watts, Jack Nelson and Bobby Baker. Honorary bearers were Eddie Burton, Roy Baugh and Mark Walker.
VIVIAN MOORE
Vivian Tebbs Smith Moore, 92, of McAfee, died Friday, November 8, 2002 at her residence in Harrodsburg.
Born December 14, 1909 in Cynthiana, she was the daughter of the late James Kiser Smith and Lena Tebbs Smith. She was the widow of James Harvey Moore.
She was a partner, office manager and bookkeeper in the cattle business and farms owned by she and her husband.
She was a member of the Jamestown Society, the Jane McAfee chapter of the DAR, the Harrodsburg Woman's Club and the Harrodsburg Historical Society.
She graduated from Paris High School in 1927 and the University of Kentucky in 1931. She was a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron National Honor Society in Family and Consumer Sciences and a life member of the UK College of Human Environmental Sciences Alumni Association.
She was a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church, where she had taught Sunday School, was active in the Sunday evening youth program and later in the quilting group.
She was also a life member of the Christian Church Homes of Kentucky, an active PTA and 4-H leader at McAfee School and helped establish the school hot lunch program and playground.
Survivors include: one son, Tebbs Shewmaker (Martha Jane Phillips) Moore, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Marie Moore (Dr. Guy Nelson Copeland Jr.) Copeland, and Dr. Dixie Moore, Lexington, and Jamie Moore VanArsdall, Anacortes, WA. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Kiser Smith and Dr. Hubbard Wright Smith and a grandchild, Condit Brewer VanArsdall IV.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Harrodsburg Christian Church Quilting Ladies, PO Box 96, Harrodsburg, KY 40330, the National Alzheimer's Association, 836 Euclid Avenue, Lexington, KY 40502, or the charity of one's choice.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 13, with Phil Williams and Don Chase officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gary Houchin, Joe Stevens, William Dedman, Jim Ingram, Ronnie Young and Don Billy Yates.
RALPH ROBINSON
Ralph W. Robinson, 92, of 702 Cloverdale Drive, died Saturday November 9, 2002 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born March 22, 1910 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Hezekiah (Tinker) and Emily Gritton Robinson. He was the widower of Matha Robinson.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
He was a World War II disabled veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of the DAV, VFW and the American Legion.
Survivors include: one sister, Alberta (Scottie) Royster, Beaver, WV; and one granddaughter, Cheryl Gilb, Rossmoyne, OH. He was preceded in death by a son, Garnett Robinson; one brother, Marshall Thomas Robinson, and three sisters, Beulah, Mattie and Lizzie Robinson.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 12, at the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with James Harley officiating. There was no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Ransdell Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
LARRY WARNER
Larry Steve Warner, 56, of 240 Palomino Drive, died Saturday, November 9, 2002 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born September 2, 1946 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Evelyn Casey Warner Gritton, Harrodsburg, and the late T. J. Warner.
He had worked as a registered nurse for Our Lady of Peace Hospital and attended Grapevine Christian Church for a number of years.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: one sister, Linda (Ronnie) Miller, Harrodsburg; special friends, Mary and Bob Miller, and Barbara, Louisville; two nieces, Sherri Gowins and Danetta Bailey, both of Mercer County.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 12, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Gary Story officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

MILITARY RITES
Douglas Laws Post #52, American Legion, Post #6935, VFW and DAV Post #54 conducted military rites for Ralph W. Robinson at Bethel Baptist Cemetery on November 12, 2002.
Those attending were Howard H. Howells, Joe Harlow, Lucian Landers, Tommy Denny, Donald Stumph, Gene Conley, Curtis Sherrow, Tom Rappleye, Preston Burgin, James Tewmey, J. L. Devine and Charles Stratton.
Zenah Teater III served as bugler.
TOM BARRINGTON
George Thomas “Tom” Barrington, 58, of Columbus, OH, died Friday, November 8, 2002 at Riverside Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
Born January 29, 1944 in Lima, OH, he was the son of Martha Elizabeth Barrington and the late George Barrington.
He was a graduate of Lima Senior High School and Ohio State University. He played for the Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints.
He was actively involved in Campus Crusade for Christ and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Survivors include: his wife, Judye Barrington; five children, Lydia, Matt, Joy, Jesse and Anna; one sister, Janet Mauk; two brothers, Steve and John Barrington; 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 12, at Grace Brethren Worship Center in Columbus, OH.

RICHARD BARTLEY
Richard Denton Bartley, 65, of 154 Herrington Woods, died Friday, November 15, 2002 at his residence.
Born February 7, 1937 in Pike County, he was the son of the late Perry and Edith Maynard Bartley.
He was the retired owner/operator of Pandora Marina, a member of Southside Christian Church and the Cleveland Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruby Jeanette Bartley, Harrodsburg; two sons, Richard Denton Bartley Jr., Harrodsburg, and Brian Bartley, Burgin; one daughter, Pamela Sue Watson, Harrodsburg; two brothers, Michael Bartley, FL, and David Bartley, TN; one sister, Virginia Roach, TN; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 17, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Sam Stow officiating. Burial was in the Burgin Memorial Garden.
Pallbearers were Joshua Bartley, Bill Southers, J. M. Barker, F. O. Ritchey, John Lewis Jr. and John Lewis Sr.
