Leroy Campbell, 76, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
He was born March 29, 1926 in Woodford County. He was the widower of Hazel Carr Campbell.
He was a retired self-employed truck driver.
Survivors include: two sons, Roy Campbell and Brian Campbell, both of Burgin; one daughter, Carolyn Brummett, Bowling Green; one brother, Bill Campbell, Georgetown; one sister, Martha Ann McMillen, Danville; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Campbell.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 19, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Hamby officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were J. T. Logue, James Hall, Jesse Layton, Frank Brummett, Christian Campbell and Lonnie Campbell.
BARBARA DAVIS
Barbara J. Davis, 71, of Winchester, IN, died Sunday, November 17, 2002.
Born January 29, 1931 in Randolph County, IN, she was the daughter of Gerald and Nina McNees Williams. She was the widow of Robert Davis.
She was a homemaker and Winchester City Court Clerk. She was a charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and a 50 year member of Winchester Order of Eastern Star #60.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kathy Davis-Brutchen, Winchester, IN, and Debbie (Phillip) Lake, Monroeville, IN; one son, Robert E. “Bob” (Kim) Davis, Harrodsburg; five grandchildren, Colby Davis, Will Davis, Debbie Davis-Brutchen, Katie Lake and Robert Lake. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kay Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, at Thornburg-Lightner Funeral Home, 2048 N. 1000 West, Parker City, IN, with Rev. Philip Lake officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Indiana State Police Youth Service Teddy Bear Program in care of Thornburg-Lightner Funeral Home.
Visitation on Wednesday, November 20, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
DELPHA TATE
Delpha Raley Tate, 75, of Perryville, died Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at her residence.
Born July 30, 1927 in Boyle County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mae Baugh Raley. She was the widow of Harold O. Tate Sr.
She was a retired assembly line worker at American Greetings in Danville. She was a member of the Perryville Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder, and was a lifetime member of VFW #3634 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include: four daughters, Patricia Chumbley, Harrodsburg, Shirley Hourigan, Gravel Switch, Nettie Elliott, TN and Darlene Shearer, Danville; one son, Harold Tate Jr., Danville; one sister, Joyce Phillips, Harrodsburg; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Britt Hourigan.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 15, at Wilder Funeral Home, Perryville. by Rev. Pat Chamberlin.

JERRI WIGGINS
Jerri Lynn Wiggins, 44, of Sycamore, IL, died Monday, November 4, 2002 at her residence.
Born October 10, 1958 in DeKalb, IL, she was the daughter of Jerry B. and Darlene Dean Wiggins.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include: three children, Collin, Ashlee and Taylor; two sisters, Cheryl Pisapia and Robin Price; maternal grandmother, Mirtie Dean, and several other relatives including an aunt, Sandra Russell of Harrodsburg.
Private family services were held Friday, November 8, at the Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, IL with Rev. Brad Reardon of the Evangelican Free Church officiating. Burial was in Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb, IL.
Pallbearers were Andy Rains, Jeremy Russell, Shane Russell, John Lutz, Jim Lutz and Ryan Wiggins.

JOSEPH BARNETT
Joseph W. Barnett, 81, of the Thomson-Hood Veteran Center in Wilmore, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Monday, November 18, 2002 at the Veterans Hospital.
A member of Willisburg Christian Church, he was a life member of the VFW and had served three years in the air force during World War II.
Survivors include: one sister, Mary Alice Holiday, Harrodsburg; one brother, John Carey, Lake Charles, LA; and seven nephews, including Jimmy Dennis Holiday of Harrodsburg.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
DONALD CARR
Donald Jarvis Carr, 90, of Harrodsburg, formerly of Lakewood, OH, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at the Ephraim McDowell Medical Center in Danville.
Born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England, he was the son of the late Samuel and Gertrude Carr. He was the widower of Jean Dewey Carr.
He graduated cum laude from Peddie in 1933 and from Yale in 1937. He became a naturalized citizen in 1940.
After several years with the American Red Cross as a field director and a supervisor, he settled in the Cleveland area and managed the shoe department at Bonwit Teller until his retirement. He was an avid golfer.
Survivors include: one brother, Geoffrey Carr; two daughters, Cynthia Carr, Harrodsburg, and Janet “Dale” Carr of Napa, CA; one son, Robert Carr, Albany, OH; three grandchildren, Jennie Wayland Devine, Trisha Rissmiller and Brad Wayland, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Carr.
His ashes will be interred next to his wife’s in a column barium at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Lakewood, OH.

JAMES CASE
James Donald Case, 93, of Lakeview Point, died Saturday, November 23, 2002 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born February 20, 1909 in Brooksville, he was the son of the late David Crockett and Hallie Parsons Case.
He was a retired public accountant with James D. Case and Associates in Maysville and retired after thirty years as a tobacco buyer with the Liggett Group.
He was a graduate of Brooksville High School and had attended the Miller Braugh Business School in Covington.
He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree and enjoyed gardening and fly fishing.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Slattey Case, Burgin; two sons, James Vincent Case, Elizabethtown, and John David Case, Mercer County; one daughter, Mary Don Bland, Elizabethtown, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandchild.
A Memorial Mass was held Monday, November 25, at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Muench officiating.

Jamie Lee Day, 25, Bailey Pike, Burgin, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002 in Boyle County.
Born July 15, 1977 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Carl Day of Danville and Dana Smith Perkins of Burgin.
He was an employee of Danville Marine Service, a 1995 graduate of Burgin High School where he had been a member of the Burgin Bulldogs basketball team.
He attended Lee College where he was a member of the basketball team and attended UK for two years. He enjoyed UK basketball, golf and was a Florida fan.
He was a member of Burgin Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include: his stepmother, Pam Day, Danville; his stepfather, Smith Perkins III, Burgin; maternal grandmother, Delores Hatfield, Burgin; paternal grandparents, Denver and Susie Day, Danville; maternal great-grandmothers, Eula Jackson, Corbin, and Naomi Ives, Louisville; two brothers, David Wayne Parks Jr., Burgin, and Cameron Day, Danville; one sister, Caitlin Day, Danville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Scottie Lee Day.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 23, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Tirey officiating. Burial was in Burgin Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Thacker, Nathan Bartley, Daniel Lucas, Steve Keisler, B. J. Case and Lee Qualls. Honorary bearers were Billy Crank, Travis Taylor, James Day, Joey Ray and Jeff Day.
JAMIE DAY
Man Dies In Accident
A Harrodsburg man, Jamie L. Day, 25, of 532 Bailey Pike was fatally injured in an accident on Gwinn Island Road in Boyle county at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19.
According to a report released by Kentucky State Police Trooper Troy Trayner, Day was traveling west when he apparently lost control of his vehicle and ran it off the left shoulder of the road. The passenger side of the vehicle struck a tree. Day was not wearing a seat belt.
Boyle County Coroner James Ramey said Day died instantly as a result of a severe head injury.
Day was the son of Dana Smith Perkins of Burgin and Carl Day of Danville and was employed at Danville Marine Service. He was a 1995 graduate of Burgin High School where he was a member of the Burgin Bulldogs basketball team.
CHARLES GOODLETT JR.
Charles T. Goodlett Jr., 73, of 2475 Talmage-Mayo Road, Salvisa, died Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.
Born April 28, 1929 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Cora Gritton Goodlett Sr.
He was a retired mason and grocer. He was a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church and served in the army during the Korean War.
Survivors include: his wife, Carol Lynn Simms Goodlett, Salvisa; one son, Kevin (Teri) Goodlett, Mercer County; three daughters, Tammy (Len) Goodpaster, Mercer County; Sherry (Don) Sever, Lexington, and Angelia Goodlett, Versailles; 10 brothers, Leon and Donald Goodlett, both of Nicholasville, John Alvin, Joe Martin, Tommy Lee, Jerry Wayne and James Preston Goodlett, all of Mercer County, Michael Ray Goodlett, Harrodsburg, and Cleo Goodlett, Barbourville; four sisters, Barbara Jean Blackburn, Linda Ann Mitchell and Elizabeth Goodlett, all of Louisville, and Brenda Joyce Drury, Bardstown; seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Lynn Goodlett.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 22, at the Kirkwood Baptist Church with Ray Coates and Jerel Coffey officiating. Burial with military rites was in the Kirkwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bobby Peyton, Bruce Goodlett, Rollin Cole, Jimmy Sexton, Donald Sexton, J. B. Claunch, Carl Hazelwood and Bobby Christerson. Honorary bearers were Ronnie Britton, Keith Morris, Craig Morris, Mike Ward, W. A. Miller, J. H. Whitenack, Garnett Morris, Robert Prather, Roger Dotson, Buddy Yeager, Bob Christiansen, Clinton Robinson and Garnett Ransdell.
