Walter Michael Siebert, 91, of 834 Berry Drive, died Sunday, January 12, 2003 at his residence.
He was a retired fire chief for the city of Paxton, IL, and a member of the Illinois Retired Fireman’s Association.
He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and an army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: his wife, Agnes Catherine Siebert, Harrodsburg; and one son, Robert Siebert, IL.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 15, at the St. Andrew Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Muench officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to St. Andrew Catholic Church Building Fund.

MILDRED WILEY
Mildred Wiley, 90, of Factory Street, died Monday, January 13, 2003 at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born September 8, 1912 in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late R. O. and Mary Murphy Trayner. She was the widow of Bond Wiley.
She was retired from Corning Glass Works, a member of the Harrodsburg Christian Church, a member of the Saints Alive Choir at Harrodsburg Baptist Church, the Harrodsburg Widow to Widow group and she enjoyed doing handy work.
Survivors include: her sister, Katherine Caton, Harrodsburg; two step grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Bill Wiley, four brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 15, at the Alexander and Royalty Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Snyder officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chris Caton, Nick Caton, Ray Caton, William Wiley Jr., Mike Haggard and Jack Robertson.

CHARLES COOK
Charles Cook, 71, of 721 Beaumont Avenue, died Sunday, January 19, 2003 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born November 5, 1931 in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Earnest Burden and Emma Frances Franklin Cook.
He was retired from Hallmack where he worked for 18 years and was co-owner of Jenkins and Cook Movers.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, an avid hunter, past president of Mercer County Coon Club and Mercer County Saddle Club.
Survivors include: his wife, Alma Josephine Cook, Harrodsburg; one sister, Lucille Barr, Shelbyville; and one sister-in-law, Geneva Cook, also of Shelbyville; five nieces, Judy Payten, Elizabethtown, Janet Bowman and Jatona Barr, both of Shelbyville, Debbie Bishop and Shirley Cox, both of Lawrenceburg; two nephews, William Cook, Shelbyville and Randall Barr, Mt. Eaden. He was preceded in death by two brothers, J. B. Cook and Barnie Cook, and one sister, Elizabeth Hill.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 22, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Harold Best and Barry Jeffries officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chris Cook, William Thomas Cook, Randall Barr, Tony Monroe, Garnett Ruble, John Paul Bailey, Eddie Browning, Chad Hill, Mike Abrams and Mitch Abrams.

HOWARD HEISS
Howard George Heiss, 89, died Monday, January 20, 2003 at his residence.
He was retired from Color and Supply Company Inc. and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in Australia and the jungles of New Guinea.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lexington.
Survivors include; his wife, Louise Heiss, Harrodsburg; three daughters, Beverly Heiss, Lexington; Shirley (Steve) Poppas, Winchester, Julie (Jeff) McQuinn, Harrodsburg; two grandsons, Christopher and Luke Heiss, Lexington. He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Heiss, and two sisters, Ruth Groenwold and Helen Deifel.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 22, at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Ron Luckey officiating. Burial was in the Lexington Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff McQuinn, Steve Poppas, Christopher Heiss, Gary Reynolds and Joseph Deifel.

ANNA HUDGINS
Anna Margaret Richie Hudgins, 69, Louisville Road, died Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born April 29, 1933 in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Lee and Mary Elizabeth Richie.
She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church.
Survivors include: one son, David Michael Hudgins, Junction City; one daughter, Theresa Marie Nowlin, Harrodsburg; one brother, Donald Glenn “Ducky” Richie, Harrison County; two sisters, Mona (Garnett) Lucky and Juanita (Billy) Martin, both of Harrison County; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Sarah Hudgins, Harrison County; three sisters-in-law, Eula Richie, Judy Richie and Phyllis Yarnell, all of Harrison County; two grandchildren, Thomas Eugene Nowlin and James Michael Nowlin.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 20, at Ware Funeral Home in Cynthiana with Rev. Richard Frazier officiating. Burial was in St. Edward Cemetery.
LEON STEELE Jr.
Leon Ison Steele, Jr., 68, of 942 Effie Road, Lexington, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, January 16, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born September 10, 1934 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Leon Ison Steele, Sr. and Georgia Briscoe Steele.
He was a member of Centennial Baptist Church, had attended West Side High School and was retired from the U. S. Air Force after 21 years of service.
He was a retired employee of IBM in Lexington and a member of Silver Cord Lodge #23 in Harrodsburg.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty White Steele, Lexington; one son, John Ison Steele, Lexington; five brothers, Ronald (Helen) Steele, Delaware, OH, Carl Walker, Columbus, OH, Glenn, Gary and Keith Walker, all of Harrodsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Rose (James) Bryant, Harrodsburg and Mrs. Peggy Shannon, Urbana, OH. He was preceded in death by a sister, Leonar M. Walker.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, January 20, at the Centennial Baptist Church with Elder J. D. Short III officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Fred Bottoms, Alvis Johnson, Gene Lawson, Woodrow Meaux, William Shannon and Bobby White. Honorary bearers were members of the Silver Cord Lodge #23.

MARY THOMPSON
Mary Lee “McClellan” Thompson, 80, of Evansville, IN, died Monday, January 20, 2003 at McCurdy Health Care Facility.
She had been a school teacher in CA and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Harrodsburg.
She was a member of the DAR.
Survivors include: one daughter, Donna Porter, Evansville, IN; one son, Wayne Thompson, Lexington; one sister, Georgeann Johnson, Auburn, CA; two randchilddren, Erin and Shannon Thompson, both of Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Thompson.
A memorial service will be held in Harrodsburg at a later date.

CHRISTINE WHEAT
Christine Allen Wheat, 92, of Stanford, died Monday, January 20, 2003 at Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born May 17, 1910 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late George William and Mary Emily Leeper Wilcher. She was the widow of Albert Wheat and Charlie Allen.
She was retired from Corning Glass and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include: five sons, Harold Allen, Earl (Peggy) Allen, and B. C. (Louvenia) Allen, all of Stanford, Johnny (Paulette) Allen and Garry (Ann) Allen, both of Danville; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Allen, one brother, Frank Smith, and one sister, Pauline Kennedy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23, at the New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Garry Allen officiating. Burial will be in the McKinney Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Garry Allen Jr., John, Kenneth, David, Greg, Dale and Jeff Allen. Honorary bearers will be grandchildren.

IRENE CARTER
Irene Rose Carter, 79, McDowell Place, Danville, died Sunday, January 26, 2003 at McDowell Place.
She was born March 21, 1923 in New Jersey to the late Frank and Rose Katona. She was the widow of Max D. Carter.
She was a homemaker, loved to play golf, enjoyed gardening and charitable work.
Survivors include: two sons, Dennis R. Carter, Bahrain, and Clark L. Carter, Danville; one brother, Frank Katona, Plansboro, NJ; one niece and one nephew.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date in New Plymouth, ID.
GARY CHAPIN
Gary Chapin, 58, Southmoor Park Drive, Lexington, formerly of Woodland, CA, died Saturday, January 25, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born November 3, 1944 in Lexington, he was the son of Stanley D. and Imelda Forsythe Chapin.
He was a former employee of Target, loved working on the computer, rock and roll, and enjoyed watching football games.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Leslie Camara, San Francisco, CA.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
