Born January 31, 1974 in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Walter Arbie Begley and Arbedella Susan Adams Begley.
She was a 1992 graduate of Lincoln County High School and an employee of Kentucky Fried Chicken in Danville.
Survivors include: her husband, Charles Cook, Lancaster; one son, Jonathon Christopher Cook, Danville; two brothers, William and Robert Begley, OH; two sisters, Barbara Elaine Johnson, OH, and Susan Elaine Johnson, Stanford.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 14, at the Fox Funeral Home in Stanford with Bro. Max Hester officiating. Burial was in the Maretburg Cemetery, Rockcastle County.
Pallbearers were Frankie Harris, Joe Wilson, Kenny Wilson, Dale Smith, Michael Naylor and Charles Ervin.
DAVID KENDRICK
David Kendrick, 61, of Kays Lane, Monticello, died Monday, May 12, 2003 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late Harry Kendrick and Alma Coffey Kendrick.
Survivors include: his wife, Dona Potts Kendrick; three sons, David (Pam) Kendrick Jr., Bobby (Nickie) Kendrick, and Brian Kendrick; two daughters, Wendy (Brian) Stuart, and Diana (Monte) Kelly, all of Harrodsburg; five brothers, Harry Kendrick, Shelbyville, Melvin Kendrick, Lexington, Bill Kendrick, Chicago, Ken Kendrick, Georgetown, and Steve Kendrick, Danville; four sisters, Shirley Bryant, Harrodsburg, Wanda Joseph, Raceland, Margie Zoeckler, Nicholasville, and Anna Baker, Harrodsburg; eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home in Monticello, with Bro. Paul Readnour officiating. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello.
Visitation after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
JOHN PULLIAM Jr.
John Lee Pulliam Jr., 43, of 397 New Dixville Road, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born October 6, 1959 in Mercer County, he was the son of Dorothy Norvell Pulliam and the late John Lee Pulliam.
He was the former minister of Community Church of God and owned and operated Pulliam’s Ornamental Iron.
Survivors include: his wife, Nelva Ona Jean Holland Pulliam; one son, John Paul Cody Pulliam; two daughters, Sara Mae Pulliam and Bridgett Gayle Pulliam; his mother, Dorothy Pulliam; grandmother, Mary Lou McCrystal, all of Mercer County; and one sister, Janice Pulliam Booth, Danville. He was preceded in death by a son, John Lee Pulliam III.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 10, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Edward “Buddy” Turpin and James Byrd officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Christopher Booth, Mathew Booth, Garl Booth, Joey Turpin, Marty Pulliam and David Norvell.
GEORGE RUSSELL
George O. Russell, 75, of Armory Hill, Springfield, died Friday, May 9, 2003 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center.
Born December 25, 1927 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Johnnie B. and Eula Frances Coyle Russell. He was the widower of Doris Gordon Russell.
He was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He was a retired electrician and an army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include: four brothers, Edward (Peggy) Russell, and Shelby (Virginia) Russell, both of Burgin; Orrie (Martha) Russell, Lebanon, and Lloyd (Charlotte) Russell, Springfield.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 11, at the Beech Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Wilson and Rev. John Watts officiating. Burial was in the Beech Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wesley Durham, John Russell, Lynn Russell, Jimmie Russell, Daryl Russell and Jason O’Bryan.
Carey and Son Funeral Home, Springfield, was in charge of arrangements.
GENEVA TERRELL
Geneva Hoskins Terrell, 86, of the Mt. Zion Community of Washington County, died Sunday, May 11, 2003 at the Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville.
Born April 14, 1917 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Addie Drury Hoskins. She was the widow of Morgan Terrell.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Chaplin Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Ralph Terrell, Willisburg; two daughters, Judy (Jack) Alcorn, Chaplin, and Nancy (Ray) Haseltine, Palm Coast, FL; two brothers, Garland Hoskins, Salvisa, and Cellon Hoskins, Lawrenceburg; four sisters, Velma Darnell and Tensie Drury, both of Lawrenceburg; Mrs. Stewart (Nellon) Catlett, Louisville, and Faye Stratton, Harrodsburg; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leva Hoskins and Normal Gal Hoskins, and two brothers, Clinton and Wilmer Hoskins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 14, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home, Springfield, with Rev. Chad Fugitt officiating. Burial was in High View Cemetery in Chaplin.
Pallbearers were Christopher Wells, Brent Baxter, Craig Beam, Bill Heidenreich, Elmer Diersing and Rudolph Terrell. Honorary bearers were Ronnie Drury, Jimmie Cooksey, Marcus Drury, Ray Hoskins and Lee Clark.
ELLA BOYLAN
Ella Boylan, 86, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, May 15, 2003 at Heritage Hall Health Care of Clintwood, VA.
Born April 13, 1917 in Pike County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Susan Stapleton. She was the widow of Luther Fields and Bud Boylan.
She was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and was retired from the City of Detroit library.
She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: two sisters, Della Speer, Clintwood, VA and Stella Puckett, Nicholasville; one stepson and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ted Stapleton, and one sister, Edna Anderson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 17, at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with minister Lynn Vanover officiating. Graveside services were held Sunday, May 18, at the Salt River Cemetery in Mercer County with Rick Snyder officiating.
Ransdell Funeral Chapel was in charge of local arrangements.
NORRIS CURRY
Norris Buell Curry, 80, of 784 Paradise Camp Road, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
Born August 15, 1922 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Buell J. and Jane Voorhies Curry.
He was an interior decorating contractor and a member of Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church, where he was a former elder. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and Oleika Shrine Temple for many years and was past president of the Blue Grass Lost Chord Club in Lexington.
He was an army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: his wife, Wilma Reynolds Cummins Curry, Harrodsburg; one son, Dennis (Susan) Curry, Bloomfield Hills, MI; one daughter, Nancy (Mike) Endejann, Cincinnati, OH; and one stepdaughter, Twana (Bill) Patrick, Harrodsburg.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens, Mount Healthy, OH, with Joe Tarry officiating.
Visitation will be at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.

SCOTT JACKSON
Scott Jackson, 88, of Pleasant Hill Drive, died Friday, May 16, 2003 at Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born November 7, 1914 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late James Henderson and Fannie Alford Jackson.
He was retired from Corning Glass and was a member of Junction City First Baptist Church.
He was an army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: his wife, Marie Egger Jackson, Harrodsburg; one daughter, Ingrid Coyle Shelbyville; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Clark Jackson.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 19, at the Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, Danville, with Rev. Ernest Martin and Rev. Gary Story officiating. Burial was in Bellevue Cemetery in Danville.
Pallbearers were Jeffrey Jackson, Marc Coyle, Skip Coyle, Mike Robinson, Cordell Bragg, Lee Welty and Brett Welty. Honorary bearers were Clyde Jackson, Tim McCoy, Barry Welty, Morris Stewart and deacons of First Baptist Church.

MORGAN LEWIS
Morgan Lewis, 71, of Ashley Camp Road, died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at St. Joseph Hospice Care.
Born February 18, 1932 in Clay County, he was the son of the late Harvey and Ella Powell Lewis. He was the widower of Hadgie Lewis.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include: three sons, Jerry Morgan Lewis, Dean (Michelle) Lewis, and Roger Lewis, all of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Gene (Mildred) Lewis and Gerald (Iva) Lewis, both of Stanford, and Herman (Joann) Lewis, Manchester; three grandchildren, Gary Wayne, Deana Michelle and Megan Leann Lewis, all of Harrodsburg.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 19, at the Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Lancaster, with Rev. Floyd Henry officiating. Burial was in the Lancaster Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Henry, Steve Stinnett, Isaac Colvin, Larry Stinnett, Rusty Stinnett, Tony Henry and Jimmy Henry.
