DRAKESBORO – Patricia Loraine Morris Knight, 65, died Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health Systems.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Nov. 16, 1940, she was a homemaker and member of Union Chapel General Baptist Church. She was treasurer of Union Chapel Cemetery Fund, member of the Ladies Aide and an assistant Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Albert Ray Knight, Feb. 1, 2005.
Survivors include two sons, Teddy Albert (Donna) Knight of Browder and Del (Debbie) Knight of Bremen; two daughters, Vicki (Ricky) Knight of Belton and Torey (William) Logsdon of Sacramento; nine grandchildren, Jason Knight, Tally Knight, Jesse Knight, Amber Knight, Carlee Knight, Brandy Knight Lanier, Targan Knight, Jarred Logsdon and Jake Piper and a great - grandson, Alex Scott Dennis.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. June 11 at Union Chapel Church in Drakesboro with the Rev. Kerry Vincent officiating. Burial followed at Union Chapel Cemetery in Drakesboro. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in the form of donation to the Union Chapel Cemetery Fund, Attn: Ricky Knight, 3560 Mud River Union Road, Belton, KY.

Emma J. Stacey

BEECH CREEK – Emma J. Stacey, 65, died Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Aug. 19, 1940, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Curtis of Vero Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Marie Underwood and Gene Underwood; four cousins, Pam Canady, Susie Gay, Diane Blais and Kathy Hamilton.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. June 12 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial followed at Mount Zion Cemetery in Butler County.

Dorothy Ann Reynolds Neeley

GREENVILLE – Dorothy Ann Reynolds Neeley, 78, died Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Belle Meade Nursing Facility following a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Jan. 16, 1928, she was the daughter of James Mann Reynolds and Anna Marie Dexter Reynolds. She was married to Charles Keith Neeley June 1, 1951. An active member of First Baptist Church for nearly 50 years, she was forced to give up her participation due to health problems. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and singing in the West Kentucky Chorale and Choir at her church. A volunteer at Muhlenberg Community Hospital for many years, she was preceded in death by her parents and her husband in 1992.
Survivors include a son, John Hill (Sarah) Neeley of Nashville; four daughters, Norma “Kitty” (Jerry) Tomes of Greenville, Anita C. (Bill) Pinkston of Paducah, Claire Marie Eison (Kip) Heineman of Yorktown, Ind. And Annie Laura (Tony) Perrino of Mooresville, N.C.; a sister, Jeanette Elder of Pikeville and eight grandchildren, Charles Neeley, Melissa Neeley, Lauren Eison, Cody Tomes, Will Pinkston, Katie Pinkston, Anthony Perrino and Luke Perrino.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. June 13 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Rob Gwaltney officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.

Marie Tillie Boggess Rager

Marie Tillie Boggess Rager, 97, died Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Feb. 2, 1909, she was the daughter of Charlie Boggess and Martha Williams Boggess. A housewife and homemaker, she was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar and a daughter, Margie Mayes.
Survivors include two sons, Edgar A. Rager of Redding, Calif. and Bill Rager of Cadiz; nine grandchildren; 20 great - grandchildren and several great - great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. June 14 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. June 13 and after 9 a.m. June 14.

Jerry Wayne Fields

Jerry Wayne Fields, 63, died Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, July 17, 1942. He was a retired truck driver for TVA and attended Nelson Creek Baptist Church and Nelson Creek Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Fields.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Wilson Fields; two sons, David (Misty) Fields and Ricky (Charlene) Fields, both of Central city; a daughter, Lorie (Josh) Lindsey of Powderly; two brothers, Jim Fields of Central City and Les (Betty) Fields of Bremen; three sisters, Jo Fields and Betty (Lowell) Johnson, both of Central City and Frances (Paul) Uzzle of Nelson Creek; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. June 13 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Uzzle, Jr. and the Rev. Donnie Wilkins officiating. Burial followed at Nelson Creek Cemetery in Nelson Creek.

Annie Lou Sims
GREENVILLE - Annie Lou Sims, 91, of Greenville, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Greenville.
Born June 21, 1911 in Muhlenberg County, she was a member of Bards Hill General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Sims; two sons, Billy Sims and Eugene Sims; and one daughter, Elizabeth Lee.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Vincent of Greenville; two sons, Darrell Sims of Graham and Truman Sims of Greenville; sixteen grandchildren; 34 great - grandchildren; and 23 great - great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 7, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Danny Mooneyham officiating. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy.

Texal Jeffrey Mabrey

Texal Jeffrey Mabrey, 54, of Central City, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at his sister’s home in Central City.
Born May 20, 1949 in Muhlenberg County, he was a laborer with TVA. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by three sisters, Shirley Rice and Gwyn Joines, both of Central City, and Brenda Kirk of Powderly; one brother, Tracy Mabrey of Central City; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 7 at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial followed in Jagoe Cemetery in Central City.

Hargis Turner

ELKTON - Hargis Turner, 75, of Elkton, died Wednesday, June 4, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, of natural causes.
Born Jan. 14, 1928 in Breathitt County, he was the son of the late Willie D. and Fannie Turner. He was the co - owner and co - operator of Hargis Turner and Sons Heating and Cooling since 1989 and was a member of the New Covenant Baptist Church in Louisville where he served as a deacon. He also attended Joines Chapel General Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam and Jessie Turner and one grandson, Michael Blake Turner.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Turner of Elkton; two sons, Larry Turner of Mt. Washington, Ky. and Ronnie Turner of Elkton; two daughters, Donnita Goebel of Clifty and Lisa Monroe of Elkton; two brothers, Tommy Turner of Elkton and Greenberry Turner of Clifty; three sisters, Hannie Bell Laster of Elkton, Mabel Ford and Katherine England of Louisville; and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 7, at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with the Rev. Jerry Sweeney officiating. Burial followed in Slaughters Cemetery.

Melvin Tyson

GRAHAM - Melvin Tyson, 81, of Graham died Wednesday, June 4, 2003 in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville following several weeks illness.
Born April 2, 1922 in Muhlenberg County, the son of the late Hosa Columbus Tyson and Betty Mae Brown Tyson, he was a retired security guard and a member of Corley Chapel General Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sisters, Rebecca Campbell and Margaret Groves, both of Graham; 25 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 7 Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Joe Groves officiating. Burial followed in Graham Hill Cemetery.

Ruth Mae Buchanan

GREENVILLE - Ruth Mae Buchanan, 63, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville following a lengthy illness.
Born Dec. 30, 1939 in Grand Rivers, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Luther Nickel and Arzetta Wilcox Nickel.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin D. Buchanan of Greenville; one son, Mark Buchanan of Greenville; two daughters, Delores Bastin of Morgantown, Ky. and Lynn Harris of Central City, Ky.; five grandchildren; and one brother, Kendall Nickel of Chesterton, Ind.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 8, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Autry Moore officiating. Burial followed in Mud River Union Cemetery.

Isaac Beauchamp Kirkpatrick

Isaac Beauchamp Kirkpatrick, 76, of Central City, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.
Born Sept. 12, 1926 in Logan County, he was retired as the owner and operator of Standard Oil Bulk Plant in 1977. He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Central City and he was also a former golf course superintendent at the Central City Country Club. He was a former eagle scout and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Kirkpatrick of Central City; one son, Tommy Kirkpatrick; five daughters, Mary Sue Withrow of Paducah, Cathy Robertson of Owensboro, Jane Smith of Central City, Barbara Brannon of Central City and Margaret Hammet of Marion, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; one brother, W. R. Kirkpatrick of Central City; and one sister, Sue Tom Andrews of Russellville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 8, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery in Central City. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Central City Youth Athletics Association or the Central City Library.

Brenda Kaye Whitney Deken

EVANSVILLE - Brenda Kaye Whitney Deken, 60, of Bowling Green, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
Brenda worked at General Electric in Owensboro, Partners’ Home Health Care and Symphony Home Health Care in Evansville. She enjoyed playing bingo and fishing. She was of the Catholic faith. She loved her family and friends, especially her three grandsons. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Lee Whitney in 1993 and her mother, Zula Mae King Whitney in 1998.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jerry Deken of Evansville; one daughter, Teresa (Thomas) Keown of Evansville; one son, Kenny Deken of Evansville; one sister, Judy Whitney Hope of Beech Creek; one brother, Ronnie Whitney of Beech Creek; and three grandchildren, Kasey, Austin and Zachary Keown.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 7, at Tucker Funeral Home in Beechmont. Burial followed in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Rex Alfred Spragues

GREENVILE - Rex Alfred Spragues, 78, of Greenville, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville following several weeks illness.
Born May 27, 1925 in Doniphan, Mo., he was the son of George Spragues and Maude Maples Spragues and came to Greenville in 1948. He graduated from Master Watchmaker and Engraver School and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Greenville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II and was a founding member of VFW Post #5478. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Spragues in 1993.
He is survived by one son, Larry W. Spragues of Auburn, Ill.; two daughters, Vickie Gray of Hammond, Ind. and Lisa Ann Hayward of Greenville; seven grandchildren; and one great - grandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 9, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with Dr. Ray England and Rev. Brad Hall officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.

Vernon Clay Smith

ST. CHARLES - Vernon Clay Smith, 87, of St. Charles, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.
Born June 6, 1916 in Hopkins County, he was the son of the late Albert Wesley and Lelia Josephine Sneed Smith. He was a member of Gilland Ridge General Baptist Church in St. Charles and an ordained deacon of the General Baptist Faith. He was a member of the UMWA, retiring from Island Creek Coal Company in 1978. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Retta Mae Alexander Smith; a daughter, Doris Josephine Smith; a sister, Justine Vandiver; and a brother, Ellis “Peck” Smith.
He is survived by three daughters, Yvonne (Kenneth) Fuller of St. Charles, Joanne (Paul) Fuller and Shirley (Donald) Egbert both of Earlington; two sons, Mike Smith of Princeton and Freddy Smith of St. Charles; two sisters, Roberta Franklin of Dawson Springs and Dorothy Franklin of Central City; 15 grandchildren; 28 great - grandchildren; six great - great - grandchildren; four step - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 9, at Reid - Walters Funeral Home in Earlington with the Rev. Joe Groves officiating. Burial followed in Lake Grove Cemetery in St. Charles.

Ruby Estelle Carter Genet

GREENVILLE - Ruby Estelle Carter Genet, 90, of Greenville died Monday, June 9, 2003, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born Aug. 5, 1912 in Ohio County, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenville. She was a former Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church, both in Greenville and in Pompano Beach, Fla. She was a homemaker and was active in her church and community as long as health allowed. She was an accomplished musician, playing the piano and organ. She was preceded in death by a son, Herman William Genet Jr.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Carter Genet of Murray and William Ronald Genet of Oneida, Ky.; two daughters, Bernice Cornette of Greenville and Ruby Barbara Hughes of Central City; two grandchildren, Teresa Stovall Dozer of Central City and John Kenneth Stovall of Greenville; one great - granddaughter, Laura Dozer, of Central City; one sister, Auretha (Norman) Bilbro of Owensboro and Leesburg, Fla.
Visitation will be from 1 ? 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, also at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. William R. Genet officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research or to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 145 South Main St., Greenville, KY 42345 or the charity of choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
