EVANSVILLE, IND. - Harold L. Jarvis, 71, died Sunday, April 24, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Graham Dec. 21, 1933, he was the son of the late Helen Rose Davis, he graduated from a Muhlenberg County High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War and also serving the Air National Guard. He was a member of the Pentecostal Prayer Center.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Peggy (Russ) Jarvis; two sons, Leslie Shane Jarvis of Haubstadt, Ind. and Timothy Jarvis of Evansville, Ind.; three brothers, Randy Davis, Chris Davis and Craig Davis; four grandchildren and three great - grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. April 27 at Browning Funeral Home with Pastor Eugene Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. Visitation will be from 3 - 8 p.m. April 26 at Browning Funeral Home.

Hazel Era Bruce Brothers
Hazel Era Bruce Brothers, 100, of Central City, died Monday, April 25, 2005 at Owensboro Mercy Health System.
Born in Muhlenberg County July 19, 1904, she was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Estil Brothers and two daughters, Anna Faye Stanfield and Lavon Roark.
Survivors include a son, Vernon Brothers of Central City; two daughters, Maxine Cox of Clarksville, Tenn. and Gynon Huddleston of Central City; 17 grandchildren; several great - grandchildren; several great - great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. April 27 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Abbott and the Rev. Steve Hogard officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Bremen. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. April 26 at Tucker Funeral Home.
William Ray Revlett
DRAKESBORO – William Ray Revlett, 62, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Feb. 17, 1944, he was disabled and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include several aunts and uncles, including Cola and Doug Thomason, Leon and Shirley Thomason, Elvie and Betty Revlett , Jr. and Mary Revlett and several cousins.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. April 17 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. T.H. Davis officiating. Burial followed at Forest Grove Cemetery in Drakesboro.
Raiford Wesley Gann, Sr.
GREENVILLE – Raiford Wesley Gann Sr., 73, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at V.A. Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Born in Coweta County, Ga., June 28, 1932, he was a member and pastor of Cherry Grove Church of Christ in Weir. He also pastured at churches in Ohio, Ga., Fla. and Ky. and served as a marriage counselor and substance abuse counselor in Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Sue Gann; a son, Joseph Wilson of Beechmont; a daughter, Janice Hensley of Albany, Ga.; two sisters, Cora Addison and Rosa Lee Powell, both of Newnan, Ga. and six grandchildren, Jeremy Love, Jonathan Love, Brandon Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Adrienne Gann and Emily Gann.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 15 at the Gordon Road Church of Christ in Moreland, Ga. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Ruth Lavelle Rhoades
BREMEN – Ruth Lavelle Rhoades, 91, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County, May 12, 1914, she was head cook at Bremen School and assistant clerk at the Bremen Post Office. Preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Rhoades, she was a homemaker and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn (Harold) Stewart of Bremen; three grandchildren, Teresa Ford, Rick (Barbara) Stewart and Byron (Davida) Stewart and eight great grandchildren, Christy Ford, Amanda Summers, Dwayne Noffsinger, Christopher Noffsinger, Patrick Noffsinger, Travis Winebarger, Jeffrey Winebarger and Hannah Winebarger.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 14 at Tucker Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Rearden and the Rev. J.W. Haire officiating. Burial followed at Bethlehem Cemetery in Bremen.
Gary Thomas O’Brien
ROCKPORT, KY – Gary Thomas O’Brien, 33, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Sept. 23, 1972, he was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his parents, Harold and Kathy O’Brien of Rockport; a sister, Sherri Schwan of Wisconsin; a niece, Rebecca Page and a nephew, Jonathan Case O’Brien.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. April 14 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Reba C. Manaway
OWENSBORO – Reba C. Manaway, 76, died Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Born in Muhlenberg County, to the late James Allen and Fannie Lee Brown Willis, she was retired from the General Electric Co. after 38 years in the Design and Engineering Lab. A member of First Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans, she loved people and enjoyed helping them out in their time of need. Residing at the Continental Country Club in Wildwood, Fla. for a number of years, she enjoyed Nascar and U.K. basketball. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh G. Manaway in 1985 and a son, Allen Cameron in 2006.
Survivors include a son, Bill (Ruth) Cameron of Owensboro; daughter - in - law, Shirley Cameron of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Coy Allen Cameron of Texas and Stephanie (Terry) Sadlowski of St. Charles, Ill.; two step grandchildren, Jeremy Young of Lexington and Elaine (Doran) Metzger of Elizabethtown; two great grandchildren, Jeremy Cameron of Vincennes, Ind. and Monica (Nathan) Payne of Owensboro; several brothers and sisters - in - law which include Jerry and Janice Manaway of Owensboro, Dorothy and Bob Gonzales of Wildwood, Fla., Louise Crews of Merimee, Fla. and Bob Horn of Las Vegas, Nev.

Eddie Lynn Cary
GREENVILLE – Eddie Lynn Cary, 63, died Monday, April 10, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Oct. 30, 1942 to Carl Clifton and Carrie Elizabeth Walker Cary, he lived his entire life in Muhlenberg County and served in the United States Army as a Specialist 4th Class from 1961 - 1964 and spent a year and a half stationed in Munich, Germany. He worked for Peabody Coal Co. for 25 years as a heavy equipment operator and mine foreman. Later, he worked at Reed Mineral Inc., E.A. Cohen and Son’s General Store and for the Muhlenberg County Fiscal Court as Maintenance Coordinator. A member and Sunday School teacher at the Roland Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, he was a member of the Gideon’s International Organization and member of Pond River Lodge #244.
Eddie is loved and will be sadly missed by his wife of 43 years, Sona Fay (Jessup) Cary of Greenville; a son, Steven Edward Cary of Greenville; a daughter, Sarah Lynn Cary of Greenville; parents, Carl and Elizabeth Cary of Greenville; a brother, Don (Beverly) Cary of Central City; a nephew, Chris (Laura) Cary of Owensboro; a close cousin, James L. Dukes of Greenville and an abundant amount of loving and caring co - workers, friends and acquaintances.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. April 14 at the Roland Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Mooneyhan and the Rev. Carl Nelson officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Eugene Aubrey Lile
CLARKSVILLE, TENN. – Eugene Aubrey Lile, 91, died Monday, April 10, 2006 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville following a brief illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Nov. 22, 1914, he was the son of George Willard Lile and Etha Marie Cary Lile. A Veteran of World War II and member of the Pond River Masonic Lodge #244 F. & A.M. for the past 65 years, he was a Kentucky Colonel. He was associated with the Barnes Automobile Company in Greenville for many years, and after World War II he was associated with dealerships in Greenville and Columbia, Tenn. Later associated with Summers and Jenkins Auto Company then Jenkins and Wynne Company, he was a member of the Madison Street United Methodist Church in Clarksville and member of the Antique Automobile Club of America. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Jean Crowder Lile in 1994.
Survivors include a companion, Carmen Taylor of Greenville; a daughter, Norma Cary Prestwood of Clarksville; a granddaughter, Laura (James) Clark Briggs of Antioch, Tenn.; two great grandchildren, Tyler Clark and Emily Briggs and a sister - in - law, Mary Marjorie Foster of Kingsport, Tenn.
Funeral services were held April 14 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Perdue officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
Robert L. (Bob) Summers
Robert L. (Bob) Summers, 76, died Friday, April 14, 2006 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville following a brief illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Oct. 15, 1929, he lived in Louisville for many years. A 1947 graduate of Greenville High School, he held numerous positions in secondary education. The Executive Director of the Kentucky Education Association for many years, he retired from the Kentucky State Board of Proprietary Education. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Payne Summers in 2004.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Summers of Louisville; a son, Scott (Melanie) Summers of Fayetteville, Ark. and three grandchildren of Fayetteville, Ark.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. April 17 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. George Thompson officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
Ed Oldham
GRAHAM - Ed Oldham, 96, of Graham, died Monday, April 7, 2003 in the Belle Meade Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Born Jan. 27, 1907 in Hopkins County, the son of Jessie Cleveland Oldham and Susan Cordelia McKnight Oldham, he worked 33 years for the W. G. Duncan Coal Company as a U.M.W.A. coal miner. He was a member of Corley Chapel General Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Arnett Oldham in 1994.
He is survived by one daughter, Joyce Dell Browning of Central City; two granddaughters, Lana Ford of Graham and Shelia Beck of Greenville; four great - grandchildren, Andrew Ford, Kristina Binkley, Brandi Binkley and David Josh Binkley; two great - great - grandchildren; one brother, Archie Oldham of Graham; and one sister, Mary Lois Reed of Cordyon, Ind.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 9, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with the Revs. John Culbertson and David Youngblood officiating. Burial followed in Corley Chapel Cemetery in Graham. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Glenda Faye Sutton
SACRAMENTO - Glenda Faye Sutton, 67, of Sacramento, died Saturday, April 12, 2003 at her residence.
Born April 10, 1936 in Hopkins County, she was a homemaker. She was preceeded in death by one son, Rodney Earl Sutton.
She is survived by her husband, Earl C. Sutton of Sacramento; one son, Timothy Earl Sutton of Hollywood, Fla.; one daughter, Debra Lynn Craven of Sacramento; three grandchildren, Lucas Earl Sutton, Steven Micah Craven and Rebecca Faye Craven, all of Sacramento; one brother, Bobby Pierce of Island; and one sister, Barbara Bentley of Fontana, Calif.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 15, at Powers Chapel General Baptist church with the Revs. J. W. Haire and Danny Greene officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery in Bremen. Tucker Funeral Home, Sacramento Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
Carrie Mae Dukes
GREENVILLE - Carrie Mae Dukes, 80, of Greenville, died Thursday, April 10, 2003 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 20, 1922 in Graham, the daughter of Edgar Jackson Lyons and Essie Faylena Jessup Lyons, she was a member of Sharon General Baptist Church and was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Ray Dukes and Roger Dale Dukes.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Delbert Dukes of Greenville; three sons, Eddie Wayne Dukes of Imperial, Mo., Jackie Ray Dukes of Greenville and Larry William Dukes of Pacific, Mo.; one daughter, Carolyn Faye Roberds of High Ridge, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, three great - grandchildren; four brothers, J. E. Lyons of Chincoteague, Va., Billy Lyons, Bobby Lyons and David Lyons, all of Greenville.

GREENVILLE - Gladys Elizabeth Hudson, 79, of Greenville, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born Jan. 1, 1924 in Muhlenberg County, she was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was retired from the American Tobacco Company.
She is survived by one son, David Hudson of Greenville; four grandchildren, Sheila Carver, Crystal Green, Kimberly Hudson and Jamie Hudson; five great - grandchildren; one brother, Presley Randolph of Sacramento; three sisters, Dorothy Newson of Bremen, Martha Easler of Greenville and Lou Peutzero of Newburg, Ind.

GREENVILLE - Ruth Etta Shelton, 45, of Greenville, died Thursday, April 10, 2003 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital Emergency Room after a short illness.
Born Aug. 23, 1957 in San Diego, Calif., the daughter of Venable Clark and Carol Jean Raymond Clark, she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Clark.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Larry Shelton of Greenville; mother, Carol Raymond of Russellville, Ohio; six daughters, Tina Meece and Mable Meece, both of Greenville, Teresa Cannon, Stacie Shelton, Angela Shelton, and Patricia Shelton, all of Elkton; five sons, George Meece of Worthville, Ky., Scott Shelton of Allegre, Larry K. Paul A. Richey
MADISONVILLE - Paul A. Richey, 89, of Madisonville, formerly of Central City, died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Born Feb. 9, 1914 in Muhlenberg County, he was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. He had been a coal miner and had worked at Island Creek Mine. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Richey and one son, Donval Richey.
He is survived by three sons, Sam Richey of Spurgeon, Ind., Dwight Bob Richey of Rangers Landing, Ky., and Tom Richey of Poole, Ky.; one daughter, Janice Gates of Butner, N.C.; and one step-daughter, Betty Daugherty of Madisonville; 11 grandchildren, 15 great - grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two brothers, Denzil Richey of Texas and Gaithel Richey of Central City.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 14, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Doug Anderson officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
