Graveside funeral services were held at noon, April 7, 2004, at Carter Creek Church Cemetery with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Dorris “Douger” Dossett
ALLEGRE Dorris “Douger” Dossett, 66, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville following a brief illness.
Born in Todd County, March 5, 1938, the son of the late Hugh and Jesse Marie Phipps Dossett, he was a farmer and a member of Bellview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Shanklin Dossett; four sons, David Dossett of Sharon Grove, Buck Dossett of Elkton, Greg Dossett of Russellville and Jason Dossett of Allegre; a daughter, Lisa Gant of Allegre; three brothers, William Hugh “Monkey” Dossett of Sharon Grove, James Darrell “Rooster” Dossett of Allegre and Michael Gregory Dossett of Crofton; five sisters, Dorothy Saypack of Hopkinsville, Pearline McGill of Nashville, Tenn., Connie Keeling and Diane Pipkins, both of Elkton, and Dale Cardwell of Morgantown; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., April 10 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with the Rev. Ron Noffsinger and the Rev. Tommy Wilhite officiating. Burial followed in McColpin Cemetery in Allegre.

Danny Ray Hurt
CLAYMOUR Danny Ray Hurt, 52, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at St. Thomas Hospital of a brief illness.
Born in Christian County, May 23, 1951, the son of Opal Ray and Bettye Poynter Hurt, he was a farmer and a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Hurt in 1995.
Survivors include his parents, Opal Ray and Bettye Poynter Hurt of Claymour; a sister, Debbie Hulse of Scottsburg, Ind.; four nephews; and two nieces.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., April 11 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton with the Rev. Steve Reed officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Andrew Wimbley
DRAKESBORO Andrew Wimbley, 83, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Born in Louisville, Nov. 24, 1920, he was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as an usher.
Survivors include his wife, Ada Wimbley; three sons, Andrew Wimbley Jr. of San Diego, Almond Wimbley of Chino and Alphonso Wimbley of Corcoran; a sister, Louise Fisher of Cincinnati; a brother, Joseph Wimbley of Cleveland; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., April 13 at Bethel Baptist Church in Drakesboro. Burial followed in West End Cemetery in Greenville. Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville was in charge of arrangements.
Anna Louise Kennedy
GREENVILLE Anna Louise Kennedy, 61, died Saturday, April 10, 2004 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Oct. 22, 1942, to the late Percy and Garnia Blake, she was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church in Greenville.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Kennedy; two sons, Bruce (Lori) Kennedy of Powderly and Keith (Gina) Kennedy of Greenville; two brothers, Bobby Blake of Evansville, Ind. and Percy “Buddy” Blake of Madisonville; a sister, Bettie Talley of Madisonville; four grandsons, Michael, Kyle, Cory and Joshua Kennedy; and a granddaughter, Nichole “Nikki” Kennedy.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., April 13 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Burden and the Rev. Donnie Wilkins officiating. Burial followed in Carter Creek Cemetery in Greenville.
Gladys Pauline Joines
BEECH CREEK Gladys Pauline Joines, 85, died Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Owensboro Medical Health System following several days of illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Oct. 3, 1918, she was a charter member of Beech Creek United Methodist Church since 1942. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Arthur Joines, a daughter, Shirley Anne in 1939 and a son, Jerry Glen in 1941.
Survivors include three daughters, Leota (J.C.) Tipton and Regina (Mike) Waller, both of Greenville and Deborah Robertson of Beech Creek; two sons, Donald (Lucy) Joines of Beech Creek and Gerald Wayne (Lynn) Joines of Belton; two sisters, Flo Eva (Gary) Strong of Prairieville, La. and Ruby (Frank) Fox of Dunmor; nine grandchildren, Dana Everett, Renea Tipton, Lori Markwell, Donna Jenkins, Donald Wayne Joines, Gery Joines, Serena Travis, Adam Robertson and Amanda Waller; a sister - in - law, Joyce (Lendell) Stuart; two brothers - in - law, Oakley (Junie) Joines and Obba (Geneva) Joines; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., April 11 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. George Phillips and the Rev. Jerry Troutman officiating. Burial followed in Union Ridge Cemetery.

Isaac Adler, 49, died Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at his residence in Central City.
He was born in Muhlenberg County, Feb. 6, 1955.
Survivors include an uncle, three half sisters and a half brother.

Virginia D. “Jean” Williams, 73, died Monday, April 12, 2004 at her residence in Central City.
Born in Pineville, Ky., June 26, 1930, she retired from Wal - Mart in 1996 after 16 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.M. Williams, Jr. in 1980.
Survivors include three sons, Billy (Jan) Williams of Willard, Ohio, Ron (Elaine) Williams of Mooresboro, N.C. and Steve (Kay) Williams of Pelion, S.C.; two daughters, Mary R. Williams of Sandy Run, S.C. and Debra (Danny) Dalton of Owensboro; two brothers, Tony Epley of Central City and Chester Epley of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sisters, Ethel Hobbs of Middlesboro, Wanda Willis of Michigan City, Ind. and Lana Jones of Florence, Ky.; nine grandsons, David Williams and Joel Williams, both of Nashville, Ron Williams Jr. , Matthew Hawes and Andrew Dalton, all of Owensboro, Jameson Williams of Clarksville, Tenn., Jonathan Williams of Atlanta, Ga., Matthew Williams of Shelby, N.C. and Andrew Epley of Central City; six granddaughters, Michelle Serrano of Plymouth, Pa., Allison Williams of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Amy Williams of Grass Valley, Calif., Kristina Williams and Megan Williams, both of Pelion, S.C. and Tonya Epley of Central City; and six great - grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., April 14 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City with a Celebration of Life Memorial service at 2 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until noon on Wednesday.
The family asks that expressions of condolences be made to Gideons International or to Green River Hospice at 109 S. Second St., Central City. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Donald Gene Hudson
SACRAMENTO - Donald Gene Hudson, 53, died Thursday, April 7, 2005. He is now walking the streets of gold of Heaven, cancer free after a long courageous battle here on earth.
Born in Madisonville Aug. 23, 1952 to the late Alva Hudson and Wilma Hudson, he loved bowling, spending time with his family; he especially loved spending time and playing with his two precious granddaughters. He worked for Sureway Grocers for 27 years and was a member of Browder United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Alva Hudson on Aug. 14, 1971 and his father - in - law, George S. Henry Sr. on April 5, 2005.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 31 years, Naomi Ruth Hudson; a son, David Hudson of Sacramento his mother, Wilma Hudson of Sacramento; two granddaughters, Ashley Nicole Hudson, better known as Sweetheart and Bailey Michelle Hudson, better known as Sweetie; a sister, Brenda Mendyk of Sacramento; a nephew and his wife, Chris and Lisa Mendyk of Louisville; a niece Alisa Mendyk of Evansville, IN; several aunts and uncles; his mother - in - law, Virginia Henry of Owensboro; two brother - in - laws, George Henry Jr. of Owensboro and Wayman Henry of Livermore; two sister - in - laws and their husbands, Peggy and Gerald Wethington of Reynolds Station, Becky and Larry Wilson of Sebree and several more nieces and nephews.

Born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 12, 2004, he was the son of Dereck English of Beech Creek and Terri Spears of Powderly.
Survivors include a half - sister, Jazzmine Noffsinger of Powderly; grandparents, Harold English of Beech Creek, Darlene Poole of Baltimore, Md., Rose Spears of Central City, Terry Spears of Greenville; great grandparents, Brenda Bishop and John Bishop, both of Central City, Madge Spears of Powderly, James English of Drakesboro and Mary Elizabeth Wester of Beechmont.

Keith Edward Miller
KEITH EDWARD MILLER, 45, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Jan. 7, 1960 to Harry and Betty Jo Miller of Sacramento, he was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and employed by Goldenrod Milk Co. as a route saleman. He enjoyed horseback riding, training, shoeing horses and motorcycling . He loved spending time with family and was a van driver for Bethlehem Church and VBS worker. He was also recording secretary for USWA, Local 14746 - 02.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Lynn Morris Miller; a daughter, Keisha Lynn Miller of Central City; two sons, Travis Keith Miller and Clint Nelson Miller, both of Central City; two brothers, Brian (LaVonne) Miller and Jeff Miller, both of Sacramento; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

SACRAMENTO - Hugh Sutton, 75, died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Princeton Health Care Manor.
Born in McLean County May 9, 1929 to the late George and Alice Sutton, he was a retired farmer.

DRAKESBORO - Calvin Wesley (C.W.) Mefford, 87, died peacefully Saturday April 9, 2005 at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Greenville following a lengthy illness.
Born in Butler County Feb. 10, 1918 to the late Raymond and Dulcie Grubb Mefford, he was a Christian and a faithful member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Drakesboro. He was a 50 - year member of the Hazel Creek Masonic Lodge No. 842. He retired following a 37 - year career as a grocery counselor for the J. Zinsmeister, Wetterau and Super Valu Grocery Company in Greenville. He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran serving as a Staff Sergeant for four years in the Pacific Theater. He was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed family activities, friends, singing, hiking and pets. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nelda James and his brother, Billy G. Mefford.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Margaret Nell Ewing Mefford; a daughter, Connie (Tommy) Neathamer of Beechmont; two sons, Steve W. (Vickie) Mefford of Belton and Billy W. (Angela) Mefford of Drakesboro; six grandchildren, Beth Mohon, Tommy Neathamer, Crista Briggs, Seth Mefford, Leah Wright and Adam Mefford; a great grandchild, Hope Mohon and two brothers ,Durwood Mefford of Owensboro and David Mefford of Bowling Green.

Born in Ohio County July 21, 1915, she was a retired assembly line operator for G.E. in Owensboro and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include a son, Billy Duvall of Corydon, Ind.; two step-sons, Bill Roark and Bob Roark, both of Ohio; a sister, Wilma Jean Stevens of South Carrollton and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. April 13 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Long officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. April 12 at Tucker Funeral Home.

Born in Muhlenberg County, Nov. 3, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Seymore and Fronnie Ford Bivins. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Earl Elkins in 1999.

Survivors include three brothers, Matthew Gaston, Dustin Eaves and Justin Eaves all of Central City; a sister, Hailey Eaves of Central City; grandparents, Randel and Patricia Eaves of Bremen, Tom and Karen Caskey of Central City and Dale and Linda Jeffers of Cleaton and a great - grandfather, Bob Creager of Powderly.
