Born March 24, 1935 in Ohio County, she was a homemaker and a long - time member of Livermore Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William D. Taylor; two sons, David Glenn Taylor and Donald Mart Taylor, both of Livermore; two daughters, Beverly Gay Weisman of Owensboro and Janet Mae Everly of Livermore; six grandchildren and one nephew.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, from 4 8 p.m. and Thursday, April 10, 9 a.m. 1:30 p.m. at Muster Funeral Homes, Livermore Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 10, at 2 p.m. at the Livermore Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Shockley officiating. Burial will follow in Green River Memorial Gardens in Livermore. Thomas Kimmel Henson
GREENVILLE - Thomas Kimmel Henson, 56, of Greenville, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at his residence following several months illness.
Born April 24, 1946 in Muhlenberg County, the son of Paul and Nancy Henson, he was employed at the Leader - News as a staff writer. He attended elementary school in Greenville and was a graduate of Beechwood High School in Fort Mitchell, Ky. He attended the University of Kentucky, majoring in journalism. He had also been employed by the Bradenton, Fla. Hearld News as sports editor and copy editor.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Henson of Greenville; one sister, Martha Lou Murray of Shawnee, Okla.; four nephews; two nieces; six great - nieces; and five great - nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 12, from 12:30 2 p.m. at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 12, also at Gary’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Gary’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Thelma Mae Jones
Thelma Mae Jones, 74, of Central City, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born Feb. 21, 1929 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Jones; her parents, Ernest and Mable Harper; and one sister, Lulu A. King.
She is survived by two brothers, James Ernest Harper and Gerald B. Harper, both of Greenville; one sister, Wilma Braden of Mortons Gap; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 8, from 3 7 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Funeral services will also be Tuesday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Everly officiating. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

GREENVILLE - Vickie Lynn Flener, 40, of Greenville, died Sunday, April 6, 2003 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville following several months of illness.
Born Jan. 22, 1963 in Greenville, the daughter of Robert Lee Hardison and Marilyn Elaine Blanchard Hardison, she was a member of Union Cross Road Baptist Church in Nortonville.
She is survived by her husband of seven years, Tim L. Flener of Greenville; one daughter, Charity Faith Dickerson of Madisonville; one son, Andrew Ryan Capps of Bremen; one stepdaughter, Jennifer DeAnn Ladd of Central City; one stepson, Michael Flener of Greenville; one granddaughter, Caitlyn Marie Dickerson of Madisonville; two brothers, Wane Keith Hardison of Greenville and Bryant Keith Hardison of Central City; three sisters, Brenda Greene of Greenville, Teresa Elmore of Miami, Fla. and Ronda Hardison of Central City; three stepsisters, Felicia Horton of Saginaw, Mich., Gayla Hogue of Bowling Green and Stephanie Brumley of Rockport.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 8, after 5 p.m. and Wednesday, April 9, after 9 a.m., at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville. BEECHCREEK - Cynthia Ann Joines, 37, of Beechcreek, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at her residence.
Born June 10, 1965 in Chicago, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Wayne Joines Jr. and Matthew Dylan Joines; three daughters, Panda Marie Joines, Chelsea Elizabeth Joines and Katrina Danille Joines; one brother, John Miller of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Carrie Rotto of Chicago; and her mother, Wilma Miller of Chicago.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 19, at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Troutman officiating. Burial followed in Union Ridge Cemetery in Belton.
Pauline House
PINCKNEYVILLE, ILL. - Pauline House, 76, of Pinckneyville, Ill., died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit.
Born May 21, 1926 in Pinckneyville, the daughter of Emery M. and Blanche E.(Uhles) Keith, she was a member of Nine Mile Baptist Church where she worked as a nursery worker, a Sunday school teacher and served as church pianist and was active in women’s missions. In early life she worked at the P.N. Hirsch clothing store. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. House; and an infant brother.
She is survived by three daughters, Luann (Robert) Lipe of Pinckneyville, Dorothy (Gary)Walker of Greenville and Alice (Mark) LaFond of Littleton, Colo.; three grandsons, Nolan Lipe, Garrett Lipe and Derek Walker; two brothers, Norman (Georgia) Keith of Du Quoin, Ill. and Marvin Keith of Tamaroa, Ill.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 21, at the Nine Mile Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Carrothers officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin. Leslie O. “Willie” Mayes
LOUISVILLE - Leslie O. “Willie” Mayes, 57, of Louisville died Saturday, April 12, 2003, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born March 24, 1946 in Greenville, the son of the late Helen Lesley Mayes and Otha Mayes, he was a barber and cosmetologist.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Henry Mayes; one son, Russell (Caren) Mayes of Orange, Calif; one brother, Elzie Mayes of Gray, Ga.; three sisters, Martha Whitaker of Greenville, Linda Blake of Clifty and Patsy Harker of Gray, Ga.; a host of nieces and nephews and great - nieces and great - nephews and his beloved Madison.
Funeral services, a celebration of his life, will be held Saturday, April 26, 2003, at his residence at 1963 Douglass Blvd., Louisville, KY 40205. Family and friends will officiate. George M. Dexter
LEXINGTON - George M. Dexter, 58, of Lexington, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Samaritan Hospital.
A native of Greenville, he was a son of the late George Maxwell and Helen Blackwell Dexter and an active member of Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral. He attended the University of Kentucky and later served as Associate Dean of Admissions and Associate Registrar among other positions. After retirement, he was employed by the Lexington Antique Gallery.
He is survived by a brother, Bill (Shirley) Dexter of Owensboro; and two nieces.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 19, at Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral with the Rev. Morris Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville with the Rev. Milford Hullon Owens
BELTON - Milford Hullon Owens, 71, of Belton, died Friday, April 18, 2003, at his residence.
Born August 6, 1925 in Tennessee, he was a retired bridge foreman and had been employed by the Muhlenberg County Road Department. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Greenville. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by four sons, Keith Owens of Houston, Texas, Sam Owens of Greenville, Dorris Owens of Beechmont and Dwight Owens of Dunmor; three daughters, Wanda Cartwright of Beechmont, Jennifer Variot of Beaver Dam and Vanessa Sallee of Central City; thirteen grandchildren; five great - grandchildren; three brothers, Travis Owens of Belton, Jack Owens of Louisiana and Joe Owens of Tennessee; four sisters, Lauretter Mallory of Greenville; Henritta McCanndles of Florence, Colo., Myrtie Kennedy and Oretha Joines, both of Beech Creek.
Graveside services and burial were held Saturday, April 19, at Union Ridge Cemetery in Belton with the Rev. Leamon Mefford officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Wilma Jean Raley
Wilma Jean Raley, 66, of Central City, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born March 29, 1937 in Muhlenberg County, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Central City and was employed as a bookkeeper at Raley’s Chevron Service Station.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Darrel Raley; two sons, Kenny Raley and Larry Raley of Central City; her mother, Helen Hickman of Central City; one brother, Jackie Paul Hickman of Sullivan, Ind.; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Larra; and four step-grandchildren, Mike, Sammy, Austin and Abbi.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Bob Lowery officiating. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Ruby Lorene Piper Dukes
LEDBETTER, KY - Ruby Lorene Piper Dukes, 92, of Ledbetter, died Friday, April 18, 2003, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
Born March 5, 1911 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker and a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Dukes; daughter, Betty Coyler; three sons, Jimmy Dukes, Joseph Franklin Dukes and Robert Clinton Dukes.
She is survived by three sons, Harold Dukes of Henderson, Tenn., Bobby Dukes of Boston, Ky. and Tommy Dukes of Hammond, Ind.; four daughters, Edith Sigers and Mary Davis, both of Central City, Dorothy McNeely and Eva Dickinson, both of Reidland, Ky.; 26 grandchildren; 47 great - grandchildren and 32 great - great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 20, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. J. W. Haire officiating. Burial followed in Miller Cemetery in Cleaton.
Hazel Marie Sumner
RUSSELLVILLE - Hazel Marie Sumner, 78, of Russellville, died Friday, April 28, 2003 at her residence.
Born June 29, 1924, she was a homemaker and a member of Quality Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Sumner of Russellville; one daughter, Rena Sumner Blackford of Russellville, two sisters, Nola Wallace of Campbellsville and Evelyn Cox of Altamont, Kan.

Cecil Ray Jarvis
GREENVILLE - Cecil Ray Jarvis, 87, of Greenville, died Saturday, April 19, 2003 at Belle Meade Nursing Center in Greenville.
Born June 26, 1915 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by several cousins.

L. T. Jarvis, 86, of Central City, died Friday, April 18, 2003, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville, N.C.
Born March 10, 1917 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker and a member of Woodson Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Jarvis in 1992.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Hearld of Central City and Anita Haney of Cornelius, N.C.; five grandchildren; and three great - grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Scott Casebier officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
