Born in Muhlenberg County, the daughter of the late Merl and Letha Smith, she loved people and had many friends. Her hobby was visiting and talking with her friends. She was the twelfth child born in her family and was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by four other siblings.
Survivors include four brothers, Billy Smith of Eloy, Ariz., Paul Smith of West Manchester, Ohio, Tommy Smith of Casa Grande, Ariz. and Wavy Leon Smith of Valparaiso, Ind.; two sisters, Sally Smith of Arizona City, Ariz. and Wendy Sue Mayhugh of Central City.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. April 2 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Foster officiating. Burial followed in the Smith Family Cemetery in Paradise, Ky.
Shelia Fay Piper
POWDERLY Shelia Fay Piper, 52, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Owensboro Mercy Health System.
Born in Muhlenberg County July 27, 1952, she was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Patrick Piper of Graham; two step-sons, Jeremy Piper of Greenville and Derick Piper of Beech Creek; a step-daughter, Jennifer Garrett of Drakesboro; her mother, Agnes Bryant of Greenville; a brother, Jeff Bryant of Greenville; two grandchildren, Madeline and Caleb Piper and six step-grandchildren, Mikalah, Cachariah, Hezekiah, Monika and Cody Piper and Tori Garrett.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 1 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Loney officiating. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery in Greenville.
Irene Orange Kuhn
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO. Irene Orange Kuhn, 91, formerly of Drakesboro, died Monday, March 28, 2005 at Chateau Girardeau.
Born in Belton Sept. 1, 1913, the daughter of the late Thomas Curtis and Hadie Shepherd Orange, she was a homemaker and a member of the Drakesboro Baptist Church for over 50 years. She married Johnnie C. Kuhn Dec. 17, 1938. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie in 1988; a sister, Avanell Orange and two brothers, James Edward Orange and J.D. Orange.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley (Tim) Harrison of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two sisters, AusaMae Eddings of Brentwood, Tenn. and Lou Vera Givens of Browder; two grandsons, Mark (Heidi) Harrison of Smyrna, Tenn. and Michael (Kim) Harrison of St. Louis, Mo. and three great - grandsons.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. March 31 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Stovall officiating. Burial followed in Forest Grove Cemetery.
Dallas Rainwaters
SHARON GROVE Dallas Rainwaters, 90, died Monday, March 28, 2005 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.
Born in Muhlenberg County Feb. 10, 1915, the son of the late Monroe Claude and Ollie Boyd Hall Rainwaters, he was a retired carpenter and farmer and was a member of the Sharon Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Zula Mae Moore Rainwaters; two daughters, Brenda J. Crouch of Evansville and Carolyn Potter of Elkton; three grandchildren and seven great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. March 31 at Latham Funeral Home with Jerry Crunk officiating. Burial followed in McPherson Cemetery.
Margaret Davis
BEECH CREEK Margaret Davis, 87, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County March 14, 1918, she was a nurse’s aide at Muhlenberg Community Hospital and a member of Mercer Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Timothy Davis of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three daughters, Joan Tooley of Lewisburg, Carolyn Harper of Beechmont and Patty Tate of Powderly; a sister, Jo Dell Vanlandingham of Beech Creek; six grandchildren; six great - grandchildren and one great - great - grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. April 2 at Mercer Baptist Church in Powderly with the Rev. Fred Harrison and the Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial followed in Wyatts Chapel Cemetery. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Diane LaVerne Villone
GREENVILLE Diane LaVerne Villone, 91, died Friday, April 1, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Pekin, N.Y. Oct. 5, 1913, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Arnold Villone of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Diana Simpao of Greenville; a brother, Samuel Vallecorse of Kenmore, N.Y.; seven grandchildren and 11 great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. April 5 at Tucker Funeral Home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. April 7 at Ebenezer Cemetery.
John L. Willoughby Jr.
GREENVILLE John L. Willoughby Jr., 50, died Friday, April 1, 2005 at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Born in Bowling Green, Aug. 27, 1954, the son of the late John L. and Margaret Willoughby, he was a self - employed truck driver and a U.S. Marines Veteran. He enjoyed trucking, farming, spending time with family, friends and his dog, Jake. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Willoughby.
Survivors include his wife, Terri Blades Willoughby; two sons, John Willoughby III of Lexington and Tristen Willoughby of Central City; six daughters, Laura Flener of Owensboro, Kellie Blades of Island, Stephine Willoughby and Cindy Jones, both of Lexington, and Tiffany Willoughby and Cassie King, both of Central City; three brother, Joe Pedigo of Greenville, and Roger Willoughby and Kenny Willoughby, both of Bowling Green; two sisters, Martha Schrimster and Linda Burch, both of Bowling Green and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 4 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Mooneyhan and the Rev. Doug Kirtley officiating. Burial followed in Worthington’s Chapel Cemetery in Island.

GREENVILLE Douglas T Mercer, 43, died Sunday April 3, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Fulton County, Ga., Sept. 16, 1961, the son of Tommy and Pauline Mercer of Greenville, he was a member of Luzerne General Baptist Church and employed by Ensign Bickford. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, TJ Newman and R. T. Mercer.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Mercer; two sons, Daniel T. Mercer and Jacob Thomas Mercer, both of Greenville; his parents; three sisters, Renee Toney of Madisonville, Connie Oakes of Trenton and Patty Richards of Virginia Beach, Va.; his grandmothers Mareen Mercer of Greenville and Gladys Newman of Powderly.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. April 6 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Winters officiating. Burial will follow in Nebo Cemetery. Visitation will be at 4 p.m. April 5 at Tucker Funeral Home.

SOUTH CARROLLTON Grace H. McClure, 92, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Dec. 18, 1912, she was a homemaker and a member of Maple Grove General Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Thurl McClure and a daughter Reva Howard.
Survivors include a son Thomas McClure of Bremen; two daughters, Carolyn Littlefield of Bremen and Pat McDonald of South Carrollton; 20 grandchildren and several great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. April 4 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Carroll officiating. Burial followed in Forest Grove Cemetery in Browder.
Wanda L. Shearer
LAKEWOOD COLO. Wanda L. Shearer, 79, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 in Lakewood ,Colo.
Born in Muhlenberg County Nov 1, 1925, she was the daughter of the late O.J. and Dimple Wheeler Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Shearer and a brother Oscar J. Wheeler Jr.
Survivors include two daughters; Amy McAffee of Arava, Colo. and Abby Marlin of Lakewood; two sons, Lennie Shearer of Craig, Colo. and Leslie Shearer of Douglas Wyo.; two brothers, C.T. Wheeler and Carroll Wheeler both of Greenville; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at noon April 7 at Crown Hill Chapel in Denver. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. April 6 at Crown Hill Chapel.
Johnna Sue Albin
SACRAMENTO Johnna Sue Albin, 58, died Sunday April 3, 2005 at Owensboro Mercy Health System.
Born in Island Jan. 12, 1947, she was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God in Greenville.
Survivors include her husband; John Albin, three sons; Robert W. Albin of Pleasant Ridge, Nickolas Kyle Albin of Newport News, Va., John Travis Albin of Sacramento; her mother, Louise Case of Greenville; a sister, Nola Rogers of Hartford City, Ind.; a brother, Larry W. Case of Calvert City and three grandchildren.

Judy Beth Rager, 60, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 in Cleaton.
Born in Muhlenberg County March 18, 1945, she was a LPN at Morgantown Care and Rehab Center. She was preceded in death by three sons, David Clark Rager II, Jamie Scott Rager and Mickey Lane Rager.
Survivors include a son Michael Devon Dunbar Rager of Central City; a sister, Brenda Dukes of Browder; a brother, Larry Jenkins of Drakesboro, several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. April 3 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Central City with Brother Otis Cunningham officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Willowdean Steele Hilliard
POWDERLY Willowdean Steele Hilliard, 78, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital following several weeks illness.
Born June 11, 1926, to the late John and Martha Majors Steele, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, John, Aaron and Morgan Steele, and five sisters, Virgie Jackson, Agness Jarvis, Georgia Garrett, May Steele and Carmen Dittman.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Hilliard; a son, Steve Hilliard of Powderly; three sisters, Alice Cobb, Juanita Raleigh and Mildred Rolley; two grandchildren, Brandie Terry and Shannon Gibson; a great - grandchild, Erin Terry.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. April 6 at Gary’s Funeral Home with Bishop Ricky Hoskins, Craig Rolley and Joey Steele officiating. Burial will follow in the Muhlenberg County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powderly. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 5 at Gary’s Funeral Home.
Raymond Lee Arnold, Jr.
DRAKESBORO – Raymond Lee Arnold, Jr., 53, died Wednesday, March 29, 2006 in Owensboro.
Born in Muhlenberg County, April 20, 1953, he was a truck driver for Kroger and member of the Penrod Baptist Church. His hobbies were flying, cars and spending time with his wife and sons, whom he loved dearly. He especially enjoyed being with his granddaughter, Carley.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Debra Robinson Arnold; two sons, Jarrod R. Arnold of Drakesboro and Chad (Kiesha) Arnold of Owensboro; parents, Raymond and Bea Arnold of Central City; grandparents, Clifford and Nora Arnold of Drakesboro; a sister, Kim (Steve) Washburn of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Carley Arnold of Owensboro; a niece, Kristen Washburn and a nephew, Stephen Washburn.

Frank Earl Shrewsberry, 50, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Oct. 16, 1955, he was a truck driver for Coca Cola Co. in Central City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Thelma Jagoe Shrewsberry.
Survivors include three brothers, Larry Shrewsberry of Charlotte, N.C., Hershel Shrewsberry and Jimmy Shrewsberry, both of Drakesboro; five sisters, Barbara Shelton, Shirley Shrewsberry, Kathy Shrewsberry and Jaqueline Shrewsberry, all of Central City and Betty Bard of Greenville; two aunts, Mary Alice Moore of Indianapolis and Florence Tyler of Owensboro; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charles Wilson Strader
MADISONVILLE – Charles Wilson Strader, 93, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Regional Medical Center.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Feb. 9, 1913, he was the son of the late L.C. Strader and Wilma Tinsley Strader. Preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Marie Groves Strader in 1998, he was a retired coal miner from Peabody Coal Co. and a member of the Browder United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Roberts of Madisonville; a son, Bobby W. Strader of Madisonville; three sisters, Lela Shanks of Greenville, Rena Roark and Virginia Towery, both of Owensboro; a brother, John A. Strader of Greenville; eight grandchildren and 21 great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 29 at the Barnett - Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville with Pastor Shane Browning and Pastor Lonnie Strader officiating.
