GREENVILLE – Alvina Vincent Stanley, 81, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Oct. 29, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Leslie James Vincent and Doashi Cobb Stanley. Housewife and homemaker, she was a member of the Beech Creek Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Stanley and brother, Other Vincent.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela (Charles Glen) Crabtree of Greenville and Rita (Troy) Rager of Bremen; three sons, Thomas (Kathy) Stanley of Bremen, Harold (Donna) Stanley of Belton and Bobby Ashley of Cedar Hill, Mo.; a brother, James Vincent of Evansville and four grandchildren, Daniel Stanley, Savanah (Evan) Wiseman, Cody Blake Stanley and Ashley Dawn Stanley.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. March 31 at Gary’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve McElvain officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Depoy.
Michael Boyd Neal
CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN – Michael Boyd Neal, 40, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at his residence.
Born in Lorain, Ohio, July 19, 1965, he was a factory worker for Subaru Automotive, a member of First Baptist Church in Crawfordsville, Ohio and a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Carpenter Neal; a son, Isaiah Neal of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Emily Neal of Crawfordsville; father, Michael Neal of Central City; mother, Sherry Davis of Dawson Springs; sister, Tracie Smith of Cadiz; grandmother, Gwendolyn Kimmel of Central City and great - grandmother, Ava Nell Whittinghill of Central City.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. March 31 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Neal officiating. Burial followed at Antioch Cemetery in Muhlenberg County.
Hazel Catherine Higgs
Hazel Catherine Higgs, 78, died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, July 17, 1927, she was a homemaker and member of Mercer Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Freda (James) Anderson of Drakesboro and Carolyn (Cecil) Arnold of Central City; a sister, Barbara McGuyer of Morgantown; five grandchildren, Ivy Smith, Kathy Porter, Jason Arnold, Glen Browning and Matthew Hearld; three great - grandchildren, Monica Browning, Bradley Smith and Tyler Arnold; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. April 2 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.
Kevin Dale Wagoner
GRAHAM – Kevin Dale Wagoner, 35, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Jan. 12, 1971, he was a saw mill worker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, Michael Wagoner of Island; parents, Roy and Darlene Shoemaker of Graham; grandparents, Earl and Edna Heady of South Carrollton and Bobby Joe and Mary Lou Robertson of Cleaton; a step-grandmother, Catherine Shoemaker of Martinsburg, W.V.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 2 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Eades officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery in South Carrollton.
Wilda Jean Pearson
LEWISBURG – Wilda Jean Pearson, 69, died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Nov. 7, 1936, she was a homemaker and member of Upton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Olivia Pearson; father, Holbert Toomey; mother, Milded Williams Toomey and three brothers, Raymond Toomey, Harold Lee Toomey and J.D. Toomey.
Survivors include her husband, Irvin Pearson; four daughters, Tammy Fields of Upton, Ky., Pamela Green of Munfordville, Ky., Tracie Prather of Lewisburg and Twyinia Bryant of Cub Run, Ky.; three sons, Mervin Pearson and Irvin Scott Pearson, both of Dunmor and David Pearson of Munfordville, Ky.; two stepsons, Irvin Felmore Pearson, Jr. of Elizabethtown and James Pearson of Florida; a sister, Rosie Bell Wallace of Greenville; four brothers, Lyndell Toomey of Beechmont, James Toomey of Lewisburg, Jerry Toomey of Penrod and Holbert Toomey, Jr. of Beech Creek; 21 grandchildren and 19 great - grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 1 at Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg with the Rev. Sam Romines officiating. Burial followed at Dunmor Cemetery in Dunmor.
Christopher Divine Snodgrass
BREMEN – Christopher Divine Snodgrass, 29, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at his residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Dec. 26, 1976, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Delford Snodgrass. He was a member of Dawson Springs Baptist Temple and employed by Tarp Shop in Beaver Dam.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Snodgrass; a daughter, Olivia Snodgrass; a stepson, Connor Woodard; parents, Ed and Cheryl Snodgrass of Bremen; a brother, Chad Snodgrass of Williams, Calif.; a sister, Charity Franklin of Bremen; grandparents, Estel and Martine Divine of Bremen and Nurine Snodgrass of Drakesboro; a niece, Paige Franklin and three nephews, Parker Franklin, Jacob Snodgrass and Luke Snodgrass.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. April 5 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis McGehee officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Bremen. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. April 4 at Tucker Funeral Home.
Virginia Lee Paxton
GREENVILLE – Virginia Lee Paxton, 90, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, July 24, 1915, she was a retired nurse’s aide from Welborn Hospital in Evansville and a member of Greenville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two nieces, Zada Lightbody and Jimmie Lou Allen, both of Central City; two nephews, Eddie Paxton of Central City and Wayne Fairchild of Luzerne; several great and great - great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. April 3 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary McAbee officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.
Benjamin Franklin Pendley, Sr.
DRAKESBORO – Benjamin Franklin Pendley, Sr., 74, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Butler County, December 24, 1931, he was a coal miner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Minnie Pendley; four brothers, Gabiel Pendley, Graden Pendley, Bobby Joe Pendley and B.H. Pendley; a sister, Racheal Pendley and a daughter - in - law, Dora Pendley.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Oglesby Pendley of Drakesboro; two sons, Benjamin Pendley Jr. of Drakesboro and Joseph Pendley of Rosewood; a daughter, Doris Ann Smith of Drakesboro; a sister, Mary Doolin of Drakesboro and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. April 4 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Gates officiating. Burial followed at Sandy Creek Cemetery in Morgantown.

DRAKESBORO – Ruby Louise Lindsay, 62, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Feb. 23, 1944, she was a homemaker and member of Union Chapel General Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, James “Bobby” Lindsay; three sons, James (Carol) Lindsay of Beaver Dam, Robert (Kim) Lindsay and Richard Lindsay, both of Drakesboro; a brother, Darrell Moore of Greenville; five sisters, Merle Hammons and Maxine Carter, both of Providence, Neda Carton of Frankfort, Ind., Betty Edward of Greenville and Edna Moore of Drakesboro; six grandchildren, Jerrod (Alice) Lindsay, Michelle Lindsay, Heather Lindsay, Tyler Lindsay, Taylor Lindsay and Thomas Lindsay and two great - grandchildren, Anna and Allie Lindsay.

Boyd G. Peveler
HILLVIEW, KY – Boyd G. Peveler, 78, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at Norton Audubon Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Aug. 26, 1927, he was the son of the late George W. and Flora L. Drake Peveler. A retired foundry worker from International Harvester, a U.S. Army Veteran and of the Baptist faith, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lana Peveler; two brothers, Dallas Peveler and Bobby Peveler and two sisters, Bonnie Harper and Nell Peveler.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherri Adams and Jeanette Coulter; three sons, Barry Peveler, Tim Peveler and Robert Adams; two sisters, Eva O’Neil and Roma Gibson and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. March 29 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home in Shepherdsville, Ky. Burial followed at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Central City.
Ruby Nell Allen
MALDEN, MO - Ruby Nell Allen, 80, of Malden, Mo., formerly of Greenville, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare North Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born April 30, 1922 in Muhlenberg County, the daughter of Johnny Monroe Luckett and Gladys Robertson Luckett, she was a homemaker and a member of Duvall’s Chapel General Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Rev. Otis Monroe Allen in 2001; two sisters, Anna Mae Luckett and Margie McPherson on March 24, 2003.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Cowsert and Barbara Coons, both of Malden, Mo.; three sons, Darrell Allen of Belton, Wayne Allen of Louisville and Rick Allen of Malden; seven grandchildren; 19 great - grandchildren; one great - great - grandchild; three brothers, Gene Luckett of Beechmont, Jack Luckett of Forsyth, Mo. and Pete Luckett of Montgomery, Ala.; and two sisters, Sue Long of Pacific, Mo. and Mary Eddings of Greenville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 30, at Duvall’s Chapel General Baptist Church near Greenville with the Revs. Scott Keller, Mark Cowsert and Ken Miller officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Margie Evelyn Luckett McPherson
HOPKINSVILLE - Margie Evelyn Luckett McPherson, 74, of Hopkinsville, died Monday, March 24, 2003, following a lengthy illness.
Born April 4, 1928 in Beech Creek Junction, the daughter of Johnny Monroe Luckett and Gladys Evelyn Robertson Luckett, she was a housewife. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert McPherson, and sister, Anna Mae Luckett.
She is survived by three brothers, Vernon “Pete” Luckett of Montgomery, Ala, Gene Luckett of Beechmont and Lindel Luckett of Forsyth, Mo.; three sisters, Ruby Allen of Malden, Mo., Sue Long of Pacific, Mo. and Mary Eddings of Greenville.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 27, at Gary’s Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Miller officiating. Burial followed in Union Ridge Cemetery near Twin Tunnels.
Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Sharon Ann Toll
MADISONVILLE - Sharon Ann Toll, 57, of Madisonville, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at her residence.
Born August 30, 1945 in Muhlenberg County, she was a retired billing clerk and had worked for Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by one daughter, Tina Ashby of Bremen; two grandchildren, Robert and Tiffany Davis; and her mother, Geroma Stinnett of Central City.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 26, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Dan Yeager officiating. Burial followed in New Harmony Cemetery. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth Lovell Covington
LOUISVILLE - Kenneth Lovell Covington, 79, of Louisville, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Masonic Home of Kentucky.
A native of Muhlenberg County, he was a retired manager of the old San Antonio Inn and a member of the Abraham Masonic Lodge #8. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, the former Anna Burkhead; two sons, George Compton and Bruce Sands; four daughters, Carolyn Swinney, Marion Kennedy, Ruth Wyatt and Rebecca McMaclan; sister, Margaret Burger; three brothers, Delbert Ray, David Earl and Larry Wayne Covington; several grandchildren, great - grandchildren and great - great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Zelda Mae Burden
Zelda Mae Burden, 60, of Central City, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born Feb. 28, 1943 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Cartwright.
She is survived by one son, Oscar R. Burden Jr. of Central City; four grandsons, Christopher Burden, Stephen Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell and Michael Rhodes; two brothers, Thurman Grundy of Central City and Wayne Cartwright of Greenville; and four sisters, Martha Jane Judd of Doyle, Tenn., Sue Stogner of Bremen, Maxine Woodburn of Sacramento and Anna Brown of Greenville.

LOUISVILLE - Parker Gower, 80, of Louisville, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at the Masonic Home of Kentucky.
A member of Middletown Christian Church, he was a retired assembly line worker for General Electric Corporation and a member of Prime Timers Music Group. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Gower; one son, Henry Gower of Louisville; one stepdaughter, Bonnie Sue Brame of Portland, Ore.; one stepson, Louis Williams, II of Louisville; one sister, Laura Mae Dye, of West Virginia; one brother, Edward “Tink” Gower, of West Virginia; six grandchildren; and four great - grandchildren.
