Born in Hopkins County, March 4, 1984, the daughter of Kenneth and Barbara Vincent of Central City, she was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Gordon and Dorothy Holland.
Survivors include her parents; two brothers, David (Shan) Vincent of Scottsville and Derek (Sarah) Vincent of Central City; a niece, Makayla Vincent of Scottsville; her grandparents, Freddie and Patsy Vincent of Central City; godparents, Bill and Ann Knight of Central City and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Feb. 19 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Jones and the Rev. Bobby Reno officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Bremen. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Carrol J. Meister
GREENVILLE Carrol J. Meister, 77, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Tuscola, Ill. March 18, 1927, the son of the late Henry E. Meister and Lenora Cloney, he graduated in 1945 from Freelandville High School, in Freelandville, Ind. He served in the army as a supply clerk with the 3rd Regiment in Germany during WWII. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Central City. He was co-owner of Meister Drilling Company of Greenville. He enjoyed working outdoors, boating, traveling and visiting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marianne B. Meister; four sons, Dr. Fred (Helen) Meister of Owensboro, John (Rose) Meister of Owensboro, Chris (Lori) Meister and Phillip (Jill) Meister, all of Greenville; a brother, Robert E. (Audrey) Meister of Upland, Calif.; a sister, Jean (Pat) Manly of San Diego, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Molly Roebker, Eric Meister, D. Joseph Meister, Katie Meister, Toby Meister, Jennifer Scott, Josh Meister, David Meister, Adam Meister and Dominic Meister; six great-grandchildren, Libby, Anna, Tommy, Andrew, Mary Kate and Stephen; cousins George Meister, Jr. of Tuscola, Ill., Mary Kraus of Irvine, Calif., Jackie Carter of El Cajon, Calif., Jervae Ingersoll of Goshen, Calif. and Fran Miller of Indianapolis, Ind.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Feb. 19 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Central City. Burial followed in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Utica. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church “Food Pantry” in Central City or Green River Hospice in Central City.
Lyndon O. McGehee
BELTON Lyndon O. McGehee, 71, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005 at his residence.
Born in McLean County Jan. 27, 1934, he was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church, retired from TVA and was a WWII veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Garrett McGehee; a son, Ronnie McGehee of Browder; a daughter, Donna Jackson of Browder; three brothers, George McGehee of Jacksonville, Fla., Billy McGehee of San Antonio, Texas and Charles McGehee of Calhoun; a sister, Dorothy Sizemore of Bufford, S.C. and one grandson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 20 at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. Burial followed in Hazel Creek Cemetery in Belton.
John Walton Tinsley
BEECHMONT John Walton Tinsley, 79, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005 at his residence.
Born in Ohio County May 27, 1925, he was a member of the Arc of Safety Full Gospel Church and a retired conductor with I.C.R.R.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Whitney Tinsley; two sons, John E. Tinsley of Greenville and Joe David Tinsley of Clarksville; three daughters, Vivian Steele of Clarksville, Tenn., Regina Mae “Judy” Mize of Central City and Opeline Carver of Beechmont; three step-sons, Bobby Hardison of Beech Creek, Harold Hardison and Glendall Hardison, both of Beechmont; two step-daughters, Shirley LeGrand and Brenda Hill, both of Beech Creek; a brother, James Hewel Tinsley of Florida; two sisters, Florence Frazer of Indianapolis, Ind. and Earlene Watkins of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.

Bobbie Douglas Majors
POWDERLY Bobbie Douglas Majors, 66, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County Sept. 6, 1937, he was a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Nell Majors; his mother, Virginia Majors of Greenville and six brothers, Harold Majors and Freddie Majors, both of Greenville, William Majors and Paul Majors, both of Powderly, Billy Majors of Allegree and Larry Majors of Smithland, Ky.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Rearden officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens in Powderly.
Denzil “Punch” Woodall
BREMEN Denzil “Punch” Woodall, 71, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
Born in Muhlenberg County Feb. 10, 1934, he was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and retired from Kroger as a manager.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia Woodall; two sons, Robert Woodall of Midland and David Woodall of Madisonville; two daughters, Sheri English of Central City and Lisa Moore of Bremen; a sister, Eva Blizzard of Midland; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one nephew; one niece; two great-nephews and two great-nieces.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 20 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Yeager officiating. Burial followed in New Harmony Cemetery in Bremen.
Ruby Butler Wells
TOLEDO, OHIO Ruby Butler Wells, 83, formerly of Belton, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 at Ridgewood Manor in Maumee, Ohio.
Born at Daniel Boone in Hopkins County Jan. 19, 1922, the daughter of the late Aude and Ethel Butler, she was a member of the North Cove Church of God and a bookkeeper for the Toledo Clinic. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lucille Clardy and a brother, H. Perry Butler.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, J.L. Wells; a son, Bruce Wells; a daughter, Lana Fish; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 12 at the Ansberg West Funeral Home in Toledo with the Rev. Robert Fry officiating. Burial followed in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
James Henry “Jamup” Knight
DRAKESBORO – James Henry “Jamup” Knight, 68, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006 at Maple Manor Nursing Center in Greenville.
Born in Muhlenberg County May 9, 1937, he was a retired coal miner and logger and attended Union Chapel General Baptist Church. He was a member of Hazel Creek Masonic Lodge #842 and the United Mine Workers of America.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Iva Dell Gorham Knight; two sons, Ricky (Vicki) Knight and Kevin Knight, all of Drakesboro; a daughter, Kim (Robert) Lindsay of Drakesboro; four grandchildren, Jason Knight, Brandy (John) Lanier, Jerrod (Alice) Lindsay and Michelle Lindsay; two great-grandchildren, Anna and Allie Lindsay and two sisters, Barbara Arnold of Drakesboro and Dorothy Scharf of Millstadt, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 23 at Union Chapel General Baptist Church with the Rev. Kerry Vincent and the Rev. Robert Lindsay officiating. Zena Hendrix
LANSING, IL – Zena Hendrix, 74, formerly of Greenville, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006.
Hendrix was a veteran of the Korean War and retired after 41 years of service from Inland Steel Co. He was a longtime active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ora and James.
Survivors include his wife, Myra (nee Scribner); three children, Donald (Lisa Childs) of LaGrange Park, Ill., Randal of Hammond and Karen (Len) Cox of Lansing; four grandchildren, Cherle, Spencer and Claire Cox and Margaret Hendrix; three brothers, Marvin (Thelma) of Highland, LeRoy (Barbara) of Greenville and Bob (Jeanette) of Central City; two sisters-in-law, Joan Hendrix of South Holland and Dolores Wilkerson of Brunswick, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews.
A committal service was held at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 2 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schereville. A memorial service followed at noon at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Richard Dean Ledbetter
DRAKESBORO – Richard Dean Ledbetter, 69, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Harrisburg, Ill. Jan. 2, 1937, he was a truck driver, a veteran and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Dale Ledbetter and Jerry Wayne Ledbetter.

Frank “Pat” Vogler
GREENVILLE - Frank “Pat” Vogler, 91, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006.
Born in Monticello, Ky. Nov. 12, 1914 he was the son of the late John Vogler and Gertrude Vickery Vogler. He lived in Greenville the last 50 years. He was an independent oil and gas producer and was involved in many businesses in Monticello and Greenville.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Emma Bell Vogler; three children, Patricia (James) McClure of Lexington, John Frank (Margie) Vogler of Greenville and Linda (James) Black of Round Rock, Texas; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at noon Feb. 20 at Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello with the Rev. Vernon Perdue officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greenville United Methodist Church. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
James Albert Langley
GREENVILLE – James Albert Langley, 53, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born in Beech Creek April 3, 1952, the son of Alvis Bernie Langley and Mary Magdeline Ellison Langley, he was a disabled Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal Olivia Evitts Langley; two sons, Joseph Langley of Browder and Jonathan Langley of Greenville; six daughters, Tina Griffith, Jamie Langley and Ashley Langley, all of Greenville and Therasa Flener, Natasha Langley and Betty Langley, all of Elkton; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Alvis Joe Langley and Jim Henry Langley, both of Greenville, Sherman Earl Langley of Belton and William Harrison Langley of Dunmor; three sisters, Roberta Derus of Fairfield, Ill., Louise McElvain of Belton and Georgia Faye Daniel of Newbern, Tenn. and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Alabama Feb. 5, 1954, he was a coal tower foreman for TVA, a Navy veteran and a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Owensboro.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Childs; two sons, Jason Childs of Lexington and Bradley Childs of Owensboro; a daughter, Ashley Childs of Beechmont; and his parents, Robert Childs of Owensboro and Nancy Hufnagel of Owensboro.

DRAKESBORO – Glenda Rhea Ewing, 82, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006 at her residence.
Born in Muhlenberg County July 24, 1923, she was a homemaker and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lorene Smith and a great-grandson, Jason Hall.
Survivors include her husband, William T. “Bill” Ewing; two sons, Billy Ewing of Dunmor and Bobby Ewing of Drakesboro; a daughter, Janice Rodgers of Dunmor; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

GREENVILLE – Robert Wayne Lear, 65, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006 at his daughter’s residence in Hanson after a lengthy illness.
Born in Muhlenberg County Dec. 26, 1940, the son of Elgan Lear and Lucille Crick Lear, he was a retired farmer and a member of Cave Spring Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Lear; his mother, Maudie Lucille Lear of Greenville; the mother of his children, Charlotte Ann Lear of Madisonville; a daughter, Mary Lou (John) Gunby of Hanson; two sons, Robert Anthony (Carol) Lear of Madisonville and Scott Wesley Lear of Monroe, N.C.; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five step-children and families; a sister, Martha (Jim) Jenkins of Greenville; a brother, Elgan Lear of Greenville and two nephews.

William E. Fields
MUSKEGON, MI – William E. Fields, 75, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006 in Muskegon, Mich.
Born in Central City June 5, 1930, the son of John and Lillie (Fulkerson) Fields, he had resided in the Muskegon area the past 20 years, moving there from Ypsilanti, Mich. Prior to his retirement, Bill had been a mason for the University of Michigan. He was a member of the Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene and was a former member of both the F.O.E. and the Moose Lodge in Ypsilanti. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gracie and Jeannie and his brother, Whitey.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Verna Foster Fields; six children, Linda (Terry) Norris, Thomas (Ina) Fields, Martin “Dean” Fields, John (Robin) Fields, all of Ypsilanti, Mich., Debbie (Steve) Matthews and Bradley Fields of Muskegon, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jim, Jerry (Eva) and Les (Rhonda) Fields, all of Kentucky; three sisters, Betty (Lowell) Johnson, Frances (Paul) Uzzle and Jo Vincent, all of Kentucky.
