SACRAMENTO - Geneva Elizabeth Browning Wiggins, 95, of Sacramento, died Feb. 6, 2003 at Owensboro Mercy Hospital.
Born July 7, 1907 in Muhlenberg County, a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church since 1919, she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Arley Wiggins; two daughters and son-in-laws, Barbara and Orvil Payton and Margie and Donald Austin; and two daughters in infancy, Dorothy and Judy Wiggins.
She is survived by one son, Billy (Barbara) Wiggins of Calhoun; one daughter, Mary Anna (Gilbert) Bennett of Wimauma, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Sonja Payton, Trina Payton Vincent, Tom Austin, Tim Austin, Terry Wiggins Harris, Frank Wiggins, Keavin Bennett, Kimberly Bennett Bagett and Kelly Bennett and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 9, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bremen with the Rev. Leroy Reardon officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery in Bremen. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 57, Bremen, KY 42325. Tucker Funeral Home in Sacramento was in charge of arrangements.

Nancy Ann Sweet

GREENVILLE - Nancy Ann Sweet, 83, of Greenville, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital following several weeks of illness. Born Feb. 9, 1919 in Earle, Ark., she was the daughter of Will Martin and Nancy Ann Hopkins Martin. She attended the Elkton Road Church of Christ in Greenville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill Herbert Sweet in 1968 and granddaughter, Deborah Quist in 1975.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Sullivan of Greenville and Shirley Quist of Chicago, Ill.; one son, Curtis Merrill Sweet of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Rena’ Davis, Jerry Sullivan, Billy Sullivan, Theresa Quist, David Quist, Chris Quist, Ami Sweet and Chris Sweet; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville. Graveside services and burial followed Saturday, Feb. 8, at Crittenden Memorial Cemetery in West Memphis, Ark. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lonnie Leonard Payton

LEWISBURG - Lonnie Leonard Payton, 91, of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born July 21, 1911 in Olaton, Ky., he was a farmer and owned his own farm. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie Lee (Lyon) Payton; his mother, Ellender (Hoover) Payton; and his father, William Thomas Payton.
He is survived by two sons, Lyndell (Kathy) Payton of Cadiz, Ky. and Bobby (Katherine) Payton of Greenville; and one sister, Elva Royal of Louisville.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 7, at Trinity General Baptist Church with the Revs. Autry Moore, J. W. Haire and Major Londa Board officiating. Burial followed in McPherson Cemetery in Todd County. Price Funeral Home in Lewisburg was in charge of arrangements.

Wilma Louise Vincent

Wilma Louise Vincent, 73, of Central City, died Feb. 6, 2003, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Greenville.
Born June 9, 1929 in Muhlenberg County, she was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and a librarian, having worked at Central City Library.
She is survived by one sister, Anna Dean VanNaarden of Central City; one aunt, Pauline Vincent of Bremen and several cousins.
Graveside services and burial were held Saturday, Feb. 8, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City with the Revs. Gerald Jones and Billy Vincent officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bessie Lee Rager
BREMEN - Bessie Lee Rager, 92, of Bremen, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born July 1, 1910 in Muhlenberg County, she was a homemaker and a member of Church Street General Baptist Church in Bremen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Rager, Sr.; one daughter, Mary Lynch and one son, Homer Rager.
She is survived by four sons, Rufus Rager, Jr., Bob Rager, Tom Rager, and Kenny Rager, all of Bremen; two daughters, Margie Crutcher of Bremen and Judy Hudson of Briar Creek, Ky.; 32 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lonnie Rager of Owensboro and one sister, Loshie Rager of Greenville.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 6, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Revs. Danny Greene and J. W. Haire officiating. Burial followed in Cherry Hill Cemetery in Central City. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lillie Mae Parsons

BEECHMONT - Lillie Mae Parsons, 60, of Beechmont, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at her residence.
Born Feb. 13, 1942 in Webster County, she was a homemaker and a member of Browder Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Parsons.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Allen Wells and Steven Lynn Wells, both of Drakesboro; two daughters, Rita Faye Vaughn of Lewisburg and Janice Darlene Knight of Beechmont; three step-sons, Kevin Parsons and Keith Parsons, both of Chicago, Ill. and Jimmy Parsons of Terre Haute, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Lee Turner of Greenville; and one sister, Mary Martha Holmes of Greenville.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 7, at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Harrison officiating. Burial followed in Union Ridge Cemetery in Belton. Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Evelyn Walton Rogers
LEXINGTON - Mary Evelyn Walton Rogers, 89, of Lexington, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003 at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born in Greenville, the daughter of the late John Jefferson and Mattie Miller Walton, she was a former teacher in the Greenville City School System, a graduate of Western Kentucky State Teacher’s College in 1938 with a B.S. in biology and honorary doctorates from Pikeville College in 1989 and Centre College in 1992.
She is survived by two daughters, Marylon Walton Rogers Glass of Germantown, Tenn. and Martha Brown Rogers (Dr. Harold E.) Plaster, Jr., of Shelby, N.C.; one son, Fon (Rosella D.)Rogers II of Lexington; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 6, at Second Presbyterian Church with the Dr. David A. Renwick and Dr. Eddie Grigsby officiating. Burial followed in Lexington Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Second Presbyterian Church, 460 East Main St., Lexington, KY 40507, the Lon Brown Rogers and Mary Evelyn Walton Rogers Scholarship Fund at Pikeville College or First Presbyterian Church in Pikeville, Ky. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington was in charge of arrangements.

Nell Storer

LOUISVILLE - Nell Storer, 85, of Louisville, formerly of Central City, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville.
Born June 17, 1917 in Muhlenberg County, she was of the Presbyterian faith and she was an artist.
Graveside services and burial were held Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Fairmont Cemetery in Central City with Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Wanda Dale Sprague

Wanda Dale Sprague, 69, of Central City, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville.
Born March 18, 1933 in Muhlenberg County, she was a housewife and a member of the First Apostolic Church in Bremen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Sprague in 1989.
She is survived by one son, Roger Sprague of Central City; four daughters, Carolyn Samples of Owensboro and Sharon Mefford, Marilyn Nelson and Vickie Sprague, all of Central City; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, James Arnold of Georgetown; five sisters, Wilma Sue Shively, Dorothy Proctor, Brenda Bidwell and Linda Reynolds, all of Owensboro and Maxine Lowden of Richland, Ind.; and one half-sister, Irene Russel of Quenton, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 6, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Larry Hamby officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Noffsinger

HOPKINSVILLE - Raymond Noffsinger, 88, of Hopkinsville, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville following a brief illness.
Born Feb 22, 1914, a native of Muhlenberg County, he was the son of the late Samuel Oscar and Verna Jones Noffsinger. He was a farmer and had been a soil conservation supervisor for more than 40 years. He was a Master Conservationist and served on the boards of the Farm Bureau and Southern State Petroleum. He was a member and deacon emeritus of Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville.
He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Duff Noffsinger; one son, Terry Noffsinger of Hopkinsville; two daughters, Carolyn Marlowe and Linda (Jim) Durham, both of Hopkinsville; two brothers, Estil Noffsinger of Carlisle, Ky. and Gavin Noffsinger of Fayetteville, Ga.; one sister, Lanell Vincent of Texas; two grandchildren, Teri Rae Noffsinger and Brian Durham; three step grandchildren, Donnie Snead, Amy Snead and Kristie Snead; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Brett Snead and Haley Snead.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 8, at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with the Revs. Dan Ferguson and John R. Christian officiating. Burial followed in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville. Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Church or to the donor’s charity of choice. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Edward Glenn “Foo” Stevens

Edward Glenn “Foo” Stevens, 79, of Central City, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at KOA Camp Grounds in Okachobee, Fla.
Born Oct. 12, 1923 in Ohio County, he was a retired coal miner and a member of Central City United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge #673 in Central City. He was a veteran, having served in World War II.
He is survived by his spouse, Joyce Gray Stevens; one son, Bobby Glenn Stevens of Livermore; two daughters, Susan Burden of Utica and Millie Wells of Central City; one stepson, Jeffery Durall of Greenville; one stepdaughter, Annetta Stanley of Lake Malone; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lavaugh Stevens of Payullap, Wash.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 7, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City. Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Harold Lloyd Anderson

JASPER, IND. - Harold Lloyd Anderson, 77, of Jasper, Ala., formerly of Central City, died died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Vanderbilt Burn Center in Nashville.
Born April 24, 1971 in Muhlenberg County, she was an assembly line employee at Collis Inc. of Evansville and a member of Carter Creek Baptist Church in Greenville.
She is survived by her parents, Sam J. and Lana K. Loy of Greenville; one brother, Sam Loy III of Greenville; four sisters, Samantha D. Scott, Paula Smith and Sherri Clark, all of Greenville and Lisa A. Williams of Berea; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Gene Harper officiating. Burial followed in Carter Creek Cemetery in Greenville. Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

George Richard Laster

GREENVILLE - George Richard Laster, 90, of Greenville, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Belle Meade Nursing Home in Greenville after a lengthy illness.
Born Jan. 9, 1913 in Todd County, the son of Monroe Soloman Laster and Minnie Berry Laster, he was a retired farmer and state worker and was a member of Olive Grove General Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Opeline Hazel McGhee Laster in 1951 and son, Shelby H. Laster in 1996.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lizzie Lorene Crick Laster of Greenville; three sons, John M. Laster and D. Bennie Laster, both of Greenville and Winston H. Laster of Grand Rapids, Mich.; one stepson, Joseph E. Snyder of Greenville; three stepdaughters, Jean Hendryx of Sand Lake, Mich., Norma Simpson of Cedar Springs, Mich. and Patsy Byrd of Grand Rapids, Mich.; 69 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; 36 great-great-grandchilden and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. Richard Day officiating. Burial followed in Heltsley Cemetery in Clifty, Ky. Gary’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Jeffrey Neal Reynolds

DRAKEBORO - Jeffrey Neal Reynolds, 48, died Feb. 10, 2003, at his residence.
Born July 8, 1954 in Muhlenberg County, he was a coal miner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie in 1971 and his father, Charles Reynolds, in 1997.
He is survived by his mother, Emelda Smith Reynolds of Browder; two brothers, Karl Reynolds and Eric Reynolds, both of Browder; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 5 p.m., at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home, with the Revs. Glenn Harper and Roger Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Fitzhugh Cemetery in Logan County. Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Randall Lee Underwood
POWDERLY ­ Randall Lee Underwood, 72, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born in Muhlenberg County, Dec. 13, 1931, he was a retired coal miner and of the Holiness faith. He was a U.S. veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Ann Menser of Paducah; two sisters, Peggy Wilson of Powderly and Alta Louise Coursey of Ozark, Ala.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Feb. 5 at Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Boyken officiating. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery in Central City.
